And underrated for the talents he had

Susan Dey never got over him, though she married twice, and had a child of her own. He broke her heart.
The emotions are all over her face, her. I believe she was mad, crazy in love with him. Probably until the day he died. He looked like he was kind of trying to contain himself, also. You can see he had affection for her. I think the memories came flooding back for him in that moment. Even though, he didn't feel the mad, crazy love for her in the same way, he felt for her. She looked like she was going to burst out crying. Plus, his wife was there, and oh what a jealous look on her face! Like, " you better leave him alone, he's mine!"
Just think if he had been able to give her a chance, what gorgeous children they would have had! Such is life. RIP David.

I remember being there for the taping of this show. At that time I worked there. The audio tech asked me if I wanted to help mic David. I wanted to but didn’t want to invade his privacy.💁🏻‍♀️I saw him in the hallway walking to the studio. We acknowledged each other with a nod and smiled. I played it cool.😊Tech said to me, I never saw you with the biggest smile before.🤭 March 10-11.2023 saw Shaun Cassidy concert. He still has his voice. He sang David’s song and I swear he sounded like David. Bless them both.❤️💙💜🖤♥️💛💚🧡🤍🤎🌸🌹🌺

It was fun working with David on this event. The arrangement of “I think I love you” was something he always talked about doing and we worked it up and rehearsed it the week before this show was recorded. It was a great band too. The drummer (Kenny Altbush) and I had just come back from the Endless Summer Beachboys tour that David was the opening act for. The Harp Player, (Warren Hamm) only did this one gig with us. He is a fine player and singer also and plays many instruments. We were all told in advance to look surprised and David was supposed to be doing a TV interview but these things are set up in advance so the honorees know what is going to happen. It was really a lovely day.

You know the story behind their relationship, don't you? She was infatuated with him, they dated, she wanted to sleep with him but he wasn't interested because she wasn't "dirty enough" for his tastes--he thought she was too nice and he liked girls who were "nastier" sexually. He broke her heart and she never got over him.

Not true Catnip. They did get together and had a one night stand (it’s in his book). He loved her as a close friend and knew she liked him beyond that close friend relationship. He didn’t want to hurt her but after that night they realized it wasn’t a good idea. They remained close until he spoke about it in his autobiography and she was very angry and never talked with him or did anymore Partridge reunions (according to David).

I completely understand. I was a huge fan when I was 11, had all the records, pictures on the wall and never missed an episode of the Partridge Family. He made a huge impact on me at such a young age and although real-life over took, I finally achieved my one ambition to see him live at a 70's Reunion Show at Wembley Arena in 2007. I was absolutely heartbroken to hear he had passed away and I think it's because I'll always associate those feelings he stirred in me at such a young age and that I feel he had gone too soon. I read that things weren't great between David's real mother and Shirley Jones when Shirley first got together with Jack Cassidy. But perhaps that was only in the beginning and they were able to be friends eventually. After all, David adored his mother, but he loved Shirley too. Thanks for posting this. Of all the teen idols of my youth David was the one for me. He was absolutely beautiful -that face, that hair. I was 10-14 during the original run of his show. I had most of their albums. I'm not one of those people who gets excited or star-struck by celebrities, like those silly teenage girls screaming, fainting and crying over Elvis and The Beatles I always thought they were ridiculous. But in the late 90s I went to one of David's shows in Vegas. I was so excited for weeks about seeing him. During the show, I was one of the lucky ones who got a close encounter. He came to my table, took my hand, leaned over, looked me in the eyes and sang to me. OMG I was so thrilled. I felt strange and high and warm and fuzzy and weak. Is that what it is like to faint? I don't know but that is as close as I have ever come and I was about 37 or 38 then. I felt like it was just us there, for a moment. For the rest of the night I walked around with a big smile and a far away look. That was the charm and affect of David Cassidy on young girls. But I was almost 40! How would I have reacted if I were 14? Now I finally understood those silly crying Beatles fans. I'm 57 now. I love rock, pop, soul, R & B. Classic and contemporary. I am obsessed with Ed Sheeran. But I still enjoy my Partridge Family CDs and David's solos. I am one of those silly girls.

I was really too old even at the time to be 'into' a David Cassidy. But I did like his step-mom Shirley Jones. I always loved "The Partridge Family Christmas Album". I had it on L.P. 'back-in-the-day' and I have it now on CD. It is one of my favorite Christmas albums. I seen David Cassidy in his tour of the B'way show "Little Johnny Jones" and he was suburb. I had him sign the shows program and he was so kind, generous and friendly. I truly believe he was a good person. I too am glad David Cassidy's
career was in my lifetime. I did like his "Partridge Family" TV sit-com. R.I.P. Dear Soul

Lu Lu exactly my thoughts. I was a teenager in the 70s, ten years younger than David, so Donny Osmond was my idol, but David was the talented one and did most of his journey on his own not like the Osmond's or the Jacksons who were the main ones around in those days. Being from the U K, David never seemed to be seen or heard from until recently with the news of his dementia. That's was so upsetting, but now he's no longer with us, its hard to believe. I never realized how much he was part of my teenage years and the impact on me he has left since his passing. I like you, are blessed knowing he was part of our lives, and we were there in those wonderful years, the best years in my opinion. I have been watching his videos a lot since he passed and he was absolutely beautiful in looks and personality. Rest in peace David😄

David Cassidy was just a kid...
19 -24 at the crazy height of his fame and career. DC was never prepared for what happened to him. They, the powers that be, owned his name and likeness, and bilked him out of millions and millions of dollars! DC made five hundred million dollars for those theives to steal and PROFIT BIG TIME from DC. DC was their cash cow. I don't think DC ever got over how he was so used and abused. Working 18 hour days: TPF, TPF RECORDS, THE DC RECORDS, INTERVIEWS, TELEVISION SPECIALS, and WORLD TOURS ON HIS HIATUS. For the most part, I don't think DC ever really enjoyed that early chaotic mess! Let's be real one and all, DC was a womanizer. Made no bones about the fact that he slept with groupies and even had women brought to him anytime he wanted. DC was even serviced by Betty the Butter Queen! Read his autobiography... I don't need to say more. DC never came to have the relationship he wanted so badly with his father, JACK CASSIDY. JC dies in his apartment from a fire, and DC and JC had not spoken to each other for nine months prior to JC's sudden death. This traumatised him for the rest of his life. DC's mom, Evelyn Ward, having dementia, broke his heart. DC did save DANNY BONADUCE! All the love and support helping him get over drugs and alcohol. DC really did think of DB as another brother. They both loved and respected each other. A successful career on Broadway, and then Vegas, with EFX, etc.. His son, Beau, and his horses, is what I believe gave him the will to live. Three failed marriages, three drunk driving arrests. Bankruptcy. DC had lots of up and downs in his life. I just don't think he was truly very happy, Danny Bonaduce said this also. The truly sad part is that DC brought so much joy, laughter, and talent into our lives. DC's death was like losing a part of our childhood.

Jack's appearance as a cold blooded murderer in a Columbo episode really made a lasting impression on me. I teared up a lot watching this. Not just because I was a big fan, but because of the sadness of the end of Davids life, his Father’s treatment of him. Ripped off by the studio who produced the Partridge Family. Most of all, do you notice that every time this is mentioned or of the early sensation he was, he always looks uncomfortable even upset. He made so many people happy with that beautiful voice. I even got front row tickets when he performed in Sydney, Australia, must have been between 2000-2002. What a performance. A True professional and Artist. The night before he passed away I was on business trip, had this very clear dream about David, talking with him, meeting him etc. Later that following night they announced that you had passed away. I couldn’t believe it. I still know that the dream I had, was him and a very special connection was made. David RIP, you said as you knew that you were dying, how much wasted time. No wasted time David. You were very Special to So Many people. I am so glad that your Mother passed away before you, she would not have to deal with that. You are both together now. 💗💗🇦🇺
