Went through like a 100 videos to find one with the same noise. It's crazy how many people dont know this difference between a squeaking noise and a creeking noise.
I made this video to try compensate for all the waste of Time looking for video IT goes anywhere
exactly, when you search creaking, all that comes up is videos about squeaking
@@basicdetail4512 I have this same sound on my infinti g37. I'm not sure what it is
@@v36vhr go step by step maybe this video can help you ua-cam.com/video/H1fd4N7HLh0/v-deo.html
Oil is pissing out that engine bro!!
You are a life saver, I was convinced it was the strut. I took it apart like 4 times and replaced so many parts. This was the exact noise on my 2016 Corolla. Found 3 of the subframe bolts were loose and like magic the sound disappeared. I can’t thank you enough.
wow, that made my day, at the time I hesitated to make the video, I told myself that it was a lot of work in addition to my problem which drained all my energy... but to read your comment I tell myself that it was really worth it
I wonder if that's the issue with my Sentra. 2013...new struts and lower control arms installed also rear stabilizer bars. I hear a creaking/vibration upon acceleration on my driver's side area. I started with rebranding the tires...no dice. I'll have my mechanic check the rear and sub frame bolts. The sound is like a loose something or other. Thanks for the video!
same issue on my vw... i have new suspension parts.. so i dont understand why... time to check subframe!
Great video! My friend, you may not be a professional mechanic but you are as much of a mechanic as 90% of the people who'll watch this video are. Btw as a native English speaker let me assure you that your English is also very good.
Im so greatfull to get positive feedback like this thank you so Much IT give me the fuel to continue ! Have a Great Day Kevin
Most certified "mechanics" aren't very bright individuals. It's just the way most are. If they aren't trying to rip you off or overcharge you there's still the ones that don't know what they're doing or cut corners. That being said, this person knows what they're doing.
A thorough, well described and well filmed investigation. Useful video!
Thanks i really appreciate ! Your comment make m'y day
Very thorough and helpful. Thanks for staying with it and filming it all. I'm at my wits end with my car's issues and noises.

What a great video!! Your English is perfect my friend 😊...I love seeing videos where proper time is taken and proper diagnosis is done to find the problem. You have educated me and I've been a mechanic for years. Thank you 😊

Impressive troubleshooting. You are very patient. Terrible error by the engine installer!
Thanks Tim i appreciate your good words ! The worst is That i call the dealer just to explain what happens to me un the goal to prevent futur issue like this and he denied is fault because the job was done few months ago 🤷
Great video...even though we may never have this issue the fact that you detailed and showed each troubleshooting step is very valuable information!!
Thanks brother ! I appreciate your comment ! Have a good day
I really liked the thorough approach, your specific issue is probably not what causes the cracking noise that I hear in my car, yet that is not relevant. Great vid!
Thanks a lot m'y friend ! Have a good day
When it comes to checking for bad tie rods, is the tire suppose to move inward at the 3 o'clock position? Is everything stops to stay stiff?

It's amazing how a few loose bolts can cause so much of a headache. I had a similar loose bolt issue. Found it by getting under the car and (with someone inside at the wheel turning) placing my hand on various parts while she turned the wheel side to side. I have a QuickJack so this was much easier and safer. Turns out it was a loose cat exhaust mesh cover that came loose after she ran too fast through a large puddle. Snapped right back in place. Problem solved... and she got a lecture on driving thru standing water lol.
Was the car in with you under there? Because it must have been if the steering lock will click in when turning the steering wheel with the car off. So was the car in with you under there?
@@Deathridaz714 I have a lift at home, so yes, I was under the car while she was turning the wheel side to side.

Thanks ! I appreciate :)
What a fantastic video! I have a 2020 WRX that’s presenting the SAME problem, that I CANT find. I’ve changed the outter tie rod end bc it was stiff, but still the noise. So the car just came back from the body shop bc a tree limb fell in front of my car, causing $10 worth of damage when I launched over it doing 60 mph. One of the things they replaced was subframe cross member. I can’t wait to put it up and hit em with the old ugga dugga. It’s definitely the same sound so thanks for making my day!
Thanks m'y friend i appreciate ! I wish you so mutch that is gonna be that too ! Thanks for watching
For checking balljoints on FWD/4x4 vehicles, i use a prybar under the tire, and visually check for play. The normal hand on 12oclock/6 oclock wiggle test only works on those cars if the balljoint is REALLY bad (shouldnt drive car until repaired), whereas the prybar will catch worn balljoints, thus giving you time to plan repair/order parts
Yea i agree m'y friend i use the pry bar method in the video 6 and 9 oclock works better for bad tie rod
Wow...this is like a really good video. This is exactly how my problem is.
Thanks to your video instead of going through all the pain, I went directly to the cross frame and found that the bolts came loose cause the cross frame is rotting...my 2005 Toyota Echo....cheapest car I ever bought in every way but that is also its downfall...that is its just too cheap.

This is known as ‘spare parts roulette’ , but you got there in the end. I thought it was going to be the steering rack was loose on the body, so I was wrong too 😂
Yess i never expected the cross frame to be loose thanks for Watching David !
Great Video... I would also have disconnected the tie rod ends one at a time to isolate both struts, .. It was a puzzler though. Well done!

I have the same problem with Alfa Romeo after I disengaged the clutch. I'm going to go to the mechanic. I hope I have the same problem.Thx for video man!
I hope to for you !!! thanks for your comment brother
I have exactly similar sound to yours, but it occur when I'm breaking on slow speed. The mechanic check and suggest to replace the steering rack! How is that? My personal anticipation is the suspension because such sound is like from steel bending or torsion.
Thanks for the video!
Mine turned out to be one single under torqued wheel lug nut, only making clicking sound when I do a hard left turn.
Thanks k Wang i appreciate
Thank you buddy…
I am crazy 😢 with my car with the same noise. But cannot find out. Every time I drive on the street and turn the wheel, the noise comes on… before that I think bearings problem and I replaced. The noise is still…

@@basicdetail4512 thank you brother you too
@Marco B, damn brother, I have a 2014 Audi A7 same problem. I brought it to a mechanic and he somehow got it to stop sounding. But after a month it seems like it’s happening again
I was at the drive thru yesterday getting food and heard clicking or ticking while i was stopped, i had moved the wheel by accident and heard it so i started to turn my wheel all the way left and definitely heard clicking the whole time my wheel was turning, i cant hear anything as im driving because of the street noises and i cant hear it inside the car unless its quiet and the windows are down, i also dont know if the passenger side is doing it too but the driver side is for sure making the sound. would that be the axle or maybe the bearings? i just paid $1100 on all new tires, brakes and rotors 2 months ago and if i can diagnose it myself i can replace it myself because the place i go to charges 250 just to tell me the problem.
Hi friend the car is stop and you turn the steering left to right There is a good chance to be a bad tie Rod end ... AT this point Do the 9 & 3 hours test with the front wheel of the Ground ...if IT a bad Axel make a 360° Sharp turn the noise should increase with the speed ... Good luck
wow. Thanks for the video! you went through alot of troubleshooting to figure that out. I'm having the same issue on my Avalon. I checked the suspension and everything is good but I still hear a noise coming from the front end :(

I have a similar noise on an 8th gen Civic but its much more quiet. I think its a new problem. I got under the car and visually the suspension looks good, but after watching your video, i’m wondering if the lower engine/ torque mount could be the issue. I noticed the bushing looked bad on one half.
I can also hear the noise at slow speed when also braking & acceleration. Not just slow speed steering. Any ideas?

Did you find out what was the problem?
Check the bolts on your SUBFRAME. I had the same issue, and after replacing the whole suspension, the issue continued. I found a bolt that was loose on the subframe and fixed the issue.
Yeap at the end of the video I find it and just like you it was the subframe
how would you describe the sound made at 3:10 on the "lower control arm ball joint test"? I find it hard to describe
You mean the sound of the tire against the pry bar?
@@basicdetail4512 it was the tire rubbing with the pry bar? totally missed that, I thought it was something else! but yes, the sound that is heard each time the pry bar is lowered... what word would you use to describe the sound?
@@clavarojwt Thats hard to describe the sound , m'y first Language is french so im far to be the best person to help you on That ... But im Curious why you want to Know how to describe that
@@basicdetail4512 because my first language is not English, and I'm trying to figure out how to describe the symptoms my car has so I may research it further. Basically, there's a creaking/squeaking sound that I've managed to reliably reproduce if I turn the wheels to either side, and then rock the car by pushing it sideways (not vertically), engine off or on, brakes on or off, doesn't matter.
I'm having a very similar problem with a sonata 2006, I suspect that since I changed the lower control arms, I didn't torqued them enough. I will check it out. Thanks.
I hope for you this is just that ! Thanks for watching
Hey sir I watched the whole video I understood everything up until the last moment lol so what was the ending problem that helped you fix that creaking noise because my car is doing that at the moment. It was a loose bolt?
The problem was due to a loose Bolt That is job is to hold the subframe in place ... The dealer remplace the engine and he as to remove the subframe to swap IT ... But he forgot to tight correctly one Side of the subframe ... Hope ITs more clear thanks for Watching m'y friend

@ Basic Detail hey sir how you doing today ? I have a question I have the same issue with my 2010 Acura MDX when I move the sterring wheel and the car is in park I heard that screak noise in the passenger side I’m not sure what is it but I changed the front struts , stabilizer bar bushing and stabilizer bar links I don’t see nothing weird in my suspension I try to lift the car in jack stand and put some weight on the suspension with a jack as you did and I heard nothing but when is in the ground you can heard it turning the sterring wheels. Could my issue be the same as you because I remember a time I went to my mechanic to changed the motor mounts he put the cross member down a bit and the car was doing the same noise when moving the sterring and I take the car back and he fit it but one years later is doing the same weird noise. Do you know what was the exactly thing your mechanic do to fix your issues in your car ?
Hi Hansell im fine thanks i swear you are good too ! The cross member story make me think you got the same issue than me ! So AT your question the only thing m'y mecanic as doing is to torque the cross member AT the wright Spec the Driver Side was torque pretty close to Factory but the Passenger Side wasn't tight AT all ...since he tight all the Bolt of the cross member with the torque wrench Specs everything is quiet ! Please give me news about IT im Curious of what IT was
