- The aluminum transom plates and extension tube set the mercury to just the right height. It was too windy to get a good run in and speed test but it was definitely spraying less water back against the transom .

Thank you sir for your video. I just bought the exact same boat at Bass pro shop. I had a 13-footer with a 15 horsepower engine. It was too much which was like about 10 years ago. I got sick of standing on the side of the road again so I'm back fishing again. The thing boogie's right along buddy

Looks fast, did you get to gps it yet? I have the 6hp version. I can hit 18mph on a saturn inflatable with the stock prop, rpms hitting the rev limiter. My weight is 180 and the boat is around 80 pounds. The inflatable sucks though because it won't plane at all with 2 people. Your boat is definitely the better way to go with that horsepower.
I measured 18mph but the wind was kicking and creating too much lift. I’m going to do another run when it’s calmer. Also going to test with 2 people. My prop is 7.8x8. No rev limiter hit yet. Have fun out there!
@@subcoolboats75 Thanks, the rev limiter might be hitting when I occasionally hit 18.5 mph with the waves riding up and down but it's right around that speed is when it hits 6250-300 rpms I think on my tinytac. I tried the 9 pitch but it didn't really help top speed and lost a lot of acceleration so I put the stock 8 pitch back on.
i would be impressed if any boat with a 5hp would get up on plane with two adults onboard, id say that 5/6hp would be better of on a diplacement hull than trying to lift 200kg above water, atleast 9.9 for that to happen id say
What size is the boat and is the haul a v shape or flat bottom? I just got a 8hp yamaha and tried it on my raft, but was not really impressed. I am selling the raft and want to buy a boat similar to yours.

Its a Tracker 1232 flat bottom. You could go wider and longer with 8 hp. Maybe 1236 or 1436 size… just a thought.
