One quick question, Ryan...what's a 'try on haul' video....I've never heard that expression before??

Thanks Gavin. I've seen others create this sort of video so thought I would, too. Might help someone looking for inspiration on what to use to create their own videos.

Great description mate. I took my GoPro 7 to the Himalayas in 2019. Light weight and very versatile. I didn't know about the useful addons you described. Wish I did, in particular the fur covered mic. It would have helped heaps. When the wind was fairly howling, my voice wasn't that clear. The battery life seemed very short and we had to keep them warm especially when the temperatures went down below freezing. Keeping the spares against my body until I needed to use them - seemed to work.

Hi Colin and thanks for subscribing to my channel. The GoPro is such a useful little camera and without the audio adaptor plugged in, it's waterproof to 10m (but you probably knew that). I have a chest and head mount for it but not tried them yet...will have to give them a go!

Thanks mate, I’m a Sony man myself but each to their own 😁 I’m a fan of the DJI Mavic with the seperate controller but the camera on the phantom is awesome. Stay safe mate

My first DSLR was a Nikon so I've stayed with them. The Mavic is much more compact than the P4P but not sure about their camera specs.

I am wishing I had moved from the Phantom series to the Mavic as I find the Phantom very cumbersome to cart around and use. As a result it tends to be left at home on many trips. I never managed to get on with my Nikons shooting video, maybe the kit lens that is to blame but they hunt for focus way too much. Switched to a dedicated video camera and never looked back. I have bought more gear than I really know what to do with and the last video I made (not out yet) was done purely on my Motorola phone. I will be interested to see what comments I get on that one :)

I started with the Phantom 4, then stepped up to the P4 Pro because it has a better quality camera. With the newer and smaller Mavic series, I'll probably look at upgrading to one....they're definitely much smaller, lighter and easier to carry. I dragged my P4P up the top of Mount Augustus!!
I found setting the focus to manual is a good option if the camera wants to 'hunt for focus'.

@@RustysOutbackAdventures Yes, manual was the only option I found that worked but is only useful for static shots.

Found you via FB, that's one serious drone! I want to get a little mini one.

Hey @Damoforce, thanks for checking out my video. Yes, the P4P is bigger than the newer Mavic series, which are much lighter and compact. I bought the P4P because it has a really good camera. The downside is its size so if/when I upgrade, I'll be looking for a drone with similar/better camera specs.
You've got a great looking channel.

Very informative video mate, I'm interested in a lavalier mic for my workshop videos. Do recommend your or another brand or model would be more suited to my big shed?

Jim, I'm sure there's many wireless lapel mics on the market. The one I have is more than enough for me....range is over 50m but I've never tried it over that distance.
