The Outer Worlds Lore: Canned Saltuna - What's It Really Made Out Of?

- In this outer worlds lore video, we look at the evidence to determine what Saltuna is really made out of. Is it purely made out of fish, or are there other ingredients that Reed Tobson and his ilk throw into the mix? What are the people of Edgewater really eating?
Thanks so much for liking, commenting and subscribing!

Some salmon species have similar breeding behavior and by the time they die after reproducing they are already rotted since they begin to decompose along their journey to their egg laying area.
You actually learn on the groundbreaker if you talk to the spratwurst lady that "sprat" comes from "space rat"
I think canid meat is ok to eat, the guy at the botanical labs says he sells it. You can buy fresh fruit from him too. Also if you hack the computer of the greenhouse lady (can't remember her name) she has journal entries that say she has cured people by feeding them a healthy diet with lots of greens.
Emma Great points! Thanks for the comment. The lady’s name is Adelaide by the way!
She feeds them a healthy diet by using human corpses as fertilizer. Canid meat is bad for you (the description of the meat says so). They sell it because it makes money just like sell Saltuna and Adrena-Time.
Canid meat by it’s item description makes it seem very unlikely to be healthy for consumption.
However sprat mean is uses in creating spratwursts on the Groundbreaker which seems like a corn dog like concoction so maybe if both meats are used sparingly with a filler substitute both are edible.
4 out of 5 doctors recommend canid meat the fifth doctor died shortly after consumption so his opinion was unable to be recorded. This is what is written on canid meats description inside your inventory so we do know wether or not it’s safe to eat.
I love this fucking game's humor so much.
You've tried the best now try the rest
Spacers choice!

I read a comment once made by a Gamer™️ where they complained that every female NPC looked like “a boy” and not “pretty” and “attractive” and they all had short hair and I am like… “dude…. They are eating saltuna and pig tumors every freaking day. They live in a wasteland. They are overworked and severely underpaid. What are you talking about sexy???”
Really good of adding a little bit of actual scientific data... props
New viewer..
I literally saw the thumbnail & title of this video & immediately went…
“OMG! The machine is messed up because it’s sprat not tuna. The plague both reduces the amount of food needed for people, and allows sprats to prosper for production. No WONDER sprats are running rampant around Edgewater!”
Lmao
-edit: a fun tag line in the game are two guards talking about a former guard defecting because of the plague, and one guard says immediately “s**t, I ate a can of his salt tuna last night”
I think this was a golden on the nose joke from developers.
these vids highly under the radar.
Huh. It never dawned on me.
It still better than cannibalism 😮💨
Late to this but the deserters eat canid all the time from what the shop keep says
Interesting video. But, sorry, how is eating dog any more cruel than eating cow or pig etc.? Only because they are "pets and cute"?
It’s because dogs have been specifically bred for close to 100,000 years to be human companions. Dogs are no longer wild animals, they’ve been engineered to love humans. That’s why it’s considered wrong to eat them. Alternatively, cats have only been bred for a few hundred years, which is why most cats don’t show constant affection for humans but dogs do
There is nothing good or bad, it's thinking that makes it so.
@@TheCephalon what are you talking about, cats was domesticated by Egyptians 5000 years ago lmao
Pigs are actually considered smarter than dogs and it made me think of how complex are relationships are with other animals.
