The first time all 3 of them were in separate laps was: Slide kicks: lap 34 Jump Dive+2 Jump Kicks: 24 Jump Dives: 23 Long Jumps: 22 That time lasted for 3 frames Also imagine mario just slide kicking down the road at 59 mph.

A 96 percent speed retention means a top average speed of 135.975. 90 percent speed retention means a max average speed of 52.725, barely slower than jump dive and two kicks. I want to know if slide kicks would beat out regular jump dives on a 90% floor, since it takes time for slide kicks to accelerate and they're only slightly faster than jump dives.
What kind of floor does reduction become only 96%? Is 90 & 96 the min and max? 96% speed reduction means mario can move at 138 or so. Considering the 90 in this video, that would be pretty fast.
More seriously, I had made a video before this doing just 1 lap, and I realized that small differences in speed weren't really perceivable in that short of a distance. So I decided to do a distance so long that nobody could possibly complain about it being too short of a race

It took 16 laps for Side kicks to maximize speed of (91). In theory, the difference between them is minimal in a realistic course. Long jumps are favored in speed runs because it can be used at almost any point in the game.

Probably because you don't have the 90 speed instantly, at first it's about as fast as the long jump

A 96 percent speed retention means a top average speed of 135.975.
90 percent speed retention means a max average speed of 52.725, barely slower than jump dive and two kicks.
I want to know if slide kicks would beat out regular jump dives on a 90% floor, since it takes time for slide kicks to accelerate and they're only slightly faster than jump dives.

What kind of floor does reduction become only 96%? Is 90 & 96 the min and max? 96% speed reduction means mario can move at 138 or so. Considering the 90 in this video, that would be pretty fast.

More seriously, I had made a video before this doing just 1 lap, and I realized that small differences in speed weren't really perceivable in that short of a distance. So I decided to do a distance so long that nobody could possibly complain about it being too short of a race

I know that, but if you read the description, it takes a while to build up that speed, so over short distances jump dive + 2 jump kicks is better. I want to know at what distance that changes.

no you can use zero input BLJ to build up speed on totally flat ground, but is incredibly slow.

It took 16 laps for Side kicks to maximize speed of (91). In theory, the difference between them is minimal in a realistic course. Long jumps are favored in speed runs because it can be used at almost any point in the game.
