I agree with you on Vic's demeanor with the cop, I felt he learned from Penguin, and made himself small, like Penguin said he does while talking to the big Bosses.
Oz had a couple epic monologues (bathroom and restaurant), all I kept thinking was this is the best tv out right now and Farrell deserves every acting award for this role.
My thinking, is that the Bliss drug we saw in Ep3, is somehow gonna become a precursor to Fear Toxin, which could be a setup for Scarecrow as the next villain. It does come from Arkham, and Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane) has affiliation with Arkham asylum
You know at first I was like no way, but after watching this break down and remembering Vic had a horrible, very real episode of PTSD from the explosions, it seemed like it could very well be a side effect of a Bliss contact high. Like either Bliss has some bad side effects OR can be synthesized into a Fear like drug
I think the scene in the bathroom was Oz showing Vic how being treated like a prisoner really is like, with a literal gun to your head. Oz has been treating Vic extremely well, all things considered.
Well Oz definitely believes he’s treating Vic well simply because Vic is getting better care than Oz got from his mom or from Carmine: Oz is speaking more from the projections he’s put on Vic rather than actual investment in Vic’s prosperity
Yeaaa no, Oz is a master manipulator and the bathroom scene was literally the cherry on top of the manipulation sundae. You never know when Oz is being genuine or manipulative, but we learn at the very end who he is and always will be.

It was a “flashback” to the trauma of the explosions & flooding that killed his family. A common PTSD symptom. But you’re right It’s not really considered a “hallucination” per se, he’s reliving something that really happened to him
That opening with the water gushing down the street and ripping apart that highway was actually so harrowing. Will make me watch The Batman a little different next time.
i think one of the observations that i had was that Oz tells Victor to take space and take his time when it comes to the waiter finishing his order for him is quite contradictory when he is mad at Victor in the 44's bathroom and Victor is stuttering and Oz cuts him off. I feel he only plays the sympathy card for Victor when it suits him.
This might be my favorite episode of the series so far. Especially seeing how Oz treats Vic more as a son than a henchman. Also, I might have to work with Penguin because dang, he’s got the big bucks!
I appreciated how the large up wall shadows of bodies in the club are kind of repeated during Vic’s PTSD episode, especially since the bodies-in-water imagery wasn’t used in the original flood visuals.
The writing is amazing, the acting is amazing, the cinematography is amazing. It's great to have something done by folks who know what they are doing and both respect the source and the fans.

this episode was incredibly depressing so of course I loved it. When Penguin is seething after breaking up with Victor. Then what happened to Victors family really shows how evil The Riddlers plan was. I think it would be cool if he made several enemies that day. Itd be interesting to have The Riddler face skme consequences beyond being locked up.
I'm a bit confused by the comparison since these are two completely different shows, only connected by the rivalry between DC and Marvel. I'm enjoying both and don't see a reason to compare them. If anything, the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again would make for a more fitting comparison.
the background song in the scene with Victor and Graciela in Penguins house is "Switch" by 6lack which foreshadows how Victors morals are changing and he is somber about it.
Scarecrow. Cristin Milioti would be a perfect Scarecrow re-cast for this universe. Respect to Cillian's also terrifying performance. The seeds are there.
Also, in the end credits, a cover of the song Me and the Devil Blues is playing. The original musician, Robert Johnson, allegedly sold his soul to the devil to become a great guitar player, which worked, but soon after, he was poisoned by a jealous husband. This song could indicate that Vic sold his soul to the devil (with Oz being the devil in this case), and things will not end well for him. Just something I noticed while watching.
