I put down a deposit on a Limited Hybrid because the demand is so high you have to wait 3-4 month minimum. Dealers keep calling me about the ICE models as those are not moving as fast as the Hybrids.
At my dealer last month. 20 RAV 4 gas, zero hybrids. I bought the Highlander Limited gas turbo at a $ 3700 discount, with no junk options. As a low mileage driver, most sensible buy. I can’t tell it’s a 4 cylinder.
You are really smart! That dealership looks like Coggins Toyota, because, that is where I purchased my 2022 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD! No addendum! Also, I didn't pay for none of the none sense that they added at the port, like you said everything is negotiable! Your reviews are very good and knowledgeable! Thank you for sharing!
That’s the dealership! Good eyes. I think everyone has just gotten use to what happened during Covid and the dealerships are still trying to take advantage. Thank you for watching and your comments!
The hybrid GH is more efficient AND faster than the gas model, so best of both worlds. Dealers wont budge on the hybrid cuz of high demand. I know cuz i just bought the Lexus TX 500H, paid MSRP and I'm a repeat customer
For someone who drives a hybrid 4 cylinder engine, they are very impressive the first few weeks, but then the regrets after the 4 cylinder characteristics begin to show up. The not so fun to drive outdid my quest for greater mileage
In all honesty, the 2.4l turbo has been more than adequate in this car. The hybrid would only be about adding power. But there are two versions on the hybrid. One for supposedly more gas mileage and one for more power.
I agree, we have had two previous generations Acura MDX and when I test drove the new Grand Highlander as a possible replacement for our current 2020 MDX I really missed the power and the handling of the MDX. I also want a bench seat and for some odd reason neither Toyota or Lexus are doing that for higher trims in TX or Grand Highlander.
Most people want the hybrid versions, which is why you don't see any on the lot. Seems like they get sold even before they get onto the lot. Like you said, probably can get some money off the gas only versions. Once Toyota opens their North Carolina battery plant, they're most likely going to start producing more hybrid versions and less of the gas only versions to meet demand.
There will be more and more availability of the hybrid ones very soon. Demand is slowing through all sectors of the car market. THE DEALS ARE COMING!!!! Thanks for watching!
I was at a Toyota dealership that sells 700 cars a month and when they were handing me my keys there were 3 other people receiving thier car at the same time thats what a busy dealership looks like.
I think it is because people don't like turbo engine in general. If no one buys them this year, rumor says Toyota will bring back the V6 next year. So hold on to your checkbook until the change comes.
If you lower interest rates, it will speed up inflation. If you raise them, you will cause a crash, this is why. Paul Walker in 1980 had interest rates or maybe 82 were about 20%. That's how he got hold of inflation.
I just stopped into my local Toyota dealer and the ONLY vehicles they had on the lot were Tundras and Primes that people were paying 10k over MSRP for last year. I left an inquiry about a hybrid corolla and no one even called me back.
OMG- why are people paying that crap?! Sorry to hear you don’t get calls back… that’s terrible. If you are in Florida go to St Augustine Toyota! Talk to Pheaon! He’s awesome!
There are 2 hybrid options for the grand highlander. The regular hybrid that gets roughly 36 mpg and the hybrid max that gets less mpg than the regular hybrid but has a lot more power and a 6 speed transmission.
Thank you for the update. I appreciate you watching. I will be continually on the hunt looking for all of these vehicles plus, I will continue to look at my local dealers to see how things start stacking up and report that to everybody.
@SoarAndMore all good brother. I live right down the road from the Toyota plant that makes them. I own a limited hybrid right now. Toyota/Lexus is a way of life around here lol.
I'd be curious what you get high mileage only (actual calculation, full tank, trip odometer, then gas it up). Many are saying they only average 22-24 when cruising near 80mph in the turbo i4 - which seems kind of bad compared to 90+ in the '22 limited highlander V6 i barely got below 27 and over 29 in the low 70s mixed highway/mountain climbs.
Ya, we had a 2018 Highlander v6 and at best on long road trips was 22.6 MPG- advertised was 26MPG. So we are on our first tank of Premium and it’s 18.1MPG City. Advertised is 21 city… so we will see
@@AviatorsGarage That's interesting. The same engine 2gr-fks and 8speed in the 2020 body style (specifically a '22 limited fwd), but from Southeast TX to NorCal, even where it's 85mph on the way to El Paso, so going at least 90, I got 27mpg, but easily achieve 29mpg through all of California. Maybe the body style is more aerodynamic, this latest gen does seem more like a station wagon. Based on that experience I saw someone do a highway trip in the turbo i4 and they said they got 22.something which i thought seemed pretty low for a i4 unless it just needs a bit more power at high speeds.
