Glad I watched this in my recommended.... David Cassidy was my childhood crush and have loved him ever since... went to see him locally in concert 10 years or so ago, wonderful!! I have watched a lot about him and his life, and this just confirmed the sadness of his childhood, which haunted him throughout his life... Sad that a father could not be supportive of and proud of, and happy for his son!! The anguish that caused David! Sad!! 😞
I remember Jack from his performances in "Columbo". Not only was he a great actor, he had that, "it" factor on screen, which a lot of greats just dont have. Very underrated talent, and its sad how he passed.

I think there is something about him that was off putting and affected his career trajectory. His acting style was more suited to stage than screen. His jealousy of Shirley and David was pathetic and resulted in some cruelty; no excuse for that. Horrible ending for anyone regardless. 🙁

I couldn't stand him. There was something very off putting about him; to me there was a very strong element of evil within him that words could not come close putting into words; and his treatment of his sons and wife Shirley was horrible.
The guy was outstanding on Broadway...absolutely superb in several shows. The TV series with RIchard Benjamin shown in this video was an idiotic gig beneath his talents, but he probably figured that was the kinda junk (a la 'Gilligan's Island' and the like) that became popular. Clearly had ego problems though that got the best of him, unfortunately.
