@@FervorGaming ah gotcha. I didn't mean for that to sound as accusatory as it does on re-reading. I am sure other classes might be objectively "better" in terms of whatever metric, but I also feel the best class is the one you play best -- so far for me that is this one, even if I can see the pros of other classes
Ive actually max leveled Tactical and Assault but found Vanguard the most fun to play. It doesnt require that you are safe to shoot a grenade launcher like tactical. Assault is amazing inside a mob with shield regen and ground pound spam but doesnt delete the backline like vanguard. Vanguard has a specific purpose, and it is to hook onto ranged majoris and assassinate them with its powerful melee modifiers. Then mop up with the melta for any minoris that stands between you and the ranged majoris. Vanguard does what a sniper does but it does not require having a safe window to do so. It gets down and dirty in the enemy backline
@@joenapalm4841 it's all good and i actually did find it fun. The mobilty and setup is super nice. It's just after playing everythin else it feels a bit weaker is all XD
I have found a beneficial bug with vanguard my brothers. The class perk that says it regens 1% health actually regens about 10% for each finisher. Adrenaline Rush. Get this and dominate my brothers
Also found something that was OP with Vanguard. It starts with +50% contested health gain. Use a chainsword, get weapon perk for +100 contested health and AOE stomp range increase. Do the melee light 3x, then hold melee heavy for the stomp inside a Minoris horde. You will recover MASSIVE amounts of contested health and will not need any shields to stay alive. You will NOT need a Melta Rifle to wipe minoris hordes out
I found an interesting strategy. If you use the 50% perfect parry perk, you can equip the Balanced version of the combat knife. It feels like a fencing weapon in terms of parry window but the speed goes from 4 to 7. I consider this strategy as an increase to dps because you get more strikes in because of the increased speed
If you run melta, you can also use block and focus on dodging rather than parrying. You will still be able to gun strike, generally in situation that are inherently safer because you moved away from the enemy. The block knife is even better. than both the balance knife, and the fencing knife, so if you develop the muslce memory of just dodging, you can get huge melee DPS buff.
Vanguard is literally the only class in the game that can put up respectable single target melee dps. Get the relic balanced knife with +melee damage perks. Dive kick, 1 melta, a couple light attacks and majoris dead. TTK is faster than melta spam.
Totally agree I love the game and started maining a vanguard got to level 12 and even leveled up almost all my guns and it was not fun. I felt like I was being carried through operations. The bolt weapons simply don't feel good to use expect the minigun the heavy has. I switched my main to a heavy and I don't think I'll focus on vanguard anymore they really need to buff the bolt weapons or fix the perks in the vanguard tree to make it not suck.
There's a perk in chainsword that gives heavy attacks the bossibility to replenish the 100% of contested health. Anyway one thing that i can't seriously understand is why noone focus of the importance of nuking asap ranged targets that are hard to reach but that become easy to kill with a vanguard jumping on them and distrupting their freeshots.
Taking more range damage is a mistake. Go with the better parry window and not get senselessly killed by some $@&! face on the other side of the battle field shooting at you when you are trying to do damage. Good parry means no melee damage taken.
Me and my buddies run a triple Melta combo. Heavy, Tactical and Vanguard. Works pretty well but the Vanguard is a bit of a wannabe Tactical. The latter is just better. But one thing makes my Vanguard really important in this group. Since we all lack the range the Grapnel is clutch for interrupting enemies who re calling for support.
When I was playing the campaign mode I fell in love with the melta. When I figured out the Vanguard class could use that I lost my mind. Consider me a vanguard main from now on.
I can’t wait to see all the melta players absolutely lose their shit when the overheal gets fixed, cause all they know how to do is “durrhurrhurrrr melta go brrrr”
While I agree that the over heal will affect the melta ultimately is still a better weapon than the bolt weapon so I don't really see anyone not using them I would never change to a boat weapon over the melta the heal was actually just a bonus to a very overly dominant weapon
@@FervorGaming oh I know it’s still better and will still get used way more, but there’s still gunna be hundreds of people who’ll end up crying about it, and it’s gunna be very amusing. “ITS HELLDIVERS ALL OVER AGAIN” dorks😂
@@Just_Some_Clown I just really want to see the Bolt rifles get some benefit. I think they're just too underpowered and if they got a little bit of love a lot more players to be willing to play them including me
You do realize that meta chasers can be good gamers and it will make very little difference to a majority of players who are using it. Think of the % of players who play vs those who whine and bitch on forums or reddit. You're literally waiting to laugh at a minority of people who are playing. Such a weird take. A lot of people also prefer shotgun type guns when the ability puts you point blank with the enemy. You're equally as dumb as those who bitch about "nerfs"
I think a good improvement to the game would be giving a health segment (25%) if you have full armor already and do a finisher on a major or above enemy. It would reward skilled play and balance the go to meta weapons and characters. Would make the weaker classes and guns more viable and add a variety of new playstyles.
Yes I'm aware I saw the post recently after I made this video. Now that the devs have come out to confirm it then yes I can say without a doubt it's a bug but beforehand I couldn't
LOL - Vanguard Melee support - when he is acutally the second most survivable melee character in the game only bulwark can survive better... - and has a very good weapon for picking off pesky long range and floating brains in the instigator bolt rifle. People just think he sucks cuase they don't know how to play him without the op Melta.... stop using it as a crutch and find out what the class can really do.
The melta rifle healing is a bug the devs confirmed that recently. Hopefully they fix that issue soon because most builds for vanguard revolve around that weapon.
This is awful advice. Vanguard melee is insane. I wouldn't like you on my team just spamming melta. If you play like a noob then this is good advice. If you know mechanics well then don't follow this
You actually think this game is that complicated? Why you even in my channel if you don't care people like you feel like you're too important when you're actually just not you are not important dude You act like I would Grace you with my presence get the hell out of here
Agreed that the advice is pretty bad. I'm playing vanguard with 3 burst primary and combat knife balanced. I can reliably kill any boss and never need stims. Just killed hive tyrant no stims no downs on ruthless. Vanguard has high DPS and high survivability. His role is to kill threats quick not provide debuffs and spam melta 😂
Oh and you're going to show me how to do it. I know people like you like talking let's jump into a game today and show me just how good you play the class because I guarantee you you will not compare to me in the match not even close you'll be lucky to even survive it
Unpopular opinion I love going straight melee w vanguard, it’s fun as hell and challenging
I recently started vanguard, but I totally agree.
How to play: Jump kick, melta, melta, exeution. Repeat. Oh no no jump kick, then melta, melta everything until jump kick comes off cooldown.
MELTA FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
I wish I learned the melta was better before I fully maxed out my burst gun ( I forgot the name)
I did the same mistake, but now I only use Melta @@sethphillips7953

I thought it’s a perk on the melta and multimeta where you heal extra contested health
that's jsut how aoe weapons work. there's no perks when you get contested health shoot into crowds and you're good to go
