I tested for coeliac and I'm not coeliac but I had MASSIVE gut damage done by grains. Maybe because I ate processed grains since childhood or just grains in general. It put me on wheelchair at just 32 age. You're right about fibre becoming an issue caused by grains. My poop always floated for 16 years, I checked daily. Then I went gluten free keto. 2 days in and FIRST TIME IN LIFE my poop sank!! Been 1 week and 3 poops later, it is still sinking happily :D I eat salads and its fine, but the grains I was eating was damaging me though I'm not even coelic.
The key 🔑 is that symptoms are NOT always an indication that a food is intrinsically BAD for you. Oftentimes, it is an indication that you have simply lost TOLERANCE to that food. I see many people who have lost tolerance to high fiber foods, but once they address the root cause(s) *voila!* they can not only tolerate more foods, but thrive on them again. I see this all the time with FODMAPs and fiber in general. (Fwiw, I agree with the basic premise of your nutrition advice in this video- limit grains and sugar, stick with grass-fed meats, and eat your veggies and healthy fats 😘)
@@ΒύρωναςΛαδιάς not necessarily. Probiotics help some people, but not everyone. With IBS and SIBO (two big causes of bloating) I find that a lot more benefit comes from supporting motility and the gut-brain axis overall.

Heck, I think there are more layers still- the gut-brain axis largely refers to the vagus nerve, which is part of the autonomic nervous system. The ANS also has strong ties into the HPA axis (so, what most people would call "adrenal" stuff) and stress chemistry. When I speak on the topic, I usually layer it all into a mishmosh- vagus nerve, HPA axis/adrenals, mental health, and nervous system health in general. Hope that helps (even though it may have made it more confusing LOL)

I just appreciate that culinary culture of my country is built on fermented food - cucumbers, cabbage, sour cream, kefir, yoghurt. To almost any meat we eat a salad which consists of carrots, fermented cabbage, oil (in my country mainly sunflower oil, but in my family we use olive oil) and pepper to taste. We have also what's called "kapusta zasmażana" - fermented cabbage fried with bacon, carrots, onions, allspice, oil or butter and some scoops of flour (I know these are grains, but I think others benefits outweight it). A full battery of doctors did not believe me and when I told them what I did that you recommended they might as well have accused me of lying. My osteopath, on the other hand, said if it works, do it. I just wish I understood what it was more fully.

I tried to change my diet to eating salads everyday and I noticed that I was always bloating and I always thought it was because I have PCOS. After watching this video it all made sense. I stopped eating plants for a month and I’m not bloating at all

I love Dr. Berg's insight that we are all on a "digestive spectrum". Each person individually will discover what works best for them, and for some with severe gut issues, removing plants and fiber is a great way to start the healing journey back to omnivory.
Fat and protein. Paelomedicinia out of Hungry recommends 75-80% calories from fat, remainder from protein to heal gut permeability. Their protocol is called the PKD diet (Paleo Ketogenic), which is essentially a strict Carnivore Diet without any dairy or eggs in order to remove anything that could trigger symptoms. Then once symptoms improve, people slowly reintroduce plants again one at a time to make sure nothing is a trigger.
Every body is different. I tried pure carnivore for 2 months (after 3 years of healthy food) and finished with serious constipation. Adding (homemade) sauerkraut and leafy greens solved it in a few days.

Thank God for you Dr. Berg. I have been bloated and belchy for the longest time and could not figure out why; I started eating sauerkraut regularly about a month ago. Post Helicobacter , I have suffered from chronic Gastritis…. Grossly bloating after 1 simple slice of toasted bread ,unbeknown to me had high fibre. I looked like I was about to have triplets. This is very interesting and what I had a hunch was the cause. 🙏🏻
How are you now? I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis 2 months ago. The funny thing is my symptoms weren't that bad before the endoscopy, but after it got bad. I was on triple therapy, but I just feel worse now.

So difficult to talk about such subjects without including a degree-course in both biology and human-evolution to counter the usual pro-vegan or SAD muddle-heads. But one point I feel would aid understanding of a human-centric-diet that we generally follow here is that cats, dogs etc have a shorter digestive tract so are less prone to illness from raw-meat borne bacteria than humans and that we have adapted to survive from many food sources because of our opposing thumbs and the processing of food by washing, peeling cooking and fermenting prior to eating it. Great list and I readjust and add: Eat alot Vegetables, some need to be organic(best 3-5 per meal) Grass-fed meats, Restful sleep(best 8) Natural Sun, Excercise, Visit w/friends, family(people you enjoy- for fun and laughter) and try to keep Stress to a minimum. Well, I juice every other day, carrots apples and a large orange with some turmeric/pepper. My stomach can't handle greens in the juicing; messes up my stomach too much. But after I juice, I do get a very slight grumbling, I take it from the fiber working in my system, but nothing serious or over whelming. I eat salads with no issue. I love salads.🥗 🍎🍊🥕
Yes i totally agree with Dr Berg I remember many years ago moving away from the standard diet to a Keto diet and quickly realised that the large amounts of plant fibres where causing me major issues about nine years ago when i came in contact with Dr Bergs UA-cam channel. I remember one of Dr Bergs old videos about reducing the fibre content. I found the best diet for me is grass fed beef mainly (occasional other grass fed red meat) fresh fresh cod , salmon not farmed sardines etc and time to time good quality poultry. With vegetables only being fermented or pickled so like Kimchi, Spanish pickled garlic, Italian artichokes in extra virgin oil and pickled cucumbers. Good quality eggs and hard cheese . Anyway thanks again Dr Berg keep up the great work. 😺🙏👍
Hi ,just waw I live in urban NY.Then my building there is a slaughterhouse, so they have few animal and POULTRY. I used to buy from there but as I work hard to reduce my inflammation I have been avoiding them so far because the very thing of what do they feed the animals.Then there was this video about what causes inflammation to be avoided. When I brought up milk they wrote me to argue but here in this very video is my point .I don't have digestive issues but I do get pain ,inflammation, in 2017 among other Docs on YT I found Dr berg I stayed away from the dairies as SUGGESTED, then in less than a week I could move around after 4yrs with low carb and long fast ,my inflammation receded. But yes from what the animal is fed it can give inflammation.
Excellent, Dr. Berg. Yes, people need to heal their guts. So being individuals, do what is best for you personally. Anatomically, we as humans are omnivores, no doubt. Even our teeth resemble a cow's more than a canine's or feline's or alligator's. However, seeing as how we've all been deceived by the grain culture, we are sick through no real fault of our own and may have problems, due to gut damage, digesting these beautiful, healthful plants, which add so much color and diversity to our diet. I went on the ozempic shot and started eating more vegetables than I used too and I found out that I cannot digest raw veges hardly at all. Talk about feeling sick, even cooked veges cause me to blow up.
I ate whole grain organic bread yesterday and I felt awful today. I don’t have allergies to any foods I’m starting to think that I just can’t digest fibers from grains or plants very well.
As a big fan of Mr Berg it's sad to see his miss the mark on a few of these things, truly. He's helped me greatly in the past, but as I learn more I realise how much of what Berg says is just false. Quite disheartening.

Dr Berg, please do a video on long-term low fibre diet for those who have had abdominal surgery, have adhesions/scar tissue/strictures, and thus unfortunately run the very real risk of life-threatening intestinal obstruction. I can only do cooked veggies and wven then i still see some of them again. But when i tried just carnivore i got pretty sick as well. Idk of course people said oxalate dumping if thats true i couldnt hang. Just want to eat fruit veggies and some grass fed meat and be normal...if you truly heal the gut is that possible

Since I started IF and OMAD I'm often bloated. Now the only carbs I tolerate are legumes and veggies. When I eat rice or bread my skin gets itchy at night when sleeping. When I ate 3-6 regular meals I never had this problem, but many other problems appeared like sleep disturbances. Now I sleep much better
Great video, I have experimented with meat only and salad/plant only diets and very quickly came to the conclusion that neither is a suitable option for me. Meaning that I felt both are necessary so I usually have a salad wrap with steak or meatball on it. I usually feel less bloating and gas like this plus feel more satisfied. Just starting to move to keto and I am in the middle. I used to just do the elimination diet, with allergic sensitivity. Been trying all types of food that don’t cause light indigestion after eating but now feel this is the answer! Makes sense ! Hope store bought sauerkraut is ok? I am fasting for the month of January so I have an opportunity to reset my diet again. My plan is to focus on primarily eating big organic salads with lots of ingredients once or twice a day. I don't really care about being low carb, but I want to be high protein, so nuts, seeds, hard boiled eggs, smoked salmon, steak, chicken, bacon bits etc. My goal will be to get strong working out building muscle by eating in a calorie surplus. I don't want keto because I see the glycogen in my muscles as fuel for exercise. If and when I build up fat stores again I will fast it off next January rinse and repeat each year to cycle my bodies natural fat storage system regularly.

Their protocol is called the PKD diet (Paleo Ketogenic), which is essentially a strict Carnivore Diet without any dairy or eggs in order to remove anything that could trigger symptoms. Then once symptoms improve, people slowly reintroduce plants again one at a time to make sure nothing is a trigger.

Every body is different. I tried pure carnivore for 2 months (after 3 years of healthy food) and finished with serious constipation. Adding (homemade) sauerkraut and leafy greens solved it in a few days.

So difficult to talk about such subjects without including a degree-course in both biology and human-evolution to counter the usual pro-vegan or SAD muddle-heads. But one point I feel would aid understanding of a human-centric-diet that we generally follow here is that cats, dogs etc have a shorter digestive tract so are less prone to illness from raw-meat borne bacteria than humans and that we have adapted to survive from many food sources because of our opposing thumbs and the processing of food by washing, peeling cooking and fermenting prior to eating it. Thank you Dr Berg for continuing the improved diet of human-kind.

Well, I juice every other day, carrots apples and a large orange with some turmeric/pepper. My stomach can't handle greens in the juicing; messes up my stomach too much. But after I juice, I do get a very slight grumbling, I take it from the fiber working in my system, but nothing serious or over whelming. I eat salads with no issue. I love salads.🥗 🍎🍊🥕

Yes i totally agree with Dr Berg I remember many years ago moving away from the standard diet to a Keto diet and quickly realised that the large amounts of plant fibres where causing me major issues about nine years ago when i came in contact with Dr Bergs UA-cam channel. I remember one of Dr Bergs old videos about reducing the fibre content. I found the best diet for me is grass fed beef mainly (occasional other grass fed red meat) fresh fresh cod , salmon not farmed sardines etc and time to time good quality poultry. With vegetables only being fermented or pickled so like Kimchi, Spanish pickled garlic, Italian artichokes in extra virgin oil and pickled cucumbers. Good quality eggs and hard cheese . Anyway thanks again Dr Berg keep up the great work. 😺🙏👍

Hi ,just waw I live in urban NY.Then my building there is a slaughterhouse, so they have few animal and POULTRY. I used to buy from there but as I work hard to reduce my inflammation I have been avoiding them so far because the very thing of what do they feed the animals.Then there was this video about what causes inflammation to be avoided. When I brought up milk they wrote me to argue but here in this very video is my point .I don't have digestive issues but I do get pain ,inflammation, in 2017 among other Docs on YT I found Dr berg I stayed away from the dairies as SUGGESTED, then in less than a week I could move around after 4yrs with low carb and long fast ,my inflammation receded. But yes from what the animal is fed it can give inflammation.

Anatomically, we as humans are omnivores, no doubt. Even our teeth resemble a cow's more than a canine's or feline's or alligator's.
However, seeing as how we've all been deceived by the grain culture, we are sick through no real fault of our own and may have problems, due to gut damage, digesting these beautiful, healthful plants, which add so much color and diversity to our diet.
I love plant-based meals and look forward to eating them more, once I've healed some health issues. Highest love to all.

I went on the ozempic shot and started eating more vegetables than I used too and I found out that I cannot digest raw veges hardly at all. Talk about feeling sick, even cooked veges cause me to blow up.

I ate whole grain organic bread yesterday and I felt awful today.
I don’t have allergies to any foods I’m starting to think that I just can’t digest fibers from grains or plants very well.

As a big fan of Mr Berg it's sad to see his miss the mark on a few of these things, truly. He's helped me greatly in the past, but as I learn more I realise how much of what Berg says is just false. Quite disheartening.
A lot of the carnivore influencers will say grass or grain fed doesn't matter. I don't believe them.

What are some good options for Sauerkraut meals? I am Pescatarian. Mainly Veggies, Fish, eggs. I always associate kraut with hot dogs. I’m trying to limit consumption of vegetarian meats. Had with eggs and gluten free bread. It seemed to do well together. Seeking better options. TY!

Dr Berg, please do a video on long-term low fibre diet for those who have had abdominal surgery, have adhesions/scar tissue/strictures, and thus unfortunately run the very real risk of life-threatening intestinal obstruction. I can only do cooked veggies and wven then i still see some of them again. But when i tried just carnivore i got pretty sick as well. Idk of course people said oxalate dumping if thats true i couldnt hang. Just want to eat fruit veggies and some grass fed meat and be normal...if you truly heal the gut is that possible
Now I understand why I feel bloated and a bit constipated despite eating mostly salads and fiber this whole week. I suffer from Colitis and Reflux :( Going to try to avoid fiber for now.

Since I started IF and OMAD I'm often bloated. Now the only carbs I tolerate are legumes and veggies. When I eat rice or bread my skin gets itchy at night when sleeping. When I ate 3-6 regular meals I never had this problem, but many other problems appeared like sleep disturbances. Now I sleep much better
Possibly, some of Dr Berg’s videos on digestion of fats may help, such as on bile salts, how to fast correctly, ect. ❤

Great video, I have experimented with meat only and salad/plant only diets and very quickly came to the conclusion that neither is a suitable option for me. Meaning that I felt both are necessary so I usually have a salad wrap with steak or meatball on it. I usually feel less bloating and gas like this plus feel more satisfied. I think I will take your advice and include some sauerkraut in my diet also. Kind Regards from Australia

Tips to support your microbiome and overall gut health:
1. If you consume animal products, consume grass-fed, grass-finished animal products.
2. If you are vegan or vegetarian, don't consume grains.
3. If you have severe gut problems, try a carnivore diet with grass-fed, grass-finished animal products.
4. If you have less severe problems with digestion, try consuming fermented vegetables along with grass-fed, grass-finished animal products.
5. If you don't have any digestive problems, try consuming a combination of plants (not grains) and grass-fed, grass-finished animal products.

Just starting to move to keto and I am in the middle. I used to just do the elimination diet, with allergic sensitivity. Been trying all types of food that don’t cause light indigestion after eating but now feel this is the answer! Makes sense ! Hope store bought sauerkraut is ok? Fiber literally cleans out your insides. It's a broom that sweeps the food out of our intestines. Fiber is extremely important. Dr. Berg eats a giant salad every day. There's his Fiber. I can tell you that the more fiber I eat, the healthier I feel and I keep weight off easily. It's really the key for weightloss. It fills you up with little calories.

I am fasting for the month of January so I have an opportunity to reset my diet again. My plan is to focus on primarily eating big organic salads with lots of ingredients once or twice a day. I don't really care about being low carb, but I want to be high protein, so nuts, seeds, hard boiled eggs, smoked salmon, steak, chicken, bacon bits etc. My goal will be to get strong working out building muscle by eating in a calorie surplus. I don't want keto because I see the glycogen in my muscles as fuel for exercise. If and when I build up fat stores again I will fast it off next January rinse and repeat each year to cycle my bodies natural fat storage system regularly.
