Great advice especially when I couldn't find the owner's manual! It worked great for me. Twenty times around the spool is about 10 to 12 feet so you don't need to wind it on and then off and then back on. I pulled off two arm lengths worth of line. Bingo, bango, bingo!
It's great once you get it, but then forget when you need to do it again. You must use a screwdriver and stick in the slot after lining both up. Make sure you're turning the right way. I believe it is the opposite way that it turns when triggered
Thank you so much for this video. I was at my wits end how to take the cover off as well as stringing it. There’s another video from someone else but is confusing especially stringing it. You made it easy. 😃

I've had nothing but trouble with my new 13" string trimmer. The trimmer won't feed the line correctly except for about 3 min running time. Then it just spins with no line feeding through the holes. I take it apart, and have noticed the line seems pinched, I rewind it per these instructions and have tried others on youtube, reassemble, turn it on... same thing. I wind it loosely, I wind it tightly, same thing.... I have tried the bump feature and it might work- might not- before it spins again with no line feeding through the holes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've written 2 notes to Dewalt Cust Serv but they have been really slow to respond. Thanks. (I have about 2 weeks before HD return policy expires)
I see that the replacement head is already completely different than this one. This one broke so I had to replace it, and it is definitely a different design.
I cannot get that head off, it jams up and then the string always becoming loose no matter how well I try to wind it. I’m just going to buy the newer one and throw this away

Glad it helped!
Thanks a ton! Showed it perfectly and got it working 👍
Glad it helped
What happens if when I turn it clockwise it stays on, in other words I can't get the head off
Not sure, I know they have already discontinued this head style as the replacement head is totally different.
Same thing happened to me. I decided to reput the battery on, turn it on a few times, bang it on the ground and then retry and it opened!!!
InwS looking for same answer when I noticed on mine there are two places to push in and it comes off look on the side easy
You just gotta wiggle it and off it comes
After you unlock it, it can be a little bit sticky but just pull it right off
This was extremely helpful 🙏🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much!! Extremely helpful
Thank you
How do you actually take the top off though? Mine won’t simply twist off like yours. I’m about ready to smash it on the ground haha

Nothing but problems with mine so im going to replace it with a Husqvarna t35. Hopefully that helps.
May have same problem. Let us know
Thank you Sir!!!!
Most welcome!

It is tough. Make sure you're going the right direction.
Line not coming out
There may be debris stuck inside. I think that the spinning action is what turns it to let the string out, but there may be as spring inside.
U struggle like I do 😂
Yes
The design is hilariously bad.......lol
Especially if you use it all the time
Terrible
I appreciate the video but I hate this trimmer for this mechanism and encourage others to buy something else.
not too much to choose from as I think this is a common design
