Man, the audience sure take their time before they start clapping along with the music. I understand if non-musicians don't know what a back beat is, but they're not even in time with the beat at first.
please. the audience arent there to perform. who cares about the timing of their clapping at least they arent holding up cell phones or standing like zombies
That just shows that Kurt is talented on more than one style and that everything didn't have to be heavy, like his Unplugged performance and his live acoustics.
i always loved very ape it is such a punk rock song, but because it is nirvana it is perceived as something else! in utero was definitely nirvanas best album, i don't think there is any comparison! the only sad thing about in utero is how sad the lyrics really showed kurt to be!
yeah, pat smear was doing all the lead guitar work and kurt was doing the rhythm guitar work. and kurt obviously does great acoustic work as well! kurt is a legend and will never be replicated!
I love how you can hear both guitar parts during Very Ape. In Utero songs sound great with two separate guitar tracks and it is nice to hear both live :)
This is actually really sad to see towards the end Kurt looked like he really wasn't into it and just going throught the motions. Unlike earlier Nirvana shows when they weren't playing in giant stadiums.
Please!! Everyone that admires Nirvana has to check an Argentnian band, that it is said that Nirvana were inspired by them in this song. These band is "Los Brujos". Check them out, you won't regret. Some great songs: "Kanishka" , "La bomba", "Aguaviva".
NIXON NOW! He should have played it a bit on unplugged! He maybe forgot, because it painfully sits there behind him the whole show! I heard it was his favourite too? The Jagstang is GREAT too see! Sounds different than his usual In Utero show Mustang too. Kurt played pretty well that night, a good show for it.
The double clapping might have worked, if only it had been in time. Krist tried, man, but their cultural sense of rythm is different from our American 4/4 rock time.
Yea, especially with this song. It just shows that big part of his audience had no fucking clue what was the song about, and so many others as well. Like the commercial mind even care, as long as it is catchy & listenable.. In bloom.
NIRVAVA KUrt Fradenburg Cobain! HIs bLood is German, half French and Scottish A real warrior project! A realm in life With that kind of blood this is normal to be raised at the top by his own force! His ardour of blood and fun are proof
The Man was actually Lonn Friend, and he kidnapped her outside a Punk Rock show actually, and he did not have a van it was a car. Look it up before you get all high and mighty on other people.
Customer service : " if you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first, I'm so busy acting like I'm not naive, I've seen it all, I was here first." Can we please all come to the understanding that this is the credos of all large companies?
IMO, melora creager really brought something to those final 94 shows with her cello that lori goldston never could do, even on unplugged. just listen to that cello and how it holds it own.
"My favourite inside source I´ll kiss your open sores Appreciate your concern You´ll always stink and burn" That's about the article which contained that his wife took heroin during her pregnancy but that wasn't true. After that they had trouble with the youth welfare office.
He said he admired how Freddie Mercury loved the 'awe' of the crowd, and wished he could be the same way, but it just didn't affect him in the same way
well a few of the songs were about tragedies, like Frances Farmer and Scentless Apprentice. Frances Farmer was an actress whose mother kept trying to put her in a mental home and scentless apprentice is about a guy who killed women to try and make the ultimate perfume, but i totally get what you're saying
Look at Krist at 0:24 til 0:28, trying to make the audience clap the right way, but nobody listens to him cause, well, he's just Krist and nobody cares about him. But he's just such a cool person, and he gives the final touch to all the music they made. He's not well-appriciated.
Ryan, I have to say and we will end it on this. Your wrong about the unplugged guitar cause when we went tok the panel discussion with earnie baileykurts (guitar tech) and Barrett jones Dave growls (drum tech) Bailey said unplugged was disaster of an acoustic
The acoustic in the video isn't a martin, it's a vintage Epiphone Texan with a "NIXON NOW" sticker on it. the unplugged guitar is a martin D-18E. they didn't add ruin the guitar, they were built like that as martins attempt to break into the electric market but only made a few because they weren't very popular.
WRONG. "Rape Me" was written way before the Vanity Fair thing even happened. "Polly" was written about an article Kurt read that was about 1 man who kidnapped a woman and tortured her in his basement. Then, the guy went out to get some gas and brought the girl with him, who was tied up and duct-taped in the back of his van. That's what really happened. Had nothing to do with a punk show. I hate when people exagerrate.
Yeah no problem there. I've been asked quite a few times, so the comment is misleading. Neither do I believe Kurt was always depressed, maybe in the end, but a big part was made up by media
Kurt never used his fuzz on this song like on the record. I wish he did.. If it was a problem to get the extra boost on the chorus, a boost pedal... With all due respect. I fucking love Nirvana.
I love how Krist is trying to get the audience to clap in time and he just shakes his head in disappointment
😭😭😭
One of the few shows he used his Jag-stang.
Okay, stop following me

That cello...so beautiful and haunting.
it sad to see that such great talent love like Kurt cobain pass away rip kurt
I love this version just as much as the original! The cello makes it so beautiful.
Lol omg krist trying to get them to clap in time properly hahhah
This is one of my favorite representations of Kurt's voice.
Man, the audience sure take their time before they start clapping along with the music.
I understand if non-musicians don't know what a back beat is, but they're not even in time with the beat at first.
Thanks this made my night
please. the audience arent there to perform. who cares about the timing of their clapping at least they arent holding up cell phones or standing like zombies

the cello was a great touch.. I wish they would release some more DVDs or live albums with versions of polly and other songs like this.
I love and respect him so much
They sound amazing.
One of the last shows of Kurt.. I really miss you Kurt.. You are alive in the heart's of all people fan's..
the cello in this version is beautifull
if kurt was still alive now nirvana would be the biggest band
I didn't know they played acoustic live after the unplugged. But I think it's pretty cool
This version of Polly is beautiful and haunting.
yeah, pat smear was doing all the lead guitar work and kurt was doing the rhythm guitar work. and kurt obviously does great acoustic work as well! kurt is a legend and will never be replicated!
I love how you can hear both guitar parts during Very Ape. In Utero songs sound great with two separate guitar tracks and it is nice to hear both live :)
Aww, this is Kurt's B-Day, right.
RIP.
This is actually really sad to see towards the end Kurt looked like he really wasn't into it and just going throught the motions.
Unlike earlier Nirvana shows when they weren't playing in giant stadiums.
***** did u not see what the guy was saying
Dan Ham Thats why he had different plans for the future
TALKINGtac0 like killing himself?
I love this version of Polly.
Happy birthday Kurt
i love that high pitched lead that pat does through the song, it sounds so cool going along with the riff
Please!! Everyone that admires Nirvana has to check an Argentnian band, that it is said that Nirvana were inspired by them in this song. These band is "Los Brujos". Check them out, you won't regret. Some great songs: "Kanishka" , "La bomba", "Aguaviva".
I never got a chance to see them live so it's pretty cool to see footage like this. Thank you for sharing this!
its funny when krist tries to get them to clap on time, then he shakes his head like "jesus christ!".
Love Kurt 💔Forever Nirvana. Miss you✌
NIXON NOW! He should have played it a bit on unplugged! He maybe forgot, because it painfully sits there behind him the whole show! I heard it was his favourite too?
The Jagstang is GREAT too see! Sounds different than his usual In Utero show Mustang too. Kurt played pretty well that night, a good show for it.
amazing performance of polly
Fender JAG-STANG
lol
haha, look at Krist trying to orchestrate the clapping, and then shaking his head.
this is so cool, its like they took unplugged on the road.
polly is my fav acoustic song from all of my fav acoustic songs!! :)
uno degli ultimi concerti dei nirvana...avrei ucciso per vederlo dal vivo...
Oh my god yes! I've just been through a Foo faze... But JESUS. There's nothing like Nirvana...
Just the simplicity and awesomeness of it
STINKYPETE500X Ew foo fighters , go away
This is probably my favorite Nirvana song - fucking brilliant! R.I.P. Cobain
adoro a este hombre
es el hombre de mis sueños y
tien una voz espectacular a love kurt 4ever
is it just me or was the audience's rhythm fucking up the band?
It is, you can see krist trying to get them to clap on time, and then shaking his head
like Cobain said, Music first Lyrics second. and the music is brilliant and deserves applause
Nirvana live in Palatrussardi, Milan Italy 24-02-94
La descripción lo dice..
His JAGUAR is sunburst. It's his jagstang because his mustang has a tortoise (redish brown) pickguard and his jagstang has a white one.
So glad I found this !
have you ever noticed that kurts strumming hand is always bent downward?
Holy Shit!!! That fuck'in tripped me out. Almost like a music video. Very ape is amazing!!!!
the cello really adds a lot. I like it.
I really like the cello in Polly..
The double clapping might have worked, if only it had been in time. Krist tried, man, but their cultural sense of rythm is different from our American 4/4 rock time.

two of my favorite songs :)

amazing version

very ape rockssss. i love that shittt.

awesome
Polly - what a beatiful song!

i love the cello
wow.. celo... it's so sad voice.. very good!
uhmmm sweet sweet cello sounds so amazing
that cello sounds beautifull
that cello kicks ass
I love Krist's face at 0:28 xD
I think he lot faith in that clapping thing they got going xD
actually they are essentially playing the same thing. kurt's part is just in a lower key and pat had some type of wah effect (not sure what exactly)
"Italians only know to clap at a concert to a rythm" - an italian
He said he admired how Freddie Mercury loved the 'awe' of the crowd, and wished he could be the same way, but it just didn't affect him in the same way
its fab!
was this filmed by michael j fox?
xD
lmao
Dark humour at it's best
Have you even been to a live show? People don't stand still...
the fans dont know how to fucking keep time with the song, you can see Krist trying to help them and then he is just like, "fuck them" lol
well a few of the songs were about tragedies, like Frances Farmer and Scentless Apprentice. Frances Farmer was an actress whose mother kept trying to put her in a mental home and scentless apprentice is about a guy who killed women to try and make the ultimate perfume, but i totally get what you're saying
It doesn't matter if the argument makes no sense, most arguments do.
I'm very keen
clapping does suck...especially when its out of time with the music like this one
Melora Creager played cello on the European tour.
Is it me or is Kurt wearing the same shirt he wore in the 1993 MTV unplugged?
@bobdylan4evr Thanks!
Look at Krist at 0:24 til 0:28, trying to make the audience clap the right way, but nobody listens to him cause, well, he's just Krist and nobody cares about him. But he's just such a cool person, and he gives the final touch to all the music they made. He's not well-appriciated.
Sweet dude. Do you mind putting the whole disk on youtube?!
Perty Perty Please!
indeed, more than likely.
KURDT....SOULJAH ROCKER....LiviTY
1. Incesticide
2. In Utero
3. Bleach
4. Nevermind
5. Unplugged
that jastang sounds AMAZING

yes
Its a Sticker that says NIXON NOW
those 94' shows of nirvana seem soooo different than the earlier years, which is ofc obvious, a band cant stay exactly the same
@robogizmoe i think its polly by nirvana, not entirely sure but sounds pretty close
People did this a lot, and he would sometimes get pissed because the clapping would mess up his rhythm.
I thinks that's a Mustang, not his Jagstang
His Jagstang is Sunburst, his guitar here is light blue or white
Yeah no problem there. I've been asked quite a few times, so the comment is misleading. Neither do I believe Kurt was always depressed, maybe in the end, but a big part was made up by media
Yeah I think he's trying to get the crowd to slow down the tempo. I don't know why they're doing that.
Keep on rockin in the dead world, kyrdt "L33÷&peek" cobain.
Edit ted
zomg, this was on the day i was born :D win for me
Kurt never used his fuzz on this song like on the record. I wish he did.. If it was a problem to get the extra boost on the chorus, a boost pedal...
With all due respect.
I fucking love Nirvana.
Is that a Jagstang or just a mustang?
agree
this is cool
