Jackfruit also works well as a substitute for pulled pork.

Love ur recipes Anja. Just became vegan this year. Your channel is my fav bcos the ingredients in ur recipes are easy to find. I've tried ur vegan mayo, vegan omelette, banana/oatmeal smoothie and they're all delicious. I'm trying this out today bcos I just found sunflower seeds where I come from and I just got some fresh jackfruit the other day and stored them in the freezer. I know this sandwich is gonna be delicious. Thank you for the recipes. Looking fwd to many more on this channel❤️

I'm from Singapore and jackfruit is pretty common around here. but to use it as tuna or meat substitutes is a strange thing that I've got to wrap my head around. I don't know if I'd like it, but will give it a try. My mum loves young jackfruit though. and the way we make it is cooking it with green curry. over rice it's pretty delicious.

I love your enthusiasm, and can't wait to try some of your recipes. My husband and I went vegetarian 4 years ago, then vegan two years ago but fell into the trap of eating tonnes of pasta, rice and vegan substitute foods of which there is an abundance in the uk. This has resulted in us both putting on so much weight. I also watched forks over knives and really wanted to go plant based but couldn't quite get there. Your videos are going to change all that. I am getting my shopping list together and taking a before picture just so I can let you know how things are in six months time. Thank you for putting all the effort in to making your videos and for making the recipes so easy to follow. Debra

Going to have to try this. This recipe is going to become what people are going to eat instead of real tuna for two main reasons. 1.We are over fishing the tuna. 2. With the radiation from Fukushima pouring 100,000 gallons of radioactive water into the sea EVERY DAY SINCE 2011, all aquatic life is being affected. Thanks for the healthy sustainable alternative :)

I'm a big time sandwich person and tuna sandwiches was one of my favorites. Since becoming vegan, that was one thing I really missed. I've tried mock tuna in the can and was highly disappointed, so I've been afraid to even attempt to whip up vegan tuna salad, but of course it's now 2016 and there has been a lot of creative plant-base recipes on youtube ... I looked at a few channels and found you. I was already subscribed to you, but missed this one. This looks and sounds most similar of what the flavor and texture I've been craving and missed. With all the crap going on in the ocean and so forth, I'm happy as being vegan that I finally found this. Thank you so much. It's late right now, but I'm most likely going to whip this up tomorrow.

+CookingWithPlants If You cooked the jackfruit with lavabread & soaked it in lavabread water it would take on an even better taste of the sea & You can ever add lavabread to the sandwich to add even more of a sea taste. A touch of white vinegar just before seasoning or some fresh lemon juice would absolutely make this dish too & fresh dill is another good one with mock seafood as it is traditionally served with fish as is Dill. Just a few suggestions :)
