    This is one of the best tasking salad dressing Ive made. Absolutely delicious, but it was way to thin. I tried adding more seeds but then it became gritty. Ill be playing with it to get it thicker. thank you for the upload.

    I really enjoyed this Anja because it doesn't have that 'beany' taste you can get from soya based dressings.
    I stirred it through a mix of rocket, watercress & baby spinach and made a sandwich with added slices of mixed pickled veg... not to everyone's taste I know, but I thought it was delish!

    I made this and doubled the recipe so it would be enough for my big blender and it turned orange.. I feared that I messed it all up but it was delicious! Also used cashews instead of sunflower seeds. It works and it's so good thank you :)

      Not sure why it turned orange... at least it tasted good :-)

      Maybe the paprika? Her recipe uses 1/2 tps. Possibly cut back on that ingredient to 1/4 tsp?

    I love this dressing! If I am out of fresh parsley , I will use kale as a substitute ... I have found, based on my tastebuds, that the "garlic" is the key ingredient. I've tried your dressing without the garlic, and it lacked the punch! Thank you for sharing such wonderful recipes, you are truly a positive source of energy.

    I ground up my sunflower seeds into a powder, and so I was wondering if you could make one with the powder as well. Also, some people use aquafaba whatever that is, would that make it like a creamier recipe?

    You can use some soft tofu in there as well instead of sunflower seeds to make it a bit thicker and use parsley flakes instead and don't blend too much so it doesn't turn green.. Just a suggestion though!! Thanks fir the recipe! Love your channel!!!

    Hi cooking with plants: You mentioned that this dressing goes well with potatoes, In Peru we have a traditional dish call Papa a la Huancayna,, which is boiled potatoes served with a creamy mix made out of with a peruvian cheese something like fetta cheese (I think is call), a peruvian yellow chilli, evaporated milk, onion and garlic, I can not have it because I"m lactose intolerant I"m ready to modify thi peruvian dish recipe and use your ingredients, maybe some from this recipe and some from your cream of cheese. I"m thinking to use a bit of nutritional yeast as well. I'm so up to it.
    Thank you for sharing

    I know, Stupid question....are you cups, Tbsp and Tsp different than in the US? Tastes great but not near enough for my big salads.

    • @cookingwithplants
      @cookingwithplants  9 років тому

      +Larry “Dexter Desert” Richelli I use metric measurements. 1 cup = 250ml | 1 tbs = 20ml | 1 tsp = 5ml

    i had a question about sunflower seeds. I made a sauce with it recently and i had so much trouble digesting it... ive tried soaking it and pre-boiling it but either way my gut has a lot of trouble processing it. Have you ever had this problem?

    • @cookingwithplants
      @cookingwithplants  9 років тому

      +SagariCross I don't have issues with it. Have you tried having sunflower seeds just on their own? Maybe it is one of the other ingredients in combination that is causing you upset.

    I just prefer to make some seed butter for a month, and use it for different things. In stews, as spread in my toast, as sauce and dips, in smoothies, etc. It's just simpler and easier to do.

    1/4 cup sunflower seeds > 1/2 cup plant milk > 1 TABLEspoon fresh lemon juice > 2 TABLE spoons sliced scallions > 1 Large garlic clove > 2 TABLEspoons fresh parsley > 1 Tablespoon fresh dill > 1/2 teaspoon paprika > 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper > 1/2 teaspoon coarse Celtic sea salt > 1 teaspoon dijon mustard > Blend. If you want thicker dressing just add more sunflower seeds.
