Say what you want about Nick Cage, but at least when he does cash grabs he's in the movie for more than 10 minutes and does his best to make his scenes entertaining
@DamageIncM if you want some absolute Nick Cage bangers, The Weather Man is super underrated, Adaptation is one of the best meta films ever, and Mandy is purified badass. There's also the obvious choices like Red Rock West, Face/Off, and The Rock. Lord of War is also super underrated, as well as Joe. Hell, Vampires Kiss is a legitimately great film held together by an over the top Cage performance that gets made fun of because people think it was accidentally goofy. Bruce is just a straight up weirdo, like acts and says weird shit behind the scenes, whereas I've always seen Cage as being extravagant but super nice even if he can come off as pretentious. All in all, I'd shake Bruce's hand but I'd party with Cage.
@DamageIncM well Joe, Mandy, and Color Out of Space are all fantastic movies that've come out recently. The dude definitely does a lot of trash (Between Worlds, Primal, the upcoming Jiu Jitsu is probably gonna be bad, etc) but when he's given a good script, he adds so much to the project

There was a news article published a while ago that said Bruce can't even talk anymore. That probably sheds some light on why his later characters tended to talk while facing away from the camera.
It's kind of an evil twist of irony that an actor would get a specific form of dementia that targeted everything first that was important for acting. Now I wish these movies were just him falling out of love with acting, instead of... that.

Bruce Willis was still making good movies up until around 2012/13, i rewatched Looper today and it's excellent. Now we know he was suffering from dementia it's really sad seeing him star in all of these B movies, he used to be so cool and charismatic.
Gluttony? Brando, or someone else who got fat later in their career. Envy? Van Damme or someone like him, someone trying to become a big star but never became that big.
weird how 12 monkeys wasn't included in the list of actually good films/performances. die hard, unbreakable and sixth sense are such standard picks, but 12 monkeys is an interesting contrast to all of these considering how out of character he was in that, not to mention he basically worked for free solely because he wanted to work with terry gilliam. he obviously got paid afterwards, but even then it was considerably less than usual. i just think that's quite the contrast to the bruce willis of today.
Agreed 12 Monkeys is wonderful. It's frustrating because Bruce Willis CAN (or at least once could...) act. His characters in the aforementioned 12 Monkeys and something like Death Becomes Her , or Die Hard and the Jackal etc are all polar opposites yet totally convincing. He puts his all into those performances. Now he barely looks capable of getting through a line...
@broootal yeah, I don't think Wes Anderson chooses good actors as much as he chooses those who better fit his own particular style. I don't think Luke nor Owen Wilson are considered good actors, but they're perfectly adequate for their respective roles in The Royal Tenenbaums; Bill Murray stopped caring years ago, but WS knows how to channel his current apathetic "energy", and so on.
Yes! I've seen most of his better movies over the years, but those are the two where I think he did good acting jobs. I could be prejudiced; I find the character "Bruce Willis", who he usually plays, obnoxious.
Apparently they did know, towards the end he was being fed lines during recording / told exactly where to stand etc because he often didn't really know what was going on. The producers let him do it because having him in their shitty movies was the only way anyone would ever hear about them. It was all about making money to them
@@MRADOES04 he needs to get paid. This video is an hour long and thats after cuts and editing. So hours if not days of work. UA-cam pay alone isn't enough i guess. That being said it really was a soulless promo
Steven Seagal was never an A-Lister to begin with and Nic Cage does these B-movies after all his financial problems (which include a run-in with the IRS for a large sum of unpaid taxes) but Bruce Willis? Does he really needs the money? EDIT: Well now we do know, why he did all these crappy movies.... It's really sad.
Considering that email said Bruce was unjustifiably mean to the makeup girl, I think it's fair to just say Bruce Willis proactively makes everything he interacts with, on set, worse.
The entire thing just makes me so cynical about the industry. Like, yeah, good on Bruce for making his money while he could.. but like.... it kind of makes me feel a little despair that it went on for as long as it did and worked as well as it did folding ideas has talked about it a little before, how much of the stuff we consume isn't anyones vision or artistic expression, it's just a product to be sold, produced to fill a slot in future cable syndication schedules. Action isn't the genre it used to be, we don't really have action stars like we used to. And the entire Bruce Willis saga is just such perfect example of the decline of the genre/the industries unwillingness to break from formula It makes more financial sense to have a film basically tarring a stunt double with Willis occasionally being prodded to deliver indecipherable lines than to cast an unknown It's Kafkaesque
Man i cant wait for the Steven Seegal and Bruce Willis team up movie. One will be sitting down the entire time and the other will be facing away from the camera.
I havent seen Bruce Willis in anything recently, so this video was genuinely saddening to watch. What happened to the enthusiastic, energetic, wise-cracking characters from just a few decades ago? I know he's older now, but its like watching a completely different person! I even googled his age just to make sure he wasn't much, much older than I thought he was. He's acting more like a sluggish, confused 80 year old than a guy in his early-to-mid 60s! :O
@@handsdowntoo7150 I know, right? He was so awesome in the 90's and not just in action movies. I liked him in Hudson Hawk, Death Becomes Her, Pulp Fiction, 5th Element, Death Becomes Her, you name it. But after Die Hard 4 he just gave up I guess.

So, that Chinese movie appears to be about the “Flying Tigers” where a few squadrons of U.S. Air Force under the command of Claire Chennault were loaned to Republic of China for usage against the common Japanese enemy. The problem is that the Flying Tigers were dispatched in 1941, not 1939. Also, they were sent to the Republic of China - meaning Chiang Kai Shek, not the People’s Republic of China under Mao Tsetung. So it’s very curious to see the CCP finance a film about a group of American pilots that fought for the opposing Chinese faction, only to have the pilots actually be Chinese and fight for an apparently undivided Chinese state. Also, nothing happened in Tiananmon Square in 1989, and there is no war in Ba-Sing-Se.

"I see dead people" is a great way to sum up the modern-day experience of watching Bruce Willis films.
I love how Ralph never gives a spoiler warning for these types of videos since he knows none of us are gonna watch these shit movies.
Never thought I'd see the day where Bruce freaking willis would become the Steven Seagal of this generation
According to Wikipedia, Reprisal was shot in 14 days and Bruce Willis was on set 1 day. LOL I love how honest Frank Grillo was in that interview.
Ho Lee Shit
And he probably spent half of that day eating, talking on his phone and sitting on the toilet
After that interview Frank Grillo would work with Bruce Willis again in Cosmic Sin.
There is a reason for that, and why Bruce has now retired.
We can all agree that the best Bruce Willis movie is Over the Hedge.
No the best Bruce Willis movie is Hudson Hawk
Is he the raccoon? I forgot
@@andrewdozier3920 Yes! How can you forget a masterpiece?
I used to watch that movie every day
That’s cap it’s die hard dummy
Bruce Willis was still making good movies up until around 2012/13, i rewatched Looper today and it's excellent. Now we know he was suffering from dementia it's really sad seeing him star in all of these B movies, he used to be so cool and charismatic.
Welp, now I feel bad.
Ralph's hairstyle changes more frequently than a Marvel actor
Almost changes as much as his backgrounds. It changes every video 😂
That was pretty good
He’s preparing for his self-starring remake of Eraserhead.
@@Necron1999 I came here to say this
He's deranged. You could tell he was collapsing during his Joker review
Hayden Christensen is aging AMAZINGLY. It's been 15 years since Episode 3 and he hasn't aged at all.

Director: O.K. Bruce that was good, can we do that once more?
Willis: No.
I can’t wait for Ralph’s continuation on the 7 deadly actors. Seagal was Pride. Nick was Greed. Bruce is Sloth.
Candidates for Lust, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony? Breen, Wiseau and Travolta should be included somehow.
Gluttony? Brando, or someone else who got fat later in their career. Envy? Van Damme or someone like him, someone trying to become a big star but never became that big.
@animationeer Lust was always the hottest one
No mention of Zack Snyder? Come on, man.
Pet stone, from back in the days zack Snyder isn’t an actor tho
“I took a money job..My garden looks great because I payed for a new garden but it’s embarrassing” just pure honesty 😂😂😂
Bruce has hit the "I've checked out" phase of his career.
weird how 12 monkeys wasn't included in the list of actually good films/performances. die hard, unbreakable and sixth sense are such standard picks, but 12 monkeys is an interesting contrast to all of these considering how out of character he was in that, not to mention he basically worked for free solely because he wanted to work with terry gilliam. he obviously got paid afterwards, but even then it was considerably less than usual.
i just think that's quite the contrast to the bruce willis of today.
Don’t forget Pulp Fiction
I cant either. I love 12 Monkeys.
I know what everyone is thinking.

Kudos to Wes Anderson and Rian Johnson for somehow, making Bruce Willis a decent actor for the last time in 2012.
In what?
@@gfamily2478 Moonrise Kingdom and Looper
@I Coroa that was way before.
Knowing he has dementia I wonder if the producers knew and if so why they would let him do it.
Apparently they did know, towards the end he was being fed lines during recording / told exactly where to stand etc because he often didn't really know what was going on. The producers let him do it because having him in their shitty movies was the only way anyone would ever hear about them. It was all about making money to them

Honestly, after the Aphasia announcement, I remembered this video and it all made sense.
Steven Seagal was never an A-Lister to begin with and Nic Cage does these B-movies after all his financial problems (which include a run-in with the IRS for a large sum of unpaid taxes) but Bruce Willis?
Does he really needs the money?

He isn't trying. He's been on all these direct to tv movies that he films all in a day, gets paid, and leaves. Watch Wtf happened to Bruce Willis.

Bruce Willis was never the villain of this story. He was just a man in the system making fat fucking stacks
The entire thing just makes me so cynical about the industry. Like, yeah, good on Bruce for making his money while he could.. but like.... it kind of makes me feel a little despair that it went on for as long as it did and worked as well as it did
folding ideas has talked about it a little before, how much of the stuff we consume isn't anyones vision or artistic expression, it's just a product to be sold, produced to fill a slot in future cable syndication schedules.
Action isn't the genre it used to be, we don't really have action stars like we used to. And the entire Bruce Willis saga is just such perfect example of the decline of the genre/the industries unwillingness to break from formula
It makes more financial sense to have a film basically tarring a stunt double with Willis occasionally being prodded to deliver indecipherable lines than to cast an unknown
It's Kafkaesque

I havent seen Bruce Willis in anything recently, so this video was genuinely saddening to watch. What happened to the enthusiastic, energetic, wise-cracking characters from just a few decades ago? I know he's older now, but its like watching a completely different person! I even googled his age just to make sure he wasn't much, much older than I thought he was. @@filipboz9578 It's a refence from the "Reprisal" movie that Ralph reviewed in the past.
Thank you for correcting and putting it in a way that is easy to read. My comment would have been too wordy.
@Lurker M yes genocide is clearly the answer
