Hi, brilliant video, just had my offside front wheel bearing replaced and 2 new tyres fitted on front, balance and tracked.. was nice and quiet, no juddering at higher speeds . Driving to work after weekend, there is now a rumble type noise and definite knocking when coming off accelerator at any speed. Was wondering if could be loose wheel nuts... ? Car is 2010 volvo v50 1.6 diesel. Any advice greatly appreciated before going back to garage . They also checked entire suspension at front and said all was fine
I'm surprised that I know exactly what all these things are as he is explaining. I'm glad I was raised well! 😅 right now I'm pretty sure I'm hearing my driveshaft Ujoint rattle and it probably needs a lube... things have been rough...maintenance things are past due.
I’ve been to 5 different ppl. I’ve had my struts replaced and both axels replaced and still had a rattling issue... for over a year no one could find out what it was. This video just told me it was my sway bar links 🤦🏽♀️ $800 later . This video just saved me probably $3,000 on w.e else I would have unnecessary fixed . Really just thank you 💖🙌🏽
Thank you. My yaris made a noise similar to the first and last one today once i placed my foot on gas. Wondering what this means was thinking maybe car needs water
I think for me as a woman finding an honest mechanic is the biggest "diagnostic^ I could ever perform. Some of these noises are a simple fix but keeping a mechanic honest is definitely the hardest part. I experienced #8 the hot rod noise. Guess what it was? A shady mechanic stoled my catalytic converter and replaced it with a welded pipe. Just yesterday another one replaced a perfectly good engine mount instead of the actual problem which was the arm which is worn out and left it up to me to decide whether to replace the mount or not. So literally all he needed to do was tightened up the old engine mount along with the worn out arm until I returned with the correct part but instead he went ahead and changed a perfectly good part just because he wanted those $40 right then and there. It is 2 am and it's still bothering me so I decided to research further... it's because of people like you, providing educational videos like this that I catch the problems mechanics don't care to find. I just happened to find your video on a totally different subject along the eay.
Yesss I paid $600 for my car to still have the same problem and people need to start looking at the reviews it helps a lot they getting shady by the day
I'm not a woman but am BEYOND uneducated when it comes to mechanical work and can tell right away when i try explaining what's wrong and get taken advantage of BIG TIME.. I heard a banging when I shifted gears and saw a video on here about motor mounts and was exact what it was after the axels and a bunch of other things were replaced that didn't need to be and the engine was still banging around and just needed two simple motor mounts so I started self learning from here on out so I don't get taken advantage of again and know my stuff!!!
I understand how you would feel, though I am a man but growing up I have literally watched mechanics and repairers and dealers try to BS and make up shit to my mum. Little did they know that a now 46y0 qualified hairdresser/account co-owned/managed/ran a panel beating and spray paint shop with my dad for 10 years before I was born 😂. It’s priceless the look on their faces when she tells them what really is wrong. But I hate seeing them think she is stupid as a woman
About a year or so ago I was looking into ways to get better gas mileage in my car, then it turned into making sure the 33 year old truck I own is safe to drive as well... 1 year and $6-700 in tools later and I'm doing all my own mechanical work, helping friends and I just love it. My truck is about as safe as a truck built 30+ years ago can be, and I've done thousands of dollars worth of work to it for pennies on the dollar. And it's all done right! No lies!
Finally, a car channel that has examples of bad sounding noises from cars. The car noise sound effects truly helps. I have a car noise and i think it's a bad stabilizer link because I just replaced the brake pads due to the grinding noise. Damn mechanics wasn't looking at other stuff within that area while fixing my car.
This is the greatest car help video format ever conceived. Comment section solved the only issue I had. Absolutely beautiful thank you everyone involved.
Thank you soo much ! I am a woman and I don’t really know much about cars . My dad passed away and so has my grandpa. I don’t have anyone close to ask about my car noises . This was very helpful!!!
I took my Honda to the dealer for a genuine Honda mass air flow sensor and found out later they might not have changed it at all. They charged me $300 for nothing. The next guy who looked at it wouldn't come right out and say so (and he had a thick accent) but he kept asking if they really changed it.
I feel like it’s unlikely, most dealership mechanics have to report to a manager and I doubt they’d risk their job, but ask for your old part back and see what they say!
Thank you. I'm an older woman who left all mechanical stuff up to my late husband. And since he's gone it's hard asking people you know. I've gotten all kinds of diagnostics from friends which haven't helped me as much as this video. Thanks

I've had this rattle for a month now and no other video shows you how the part isn't supposed to move, or includes the noise! Many thanks...very helpful with the noise examples so clear on the audio, but also the very clear camera work...and this has really helped me understand the parts being referenced whilst looking through car MOTs whilst trying to find a new car and where its weak points are :)

Fantastic Guy!! no nonsense & super straight-forward/helpful. Thanks for being so factual & direct to the point, unlike so many 'help' UA-camrs. PS. You look exactly like a guy I graduated high school with in Vancouver Canada way back in '99. Uncanny resemblance almost like twins.
I've had a rattle noise under the hood for at least a year, so in trying to diagnose the sound the mechanic found I needed both CV axle, shaft and seals replaced and outer tie rod. I have experienced two of these sounds in last 1-2 months( after 8.5 years of my car) …and they were accurate in what it is shown in the video…being muffler sound and alternator belt getting damaged…thank you for explaining them nicely

But I'm listening for a sound that happens when my car has been driven for a while and it's all warmi will l come to a stop and soon as I take off it makes a clicking noise but not very long after I take off. I also have a low whine when I start my car .
You are the best bro. Best video ever. I have a rolling sound when I am driving on the highway. It increases with acceleration. This started when my 18- year son drove through a big flood ( high up to the engine) when it rained.
dude ive been trying to figure out that wheel bearing problem for 2 weeks now, couldnt diagnose it.. THANK YOUUU... As an amateur DIY-er, and a very stingy person who doesn't take it to the shop, you saved me HEADACHES, and money :)
I can see you made around 10 videos per year but this is the most helpful video I have seen yet for car noise issues and you deserve more views. My car is new 10K driven, 1st service done. Some kind of loose nut sound comes when accelerating sometimes at random and a squeaking belt like noise which is also random. Going to get a look at it at dealership soon but the issue is sound is random and I can't reproduce it at will even when I am doing the same stuff I did when sound 1st came.
@@AllAroundDaryl Some loose parts under the dashboard. They tightened it up but comes right back in a few months. At first I thought they did a poor job but I noticed a trend, It comes when seasons change. My guess is some stuff compress/relax when seasons changes and it has to be adjusted again also, if it helps my car is close to 50K rn. A few potholes every now and then could also be contributing to the problem but it is mostly fine now. They sort it for free when servicing so all good.
You just don’t know how much this helped me I’ve been looking through videos on videos trying to find some kind of clue but when I heard the same sound of the axle it gave me a great amount of relief THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
Awesome video! I’m new to the mechanical world since I just got my car and it has so many issues with it, happy to find that it was only the belt issue I could relate to in this vid 😂 the audio examples make this extra helpful!
This has got to be the best video on car noises I have ever watched. Witt the help of this video, and the recording of the noise of my car, I might be able to fix my car. Much appreciated and thank you!!!
Bravo. Your video is short and simple. Yet it also covers enough to get across what’s most relevant about each possible problem. Your information doesn’t even need to directly solve my problem. You’ve at least sent me down the right path to diagnosing my problem so I can fix it.
I've been looking for a way to describe the noise I'm hearing on my car because it's not consistent but sounds terrible. After watching/listening to this video, I think I've heard it. This is awesome! Thank you!
Hi, am morton. I am currently an automechanic, I really love cars so when I graduated from hight school, I started in an automechanic shop. I love educational videos like this. I which I had a brilliant teacher like this to teach me physically.
Work like a charm.. the way I saved much money through time, especially when it was one little eight dollar fuse one time that saved Me from paying over four hundred dollars at a shop
Nice one. Probably a break pad then, which is a relief. Many thanks. I appreciate learning about the other possible noises and causes and will feel more confident in the future.
You are freaking amazing!! You just educated me on the three noises that I have been hearing on my car for a long time. I can’t wait to get them fixed now that I know exactly what the problems are. Thank you!! Freaking a.mazing!!!! 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
Great video I love how you had all the sounds for the problem which help me find my problem I fell like I know everything now thanks alot🙌😇 keep it up💯
Hi Josh, Thank you for sharing your knowledge thru this video. Thumbs up! My car (automatic transmission) sometimes makes a growling noise when I go downhill. But I can't hear any noise when I drive uphill or normal flat surface. Can you point out the possible problem with this situation and noise?
So good!. I've just replaced cv joint and noise still there, sounds more like the stabiliser joint noise when turning wheel whilst driving or reversing from parked. I call it a grinding ball bearing noise .
This is the best video I have seen. I love the fact that you put the sound of different noises. This helped me tremendously. Also the way you explain things in detail. Thank you so much for sharing this awsome video
Finally someone who actually recorded the noises. Such a simple thing to do but many do not include it. The stabilizer link sound sounds fairly similar to my issues. but mine is more of a clonking noice, as if you have something loose in the baggage hold, but it comes from near the passanger door instead and is kinda muffled when you are inside the car. This just reaffirms my belief that something is fucked up with something when it comes to the parts of the front wheel. Gonna look in my haynes book and see where the lifting points are for my car and lift it on sunday and do the wheel checks etc.
What about a screeching/groaning type noise whenever I shift my car into park. It goes away whenever Im in drive, reverse, etc. but the noise almost always returns whenever I'm in park.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone include the noises in the actual video itself. Most helpful video I've ever found
Lmao nothing like someone trying to describe a noise when they can instead try to record it happening
100% this was great
Awesome video!!!!!!
Indeed best video I have ever watch about noises under the car!!!!

I can see you made around 10 videos per year but this is the most helpful video I have seen yet for car noise issues and you deserve more views. My car is new 10K driven, 1st service done. Some kind of loose nut sound comes when accelerating sometimes at random and a squeaking belt like noise which is also random. Going to get a look at it at dealership soon but the issue is sound is random and I can't reproduce it at will even when I am doing the same stuff I did when sound 1st came.
i have this same problem
have you found out what it was
@@AllAroundDaryl Some loose parts under the dashboard.
THANK YOU!!! after 50 videos you gave me the answers i need. With out all unnecessary talking.
Helpful video. I appreciate the list you provide in the video. It's easy to find where you start to talk about each problem.
You just don’t know how much this helped me I’ve been looking through videos on videos trying to find some kind of clue but when I heard the same sound of the axle it gave me a great amount of relief THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
Glad it could help! That’s why I make these videos!
I am excited to find a video that resonates with my unexperienced diagnosis, I feel validated.
Here for you!!
Lucky for this guy to have experienced all these issues and record the sounds.
Awesome video! I’m new to the mechanical world since I just got my car and it has so many issues with it, happy to find that it was only the belt issue I could relate to in this vid 😂 the audio examples make this extra helpful!
Great! Glad it helped!
This has got to be the best video on car noises I have ever watched.
Witt the help of this video, and the recording of the noise of my car, I might be able to fix my car.
Much appreciated and thank you!!!
Blessings, John 3:16. Jesus loves you.
Thank you
What?
💜💞💜
Bravo.
Your video is short and simple. Yet it also covers enough to get across what’s most relevant about each possible problem.
Your information doesn’t even need to directly solve my problem. You’ve at least sent me down the right path to diagnosing my problem so I can fix it.
Such a great video, having noise samples is much appreciated.
Thanks 🤙🏽
I've been looking for a way to describe the noise I'm hearing on my car because it's not consistent but sounds terrible. After watching/listening to this video, I think I've heard it. This is awesome! Thank you!
Amazing video... most helpful and straight to the point video I’ve seen! You’ve gained a subscriber.
Thanks for the subscribe 👍🏼

Who else checks UA-cam first before taking to shop? lol
🙋♀️ yes 😂
Meee
That's me now 😂😂
Work like a charm.. the way I saved much money through time, especially when it was one little eight dollar fuse one time that saved Me from paying over four hundred dollars at a shop
I do. UA-cam helped me fix my ac unit at home, change my alternator on my truck and showed me how to make soft and chewy oatmeal raisin cookies 😅
I love how you added all the sounds! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Nice one. Probably a break pad then, which is a relief. Many thanks. I appreciate learning about the other possible noises and causes and will feel more confident in the future.
I just want to thank your parents for having you. I have been buying parts and it the cv axel here;s a hug. thank you
I’ll pass it on ;)

Hi Josh, Thank you for sharing your knowledge thru this video. Thumbs up! My car (automatic transmission) sometimes makes a growling noise when I go downhill. But I can't hear any noise when I drive uphill or normal flat surface. Can you point out the possible problem with this situation and noise?
Two minutes in and I’ve got what I need. Saved me loads of time. Quality video thank you!
Good content. Clear, precise and concise...
you absolutely saved my life with this video!
Thank you for your video! The audio clip helps a great deal when trying to diagnose my vehicle 😀
good job with giving examples of sound . i went through over 20 vids and ur the only one.
best helpful and accurate explanation video ever ✨❤️
thanks a lot for your effort to make this great video , please keep up the good work !
So good!. I've just replaced cv joint and noise still there, sounds more like the stabiliser joint noise when turning wheel whilst driving or reversing from parked.
I call it a grinding ball bearing noise .
Thanks this is the comment I needed. Will be replacing stabilizers before the cv joints. It's a grinding/poping noise?
Your intro sound scares the shizzy out of me but ur content is good, keep it up man
This is the best video I have seen. I love the fact that you put the sound of different noises. This helped me tremendously. Also the way you explain things in detail. Thank you so much for sharing this awsome video
You're welcome 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Finally someone who actually recorded the noises. Such a simple thing to do but many do not include it.
The stabilizer link sound sounds fairly similar to my issues. but mine is more of a clonking noice, as if you have something loose in the baggage hold, but it comes from near the passanger door instead and is kinda muffled when you are inside the car.
This just reaffirms my belief that something is fucked up with something when it comes to the parts of the front wheel.
Gonna look in my haynes book and see where the lifting points are for my car and lift it on sunday and do the wheel checks etc.
Oh and I might as well check the driver seat front tire too just to be sure, sometimes I mistake the direction of sounds.
What about a screeching/groaning type noise whenever I shift my car into park. It goes away whenever Im in drive, reverse, etc. but the noise almost always returns whenever I'm in park.
Same this what happening to mine in drive or reverse a grinding type noise
The bottom line is for women especially , it a huge blessing!!! Has a single mother with health iuess and mechanics looking at me has a dollars sound
Well, I’m not going to work this morning lol
😂😂😂😂😂😅😂😂😂😂
Lmao
