Thank YOU so much for this video! As a single & now widowed woman, I have the task of keeping up the lawn care and this video is most helpful. Bless you.
A lot of things aren’t difficult to do if you can get a little knowledge from someone willing to share. Thanks for watching and am glad it helped.
One of the best videos on UTube. Thanks
I stringed up this exact weed eater wrong about a year ago and haven't touched it since because it was pissing me off. I watched your video, fixed it in like 10 minutes. Thank you!
Thank you I have to rewatch every year!
One of the best “how to video” I have seen on UA-cam. Very clear and the transcript and diagrams was an extra bonus. Thank you
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hero!
SHORT AND TO THE POINT, NO NONSENSE VERY GOOD INFORMATIVE VIDEO! THANKS
Saving my life right now. Thank you!!
Straight-forward, direct and easy-to-follow instructions. This was great!
Thanks for watching. Glad it helped you.
Thank you for showing me the way, stuck cleaning my parents hillside and needed to figure out how to re-spool
Glad to help
Thank you! With your help, my 13 year old son was able to figure it out 😀
Fantastic!
Really simple demonstration. Made it a breeze to reline.
So much easier than other videos I've watched. Thank you fine sir!
Probably the best explanation on UA-cam. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback and watching it.
Thank you. My first time replacing the line and you made it so easy!
SOOOOOOOOOO Much easier than what I first saw from a video. Take it apart and use a piece of metal to hold the lower spool or something like that.. Thank you so much.
Glad it helped
I’m a relatively new lawn dad who’s been stringing this weed eater wrong for a couple of years now. The only way I could have been wronger is by leaving eight feet of string out and swinging the whole thing overhead towards the grass. Thanks for the helpful video!
Lol. That would have been something to see. Glad it helped.
Thank you very much sir. I can't tell you how many times I have referred to your video. As a female, it is worth gold to me! I am so thankful for the way you make it so simple
Thank you friend. After a year, you're still helping dummies like me.
Thanks for the kind feedback. Glad it was helpful.
Excellent tutorial. Your tip about placing string line package in a ziplock bag is valid. I just threw out almost 250' of new line that dried out (breaks right off when trying to use it). I now buy a smaller package.
Trimmer line from Home Depot;
Universal Fit .095 in. x 125 ft. Gear Replacement Line for Gas and Select Cordless String Grass Trimmer/Lawn Edger
Glad it was helpful! Some people don’t believe the line can dry out. The 3D printer industry learned that it can pretty quickly. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This is UA-cam at its very best. Straight to business, clear instructions. I saved a ton of time versus mucking around with the inscrutable manual. Subscribed.
Thanks.
Thank you so much! My dad passed away a few years ago and I ended up with his Dewalt trimmer. It just ran out of string the other day and I was going to Amazon to order another supply of it. I was going to get the spools but now I’m just going to order this line and do it myself. I think Dad would be proud. Thank you!
Sorry about your dad. Glad the video helped.
This is exactly what I needed to see. Thank you, sir!
Glad to hear it helped. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for making this easy for me truly value and appreciate what you do here
Glad you enjoy it!
Handy tip if your plastic collar doesn't move remove the head grass tends to get wrapped around and won't allow the collar to move. Great video 👍
Simple, concise and clearly explained!
Better than all the other videos on line
Thank you!! Great instructions make the task straightforward!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for yet another UA-cam University class. 😊
I learn best by seeing it done. I took one apart to fix a problem and got into ripping it all down to it's parts. I had a back up on I bought and messed something up on it. With your video and a few other's I'm now a pro at this weed trimmer. This time around you saved me $40. I can use that same money to make about $200 now.
Good to hear it helped. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! The manual didn't show the speed head so your video was a great help.
Glad it helped you.
❤thank you. My first time seeing you and first time changing the line. Thank you so much 😊🎉
Best instructions!!! Took me minutes after watching this. Others had me ready to return tool. Thank you!!!
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
@@FixItDepot Thanks
Thanks, I inherited this model and while its way better than the old gas one I had before, changing the line in this one confused the hell out of me. Thanks for the guide
Glad I could help!
Best video on this trimmer by far.
😃
Thanks.
Thank you, that was so easy. I wasn't tempted to use MrSledgehammer even once.👍
No problem 👍
Great instructional video! Clear cut, easy to follow. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the instructions! No info came with the trimmer saying how to successfully refill the line!!
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing😁
Thanks for this easy to follow video!
You're welcome!
Gets a like from me. Simple instructions and helped me so it gets a like.
Nicely done sir.
Great video! Thank you
Definitely appreciate the simplicity of the video...
Thanks. Please give it a like and think about subscribing.
Thanks! Now I know how to do mine when it runs out!
Hope it helps you.
@@FixItDepot what is the noise in the background
Excellent vid, thanks!
Great video, thanks!
Excellent break down! Thanks 😊
Fantastic
Thank you so much for being a awesome instructor 😃
Very helpful. Thank you !
Best thing I ever did was to swap out the crappy DeWalt head with a Husqvarna head. Took 2 minutes and now no more constant clogging!
Did you have the same head as the one in this video. It has never given me any problems. At least if it does I can move to the Husqvarna head.
That was great did it and it was so easy I put industrial trimmer wire in I found it cut like a petrol one and the battery life went a lot further so I would recommend getting good not cheap like I had in it before 🇬🇧 subbed
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video! Big help thanks 👍🏽
This is a great video. Took me 4 bad videos to find yours. Thank you
Glad it helped you. Thanks for the positive feedback.

Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video! Thanks alot
Thank you very much. I was having trouble respooling for my first time, and this was easy to follow. Appreciate it.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@FixItDepot That first time I referenced, I actually had to respool about 10 or so feet because the string one one end came out. However, today I just re-filled it from empty to 25 feet. I watched your video again for a refresher. Your video is great and has clear directions. Thanks again!
Heck yea thank you...I norm cut grass when drinking so I have to revisit this often😂
I understand that lol.
Best one I've seen, Thanks
Good to here it was helpful. I try to edit and make the video short as possible, but useful.
Good video buddy. Thx alot
Very helpful thank you!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much
Easy as can be. I’m so glad this was the first video I clicked on. Now if you can just come operate it for me 😂. Thanks.
Good that it helped. I listen to music while weedeating. makes it a little better.

You're welcome!
Thanks
well done...good instructions
Thanks.
much appreciated
I am saving this video for reference. We just got this trimmer and we have yet to use it.
Good idea. It is a good trimmer.
when you take the cap off, around 3:30, there is a centre cap you can take off as well. this will allow you to thread the line very easily.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Greg’s wife!
Thank you sr 🎉
Thank u, this helped me a lot
Glad it helped!
Thank you sr.
Very Helpful Video 🤙🤙
Glad to hear that! Thanks for the feedback.
Great thanks
You are welcome
Thanks!
Ive found the .095 string threads easier
Thanks for the feedback. I will start using that one too when current supply runs out. Stiffer and doesn’t curl up as easy.
Excellent! I see the manual says “use only DeWalt trimmer line”.
Is that a must?
No. You can use other brands.
Thank you sir
Thanks for watching.
This lady thanks you.
Thank you for watching. Glad it helped.
Thanks for the video , been having problems with mine ..... when I tap for more string when using it will not feed .
This model is a self feeder, tapping it for more string will damage the weed eater head my man
Sorry, Papi, this is not an autofeed. It's a bump feed, but a poorly designed one. The gap is too big and gets clogged. I carry a finish nail with me and clear the head regularly. It's annoying. I don't recommend this trimmer because of this trimmer head.
Thanks!
Thanks for the support.
I'm doing exactly this to respool it, but it is often not feeding when tapped. I've had it completely jammed where the string is wrapped over itself internally and I have to open it unwrap it a bit then re-feed it through back out. Any thoughts or tips, I'm finding it almost unusable.
Try keeping a small amount of tension on the string as you wind it onto the spool. Good luck with it.
I have a question. How do you clean out the top where you said to take a small screwdriver out flick it out of the top. Not your words, but close enough.... May I unscrew the 4 top screws and be able to clean real good? The grass is way down in there and I can't get it out. Thanks
I glad to hear the video was helpful. I don't think I would take the screws out and clean it further. It certainly wasn't designed to remove the screws and need that extra cleaning. Thanks again for the kind feedback.
@@FixItDepot Thanks for reply Mr Fix it .
1 saw million of video guides on how to load the new strong and none on them did show how to extend the string after it was chopped off. Other well design quick load spools allow us to push and the string will come out. So how do we get string to going out? How?
When mine broke off in the spool, I had to take it apart and to unwind some string manually. Was a pain.
I loaded the string as shown in the video and turn the ring so the string is wrapping around the spool. As soon as I start trimming the a bunch of the string comes out. What am I doing wrong that the string isn't staying put on the spool??
Sorry but it is hard know. Here is a couple things to check. Is the spool stuck in the upper position as when it is being tapped on the ground to release string. This is the most probable cause. Grass gets wrapped around the top of the spool and when you tap it to let spring out it gets stuck in the upper position and keeps feeding.
Only put about 20 feet of string on. Are you putting more?
Did anyone take the internals apart and maybe it was put together incorrectly?
Thanks,
Is this 60v Dewalt weed eater compatible w rotary scissors attachment?
I don’t know.
Excellent tutorial thank you.
Do you install shower tile ? 😂
Yea as a DIY’er. I have videos on that too lol.
Thanks alot very helpfull. But i did it several times. And it consumes all 10 to 15 feet of string in less than a couple of minutes
When you bump the head on the ground it moves the head up toward the deflector plate and allows string out. I wonder if something is keeping the head from popping back out. Look for vines or grass that might have the head stuck in the upper position. If you do not find anything wrong there, check out the spring and see if it is installed correctly. Hope that helps.
I try to feed like in the video but After I put the string through and even the string I can turn the head. It move a bit and stuck. Do i have to remove head to fix something first?
If it is not rotating then maybe something is wrapped around the shaft and jamming it. take the head completely off and make sure string or grass is not stopping it from turning.
@@FixItDepot I completely took the head off and found that the shaft is jam as you said. I removed it, Now it working fine. Thanks.
