Toyota's Achilles heel is its inventory. These new announcements are cool, but if I have to wait six months and/or pay a dealer markup there is no point.

Kirk, We would welcome a LE test drive and this is certainly grand news for fans of plus-sized Highlanders.🥳🥳 I wonder if Toyota Canada is about to poke us in the eye by denying us the new Grand Highlander LE. 🤔
With the GH’s base price being 40860 and HL’s base price being 39520 before destination fees, I just don’t see people buying the Highlander unless people have smaller garages so I just don’t see how the ICE Highlander survives and it’s monthly sales have reached 5k a month so an EV Highlander seems to be real now
Paid $21k for me 1996 Camry LE. That's $42k inflation adjusted, same price as a Grand Highlander Hybrid! Camry LE wagon was over $23k back then, or $50k inflation adjusted!!
The LE hybrid all-wheel drive is going to be perfect for areas that have snow, so it's not the worst decision there's some people that are not going to waste money just buying a front-wheel drive SUV in certain areas
We like our 23 Highlander XSE blacked out with red interior. Hard to find one. So far good but we were paying $600 a month and 1k of insurance in Az for 6 months.
The LE is perfect for me. I have been hoping for this trim level. I wrote Toyota many times about not having LE trims on many of their vehicles. Hopefully if will have cloth seats as well and not vinyl (softex) which I don't like at all.
We have the XLE that seats 8.... turbo. 70000 km in 13 months... still waiting for the recall fix... the notice said to not drive with the front windows down and you are fine.
@@nwsvndr Looks like the crash test results show that there's a risk that the front driver's or passengers head can slip between the front air bag and the side airbag / a pillar bag (not sure what's it's called) in certain impacts like small overlap I believe. I believe Kirk was one of the first to release this news, a couple days before it broke in the larger media.
If the hybrid nightshade edition comes with an 8 seater, I'm getting it for sure. I love Toyota's nightshade option on their models. It just blacks out all of the ugly chrome and makes the car look so much better.
I have a 21 Sienna XSE front wheel drive. I agree with you! The hybrid powertrain is adequate & efficient. I would consider a Grand Highlander but at this point what is the point? My Sienna is paid off with only 60,000 miles on it. We don’t have any human kids, but we have Two 70 pound shepherds. Honestly, I think I would miss the sliding door. The new Sienna’s are so hard to get. A new Sienna XSE with the premium package is the one to get. I do enjoy taking my 21 to the dealer and watching them try to convince me to trade it in. 😂. I do like the Crown Signia, but the new headlight design that all the manufacturers are going to is a dealbreaker for me. I hate it when a vehicle looks like it’s driving around with its headlights off and it’s fog or driving lights on. It’s just ridiculous. Estero, FL 🌴
41k GH seems like a great option but will they produce enough or will I be on a 1+ year waiting list for an allocation? Only to have to cancel it once the local dealer decides to put mandatory add ons I didn't ask for.
Great video but your calculation of range for hybrid GH is misleading and didn’t consider the dreaded GAS TANK ISSUE of Toyotas. These GH hybrids can not take more than 11 to 13 gallons on an empty tank and supposedly have a large 5 gallon reserve. Because of this, the true range on a hybrid is around 400-450 miles which is much less than the theoretical range of 585 miles (17.2 *34 MPG).
Grand highlander will not kill the highlander whatsoever. Instead they will reposition the normal highlander as more smaller and cheaper choice. Just like how kia/Hyundai does With the Sorento and Santa Fe
The A pillar crumples like a cream puff in a front offset crash, is that what was fixed with the recall? With regards to the new LE, American consumers are saying these days they want a basic but more affordable car and now we will get a chance to see [via the metric of sales figures ] if people will put their money where their mouth is and are willing to have something more basic for a lower price.
I told everybody if they add an LE grade to the grand Highlander the smaller Highlander is going to be terminated around 2026 maybe 2027 and they’re adding an early grade so let’s see what happens in the next year or two or three
The thing about my new Tesla model Y is it comes fully equipped, so no need for a grand version. The power adjustable steering wheel is a hoot. Took me two weeks to find that because the features of this car are too plentiful to learn immediately.
Offering the LE is a plus as these things have gotten way too expensive. Seeing lots of Grand Highlanders in our community, but I don't see us moving away from our 21 Highlander Limited. The V6 is just too good
Toyota needs to get back to basics and lower the prices for most of their models. The current TSBs, recalls, and stop sales are hurting thier reputation for reliability and value.
Pricing from Toyota is more than fine and doesn't need decreasing. Recalls and issues can happen. Vehicles like the Tacoma tundra and so on are all selling very well.
Adding ugly satanic black trim is a downgrade, not added options which there are no good at it options. Toyota failed to listen to its customers who want a bench seat in all trims and all interior colors in the standard hybrid which insanely is not allowed

What model year do we expect to see Arene in the Highlander?
Living in an area of Canada with lots of snow I want the hybrid AWD, but completely understand that if you are in a mild climate FWD is preferable.
I hope the Limited platinum has an option with the regular hybrid with a bench seat in middle
Cost difference between Grand Highlander hybrid LE/XLE is shocking ngl, would’ve expected LE to be priced lower

lower cost for the vehicle itself or lower cost with the dealer mark up?
Both. Cars are not selling too well.
Lower MSRP, manufacturers have very little control over what dealerships do
