    Trivia time!
Which superfood boasts more potassium than a banana and more antioxidants than blueberry OR açai?
I’ll give you a hint: It’s been hailed as the “King of medicinal fungi”
I’m talking about CHAGA - one of the most nutritionally dense, immune-supporting foods in the world!
And on this episode, my guest and I talk ALL about it.
I’m joined by Brandon Mizrahie, the CEO and founder of RENUDE - the “stripped-down” beverage company and makers of the delicious chagaccino.
Brandon struggled for years with troublesome health issues and little to NO answers.
It wasn't until he turned to this ancient fungus that he began living his best, healthiest life - and discovered his passion for helping others do the same.
On this episode, Brandon and I explain what chaga could do for YOUR health - and why the chagaccino should become your new go-to drink.
    On this episode you’ll learn:
All about adaptogens - including how they support both your physical AND mental health, and some of the BEST sources on the planet (8:00)
What sets Chaga apart from other fungi and adaptogens - and the incredible effects it can have on YOUR health (4:00)
What it means to “hit the brakes” on your immune system - and how it can can actually benefit YOUR health (19:00)
How this “beauty nutrient” can support the health of your skin, hair and eyes (could it even delay the growth of grey hair?) (22:00)
The most DELICIOUS way to get the health benefits of chaga (it’s easy, convenient and super versatile) (25:00)
Cacao vs. cocoa (there IS a difference) - and why one is typically a much healthier option (29:00)
How YOU can make a “healthy frappuccino” right from home - in just a few easy steps (it’s less expensive than going to a coffee shop and JUST as delicious) (33:00)
How olympic athletes used THIS to boost their energy levels by 25% - and how you can too (It’s totally legal and completely safe) (34:30)

Great video and great product. What a shame that he doesn't use the whole medical potential of the Chaga. Steepping it in hot water only gives you the water-soluble Polysaccharides and not the fat-soluble Tripertines, which only can be extracted with alcohol. I make and taken Chaga tincture for years and only can recommend it.

Very interesting. A lot Scots moved to Australia including my lineage, unfortunately I haven't been taught of any wild mushrooms around here in Queensland other than the magic ones. There's got to be wild mushrooms that we can eat, surely. I better do some research.

I am from Edinburgh and in a local park had a sign saying they had Turkey Tail mushrooms and a picture of them. So I went in hunt not far from the sign and cut some of them and took them home to dry. When I got home and looked at them online I was doubting very much we had got the right ones. My friend who I had went with replying to my doubts with a pic message stating what she reckoned we had harvested. Artist Conks. When looking into their benefits I saw "increase nitric oxide synthase" and I had been looking at ways to increase the production of nitric oxide already in the past few years. So maybe not as well studied as Turkey Tails but very beneficial. Artist Conk chomp chomp chomp. Artist Conk bonk bonk bonk. LOL But on a serious note, what kind of alcohol do you use? 70% rum and run it through a coffee machine as you can do with Star Anise or pine needles to extract their beneficial compounds, or just ethanol?

Chaga ALONE or mix of 7 med. mushrooms? Thanks!
Turkey Tail, Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Chaga, Shiitake, Maitake, and Red Reishi.
Personally I think separate arrangements are better.
    All best sir!

I recently watched your video about dark chocolate and why it should be included in your diet…. Today, while shopping I noticed that literally ALL brands of chocolate available, including sugar free ones (in my area at least) had either soy or sunflower lectins added as an emulgator.
So I wanted to ask- was the advice given despite the lectins? Or is this just a regional thing and I got unlucky with the chocolates made here???

Dear Dr Gundry. I've been reading and listening to as much as your lovely information as I can find time for, since I first found you this last summer
I am very scientific and logical. I was drawn to you because of your sobriety in presenting your information (as opposed to the endless list of emotional nutritionists)
Since I took on your advice fully, my mum's bad hip has completely vanished, and my gut health has improved from 4 hours with the trots to almost complete normality.
So, why am I writing this?
Thinking about lectins and pressure cooking. Apparently pressure cooking only reaches 120°C. So, if I cook my potatoes or peppers or aubergines or beans in any way that exceeds 120°C, does it destroy the lectins? I'm thinking oven baking, frying, and deep frying. Is it the temperature, the pressure, or both, that destroys the lectins?
Please, if you've already answered this question, I apologise if I've missed it, please, give me a sign where it is!

Appreciate the healing journey and huge fan of mushrooms. Completely shocked on the website that a no monk fruit and especially euthyrtiol , shown on website.
Plus not everyone likes sweet. For sure sell this. But sell one without. Baffling. It’s sad not respecting folks ability to eat and drink happily without sweet. Sad, sad.

Dr. Gundry, I know this is off topic, but could you please address the issue of muscle loss in seniors? I am 73 & lectin-sensitive plus sensitive to many other plant foods as well; so I now eat way more animal foods than ever before. (And thank you SO MUCH for bringing lectins to our attention. I feel like "The Plant Paradox" literally saved my life by helping me reduce my arthritis-like pain in my feet.)
I am also obese, so experimenting w a "healthy" keto diet + time-restricted eating to lose my weight. But the one thing I am still confused about is how much protein to eat, bcz everyone I listen to or read except you and Dr. Sinclair (the longevity expert) recommend very high protein diets (1g/lb of lean muscle). And they say seniors need even more!
But you recommend much, much less, and altho' I don't know your age, I think you are certainly approaching the time in life when age-related muscle loss becomes a concern.
So again, could you please address this issue and why you do NOT believe we need the quantities of protein that so many recommend? Your help w this problem will be very greatly appreciated!

I have the same question how much protein to daily
      1) for young adult
      2) 70 years old and older
      3) major bodybuilders and world's strongest men
      as 6'5" 390lb - out of curiosity
Many of them eat constantly all day when they're not working out.10,000-15,000 cal/ day
Michael Phelps 10,000 or more/ day

      @VAdan-lr1yf 2 роки тому

Cheryl H, I'm not an expert (yet), but I think when Dr. Gundry suggests eating less protein, is because the body can transform the excess of proteins into sugars through gluconeogenesis. And we all know the consequences of too much sugar. But in order to avoid sarcopenia you have to increase your proteins (now there won't be an excess, because the body will use them for anabolism), a good idea is 2 grams * kg of body weight. And you can use eggs and fish, so you don't increase too much the red meats. As you already know, Dr. Gundry is an advocate of maintaining a healthy gut microbioma. Maybe if your "good bugs" are healthy and prosperous, they can take care of the new needs for protein in the elderly (as they can manufacture aminoacids), but not being sure, better follow Valter Longo advice and increase your proteins.😉

It appears the comments may get reviewed, so I'll try a question instead for Dr Gundry. I am a radical thinker, thankfully, so I wonder would nanny breastfeeding other people's children throughout a longer period of life prevent cancer. I thought of this within the context of Use it or Lose it, wondering about prostate cancer.

Why....would my gut react & spasm so violently to mushrooms?.
    In other news?
A mushroom walked over to a playground & group of kids playing & asked if he can play with them & they answered “no we don’t mess around with mushrooms”,
The mushroom said “why not? I’m a fun guy...”
