    Great advice! I absolutely love this book and struggled to figure out a system for progressing through it.
    Thanks for your video.

      I agree, pupils are always asking how to practice...

    Was searching in UA-cam for advices for the Stick Control book and found this video. What a nice surprise!
    Derek was my first drum teacher and it's nice to see these kind of contents. Hope to have some classes with you again, Derek!

    Hey Derek
    Danke für das Video. Eine Frage noch: Wieso empfiehlst Du die Marchin Sticks, statt normaler Drum Sticks?
    Gruss aus der Schweiz

      Hallo TH!
      Viele Grüße aus Berlin,
      Derek

    Hi, can you please explain what you do with the temposheet? Does the metronome gradually speed up? How often? Thanks!

    • @derekscherzerberlin
      @derekscherzerberlin  Рік тому +1

      Hey Thomas! I use the tempo sheet to speed up step by step and having a sort of guideline in what steps I will speed up. Of course feel free to find your own steps (for example 5 beats faster etc). And I do this (speeding up) when I feel it´s time to go faster. So when I have the feeling one tempo is mastered and I am ready to go on.......makes that sense to you? All the best! Derek

    Hi, thanks for your video ! I have a problem though to read the flam section, as the 'f' does not define if it's the right or the left hand doing it.

    • @derekscherzerberlin
      @derekscherzerberlin  4 роки тому +4

      Hey Math las! On the bottom of page 16 in the book the notation for the flams is explained: "F" means right-hand-flam - so the right hand plays the main accented stroke and the left hand is playing the flam (grace note) and the "F with the circle" around the letter means the opposite.......hope this answer helped!? Thanks for watching the video!
