  • This is Phase 2 of the Miter Saw Station Build; the dust collection hood and T-Track install for the stop block system. The build consists of 1/2" and 1/4" plywood that I salvaged from the old rolling miter station.

Much appreciated! This could totally be translated for use on a radial arm saw.

Can you cut a compound bevel, or any bevel with that set-up? Do you have to take the front panels off the hood to cut anything other than 90 degree chop through a board? I am trying to develop a hood for my miter saw.

oxcart19 to cut bevels, those front panels easily slide out and I can get the full range out of the saw 50 degrees Left, 60 degrees right. I rarely ever cut compound miters , but I’m sure I could get at least 30 degree tilt in both directions if needed.

Do you have a video of how you hooked it up to dust collection?

How's the dust collection with the hood on? I also have the same miter saw

It’s a night and day difference. By far the best thing I’ve done so far for dust collection.

How do you open cupboards above saw?..

Tom Zuppan the small top triangle is attached with two screws. So if I need to open the two inner most cabinets I can take the top off. I don’t keep anything in those cabinets that I need regularly.

Oils raise them but the inconvenience using one door to get to stuff behind the blocked doors isn’t the worst thing ever. Could even take the hinges off and use magnetic door catches to hold the whole door on.
