      It’s the diet, it’s not you. Don’t blame yourself. Dieting is the biggest predictor of future weight gain. If diets worked weight loss companies wouldn’t be thriving.

    Thank you for the inspiration! I started my weight loss journey January 2021. I have lost 36lbs. You are so right, when I compare myself to others I get lost and forget they aren’t me! Thank you for the reminder and the motivation that each journey is different!

    Great tips. Restarted about a month ago. Tracked the good, bad, and the ugly over Christmas week. Regained 1.2, which I have already lost. Transitioned over New Year's weekend and am now fully on track. Exercise is probably the hardest for me. Working on getting my PT therapy exercises in for my knees and back. Just found your channel thru reddit and subscribed.

    Nikki my husband and I joined weight watchers because of you. We are one month in just shy of ten pounds each. We both have approximately 80 pounds to lose.     Can you do a video series on what to order at different types of restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Chinese, etc.)? I never know how to judge point values of places that aren’t in the WW app!

    Just after I started WW, I found your channel. I’m so thankful I did!!! You have helped me so much in motivation, being consistent with the plan, learning substitutes for higher point foods and meals/recipes that are easy to make. You also introduced me to Jen Clayton.     Love the channel. Just started WW a week ago. Tracking everything and getting my workouts in. I feel better already after a week. Will see tomorrow how things go on the scale. I am always afraid to weigh in. Ruins my day sometimes. :(

    Nikki, there is one thing that you didn’t mention that I think is so helpful, is the fact that you and Adam are doing WW together. I initially started WW the first time in the Spring of 2020 & my husband did it too. For me that was a big asset because he wasn’t bringing home foods that were not WW friendly. The weight came off more slowly, as I was in my 60’s. I turn 70 next week & I’m starting again. I have to do this for my health, my esteem & so many other reasons. Back then I lost 30 lbs in about 6 months. But having a partner with a common goal really helped me a lot. What are your thoughts on that? I ended up gaining it all back. Partly due to a lot of stress going on in my life. But I need to stop using that as an excuse. PS I really like the quote you shared about taking care of your body so you wouldn’t end up with health problems. That really resonated with me. This was a great video, thanks for sharing this & putting so many things in perspective.

      Hi Lynn I could have written your response except I'm 72 but I lost it doing keto. I found that keto is not sustainable for me. I'm fortunate that my husband is supportive and fends for himself except when I have a low point meal I cook for both of us so we can eat together. He has never struggled with food so he doesn't need to be on weight watchers. But he enjoys some of the dishes I prepare that are WW friendly so I try to incorporate those as much as possible. I'm at the beginning of my journey again and I've lost 4 pounds. He helps with incentives and doesn't eat things in front of me that he knows I like. Having the app and watching videos like this really helps. Blessings on your journey!

    Thank you for the tips! #25- do what's best for you. Love it! 11yrs ago, I lost weight on WW, hit goal, kept it off until I started working from home, and lost all the additional movement I once had. I never knew how much it made a difference. Now, I'm in perimenopause, 50+ years, and it's SO HARD to lose weight! I started WW again in September 2023, and I think I've just been maintaining my weight. In October, I got a walking pad to use while I work. Of course you can't move at a descent pace while you're typing and writing, but it beats sitting for my 8H schedule. In December, I found an exercise channel here on YT Ave started loosely following, but got more consistent in January, increasing my workouts from approximately 3x per week to 4x per week, abs February abs March to 5x per week. So, I stopped weighing myself b/c it was too discouraging that I was working out, decreased my intake, reduced sugar, reduced snacking, reduced portions, but saw no changes on the scale. I'm still exercising about 5x per week minus the week I had surgery and the week I was sick. I see a slight difference. I've been taking pics and measuring. I still have a ways to go. I also pseudo-IF. Not purposely. It just has to do with starting with at 8am, barely waking in time to "get there (the next room)," and not having time to breathe to eat until about 10:30 -11. I exercise mostly during my lunch break or clean or cook or run errands, abs then have dinner by 5:30, sometimes dessert. However, I think this is part of my problem! I think my body is holding onto fat instead of losing it. Anyway, I will remain consistent with exercising and keeping my calories in check, reduced sugar, etc. This is month 3, so let's see what happens in another 3. Thanks again

    I sooo agree on the not restricting thing and in moderation. My husband and I keep ourselves in check with take out. We love getting Chinese so we'll get one order now instead of two and split it and we'll do this every few months. And buffets are a big NO. We can say Oh we'll get salad, but we know we would get other stuff too along with lots of dressing on the side, haha. I also have a bit of chocolate every night, I prefer dark Hershey's kisses, 2-3 along with 1 cup of plain cheerios. Yummy! This is my snack most nights and no later than 7. Other nights I have air popped popcorn with olive oil spray and popcorn seasoning- lots of flavors to choose from, super delicious and makes a huge bowl. Thank you for this great, helpful video.     Thank you for this, I've been struggling to lose weight and keep it off. I either compare myself to when I was fit then get upset/emotionally eat, or side effects from my psych meds, or I go 0-100 and burn out before even seeing progress. I appreciate knowing that you didn't do anything that seems drastic or unrealistic.
    I'm not sure if you have a video about this or not, but can you make a video of how you pushed through any tough moments? If you had moments of doubt? Thanks

    Loved these tips! I'm starting with a blank slate! Sauces! I hear you! I'm a sauce girl. I will check into those Bolthouse Farms dressings. I'm also a big ketchup fan for steak and burgers. Do you have a sub for that? I know there is a no sugar one. What is your experience with ketchup? I will eat the raw carrots, celery, cucumber, cauliflower, but I have to dip in ranch.

    Hey Nikki! All these tips resonated with me so much, I lost 70 lbs in a year and I’m hoping to have more progress by May before I go on a trip. Question for you in regards to WW- did you find to have your rapid success to use all your weekly points or did you cut those? I find it’s a hit or miss sometimes. Hope to hear back! Thank you ♥️

    Re: sauces -- I find most of them are super thick and I can easily add a tablespoon of water, whisk one serving in a bowl with the water, and it covers the food better when it's more runny. Win-win. I get the sauce I want and it gets distributed over the food better, without going overboard.

    1. Reward yourself for consistency
    2. Swap sauces in salads for low cal options
    3. Get more fibre and protein
    4. Find fun exercises eg. Skating, roller blading
    5. Have dessert every night to minimize binge later
    6. Have a lighter coffee/ minimize drinking too many calories - Add protein or collagen powder to coffee
    7. Get extra steps whenever possible
    8. Drink lots of water - interesting bottles etc
    9. Don’t restrict and be realistic about it
    10. Eat throughout the day - don’t do intermittent fasting
    11. Use food scales to learn portion sizes
    12. Have fruit after a meal if you crave sweet
    13. Watch and learn from grocery haul videos for inspiration
    14. Get off the phone and Sleep
    15. Do what works best for YOU

    I suggest Ben and Jerry vegan/dairy free ice cream. It is less calories, healthier, multiple flavors. I also like Nature's Bakery brownies which are also healthy and low calorie

    I love skating, but unfortunately where i moved the roads, and parking lots are horrible, and sidewalks are non existant. If i had a place to skate, id do it till i drop becaise i love it so much.

    For those who are trying to lose weight, here's a quick personal anecdote: For over 25 years, I didn't eat dairy (no milk, no cheese) and quit drinking sugary drinks (Coke, Gatorade, etc.). I never ate cold cereal and almost never ate dessert. My weight (since college in 1975) has remained steady at about 173-177 lbs. For what's now an inexplicable reason, in the summer of 2023, I just decided to start eating what I thought were healthy cold cereals (with whole milk). In only 6 months, I gained 25 pounds...the most I've ever weighed. It's disgusting. The cereals are Raisin Bran Crunch and Special K. They're loaded with sugar, and it's my fault for not reading the food label. I'm now back to my total avoidance of milk and cold cereal. Don't be fooled by ads that say Special K is some sort of "healthy" meal. It's not. Fat is less of a culprit than sugar. Cut out sugar as much as possible. READ FOOD LABELS.
