Local hit in the greater Bay Area by Little Roger and the Goosebumps, late 70s. Lots of airplay on college radio in Davis (KDVS). I recall the LZ inc. (i.e., Jimmy Page) had some sort of copyright-based legal action against this. Does anybody remember that?
you are correct.. even worse, plant was interviewed sometime in early 2000's asking his favorite cover of the song and he said the little roger and the goosebumps one was. unbelievable
The first time I ever heard it on the radio... I remember having to pull to the side of the freeway until it was done... I was laughing too hard to drive safely. I don't think it was KFRC, it was probably KYA or KSAN. Rumor has it that Robert Plant heard that broadcast as well.
Originally done by Little Roger & The Goosebumps way back in the day, but I like this version better. Well Done!! Here's the original band doing it live recently, it's the only one I could find but wanted to give credit where it's due. ua-cam.com/video/WK4p87OtImA/v-deo.html But Greg's version was a fantastic rendition, I used to do stand up and this really had some very cool original nuances added that took it up a notch or three imo!
If its joke, then it's joke stealing. Don't ever tell the joke. If it's cover of a song parody, then it's a tribute to the parody artist. Just wait for the applause to die down and then credit the parody artist properly.
He has synthesized three bits and done them better than the original artists. I am sorry, but in comedy, you can do other people's bits. Especially if you do it as well or better. I am sure he has plenty of his own material. as well.
looks like a bloated Brendan Fraser & I'd rather listen to a goose break wind.i bought the original 45 in 1980 & the version sucks. yep, page sued Little Roger & the goosebumps.
Little Roger & the Goosebumps did this parody song originally, the FULL version (search for 'Stairway to Gilligan's Island' here on UA-cam to see/hear it)...this guy totally ripped it off as his own...BOOO...;(
@@not_yet_a_saint Hmmmmm...I just went back and listened to the intro again. And you're technically correct. He never claims, in so many words, to have written it. What he does is talk about Led Zepp. "...7 minutes and 32 seconds long. I don't know any of the words. So now, I'm thinking: 'Can I get from the beginning to the end of Stairway to Heaven not knowing any of the words. And will the drunk people notice the difference?" So, yeah. He spends 30 seconds talking about Led Zeppelin and his inability to remember their lyrics. That's all. Certainly leaves the impression with the audience that it's HIS tune though. How do I know? Well, I read the caption by the original poster, who wrote, "This guy was on a cruise ship and he is pretty funny. He has his own verison of 'Stairway to Heaven'." Yeah, but no. It's NOT "his own verison" (or even his own version, for that matter).
Rest In Peace Dawn Wells! Hope she is taking the stairway to heaven! 🌴😢
Puddles Pity Party covered this recently, with permission from Little Roger and the Goosebumps.
Hope he gave credit to Little Roger & the Goosebumps!
Well, at least Puddles'...and did a creative video with credit
@@mreunome Puddles did it great, but he also took it from Little Roger and the Goosebumps.
this needs way more likes...

I think Greg has been on Bob & Tom Show ( Morning Radio )
Genius!
A sacrilege to be sure but I like it!!!
Good parody for sure!🎸🎶🎶👍😉
Dogmand, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time...HILARIOUS!
Amazing!

Oh I loved it !
At least he stole something clever.
This guy is good

This guy is a thief. He stole this bit from Little Roger & the Goosebumps who recorded it in the 70s.
Yeah, he's stealing the bit, but he does a better impression of Robert Plant.
My car's on fire! It's not stealing, it's homage. And he's doing it brilliantly!
@@leslielandberg5620 if it was "homage" he would have given Little Roger and the Goosebumps credit. In the intro, he claims he "made it up." Nope.
Who originated this song?
Now that is funny
I didn't notice...
Genious !

this is a copy. rip off
The longest song by Zeppelin is moby dick or Achilles last stand!
Carouselambra
Thank you. It is funny.
How the hell can that guy tune his guitar? Looks like it's half sawed off...
Or, actually the very end looks sawed off... 0.o
who died, and made him, both plant and page???
Who died, and left you, so many extra commas??? William, Shatner?
Traveler is the brand name. The strings are secured where the headstock would normally be and the tuners are within the body.
not even Little Roger
this guy is good, wish I knew his name...
Rip off, if you're going to plagiarize at least give credit to the originals. Little Roger with Bay Area metal band Earthquake
...Bobby Sandalks
another comic ripping off another persons joke
hack. give credit to the original artist who created this
no

this version sucks, original version rocks
He stole it, doesn’t do it well, and isn’t funny.
agreed, glad I didn't pay to see his sorry keister
Not cool. This is Roger and the Goosebumps creation, not yours. Not funny either.

Karstens Creations ever heard amazing Grace sung to the Gilligan's theme makes it really nice.
Do you know what a cover is?
@@squwooshk indeed I do. And, to the best of my knowledge, it's NOT some guy claiming in the intro that he "thought up" the tune.
