Connor talking about music or story: ''I like the noise'' ''It was good''
Connor talking about pizza: ''The best part of the pizza is the synergy. The way the bread, the cheese and the sauce is like the perfect amount--'' XD
That’s how I feel with chick-fil-la when taking my first bite into a sandwich. The perfect toasted bread, crispyness of the breading, good amount of chicken, and the juiciness of the chicken.
Honestly i feel Connor on that though, yea music is good because the noise is fun
I wonder if he can understand the nuances of the story writing or music, but just has a very hard time describing it. But more quantifiable stuff like VA sound quality and food quality he can describe really well
It probably is because pizza just hits on a different level.
Connor goes Galaxy brain when talking about pizza
I love how Garnt is trying to say integrals and Connor says integers and they all just decided sure, integers
I thought that was weird... Thought it was just me.

Foreigners: Jesus Christ your meal portions are absurd.
Americans: We know.
Yeah, I feel like Americans have become self-aware of how huge the portions are. Which is a good thing because they could stand to learn from other countries in that (and honestly plenty of other regards).
As an American, (and a first generation one, at that!) I can *FULLY* agree.

And seriously, though-it is RIDIC! 😵😆
But then again I’m European living in South-Korea and I had that shock here feeling like the Korean portion sizes you get when eating out are huge compared to what I was used to back home. If American portion sizes are that much larger than Asian I don’t think I dare to go ahaha 😅

Holy fuck, Connor's story with those old ladies made me remember the time two ladies came to my apartment and tried to take me to another city to pray with them in a temple. They were like "So, we're praying to protect Japan from earthquakes". Luckily I had a trip to Tokyo booked for the day after, but when I told them so their immediate response was "No worries, we can take you there now"
Did they go in your home?

This entire episode in a nutshell:
"Man Americans are so weird."
The world looks at America how America looks at florida. And i'm from florida so I would know.
They say while being scarred of human interaction and puking after forcing themselves to finish their meal.
It would be nice if they invited American speakers, considering most of the viewers watching are indeed American. There's very little diversity between them apart for life experiences.
@@shegoth8888 Joey is at least Australian. I don't really care that much though it has got a little repetitive. I haven't liked the last couple podcasts as much as the first ones. Plot twist: French arcade kid IS the homeless midget. The kid stopped growing at a very young age so he felt shit, got a bad attitude and started messing with people in arcades. He wasn't screaming at the girl in unclear English, he was screaming in French.
After being confronted by Connor, he went through an extremely brief redemption arc and reached into his pocket to return the money he caused Connor to lose in the arcade all those years ago.

As someone who’s lived in America my entire life, everything they said is true. Portion sizes are ridiculously, cinema prices make no sense, I have actually seen a lard dispenser for popcorn and it’s disgusting. And spray cheese should not be a thing because it is absolutely disgusting.
Their cinema prices were about the UK and Australia. American cinemas are catching up in terms of price gouging though.
I'm assuming the lard on popcorn is a Midwest thing? I've never seen it on the East or West Coasts. And the spray cheese thing is peak Whiteness. The what are seasonings kind of white.
As for our ridiculous portion sizes the way I've always heard it explained was its a two fold from cowboy culture who did actually need to eat that much and from the Great Depression when food was more scarce and for awhile eating for pleasure/eating being enjoyable at all was kind of demonized and so the portions increased as a hey here so you have something to help tide you over for the next while after this. But yeah. Even if we're not expected to eat all of it there its still wild, and don't get me started on how drink sizes have ballooned (the small in many places now was the large of the 90s and early 2000s) or how they took inspiration from bowling allies and their football sized drinks.
If you are an Indian like me and know "Hindi" then the amount of educational content you can watch on UA-cam is just mind blowing. There's this teacher known as "Physics Wallah" and basically every student in my whole town knows who he is because of his quality content.

“Yeah, okay, so here’s a concept I never understood, right? You go to any restaurant, right? Usually it’s free refills - there’s just a drink machine there…But there’s Small, Medium, and Large sized cups. WHY would you not just get a small cup since it’s cheaper?”
Never in my ENTIRE life did I ever consider this, ever. Not once. I am ashamed.
Buy the cheapest stuff. If there's a mistake: free upgrade.
You should, yeah.
A lot of people take the largest size, then fill it up right before they leave so they have more to drink after they leave. Also some people want to get up to fill it less often.
If you get a large you dont need a refill who gives af about that 20 cents
American food joints you get the combo which is fries (or whatever) + drink, usually the same size. I'd think most people pick the size of the fries they want not necessarily the drink. Now if you're ordering JUST a drink small is the way to go. That isn't ALWAYS the case though, some places there's only like a 10 cent difference between sizes (so 20 cents more for a large) and the cup is goddamn twice as big, so fill that bad boy up before you leave and get way more bang for your buck.
All those Red Bulls consumed might explain why Garnt shakes his whole body when he laughs lol

That’s normal.

When I was studying programming in college the Indian tutorials were always the most to the point and useful tutorials.
There are two main types of programming tutorials online, 20 minute Indian tutorials that explained everything that you needed to know, or 4 hour Native English Speaker tutorials that explained the bare minimum they could and mostly filled the tutorials with random information or used up a lot of time tutting their own horns.

In my uni we only had shit related stories happen. Not much more. Oh, and someone commits sui$ide once every few years.

A goddamn hero bless you sir
this is probably one of my fav episode
Y’all know that feeling where your having fun, then all of a sudden you realize that your assignment was due the next day and you haven’t started on it yet then your heart drops, and you start to dread everything...? Yeah, me too.
Two Brits and a Aussie talk about how confusing Americans are...
Meanwhile in the US:
'Americans are confused about how Americans are.'
I swear UFOs lock their doors when they fly pass.
@@deadcard13 Explain Area 51 then. Do it you wont
@@JetAway Someone didn't lock their door when stopping at a red light.
I’m just questioning how there are idiots still alive in the states.
Is florida a state?
90% comments: We Americans did do that.
10% comments: Connor has the weirdest stories
101% = lol
There's also the 10% with the "doujin in the top left" crowd

Going through uni during this pandemic sucks, can't have fun you're left with only stress. Good luck to yall going to same or worse :(
Oooof what gigguk said about sleep schedule and day job, I can relate.. I got used to freelancing for 7 year from SEA with US client, and even before I've always been a night person in uni and will stay up till class time and sleep after class.. I recently took full time work and I'm DYING every morning because I need to go to work and can't do the thing I did in uni cos i'll be 11 hour outside the house and I have family now that I should spend time together
I'm an American, and I've never understood spray cheese either. Its just too much.
I’ve found it works pretty good on crackers. I don’t understand the people who just spray it into their mouth. It’s not that tasty and it’s unsanitary on top of that
There are people who eat sticks of butter so the spray cheese thing doesn’t surprise me
RiseUpToYourAbility people eat sticks of butter? hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
@@fishfrfr there's even a thing that carnivals supposedly sell called "Butter on a Stick". It's literally a deep fried stick of butter on a stick, like a corn dog. Idk if that's true cause I've never been to a carnival, but I'm sure it is
@@sagescribe_ I've heard of this as well. I haven't ever seen it either.
Im American and I agree with your points on restaurants/cinemas. I never order appetizers because I don't want to be full before the main course. As for the large soda, I get a refill before leaving.
The spray cheese also i don’t know if it where I live spray is nasty and I haven’t even seen it in a store ever
PalDork same, that shit sounds awful
It's in every Walmart, Safeway and Kroger I've ever been to.
Animator22 even my mom agrees, she never gets appetizers because of that.
PalDork same
40:00 That is so nice to know. The stress of having so many assignments for so many classes is real
I'm glad I'm quick to forget things, cause now I can rewatch all the early episodes and still not get bored the slightest :D
Garnt: yeah he won 10k and he could’ve paid off his student loans
US Students: he could’ve what?
I could go to one entire American doctor visit for that!
that could maybe sorta cover 1 semester of graduate school in the US ... Lol
@@kimberlyvenesky1156 America is P2W
that could cover my whole degree and still have around 6k
WHAT ? As someone who wants to go into the medical field. To become a doctor alone will take around 500,000 at least
As an American, the main thing I’m learning in every episode is how much of a meme we are
yep XD
One of my personal favs is watching SJWs protesting 😂

Rewatched this episode like 6 times now
26:11 I was listening to this on spotify while doing my assignment at 4:20 in the morning, and it's due today😂 GARNT GETS MORE AND MORE RELATABLE EACH DAY
"The best part of the pizza is the synergy."
Me too, Connor. Me too.
THANK YOU!!! I was so surprised when Joey and Connor disagreed.
Yeah, isn't that the point of like cooking?

Leftover takeaway: Allow me to introduce myself
Ikr that's basically tomorrow's lunch right there!
But is there Leftover takeaway in Japan? Never heard of it.
I'm guessing that's not a thing in Japan...
@@mvhcmaniac5616 it is, you just have to ask (as long as its not ramen or shit like that)
I was wondering that too cause in my little American mind I couldn’t understand why he didn’t for takeaway 😂 😂 😂
Just can't unsee the open doujinshi manga on the shelf at 22:22
Love the accent conversation. 1:01:31 Yes we love exotic or foreign languages in the U.S. Connor mentioned using it to get great service. Most servers are treated like shit by rude customers. Just being polite and using manners can go a long way. I made a server cry once (happy tears) because I thanked her, I held an actual conversation beyond ordering, and I told her I appreciated her service. I've lived in 16 different states, 4 countries (including Japan), and I can attest to accents evolving. I have to speak slowly and enunciate or people can't understand me now that I'm picking up the southern Georgia accent.
As an American, I have never laughed so much as when hearing these three non-Americans opinions on the USA.
Agreed they haven't experienced what it feels like to live in america Daily all though they are right about Texas portions as a man who lives in Texas
Yeah man. Some of our stuff just goes over their head. Tennessee here.
Agreed Cali here
The last time an american cared about an opinion from the UK it was 1776.
As an Australian that's only discovered that "the hard R" is censoring of the N-word
I found that what Joey* said in that moment absolutely hilarious
Gigguk: “I’m not even that tall, I’m 6 foot”.
Me: crying in 5’7
5'4" guy here
5'2" here
5’3” here
At least you're not as short as those Japanese lady's telling Connor to go pray that's me ;-;
Koro-Kira yeah but short girls are a norm, short guys have it rough
As far as getting a large soda, it was usually so you could grab a large refill to take with you on the way out
I remember starting high school with a healthy sleep schedule and eating habits now currently in uni with non existent sleep schedule and periods where I just forget to eat then eat
