Sir Paul is a world treasure, I’m so glad his photos were found and he’s sharing them with the world. So many good ones of John especially. Paul’s actually a pretty good photographer!

I agree bb, Paul doesn't stop to explore new artistic paths. Artistic versatility and freshness personified.

I think he’s a better photographer than Linda. In fact (whisper it) Linda was a decent copyist, no more. But this lad was the best photographer. I’d trust him to take my pic.

Listening to this in Vancouver, Canada... smiling... ah, what a charming ending. That was a really lovely interview, thanks for making it available on UA-cam. (I'm old enough to have seen the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show... and have loved the Beatles ever since!)

Excellent insight to the times people lived in. McCartney sure wasn’t lucky. He had tough times just like the rest of us. Imagine losing your mom at such a tender age.

My Mom's name is Martha. Back in 1966, we were (along with the rest of my family) at Shea Stadium, NYC, for one of the last live performances ever oby The Beatles. Not too long ago, I said to her: "Mom, do you remember that song by The Ink Spots called-'If I Didn't Care'? She said-'Of course, I do'. I said-"Did you know that the same man who wrote that also wrote a song about Linda McCartney"? She said-"Really, I didn't know that". Number one back in 1947 for Buddy Clark and The Ray Noble Orchestra: "Linda". She said-"Oh, yeah, now I remember it"; whereupon she started to sing it (the final bridge): "Miracles still happen; and now my lucky stars begin to shine. The day I made Linda mine." And then she started to sing it again, and I said-"Alright Mom, that's enough; let it be." And then there's my earliest childhood friend, Jonathan. He used to work for rocker Billy Idol; and once, back in the 90s, he attended a radio interview (I believe it was on the west coast in the states) with Billy and Paul McCartney. Billy and Jonathan were making noise while Sir Paul was trying to give this interview; and according to what Jonathan told me, at one point, Sir Paul turned around and 'shussed' them. Those are true stories, folks!

Thank you for the response. I trust you've seen the movie-"The King's Speech"-starring Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter? I saw that with my Mom, Martha; the same Martha I was with for one of the last live Beatles shows ever. Her father (my maternal grandfather) was named Ernest, and he was a U.S naval officer. June 5, 1944, he was stationed off the coast of England; and on this date, he gave a speech to English and American militiary personnel present for the Normandy invasion; and sitting behind him for that was King George VI! Afterwards, they had their photo taken together, shaking hands! I remember when "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was first released in the states (early 1964), and I was listening to it with my brother, and Mom stuck her head through the door and said-"Who's that"?

Henceforward, Paul McCartney will think of Martha Kearney, along with his sheepdog, when this song comes up. She is a good interviewer.

Billy . . he was the real reason that led to their eventual breakup . . Forensics doesn't lie for those interested. Billy had that slight shit-eating grin that Paul never had, while there had never previously been any kind of animosity with John or among the group of the original 4. Contractual obligations however were pressed upon them at their weakest moment when there was already someone who had been a stand-in for Paul after he won a Paul look-a-like contest and was a good musician -- though he never created the same style of introspective music that Paul was famous for. John and Paul who had worked so well together that they shared credit for all of their songs, never again were able to do so post 1966 and they did not get on well. Billy always believed he was a better than the others, and this contributed to the break-up. The interview of Paul or Faul as George liked to call him (faux Paul -- Faul) in a crowd of people shortly after John's death is particularly interesting, as he did not know that there was not only audio, but a camera also rolling, held by someone above the crowd nearby on a stairway. "Yeah, it's a drag isn't it?" he responded without hesitation when asked about John's murder, though he claimed to be distraught when asked about it during his appearance on Letterman. However, when he leaves that interview and goes skipping through the crowd with his head high and not a care in the world -- clearly, he had no concern at all. Even if they had a severe falling out somehow, their history of accomplishing so much together would have created a heavy emotional impact on Paul at John's recent unexpected murder. The fact that he had no real concern or condolences to offer makes no sense, unless we realize this is a different individual, someone who never got along well with John or as an integral member of the group. The Italian forensics group that set out to prove the rumors false based upon photographic evidence, came to the conclusion that they were looking at two different individuals pre and post 1966 as published in the Italian Wired Magazine with forensic details.

@@rebeccaanderson9917 I'm just saying that Paul has a habit of attributing songwriting to those he considers the original artists. Often he is mistaken. Either they are not the original artists, or they are not the songwriters. That's all. It wasn't meant to be cryptic; I just find it funny, cuz it's something I keep seeing him do. Hmm. Perhaps this is also evidence that he is still alive, since I have found him doing it as early as he's been giving credit to "original" artists. In this case, he is mistaken on both counts. The original artist was The Top Notes and the writers were Phil Medley and Bert Russell.
