Review Rating: Excellent knowledge of Bulwark: +4 Great demonstration Gameplay: +4 Concise and not meandering: +2 Calling a Power Sword and an Energy Sword: -10 Final score: 0/10
A few mistakes in the video though, not that its all bad but: Energy sword: ..... Fencing sword relic sword doesn't hit as many enemies: Wrong. The swings are just as wide and hit just as many enemies, the thing the low cleave does is that your DMG is scaled down in power mode, not that you hit less enemies. The bug that makes you repeat the first attack of your combo: ONLY happens on swords with very low speed, this is because you swing so slow that your character starts to take a step in the direction you are pressing, thus resetting the combo. This is NOT a problem with most of the weapons in the tree, i just had to point that out so that people aren't turned off by the weapon thinking this is a common thing. Lastly: The shield DOES block melee damage, i believe all but blue attacks (which ARE heavy attacks so it makes sense) You can kite around a group of gaunts slowly circling them to keep them in front of you and they will keep hitting your shield and you do not take damage. (i posted this several times actually so the uploader sees and might make a correction. Cause this is quite a bit of misinformation. I do not mean him harm though!)
Just a quick point that the power whirl stance is NOT the power mode on the sword, it’s when you attack and don’t press anything for a second to go into the big power whirl attack.
Not a nitpick id say. While it’s not a huge deal, i think its reasonable to expect someone with that much time on the class and such to have read and used the correct name for the weapon.
You got it wrong on Power sword and cleave stat. Fencing is just straight up better version as cleaving stat doesn't matter much when you go into power stance. You still hit everything and you swing faster with fencing variant.
I completely agree. Bulwark is utterly braindead easy once you get a fencing power sword, going into the aoe shock drop makes power stance almost irrelevant. I just go where the mobs are, drop a shock zone and with the +25% damage taken minoris just fall over. Ignore minoris, spam parry, gun strike majors, use the banner to heal allies. TV is overthinking bulwark, unless it gets significant changes using anything other than a fencing sword is deliberately handicapping yourself. That said, looks like he's enjoying himself, and in a game like SM2, that's all that matters.
I like his take. I imagine most people play 90% the same way after spending time with the class, with a few differences here and there. If you can clear Ruthless then you're doing something right. Although, i've seen so many bulwarks play like assault and just die.
I prefer the speed too the fencing was a perk as well . I’ve already got the timing down but that speed helps for power or quick stance which i use on chaos warriors.
Made several more mistakes than that... I wrote a big comment, and I'll copy it here so he can see what went wrong and hopefully issue a correction! i dont want to be rude or have him stop making videos or something, he just didn't really research this one at all or play the class that much and its full of misinformation thats going to confuse/make new players play worse... Heres the whole thing: Some mistakes here im going to want to correct, for your sake, not mine. Video saying the fencing sword relic sword doesn't hit as many enemies. Wrong. The swings are just as wide and hit just as many enemies, the thing the low cleave does is that your DMG is scaled down in power mode, not that you hit less enemies. And are you trolling? YOu are literally not running the single best perk in game that buffs your banner into something that is actually amazing: (the one that gives everyone full contested healthj Not running it is an immediate sign of either you are Trolling/griefing or clueless. There is no single perk in that column that comes close to being iuseful or let alone compete for the spot But to each to their own, if you do want more aoe damage like he says he does then yea the imperator blade is better for that. My choice will always be the Gathalamor Crusade though especially since he huge speed damage and being fencing. And with the speed your making more swings anyway so even with less cleave power mode is far from useless... Each has their own taste though... Its (relic fencing one) also good against chaos because you ideally need to burst down the flamer rubic marines as fast as possible, lest they do big damage with their flamers the longer they're up, and you usually have a lot of singular tough targets, Another couple things: The bug that makes you repeat the first attack of your combo ONLY happens on swords with very low speed, this is because you swing so slow that your character starts to take a step in the direction you are pressing, thus resetting the combo. This is NOT a problem with most of the weapons in the tree, i just had to point that out so that people aren't turned off by the weapon thinking this is a common thing... And one more: The shield DOES block melee damage, All but blue attacks (which ARE heavy attacks so it makes sense) You can kite around a group of gaunts slowly circling them to keep them in front of you and they will keep hitting your shield and do not do damage to you. This comes up to quite a bit of misinformation, so it doesn't seem like a video made by someone who actually knows anything but the very basics of the class... hope Vanguard notices and issues a correction! I mean you no harm, I merely want to help, because if you're making a video like this you really need to get it right. And you got it really wrong here...I mean this in the best way possible!
PSA if you’re having trouble parrying with the bulwark, you have to press and let go of the parry button. It’s different than classes without the shield. I came from assault and couldn’t parry with the fencing sword until I found this out!
nonononooono bad bad bad advice! though you might not have meant it like that , people will misunderstand, You parry EXACTLY the same as other classes! DO. NOT. HOLD. DOWN. the parry button, that makes you put up your shield, which does not parry. You simply click/press the parry/block button very fast. so that you dont end up raising your shield and blocking, a normal click like you click anything on the mouse is a perfect example. You will do the full parry animation even if you dont hold down the button. Actually holding it down is a bad habit for any class. You click it and release, NEVER hold. voila, parrying is the same as any other class.
Some mistakes here im going to want to correct as a long time bulwark main (well game is new but it is my main, even though i have everything maxed out, i still play Bully wark a lot) Video saying the fencing sword relic sword doesn't hit as many enemies. Wrong. The swings are just as wide and hit just as many enemies, the thing the low cleave does is that your DMG is scaled down in power mode, not that you hit less enemies. But to each to their own, if you do want more aoe damage like he says he does then yea the imperator blade is better for that. My choice will always be the Gathalamor Crusade though especially since he huge speed damage and being fencing. Especially since my perk build got me up to the 10% damage to majoris enemies I'm now a deadly weapon killing the majoris VERY fast, which in turn drops the gaunts around due to synaptic shock... But yea each has their own taste... Its also good against chaos because you ideally need to burst down the flamer rubic marines as fast as possible, lest they do big damage with their flamers the longer they're up Edit another couple things: the bug that makes you repeat the first attack of your combo ONLY happens on swords with very low speed, this is because you swing so slow that your character starts to take a step in the direction you are pressing, thus resetting the combo. Second: the shield DOES block melee damage, i believe all but blue attacks (which ARE heavy attacks so it makes sense) You can kite around a group of gaunts slowly circling them to keep them in front of you and they will keep hitting your shield and do not do damage to you. The most EGREGIOUS thing in the video, is not running the team heal perk (gives everyone FULL contested health, which saves runs on ruthless) It is literally the strongest perk and is what makes the chapter banner a good ability, sure some armor in combat is cool and all, but compared to both that armor AND a full heal for your whole team... you're either soloing or just memeing if you dont run that perk! This comes up to quite a bit of misinformation, so i hope Vanguard notices and issues a correction! I mean you no harm, I merely want to help, because if you're making a video like this you really need to get it right. I mean this in the best way possible!
Watching you square off against that tyranid warrior at 8:35 was hilarious, especially when I realized it was only acting that way because it had its foot in the shock zone and was having its decisions interrupted!
Also don’t forget the power rake (hold the melee button mid combo) - with the right perk on the sword, this does 50% more damage. If you stack the damage buffs instead of going for the contested health regen, your sword does serious damage.
n Hm imo regaining contested health is key on ruthless, dealing dmg is not the big problem, its surviving the constant range attacks that deal so much dmg, no matter the source as even the smallest range enemy deals so much dmg
@@mcmarkmarkson7115 I agree, however there comes a point when you become so proficient at negating damage that building for damage is the only logical decision moving forward. Avoiding damage in the first place is better than building to survive more of it imo.
@@Slanderbot well of course you still get some dmg buff, but prio is on dmg negation for sure. You simply can't be proficient enough to avoid all dmg sources. Especially if the map spawns a gazillion enemies from all sides especially now with the contested health nerf Normal fights aren't the problem anyway, you should get through those with 100% hp. Its when shit hits the fan and suddenly an extremis enemy pops out
fun fact if you have an issue trying to parry normally with bulwark double click it and it works like normal, I haven't had an issue with any parries since I did double taps
I finally finished the campaign last night and got into operations and went Bulwark and love it. My favorite thing being rushing down ranged combatants, shield up and taking them down.
So happy someone finally mentioned this! Been telling people on discord and in game and half of the time people don’t understand. If you press or hold down move button you break the combo chain and only do the basic attack over and over. And in the end of the mission you wonder why your damage is abysmal 😂 Out side heavy- Bulwark is my highest average damage class for tyrandid missions ( I got all classes at 25 with max relic upgrades ) Tough I use the fencing version of the sword for the faster attacks as mentioned in the video. I don’t mind giving up the cleave- as I use gun strikes for wave clear. Plasma pistole with damage and aoe upgrades. Ammo is never needed- as I only ever use its ammo count to deny call inn. And I use the sword- speed stance to deal with big enemies.
@@mcmarkmarkson7115I got a lvl 25 tac, melta fully relic and the bolt- with grande launcher And I got a 25 vanguard same deal there. I got every class at 25, I got most weapon fully relic upgraded. The once I don’t have, are the once that are arguably just worse options then other existing once. I have solo’ed every ruthless mission on most classes And I got no more paints or cosmetics left to grind- I have spent and unhealthy amount of game time. And I’m telling you, bulwark is one of the highest damage dealers- and is incredibly self sufficient.
@@viktorhr6360 if you play solo? Then sure, since you have no dmg to split between team mates, then whatever class I play deals the most dmg But explain to me how you deal more dmg than a melta tac with aupex buff?
@@mcmarkmarkson7115not to be toxic but you need to read my comments out. And understand the difference of context. But to clearly the fact that I solo was context. The fact that bulwark out dps most classes, is a general fact from team played mission. Also by the way you state your comment… you do realise that if tac use scan. Everyone deals more damage to said target? Tbh the way you frame it seems team play is what’s lacking for you
@@viktorhr6360 I don't want to insult you, but let me get ahead and insult you. That' what you sound like. I want you to describe how you outdps a heavy spamming Heavy melta shots while also dealing extra dmg when he pops his iron halo with extra aoe dmg on top, you will not even out dps the heavy bolter And the tac aupex scan boost dps of everyone yes, but since ranged classes deal the most dps, they gonna out dps your bulwark every single time because everything will be dead before you get to melee range lmao You clearly are full of shit if you think your bulwark out dps a melta when your main source of dmg has a 30 sec cooldown
Contested health doesn’t “fade in half the time”, it fades half as fast, effectively it fades in twice the time it normally would, giving you twice as long to achieve more damage for health, or acquire an execution 👍 Great video yet again brother!
I just did the damage build on the sword, using the 3 5% bonuses plus the 10% bonus against tyanid and chaos, then the final perk for another 15% against majoris enemies, giving you a 25% bonus against everything, and a 40% bonus against majoris.
@@Orivv123 crowd control is easy enough with parrys for your shock grenades, the only real threat is getting ass kicked by three majors, this makes you big weakness more manageable.
FYI Inspiration and Invigorating Icon effects are swapped. You’re getting infinite contested health off the Inspiration and not getting the damage buff.
It’s interesting watching your gameplay, imo the fencing weapon is way better - the sword should be used to focus majoris enemies down for executions, while you use the parries to nuke the minoris. You said about being comfortable with the parry timing but with the fencing sword it is actually a DPS loss to even swing the sword, and keep knocking enemies away from your parry aoe. Just mash the parry button and everything around you dies, then you can focus on nuking the majoris The perk that does aoe on a perfect parry is your highest damage output, you want all of the enemies right next to you to hit them all.
Cleaving potential only matters on the speed mode, while on the power mode the wave goes trough damaging the enemies regardless of the cleaving potential. So as I keep my power sword on power mode 90% of the time the speed stat is way more important to me
TV, love the guide, Bulwark was the first class I maxed and my favorite class. One thing you missed about the plasma pistol: it is AMAZING at getting back contested health. Fully charged shots at majoris or packs of minoris will fill your contested health up and even sometimes overheal you.

TV ur a life saver, it seems every class gets easier to play after you make a video about them Parrying and dodging is important, but i think the main problem, at least for me is not understanding what a class' role actually is
They buffed the power fists recently and I'm having fun zipping around with them and shield bashes. A well timed charged attack is basically a melta rifle as well.
Love the content, I think your build is the benchmark build of how to bulwark. I play with my two friends and they both rock meltas and I find the shock zone procs and area denial focus redundant/I go the top tree for the sword or I go power fist and focus on distrupting/killing majoris and higher. I take the Parry execute sig perk, and yeah I focus on shield bashing to get my damage up then us the speed on the fencing sword to get my the autos to burn through a majoris. The 2nd perk that increases shock dmg taken and the 3rd that procks it on a parry is the tits and I still take those. Great class, he's the healer and is as important to a run as a heavy imo.
GOD DAMNIT I TRIED TO GET AWAY..... NO NOW ITS NOT JUST DESTINY ITS SPACEMARINES 2 .... TOOOO .... be around since d1 never commented but love that I'm still watching your videos.
Just a note on the banner healing teammates. If you put it down early enough when a teammate has already started an execution, they will get all the contested health back when it finishes. This makes it easier to do, since you don't have to coordinate with your teammate as much.
Small correction: the shield does in fact block all melee damage as well, as long as it comes from the front. It is very possible to "turtle up" if all enemies are in front of you.
Its funny cause all my friends get so shook when they say me literally walking thru a ruthless run backhanding shit out of the way until I give them the rundown and they actually try it for themselves
QoL improvement ---- split block and parry into 2 separate keybind!!! Damn i hate it that i get to block while i want to parry!!! No problem parrying on my Tactical, but heck that shield gets in the way way too often!!!
when it comes to perks i agree except for the purity of purpose chpoice. The fact that i can go from being one hit away from death to full health with invigorating icon is op imo. all you have to do is set up a majoris enemy (or even manoris) up for executione activate the banner and boom full health
Let me say as someone with many hours on bulwark now, if you’re ever dying or going down frequently you’re playing very wrong. Use power sword, spam gun strikes, play defensively. I’ve clutched up many times against the hive tyrant when my mates died. Use the perk that allows banner to revive teammates as well.
Yeah dont waste a perk on something that is useless 99% of a map. Thats a terrible idea. Is it a cool perk to use when someone go down? Yes but hugely useless the rest of the time. Not to mention u then cant use it whenever u need it for something important since now its on cd
I tried shield bashing with the perk you recommended, but it didn't seem to affect the Thousand Suns Marines. If anything, they'd just teleport away immediately after the hit. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I do believe that Intimidating Aura will rob you of gun strike opportunities very frequently when you perfect parry. I hate it because of that cause I love the burst damage and armor regen those give
I think Bulwarks best weapon is the Relic fencing Fist, when swarmed by minoris enemies you can just spam parry and the marine will obliterate anything that tries to hit/jump you. I also appreciate the Fists ability to stun lock majoris and extremis enemies, forcing them to duel you and not your teammates. Not to mention the cannon punch (sprint+light) will always open gun strikes and guard break/stagger. The sword has VERY good damage, I just hate how enemies are still at freedom to melee chip away at you while you're swinging.
@@Febreeze419 Ive had too many situations where Ive needed a clutch gun strike, but the wide sweep of the sword made the gun strike occur on an enemy off screen, so I then have to turn the camera to get it.
Yeah, fist is very single target focused, I didn't use it much at relic since I started leveling chainsword. With some of the weapon perks they really buff the charged attacks, something I've been curious about. Shock AoE can mob clear quite well but would a shield bash + charged fist or something do more single target dmg i've yet to test.
@@PerfectDeath4 The best perk in the tree imo is the shock wave increase (from 4 to 8 meters), a lot of times the fist will stagger a majoris so hard that the follow up heavy attack will miss because hes too far away. That perk just lets you WAIL on majoris and extremis until they get incapacitated. Also helps with minoris because any AoE is good AoE. I do however think the chainsword is the most well rounded melee, just remember the relic fencing chainsword is bugged and isn’t actually fencing.
Stacking the survivability skills made a big difference for me. The aoe abilities look good on paper but didn’t feel like it made a huge difference in practice.
EXACTLY, i cringed a lot watching this video.... he made so many mistakes and told misinformation, and when i noticed he wasn't running the team heal perk it was over... I started typing out corrections all over the comment section because this is DEFINITELY not "how to become GOD TIER Bulwark" .... I dont want to disrespect the creator, but research your subject better and play it more before making such a video...
@@nihilnovum5034 I mean this isn't what I meant, true vanguard has done some very solid guides on the game, and I didn't verify myself if the perk was bugged (bull is the last class i'm gonna 25) anyhow this ability is strong af
Fencing weapons are objectively better in all situations. Parry is the most powerful mechanic in the game by far. Also cleave stat is for DAMAGE cleave, not targets hit. You always hit the same amount of targets.
Great video, deserved like, just a couple of points, the shield does block melee attacks from the front (11:45 for reference) so if you have enemies to your side or rear you can reposition a little to block that to except orange attacks as you pointed out, i also believe it wont block blue parry attack (not all anyway) like gaunts flying at you for example but i will have to go back and test that, I'm running the contested health perk and it's been working fine for me however if the bug is truly the case (will have to test this) i will have to test the other perks until its fixed, Question- Shock and awe perk - does that apply to the shock grenades as well? also looking forward to the sword video.
This is a good video and youre a good player. Dont let all the neckbeards gatekeepnyou out of the hobby man. Theyre sad little goblin men stuck playing 3rd edition and reminiscing about the good ol days of cardboard dreads. Stay strong brother
I really didn't like the perk that makes your banner deal area damage, I found that it sometimes just straight up kills targets that I was gonna execute to regen the 100% contested health that the banner gives you.
I think the plasma pistol has higher highs and lower lows. It kinda feels to me like the plasma weapons don't have as strong of a headshot multiplier compared to the kinetic energy weapons. The bolt pistol feels a lot better for cleaning up little guys more quickly and efficiently. So the charged shots are really nice, powerful and versatile, but the common shots leave a little to be desired, not totally useless though. The way I like to play bulwark that seems pretty effective is to use the plasma pistol for some extra damage bursts on my targets in-between my melee combos or to pepper enemies up and stun them for my team while they are going for some melee. I really like it as a support and utility weapon.
I feel like armour of contempt is getting MASSIVELY overlooked. Blocking sniper shots kills nearby minoris enemies. I walked down a terminator with a minigun and he literally shot himself to death.
Been running that since day 1, and it's so good. Easily one of his best perks. Especially against chaos enemies as that just shoot you even when your infront of there face.
@BasSine_Studio I not sure on this, but you actually see an aura now when you are blocking ranged attacks. But against the flamethrower I don't think I see the aura, so I think no. But you can block there attacks, and it is kinda ranged so maybe I'm wrong.
Didn't see it mentioned, but right now, if you swap your kit at a drop pod as a heavy or bulwark, you get fully healed. This is obviously a bug but worth mentioning for the time being.
Me clicking video: "oh maybe this video will help out with power fist not feeling great, I've gotta be doing something wrong. the video: "So only use the power sword" cool... cool cool cool.
Your power fist feels underwhelming because it is sadly Best luck I’ve had w it is all bottom row perks for +50% running attack and faster charge attacks It’s usable on bulwark but still feels terrible on assault
I havn't done much for the power fist on relic since I went to level chain sword and now power sword (yeah I'm doing sword last) Fist is definitely specialized for single targets, some of the weapon perks are about doing those charged heavy attacks so stun resistance and dmg reduction while preparing the charged fist looks like a potential build. Very different from the whirly sword build and the stomping chainsword. Most people run Bulwark for the crowd control and tanking, classes like the sniper end up being real strong at taking out specific enemies so, the fist feels like it is competing against that. xD
Used Powersword first but switched to Chainsword because it´s mit combo heavies seemed to perform better against those pesky shield Tzangors than the powersword
Once you get the fencing power fist, it becomes a whole new game. I went from feeling underwhelmed to being able to tank and kill 4-5 majoris and a hoard of minoris without any help.
The max out contested health on banner thing doesn't work 100% of the time for me without the perk, and using the perk makes it work 100%. So we have differing experience there. Another note: You can heal at range, anyone can. Just plant the banner and overcharge your plasma pistol, it'll max out the contested health - it's the same for your team, one las fusil shot will heal a sniper, bolter spam into a horde will heal a tactical etc etc. I always plasma pistol when a boss chunks me for example, just overcharge, bam, health back.
Lore of the Long Watch - The Thief of Secrets is a Deathwatch relic Power Sword that is inhabited by a Machine Spirit with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. It has tasted the vitae of countless Xenos races, which has been filtered through the blade's auto-sanctified sanguinator-channels and then codified within an array of logicum cells. This has caused the Thief of Secrets to lay bare the biological secrets of many Xenos races and now allows the blade's wielder to modulate its power field in order to easily kill the Deathwatch's foes. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
I'm so sick of people playing on ruthless that have no business being there. Typically super low level (which is not an issue if your of a high skill level, but it is an unneeded handicap) and off doing their own shit the whole time
@@grambo992Some classes are entirely online by level 8 or so. Big issue is if their weapons are at least purple or not. Leveling extra classes and already have relic weapons? Probably not a big handicap by level 8. Leveling your first class and have green weapons? Skill is irrelevant, your damage is just too low.
Hoping for big buffs. the amount of support in his kit, his CC and his ability to tank aren’t nearly as useful as a class or melta that could simply put down threats twice as fast
Invigorating Icon is working fine for me. I thought the bug was that it was giving that effect on the top perk of the tree that revives teammates when incapacitated? Could be wrong with all these issues and bugs but that's 1 issue I'm not having personally, thankfully
those power sword attacks where you plunge it into the ground, are those in the base power sword or do you unlock them when you get new versions as you level up
Have you tried the shield bash perk that gives you 25% more damage vs the intimidating aura? wondering why you went with intimidating aura vs that if your gunna shield bash majoris enemies anyway.
Me playing the Vanguard and Sniper and living life at below 30% healthy for absolutely insane buffs watching a Bulkwark activate his banner right next to me while I'm slaying out😢. Lmao😅
No thank you to incoming damage Funny and smart. Can I get your number. Kidding. Great vid. Great tips. I think I'm really underutilising my shield. But I'll go back and give it a go
I have built tactile and Bulwark, my bulwark was first cause I love it, and I just love the difference, I have a gun with the tactical and yet I am like “FUCK FUCK FUCK DONT GET CLOSE TO ME!” Meanwhile as a Bulwark I’m like “BRING ME TO THE SLAUGHTER!” I will admit I do usually go down but that’s just because I become too aggressive, and make the mistake of trying to parry the second I se the enemy circle thing even when that circle is orange 🤣
Should be pointed out here that the Intimidating Aura perk is bugged atm in which quipping that perk will disable any gun strikes you get upon perfect parry. I believe this to be a bug as there’s nothing else that says otherwise with this perk, meaning that we’re missing some significant DPS in our arsenal while equipping this perk.
From my test this is only partially true, it seems to disable gun strikes with in 5 meters. I've parried the whip at it's extended range and gotten a gun strike off it. Either way the dmg you get from that AoE is about the same damage 'as' a gun strike with out the animation, and in AoE. That is to say I kill a majoris enemy much faster with intimation aura dmg, then relying on gun strikes. Feels super weird though, took awhile to get used to not constantly gun striking and remaining in control lol. But it is devastating, especially against a group. edit: Oh you also still get them on the big boss on EP2 I believe. Not sure about against carnifexs.
While I agree that it should say something about gun strikes, I think it is working as intended and you are not missing any dps except maybe a 1v1. The aoe damage that it does is fantastic, seems to have zero cooldown, and will kill many minoris enemies when you parry. As a lvl 22 Bulwark running ruthless ops, I feel like it is giving me more damage output than when I was using gun strikes.
@@ashaman03I was talking about how not being able to gun strike after a parry causes Bulwark to lose out on some extra DPS that he could be using against Majoris enemies and above while having this perk equipped.
Bro they need to highlight bulwarks damage taken vs not going down in the end im always doing the same and looking at how much damage i take for my team.

Energy is a synonym for power lol but naming convection he is wrong.
I have the exact same set up
I prefer the speed too the fencing was a perk as well . I’ve already got the timing down but that speed helps for power or quick stance which i use on chaos warriors.

I wrote a big comment, and I'll copy it here so he can see what went wrong and hopefully issue a correction! i dont want to be rude or have him stop making videos or something, he just didn't really research this one at all or play the class that much and its full of misinformation thats going to confuse/make new players play worse...
Heres the whole thing:
Some mistakes here im going to want to correct, for your sake, not mine.
Video saying the fencing sword relic sword doesn't hit as many enemies. Wrong. The swings are just as wide and hit just as many enemies, the thing the low cleave does is that your DMG is scaled down in power mode, not that you hit less enemies.
And are you trolling? YOu are literally not running the single best perk in game that buffs your banner into something that is actually amazing: (the one that gives everyone full contested healthj
Not running it is an immediate sign of either you are Trolling/griefing or clueless. There is no single perk in that column that comes close to being iuseful or let alone compete for the spot
But to each to their own, if you do want more aoe damage like he says he does then yea the imperator blade is better for that. My choice will always be the Gathalamor Crusade though especially since he huge speed damage and being fencing. And with the speed your making more swings anyway so even with less cleave power mode is far from useless... Each has their own taste though... Its (relic fencing one) also good against chaos because you ideally need to burst down the flamer rubic marines as fast as possible, lest they do big damage with their flamers the longer they're up, and you usually have a lot of singular tough targets,
Another couple things: The bug that makes you repeat the first attack of your combo ONLY happens on swords with very low speed, this is because you swing so slow that your character starts to take a step in the direction you are pressing, thus resetting the combo.

PSA if you’re having trouble parrying with the bulwark, you have to press and let go of the parry button. It’s different than classes without the shield. I came from assault and couldn’t parry with the fencing sword until I found this out!
nonononooono bad bad bad advice! though you might not have meant it like that , people will misunderstand,
You parry EXACTLY the same as other classes! DO. NOT. HOLD. DOWN. the parry button, that makes you put up your shield, which does not parry.

So what perks would you run? Having some trouble staying alive in ruthless

Is that the top row? Don’t really like using light attacks other then on elites or bosses
Just mash the parry button and everything around you dies, then you can focus on nuking the majoris
The perk that does aoe on a perfect parry is your highest damage output, you want all of the enemies right next to you to hit them all.

Well this explains why I was struggling on the bulwark. Silly me I thought the shield was for melee, and not ranged.
Would love to see you talk about all the classes, specifically Heavy. I love Heavy.
If you’re just bad at the game (like me), I will say the power fists are really good for new players for the knockback resistance while doing heavies.

@@PerfectDeath4 The best perk in the tree imo is the shock wave increase (from 4 to 8 meters), a lot of times the fist will stagger a majoris so hard that the follow up heavy attack will miss because hes too far away.

It’s usable on bulwark but still feels terrible on assault
I havn't done much for the power fist on relic since I went to level chain sword and now power sword (yeah I'm doing sword last)
Fist is definitely specialized for single targets, some of the weapon perks are about doing those charged heavy attacks so stun resistance and dmg reduction while preparing the charged fist looks like a potential build.

This has caused the Thief of Secrets to lay bare the biological secrets of many Xenos races and now allows the blade's wielder to modulate its power field in order to easily kill the Deathwatch's foes. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
Cleaving not entirely necessary. The power sword knock back after a heavy swing supplies plenty of shield regen
I wish I could rock the power sword. I just cannot put down the chain sword
I'm a noob. What is stance? Power stance? Is that just heavy attack where you hold the weapon down?
You earned a like for making a really good video. Keep it up👍
Would really like to level this class, but it takes forever to find a group without someone already playing it.
Cool Energy Sword
I'm so sick of people playing on ruthless that have no business being there. Typically super low level (which is not an issue if your of a high skill level, but it is an unneeded handicap) and off doing their own shit the whole time
I agree. But also being low level and not having a decent build to help keep yourself alive or aid your team is frustrating as well.
5:55 BROTHER, THE ENEMY CORPES ARE FLOATING!
I definitely prefer Powerfist. It just feels good
Hoping for big buffs. the amount of support in his kit, his CC and his ability to tank aren’t nearly as useful as a class or melta that could simply put down threats twice as fast
Let's use the correct terminology for this weapon: Power Sword
Invigorating Icon is working fine for me. I thought the bug was that it was giving that effect on the top perk of the tree that revives teammates when incapacitated? Could be wrong with all these issues and bugs but that's 1 issue I'm not having personally, thankfully
those power sword attacks where you plunge it into the ground, are those in the base power sword or do you unlock them when you get new versions as you level up
I just wish the stance change was pulled off that attack button. Constantly change it lol.
Energy Shanker, just a glowing screwdriver 😂
Call me crazy but I really think the speed trade off is much better on the fencing sword vs balanced
What are your keybinds for this game or bulwark specifically?
Shield bashing is kinda throwing off my MB4/MB5 melee/parry keybinds.
Have you tried the shield bash perk that gives you 25% more damage vs the intimidating aura? wondering why you went with intimidating aura vs that if your gunna shield bash majoris enemies anyway.
You are gonna be parrying a lot more for majoris enemies
Me playing the Vanguard and Sniper and living life at below 30% healthy for absolutely insane buffs watching a Bulkwark activate his banner right next to me while I'm slaying out😢. Lmao😅
No thank you to incoming damage
Funny and smart. Can I get your number. Kidding.
Great vid. Great tips. I think I'm really underutilising my shield. But I'll go back and give it a go
Take a shot every time you hear enegy sword and get angry
I have built tactile and Bulwark, my bulwark was first cause I love it, and I just love the difference, I have a gun with the tactical and yet I am like “FUCK FUCK FUCK DONT GET CLOSE TO ME!”
Meanwhile as a Bulwark I’m like “BRING ME TO THE SLAUGHTER!”
I will admit I do usually go down but that’s just because I become too aggressive, and make the mistake of trying to parry the second I se the enemy circle thing even when that circle is orange 🤣
I'll watch the energy sword guide, I'm not as good with this as the chainsword
“ chewing on your butt cheeks” hahaha
Bro they need to highlight bulwarks damage taken vs not going down in the end im always doing the same and looking at how much damage i take for my team.
When selecting perks in the tree, are all the blue ones equipped already or do you have to manually equip them?
Can you link the video for the Power sword vid when you make it?
