- This is my take on the blast gate box. I took inspiration from other videos, but made a few modifications to improve efficiency and work with 2" PVC.
If you're interested in plans for this build, leave it in the comments below. If there is enough interest, I will put plans together!

This is clever, and solves some problems. I like it.
Best way for making one I’ve seen so far thanks
Thanks for watching!
Another great idea for hand built blast gates. I really like the plexiglass addition so you can actually witness how things are flowing. My saw dust collection set up is 2” pvc as well and this will firm in beautifully! Many Thanks
Thanks for watching Phil! Let me know if you have any questions when you build it yourself. Also, if you make any improvements, please share!
Nice touch with the plexi.
Looks great to me! Your video was the first that came up when I searched '2" PVC blast gate' :) I may have to copy yours!
Samcraft glad you found this video. Hope it helps!
WOW well done
Well put sir, electrical tape was a good call!
I would like to have plans for this build. Thanks.
nice job, Thanks
Love it! I did see something similar on UA-cam a while back but now seeing you slightly modify it, I’m confident in making one for myself. Great job!
Thanks for watching! Its a pretty easily build, let me know if you have further question.
you all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Enrique Kristian instablaster :)
@Melvin Erik Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Melvin Erik It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
I've scavenged the internet for a good looking and yet functional blast gate box and I think I found it! Thank you for filming this --- I'm for sure using this for a number of different spots in my shop. Question - how is the electric tape holding up after almost 2 years? Thanks!
Glad I could help! The whole unit is as good as it was on day one! The tape is really sandwiched between the wood and plexiglass so nothing has seeped through. If anything was to fail, I thought it would be the gasket between the sliders, but they are still holding strong.
I would like to express my interest for the plans to the Blast Gate Box with 2" PVC Ports!
This is really great! Nice work! Do you have plans?
Thanks Matthew! Sorry, I do not currently have plans available.
Very cool. Do you use a shop vac for collection? If so, what kind? Thank you.
Yes, I use a Rigid Shop Vac. Check out my Dust Collection Setup video: ua-cam.com/video/GXa1s47bxWE/v-deo.html
Very cool set! How thick was your plexiglass that you used? Is there any loss of suction since you first built it?
1/16”. It has held up pretty well even today. I know there are losses at all the PVC connections since I didn’t glue or tape them, but that’s my preference to keep the flexibility and modify as I change the Shop around.
What kind of table saw is that you are using? Might be time to upgrade from my whopping big 8" ryobi bench top model
Its a Rigid R4512 from Home Depot. I have been very happy with it over the last 1.5 years, as it was my first real cast Iron table saw. BUT, I really only cut softwood (Pine), when I tried cutting 2" Maple, it bogged down quite a bit. Something to think about. Thanks for watching!
I do it easier !! and cheap other way
