You are a life saver, I was convinced it was the strut. I took it apart like 4 times and replaced so many parts. This was the exact noise on my 2016 Corolla. Found 3 of the subframe bolts were loose and like magic the sound disappeared. I can’t thank you enough.

I wonder if that's the issue with my Sentra. 2013...new struts and lower control arms installed also rear stabilizer bars. I hear a creaking/vibration upon acceleration on my driver's side area. I started with rebranding the tires...no dice. I'll have my mechanic check the rear and sub frame bolts. The sound is like a loose something or other. Thanks for the video!

@Marco B, damn brother, I have a 2014 Audi A7 same problem. I brought it to a mechanic and he somehow got it to stop sounding. But after a month it seems like it’s happening again
Thank you buddy… I am crazy 😢 with my car with the same noise. But cannot find out. Every time I drive on the street and turn the wheel, the noise comes on… before that I think bearings problem and I replaced. The noise is still… Now I think may be it is the same problem with your car. 👍👍👍👍👍
For 6 months my husband has been trying to find my creak he checked everything replaced things just in case greased where he could (i don't have refillable joints) it would lessen with silicone spray all over the joints but never go away. Before the noise started my cel and wrench popped on and got a transmission fault. He did a filter replace and fluid partial replacement (after 9 years having this car and not know when it was last done before me the did was pretty clean. Anyway he noticed the transmission mount had alot of degrading around the rubber of the mount (reason for slight clunk when shifting into reverse) he replaced that, it was about a 3 weeks later the squeak started and now I'm wondering if i may have this issue of improper torque on the when he was putting it all back together
Hi , its was fairly easy .. i didnt get any proof of maintenance because i had the car only since 2 month ... the dealer ask me to pay the full service of every fluid to give me a "chance" to prouve hyundai canada my car was maintain
I had same problem. Tak tak sound. Check drive shaft ok. Link kit ok. Ball joint ok. And im not change the engine. So maybe not from bolt subframe like you. Now im headache. Dont know whre the sound came from.
@@basicdetail4512 it was the tire rubbing with the pry bar? totally missed that, I thought it was something else! but yes, the sound that is heard each time the pry bar is lowered... what word would you use to describe the sound?
@@clavarojwt Thats hard to describe the sound , m'y first Language is french so im far to be the best person to help you on That ... But im Curious why you want to Know how to describe that
@@basicdetail4512 because my first language is not English, and I'm trying to figure out how to describe the symptoms my car has so I may research it further. Basically, there's a creaking/squeaking sound that I've managed to reliably reproduce if I turn the wheels to either side, and then rock the car by pushing it sideways (not vertically), engine off or on, brakes on or off, doesn't matter.
got same problem but rather like cluncking/cracking noise, 3 garages check and found nothing. Changed shocks/coil springs/strut mountings and strut bearing and it's even worst. Need to tell garage to check all bolts on subframe than
Mine was only noisy when i am stationary and i turn the steering wheel. It sounds like grinding rubber and it really vibrate the entire car.It doesnt sound when it is lifted up it only sounds when the wheels were on the ground.
Great video, i have volvo xc90 with the same noise.. i have replaced the strut kit ,the low arms ,sway bar link, joint ball 😢, still there that f.. noise. all the 5 motor mount too

I have a similar noise on an 8th gen Civic but its much more quiet. I think its a new problem. I got under the car and visually the suspension looks good, but after watching your video, i’m wondering if the lower engine/ torque mount could be the issue. I noticed the bushing looked bad on one half. I can also hear the noise at slow speed when also braking & acceleration. Not just slow speed steering. Any ideas?
Check the bolts on your SUBFRAME. I had the same issue, and after replacing the whole suspension, the issue continued. I found a bolt that was loose on the subframe and fixed the issue.
I'm about to find out if your tutorial would solve my issue as well. Replaced almost all lose parts in suspension but nothing works. Recently, a mechanic replaced the steering rack and had to loosen the crossmember and diff support during the installation. So this might possibly be the same issue that I'm encountering now. Question, do hear thumping noise on uneven roads? Thanks so much for sharing this video. I love the way you explained things in detail (speaks strong of your channel name). So you got another subscriber in me. 🤙
So basically youre saying you have problem with a bolt on the transmission.i recently change the transmission kit assembly so they pulled it down.is it probably that there is the problem.
Just use a meter of garden hose pipe. Put one end in your ear and the other end put near all the different components. Have a helper move the steering wheel to make the noise and the pipe will be your stethoscope.

I have a very similar noise on my Hyundai although only when stationary and seems to get worse as the heat increases, was this similar to what you experienced? Thanks for the video
I had a Honda Accord which I just installed new rear springs and ended up with a creaking noise on the driver rear area. It turned out I had over tightened a few bolts back which caused the creak. I bought a new torque wrench and tightened all things back there to spec and no more noise.

I really hope IT Will help you ! M'y goal with this video was precisely to help figure where those kind of noise can come from ! Give me news if you find IT ! Good luck
I am going through a same creaking noise . ( creaking noise not squeaking) same as the video. It only does it while driving over the hump. Skoda rapid 1.2 automatic 2015. I have sprayed everything with silicone lube, it’s been a week jacking up and looking under and doing everything to recreate the noise. I have given up. Going in garage next week. If anyone got any ideas please …

At 8:57, would have been nice if you used a auto stethoscope (with rod probe ...about $25), and touched various components to listen for the noise. Is best way to pinpoint noise.
Or a screwdriver as a stethoscope I used a screwdriver to find out my fuel pressure sensor was tapping and not my whole head thank god🤣🤣cheap and cheerful
This is the exact problem i have on 2017 kia sportage but I didn’t have an engine swap or work of any kind in that area what was your issue you found ? My dealer mechanic cannot find the issue
I was at the drive thru yesterday getting food and heard clicking or ticking while i was stopped, i had moved the wheel by accident and heard it so i started to turn my wheel all the way left and definitely heard clicking the whole time my wheel was turning, i cant hear anything as im driving because of the street noises and i cant hear it inside the car unless its quiet and the windows are down, i also dont know if the passenger side is doing it too but the driver side is for sure making the sound. would that be the axle or maybe the bearings? i just paid $1100 on all new tires, brakes and rotors 2 months ago and if i can diagnose it myself i can replace it myself because the place i go to charges 250 just to tell me the problem.
Hi friend the car is stop and you turn the steering left to right There is a good chance to be a bad tie Rod end ... AT this point Do the 9 & 3 hours test with the front wheel of the Ground ...if IT a bad Axel make a 360° Sharp turn the noise should increase with the speed ... Good luck
My santafe 2013 I have replaced 2 shock absorbers, bearings, genuine mounting, with all the support columns and steering rack, but the noise problem still does not go away, when I step outside and turn the steering wheel, there is no noise or when I lift the car 1mm, there is no more noise.
Hey sir I watched the whole video I understood everything up until the last moment lol so what was the ending problem that helped you fix that creaking noise because my car is doing that at the moment. It was a loose bolt?
The problem was due to a loose Bolt That is job is to hold the subframe in place ... The dealer remplace the engine and he as to remove the subframe to swap IT ... But he forgot to tight correctly one Side of the subframe ... Hope ITs more clear thanks for Watching m'y friend

@Marco B, damn brother, I have a 2014 Audi A7 same problem. I brought it to a mechanic and he somehow got it to stop sounding. But after a month it seems like it’s happening again
Thank you buddy…
I am crazy 😢 with my car with the same noise. But cannot find out. Every time I drive on the street and turn the wheel, the noise comes on… before that I think bearings problem and I replaced. The noise is still…
Now I think may be it is the same problem with your car.
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks m'y friend I hope that you gonna find !
Thanks for sharing! I hope that you will find it 🙏
Thanks for sharing us this diagnose
I learned a lot 🎉😊
Thanks for your comment I appreciate brother
How easy or hard was it to get Hyundai to agree to an engine replacement? Can you walk me thru the process involved to get that done? Thanks.
Hi , its was fairly easy .. i didnt get any proof of maintenance because i had the car only since 2 month ... the dealer ask me to pay the full service of every fluid to give me a "chance" to prouve hyundai canada my car was maintain

When it comes to checking for bad tie rods, is the tire suppose to move inward at the 3 o'clock position? Is everything stops to stay stiff?
Cracking noise when applying breaks, what might be a cause
Thanks for your time making this video
Thanks m'y friend your welcome 😊
how would you describe the sound made at 3:10 on the "lower control arm ball joint test"? I find it hard to describe
You mean the sound of the tire against the pry bar?
Need to tell garage to check all bolts on subframe than
This is a nightmare ! Hope for you that is the bolt too
Mine was only noisy when i am stationary and i turn the steering wheel. It sounds like grinding rubber and it really vibrate the entire car.It doesnt sound when it is lifted up it only sounds when the wheels were on the ground.
Seems to me like a control arm bushing

most definitely its not the EPS right?
What could it be if it’s the same exact noise but when you accelerate from a stop. Goes away after acceleration
Probably a control arm bushing like mine in this video ua-cam.com/video/H1fd4N7HLh0/v-deo.html

Any ideas?
Interresting , can i suggest you this video i done last year
@@basicdetail4512 absolutely! What’s the name of it?
@@leospaceman2976 sorry Brother i forget to put the link 😅 this is the video ua-cam.com/video/H1fd4N7HLh0/v-deo.html
Thanks pal! Just wanted to say i had a similar problem on a different car and it was the top of the struts. So new struts was my solution.
Check the bolts on your SUBFRAME. I had the same issue, and after replacing the whole suspension, the issue continued. I found a bolt that was loose on the subframe and fixed the issue.
Yeap at the end of the video I find it and just like you it was the subframe
I'm about to find out if your tutorial would solve my issue as well. Replaced almost all lose parts in suspension but nothing works. Recently, a mechanic replaced the steering rack and had to loosen the crossmember and diff support during the installation. So this might possibly be the same issue that I'm encountering now.
Question, do hear thumping noise on uneven roads?
Thanks so much for sharing this video. I love the way you explained things in detail (speaks strong of your channel name). So you got another subscriber in me. 🤙
Im sorry for your question i cant remember , but thanks for your comment i appreciate your share
@@basicdetail4512 no worries. keep up the good work
Does that under leaking comes from the condensation of A/C system?
Yess
I had exactly the same noise. Found out that it was the suspension strut mount bearing. Sprayed with some WD40. Problem solved.
Nice! cheap fix
Cher M. je vous remercie j’étudie la mécanique présentement p-e j’ai manqué cette partie de diagnostiquer. I have a very similar noise on my Hyundai although only when stationary and seems to get worse as the heat increases, was this similar to what you experienced? Thanks for the video
Hope you gonna find IT , maybe this video Will help you ...this Time IT was m'y control arm bushing
I had a Honda Accord which I just installed new rear springs and ended up with a creaking noise on the driver rear area. It turned out I had over tightened a few bolts back which caused the creak. I bought a new torque wrench and tightened all things back there to spec and no more noise.
Thanks for sharing that ! Very interesting how mutch torque specs can make the difference! Thanks for watching too

So what caused the issues because I shave the same
Exact problem
The answer is at the end of the video , that was the bolt of the subframe ..They were loose
To check for lower ball joint play, the jack needs to be under the lower control arm.
Yea i should mention IT Thanks
This is an amazingly thorough video! Wonderfully made!
Thanks m'y friend I appreciate
I brought my car to more than 4 different mechanics and they still couldn’t detect exactly wherethe noise was coming from , but my noise was coming from the rear , hope this video helps , I’ll try it soon ✌🏼
I really hope IT Will help you ! M'y goal with this video was precisely to help figure where those kind of noise can come from ! Give me news if you find IT ! Good luck
Did you find out what was the problem?
I am going through a same creaking noise . ( creaking noise not squeaking) same as the video. It only does it while driving over the hump.
Skoda rapid 1.2 automatic 2015.
I have sprayed everything with silicone lube, it’s been a week jacking up and looking under and doing everything to recreate the noise.
I have given up.
Going in garage next week.
If anyone got any ideas please …
Seems to me like a ball joint in the control arm ... This video ua-cam.com/video/H1fd4N7HLh0/v-deo.html even if ITs not a ball joint can help you to understand more in Deep
At 8:57, would have been nice if you used a auto stethoscope (with rod probe ...about $25), and touched various components to listen for the noise. Is best way to pinpoint noise.
Yea for sure ! M'y main concerne ITs That i was Alone during the process but Great Idea for others people are in investigation
I strongly agree
Or a screwdriver as a stethoscope I used a screwdriver to find out my fuel pressure sensor was tapping and not my whole head thank god🤣🤣cheap and cheerful
What is the name of the camera you are using? and how do you install it?
ITs simply m'y phone with a tripod cell holder
This is the exact problem i have on 2017 kia sportage but I didn’t have an engine swap or work of any kind in that area what was your issue you found ? My dealer mechanic cannot find the issue
AT the end of the video i explain IT... It was a loose subframe Bolt they torque Them AT the good specs and the noise gone
Good luck
This is literally my problem I replaced the axles inner tie rods the putter were still good but it’s still the same exact noise idk what it is
My santafe 2013 I have replaced 2 shock absorbers, bearings, genuine mounting, with all the support columns and steering rack, but the noise problem still does not go away, when I step outside and turn the steering wheel, there is no noise or when I lift the car 1mm, there is no more noise.
Look like me ! Good luck brother
@@basicdetail4512 thank you my friend for the quick reply I sub'd and liked the video is this something I could do with only a jack or would I need a car lift?
@@michaelkash5396 thanks for your subscription , i appreciate and yess you Can Do IT on Jack stand if you got a torque wrench ITs the best to be sure you are AT the right specs

I have a mustang, the guy I bought it from hit a curb on the passenger front side so for some reason now the tire rubs very bad on the inside of the tire. Anybody ever have these issues? The ball joint and lower arm of the suspension has been replaced but still does it, would it just be a tire alignment or do I need a stabilizer bar?
IT happen to me in the past make sure That your sub fram is straight and everything is square when you compare both Side and after That go align the car
