I watched this whole series, and it did one thing right. The scene were ashoka cuts vaders mask, and you can see Anakin, and you hear Anakin and Darth Vader at the same time. That was good shit.
Federica Fortunato although ahsoka leaving the jedi kind of moves some distrust from anakin to the council which kind of powers his motives against them
I liked Rebels, it's a stupid show but if I turn my brain off I can enjoy it. However I will never forgive that they crammed Ezra into the Vader vs Ahsoka and Obi-Wan vs Maul conflicts. He had no right being there. Hell, half of the Ahsoka vs Vader fight is OFF SCREEN so we can focus on Ezra. Makes me so mad, especially because Anakin/Vader and Ahsoka are my top 2 favourite characters in the franchise so I was really looking forward to the reunion.
I appreciate the video so i can save myself hours of my life and not watch this garbage. I made it through season 1 and just decided to maybe catch up later. NOPE!
I don't. That was awesome. I agree 100%. Well 99%.. That magic time travel was BS. Did not think that was good at all. Okay cool voices from the previous movies. 1 brownie point from the fans. But that's about it. Okay so. Palpatine can enter that realm cause he's a space wizard? Granted he is. But he ain't Lord Voldemort. That's Not how the Force works! Lastly the ONLY good thing that came out of this series was that Old Ben Kenobi Vs. Darth Maul fight. That was excellent and excecuted with class. No flashy bs. We got a believable Alec Guinness style obi wan with his dissective speech fused with Ewan McGregor/Kenobi's defensive tactics style. Overall that might be the only thing that is a.saving grace for the show. Ahsoka was great to see but not enough to save the show.
That two-parter geonosis episode, first with the geonosian zombies and then with the worms going in all the clone troopers’ noses while Ahsoka has to survive was some of the scariest shit my 8 year old self had ever seen. Deleted that off my DVR right as the episode finished because I knew there was no way in hell I was watching that again.
William Robb I’m sorry but you’re wrong Rex WAS at the battle of endor and it is confirmed by Sabine Wren when she told in the last scene that so Hera and Rex fought there. Check out the last scene if you havent
This is really depressing with Rukh. Rukh was the grey alien, but in the novels and comics, he was basically Thrawn's bodyguard, but had ideals of his own, and followed his own code. Thrawn trusted him, but you could tell a lot of what Rukh did was on his own. He would often harass and sneak up on officers to test their awareness, and was THE guy to finally kill Thrawn once he found out the Empire was lying to the Noghiri. To see such an interesting side character that worked well with Thrawn reduced to "That Grey Ninja Guy". Is really depressing.
Right though? I wish they hadn't touched the EU characters at all. Just leave the separate canon alone instead of bringing things back just to ruin it and appeal with shallow fan service.
zachanikwano I’m starting to agree with this statement more. Many people were complaining when they found out Boba Fett wouldn’t be in Season 4 of Rebels. But truthfully, I’m glad they didn’t bring him back. As sad as it is, this show could’ve easily reduced Boba to a generic bad guy.
ASlimySlugIsInvadingYourBase Id rather they not do that reboot the old republic era. Let that stay on the games and comic and books. They already made Thrawn a talk shit do no shit type person.
Maria Meanwhile in the original 6 hands, arms and head were chopped like there is no tomorrow. Make it lame doesn’t equal child friendly. And George said that Star Wars is for 12 year olds.
Nick Spencer this is true but you don’t see that stuff and the hitting wasn’t that type it’s literally Tom and Jerry level bonking on the head with a base ball bat.
I’ll honestly say, at the very least, the scene with darth Vader and ahsoka in the temple where you hear anakins voices buried under the the filter made me super emotional
Ahsoka and Darth Vader: *Have the clear highlight of the show, with one of the most intense and emotionally investing parts of both the Clone Wars and Rebels series* Ezra: wOaH i NeEd MoAr TrAiNiNg!!!!11!1!
The most frustrating part of season 4 was seeing how Sabines family seemingly died because of her creation and that was a pretty emotional scene and i was like dang i finally get to see sabine become a character? But no only to find that the weapon she made that vaporized everyone else didnt kill her mom and brother because “wE cAnT hAvE faMilY DiE tHatS nOt hOw fAmiLy woRkS iN reAL LiFe”
I mean don't you think it's because they were the ones who actually got warned by Sabine? That was made pretty clear in the show as the only reason they were able to escape the blast mostly unharmed.
The whole premise of this Mary Sue being even bigger Mary Sue than she already was through the series and making her also a supergenius who invented a superweapon when she was like 12 was a superdumb idea in the first place. She also trained like one or two days with the darksaber and was able to keep up with a Jedi. Meanwhile in canon part of the galaxy: Din cut himself and struggled with the "weight" of it, and Paz who is huge and strong could barely use the darksaber because of its "weight". Sabine should not even be able to hold it still if it´sTHAT hard to wield it without proper training.
@@Mouse_Metal We see her train with kanan one or two times, that doesnt mean it wasn't something they likely did more. Also you discount how much of a difference that makes. a jedi will always make a better teacher than the armorer when it comes to LIGHTSABER combat. Even if it may have been executed poorly in the show, the canon explanation for sabine being able to learn to wield it is a valid one. Also, it has to do with the 'weight' of emotions and internal conflict in the user. There was a canon explanation that mando's attachment to grogu and his inner conflict is what made him have trouble with it. And even then, we see him get better with it pretty quickly in the book of boba. Right after he gets grogu back
The Last Airbender has tonal shifts ... You have Airbender genocide next to Sokka getting fish hooks stuck in fingers. Yet it works. What makes that work versus here. Not disagreeing by the way. I also feel Rebels is off balanced. But what’s the difference.
Antoine Bandele i would say that the tonal shifts are not dissonant. when the episode is serious, it is serious, vice versa. even when they mix the themes in each episode. the characters are always still aware of the consequences of their decisions and what mood a scene has. legend of korra does this poorly compared to atla actually.
I think what made the tonal shifts work in ATLA was that they were logical and driven by the differing well-established personalities of the characters involved, whereas in Rebels its much more random and more obviously driven by the whims of the creative team
You know what would've been cool? If Rebels was also an anthology series. Think about it: Stories of ground soldiers fighting a losing battle against the empire. Pilots fighting tiny skirmishes against bigger odds. Watching stories of the empire absolutely crushing rebels left and right, some more morally ambiguous moments. Maybe a few reoccurring characters, but more like the clones characters. Even putting stories of Jedi's running away and hiding only to get hunted and killed. What do you guys think?
Totally agree. The Clone Wars showed us the grand scale a galactic conflict in the Star Wars universe must have, from its core worlds to the remote outer rim. You could be seeing the 501st fighting droids on planetary battles, some times the episodes were set in Coruscant and the political turnmoils of the Senate, and others were about criminals who took no side in the war whatsoever. It taught us how complex and multilayered this universe was. Rebels, on the other hand, just feels small...
It would be cool if Vader was a regular threat to the Jedi characters, the Jedi can't rely on their powers too much to get stuff done because otherwise Vader will figure out where they are. It bothers me in Rebels that the Jedi characters are way too quick to bust out a lightsaber. Honestly I say if this show was done over again, make Kanan the only Jedi character but he's the last resort character. He only comes in and uses his powers when he is absolutely needed. Because honestly, Kanan and Ezra's existence should've led to the Empire carpet bombing Lothal immediately.
The thin lightsabers aren’t the problem. It’s that they’re disproportionately sized. If you want thin blades you need thinner, more narrow hilts. Which means you have to change the sizes of the characters. Vader’s blade didn’t bother me because Vader was thinner in the show than the movies. The blade felt like it matched the thickness of the character. They can’t make Ezra and Kansan an average, normal human size and give them normal sized savers, but make the blades look like toothpicks
9:09 Has anyone talked about how pathetic this part looks, you expect darth’s lightsaber to be intimidating but the way they angle it makes it look like he has a light knife, not a Sabre.
Idk why they made all the lightsabers so small and skinny. The movie sabers are like bodybuilders but then this show's sabers are like the Holocaust survivors
In every appearance he has with his lightsaber, it’s projected out of his silhouette separating the lightsaber from his body. That’s why when people see a lightsaber beaming out they know shit is going down. What you said before, the angle makes it look like a small butter knife from a family guy skit.
Mad Titan Thanos the people knew what they were doing when they made them skinny I saw a video talking about why the lightsabers are skinny and how it makes more scientific sense in the star wars universe
I swear that finale was one of the most idiotic finales I have ever seen in a tv show. Anything would be better than fcking tentacle space whales kidnapping my man Thrawn and pulling him into hyperspace. Who wrote that shit?
It based on original concept for lightsaber. So they kind of want to appreciate people work. Just like Clone Wars their Venator is a little bit different from movie. This is not a issue.
She stayed in hiding until the war was over, then headed to the unknown regions with Sabine to find Ezra. It's completely possible they just haven't come back yet, if ever
SeannyBravo I guess it could be a simple matter that no one knew she was alive so she had no means off of Malachor. Since there was no body I imagine Vader would destroy all the Inquisitors' TIEs to make absolutely sure that she was no longer a threat (I know it's weird that he'd leave if he even suspected she was alive but I imagine since she was in the world between worlds he couldn't sense her at all so he'd assume she was dead) so she had no ship to leave on. Ezra disappears like the next day so it's possible he didn't mention her to anyone (it'd be stupid if he didn't but let's be real a lot of things he does are stupid) so no one would come get her. As to how she got back after ROTJ, it's anyone's guess, her story is far from over, I'm personally hoping she finds a way to contact Rex to let him know where she is, because she's the last friend he has from the old days and it'd be nice to see him happy for once
-Daniel Cibic "Its still Disney they'll fund a way to fuck it up you'll see" as he said the reason the clone wars was good was because they were being faced with cancellation towards the later seasons but rebels has/had a Disney sized budget and is made by the same people. but the clone wars reboot will have the same people and budget sooooooooooo.
Nicolas Mattson while Disney have lots of money for sure, considering how disappointing the results from the Star Wars franchise have been lately, maybe, just maybe... Disney will be more cautious this time around and won't just give them unlimited budget?
I don't really understand the whole kiddie stuff I watched it all recently at the age of 15 and I binged it better than CW I did not really have a problem with anything in the show
I think it’s definitely a downgrade because as Cosmo said it has a lot more colorful shading while rebels is just kinda bland colors but I also noticed that there were always just dots on characters faces and it really annoyed me
I dislike the animation but I believe that nearing that from midway of s3 they tried to mess with the frame rate to make the action scenes look better which was an improvement. And the focus thing which they did when Ezra was fighting the red dudes was pre g. but overall BAD
I just want to say. I remember almost no scenes from rebels other than the fight between Ashoka and Vader and kanan vs the temple guard (inquisitor). But I can remember so so so many other scenes from the clone wars. It had wayyy more depth to it.
CW had so many more amazing moments... Obi-Wan faking his death and Anakin's reaction Ashoka's hunt and trial Pong Krell betraying his troops Palpatine vs Maul/Savage Dooku, Anakin, and Obi escaping capture Griveous and his hillarious interactions with the B1 Battledroids and so on...
Dr. Breen's Private Reserve I would, but I can't remember who that is. They put something in the water to make me forget. I don't even remember how I got here.
"Hellicopter lightsaber wow, this lightsaber spins arooouund and this lightsaber is a gun, BONK BONK BONK, Another stormtrooper costume, IS IT STAR WARS? IS IT STAR WARS YET?"
If Star Wars actually listened to what fandoms wanted, we’d have gotten a whole season filled with only original- and prequel-era shit no one wants to see anymore.
While I don't hate this show as much as you do( that energy is reserved for the last two Spider-man cartoons we got) I feel your pain. I was excited when this show was announced but I kept dropping it and trying to pick it up every time something like Maul or Ashoka happened, I just wanted more Clone Wars not...this
Jslicer13 Yeah the new one and ultimate are a down grade of spectacular. However I would out ultimate above the new current one because at times they do try to make scenes matter.
I didn't really expect anything specifically, I say I dropped it because it just felt off whenever I tried to watch, to the point that I really just didn't want to watch past five minutes of any given episode. With Clone Wars or even other shows I just like what that show does on a whole but I don't want rebels to be the same as Clone Wars, Clone Wars had a certain feeling to it and Rebels doesn't have that
I feel exactly the same way. While Rebels isn't very good, I still think it's fun. But Marvel's Spider-Man is only good for laughing at, and Ultimate Spidey isn't watchable at all.
I prefer Legends. Cody stays with the Empire and is apalled by the horrendous failures of Imperial recruits. Hell Cody in one mission, sacrificed 100 Stormtroopers, just so he could save one of his remaining Clone brethren. When scolded by his superiors, he simply stated the fact that the Empire was simply better off with Clones in their army and went back resuming his role as commander of Imperial forces.
Show Writers: "I've got a great idea for the villain of this kids show. It'll be a psychotic murdering murderer, that's renowned for being ruthless and unstoppable." Producer: "That doesn't sound very good, this is a kids show." Show Writer: "Oh don't worry, he doesn't really hurt anyone, and the main characters beat him like he's a scooby-villain every other episode."
I actually did something like that for a fanfiction I wrote based on one of my favorite movies as a kid. I had a villain that could not be outsmarted and was also an amazing fighter. I even killed a main character from the original kids movie halfway through to raise the stakes and show that this guy cannot be underestimated. He has brilliant plans that truck the heroes into doing what he wants without them knowing
*coughs in original trilogy as I watch the main character beat Vader* I wonder where they got the idea. Maybe it's because that's how Star Wars works? A rag tag group of misfits against impossible odds?
If being a dumb idiot is his best moment, then yeah, i don’t know how anyone can respect his opinions. He just follows public opinion about the media he’s reviewing, for the views. Can’t you see that? Everything he ever reviews is dogshit to him. Except the old stuff! This fucking idiot
The animation in rebels really bothers me. Everyone looks like their made of a soft plush clay or cotton, like maul who had these firm jagged edges to his face and whole body was replace by this oval face with NO marks or depth on him at all..really its a disappointment.
The dialogue animation also sucks. They move their heads SO MUCH while talking. If I moved my head like that on a conversation, I'd look like a fucking weirdo.
Red I know that it was supposed to it tried and failed, if you look at clone wars it looks way more artistic on how each character model was made, if you really focus on any character in cw you'd see that they have this brush strock affect all over their body, like if you look at maul you can see the brush strokes that makes out his tattoos and skin and cloths. In rebels there is no style that's consistant, the character models look like the original concept art could've been taken from anywhere. Also none of the character models have any texture (skin, hair, eyes cloths etc) other then looking like you could squish their face in.
Eh nah no season 6 for clone wars. I think the 12 episodes they’re gonna release to conclude the series should be the end. I just hope the end is as good as the show was
@@optillian4182 they're bringing it back for a season 7 and everyone was blow up that trailer video for season 7 weeks f clone wars, pretty sure everyone wants more
And then they killed Gregor. Now he's not my favorite clone that would be Rex (duh) and Domino Squad along with Clone force 99. But Gregor was fucking amazing cuz he acts like I do in video games I play. And I love it. Fuck you Disney.
i really like the episode when Zeb find other Lasat it give us a little bit of Zeb's backstory. I also think The child, The warrior and The fool was a cool idea
Man those Rebels in all actuality would have been defeated by Thrawn I mean he literally almost defeated the New Republic in his Heir to the Empire book series. Like he almost captured Luke and would have if Luke didn’t pull a move that was extremely unexpected and almost destroyed him and his ship.
Impliying that the original Star Wars doesn't have plot armor. The entire original trilogy dissapears if stormtroopers actually know how to aim and if the Empire destroyed the Escape Pod right at the start of A New Hope but it's convenient for Hero's Journey, "There are droids on board" . This is the biggest sin of Star Wars, Plot Armor is everywhere, even Palpatine in the prequels just has a lot of plot armor to protect him from the Jedi Order.
@@saricubra2867 ok buddy stormtroopers can aim and for one when Luke was escaping Vader Wanted them to escape so he told the stormtroopers to miss intentionally so yea they can aim like look at so right after roughe one they butchered those rebels
And people say Rey's a mary-sue. I say that's bullshit. The sequel trilogy gave character and flaws both to protagonist and antagonist. While Star Wars Rebels makes it too one-dimensional.
Mitchell Benford it’s really sad that the sequels which really aren’t that bad get all this hate and “criticism” (rise of skywalker was pretty bad but force awakens was great and 8 was also pretty solid) but then rebels is praised when it’s worse in nearly every way
Mitchell Benford I think that’s fair tbh I honestly didn’t even hate rise of skywalker I just thought that final battle with Rey and palpatine was awful
“The best way to fix this show is to just make it solely for children. Don’t try to trick nostalgic man children like myself into watching the show”. I 100% agree with this. I almost got tricked into watching this show because people took the 5 best nostalgic scenes like Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul and Ashoka vs. Vader and blew it out of proportion because they left out all of the crappy parts. I knew basically nothing about the show until watching your videos about it and I’m so glad you made these because now I don’t have to waste my time. I remember watching Ashoka vs. Vader and thinking that was epic but then seeing this random kid and I was like who tf is that but now I know lol. Someone even made a video claiming that the final duel between Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul in this show was the best lightsaber fight of all time. I definitely got baited but it is still pretty epic. Like you said, that whole episode should’ve just been those two characters. I feel like whoever made that video was trying to hype up the show by saying that was best lightsaber fight of all time but who knows. Maybe he just liked that one scene and that was it. Anyways this show is definitely one big bait.
@@picksleet9268 Sir, I assure you that I have been here from the beginning. Star Wars has always been aimed at kids my dude. It cracks me up when folks like you get so fired up about pretend. 😂🤡
AHHHH NOOOOO!!! You're so right... Dang. At least we still have 6 and now 7 seasons of clone wars though, with a lot of enjoyable episodes and storylines throughout.
Dude are you talking about the fight with Darth Sidious when he specifically said. I’m not going to kill you, I have other uses for you. Then you know he shocks Maul and he screams bloody murder with a truly dark end to an episode… Then it’s followed by the cheerful credits music lol. I didn’t mind it ending like that because the episodes we got leading up to that were some of the best episodes of Clone Wars. Plus that fight is just killer, my goodness here... ua-cam.com/video/-7hBZNsPnyg/v-deo.html Watch it again it’s freakin awesome:D
I posted this elsewhere, but I'll post it again: Ahsoka should have stayed dead. Her ending with Vader was such a great and touching scene at the end of season 2, but it looks like the writers can't bring themselves to let go of the character. Which is ironic, given the main message of that ep. Look, I don't have any problem with the idea of Ahsoka surviving. If it was done well i'd be ok with it. But i feel like that ep completely undermines the ending of season 2. Whenever i go and rewatch season 2, it isn't going to be emotional at all, knowing that Ahsoka is just going to get pulled into a magic time portal. This just means that there's another Force user running around pre-ANH. Not only that, so Vader just saw someone pull Ahsoka into a portal, and didn't bother to investigate further? Like i alr said, it's super ironic how the message of that ep is that Ezra has to let go of Kanan and accept his death, but the writers cannot leave Ahsoka dead and have to bring her back.
BattleUp Saber I've always been torn about things like this. On one hand I'm happy that she's alive since I love her character, on the other hand she was done developing and her death made sense narrative wise
I feel they did this with geonosis. When I heard they got mass genocided I thought holy shit that's actually pretty dark. Fast forward a season later and there's a survivor with the ex machina to save his species. Now the shock and awe is killed
Oh yea big time. They carried hard. After watching the carry that took place in Rebels, I feel like I have a chance at contributing to a 3v3 Rocket League game.
One thing that really bugged me about the action scenes with Ezra and Kanan is that they would never actually slice the stormtroopers, because I guess that is to "violent". Yet they can deflect lasers back at them and shoot them. Just me?
The only things about rebels i actually care about :Thrawn, Ashoka, Maul. Also how the fuck does spinning a double sided lightsaber fast make you fucking fly?!
Emo Otaku Asoka, Rex, Vader and Thrawn I ever cared about. Kanan and Hero together was alright but everyone else didn't care for, well maybe the cynical android.
VocalCalibration at least Tails have fur on his tails so he can create friction to eject air and fly like a helicopter while these light sabers spinning can’t eject air cause they’re made of laser or plasma which have very low weight results in low to none friction.
@@eebrohim7001 The "grey tiny goblin" was one of the scariest motherfuckers in the old EU with a complex backstory who was ACTUALLY THREATENING. Then they ruined him and made him into... that.
darthrex354 not only that but they’re culture revolves around worshiping DARTH VADER and they looked not like grey people with pimples on their foreheads but like dinosaurs crossed with SKELETONS.
Finished the rebels just now and felt something was off, this video perfectly summed it up. I wouldn't say it's shit, but it's definitely nothing special. Its kind of like those filler episodes you get in anime where you put it on in the background and just wait for it to be over, but in this case, it spanned 75 episodes.
@@ncberg05 I mean, I feel like the death of 99 was forced. If he stayed in cover and listened he would have been fine but he died for nothing. I wish his death had more meaning but it didn't for me so I wasn't really moved by it. Satine though... That shit was so sad, definitely when you look in Obi-wan's eyes and see how he starts tearing up
They added a more childish style so that small children can see their expressions and reactions. Clone Wars did it slightly, but that's typical of animation
Why would they do that? it’s the reason they cancelled CW in the first place, Disney didn’t like it was becoming darker and more mature and not frootloops colorful kiddie shit
The worst part is the fact that Clone Wars died for this. Edit: I knew that Clone wars was coming back, but if it wasn’t the very vocal community, it would have come back. Disney didn’t car about, they didn’t want it back. Also S7 is amazing.
HOW TO MAKE THIS SHOW BETTER •Clone wars animation style •Kill more people •Remove lightsaber helicopters (seriously those things are ridiculous) •Show that the empire is somewhat threatening •Have Thrawn do something useful •Where tf is Vader in seasons 3&4
Remember when Maul beheaded children then Savage imailed Adi Gallia with his horns then beheaded Pre Vizla and then impaled Satine in front of Obi-Wan? Man, that show got dark.
The fact that I saw my brother watching parts of the finale and legitimately thought they were just random episodes says a lot about this show’s lack of actual tension
One thing I liked was how they attributed the music to certain things, like when they’re being chased by buzz droids or something like that and Rex goes absolute sicko mode on them and a version of the song “The Clones” for a moment the big part of the song plays really bringing back some of the old nostalgia of the Clone Wars
David Silva I mean Vader thinks that he killed ahsoka right? If I recall correctly he doesn’t see her being saved by Ezra so he must think that he killed her and that’s why he never bothered to keep looking for her
I actually disagree with you that Ahsoka living ruins Luke being the last jedi. Even back in Legends canon, there was always other jedi that survived Order 66, but Luke was the only one that was able to truly destroy Vader, by saving Anakin. Not even Ahsoka could do that.
Yeah them being alive doesn't ruin it for me as well. Not really sure why it would for anybody, or that he said they were more powerful than luke. Ahsoka is very powerful but Luke has infinite more potential than her. After all, Obi Wan and Yoda lived through nearly the whole galactic civil war and never tried to challenge vader/palp till Luke came along
The amount of old jedi that survived order 66 and the empire is absolutely fucking ridiculous in the old canon. Its one of the really bad parts of the old Canon. It really does destroy Luke. Hell the whole we will make Luke this overpowered godlike character was shitty aswell. Most of legends that goes past Ep6 was really whacky and inconsistent and i am happy with it getting scrapped.
@@mcstotti8691 Yeah because Disney NEVER went over the top and wacky. (-_-) Seriously, both are guilt of that crap. Also, at least Luke built his power over the years than in just a few days. And as for the Jedi part, I still stand by what I said. The Jedi that survived was still small and it is a big galaxy. Even then, they were too afraid to fight Vader due to that lie the Emperor spread on how Vader killed 50 Jedi on his own. Plus as I said, Luke was still the only one that could save Anakin. Screw Disney Canon!
@@joegreen3802 I never liked either versions of the post-episode 6 galaxy (I thought legacy was fun tho) but at least the expanded universe allowed Luke and his friends to grow and change. The new canon just had them fail and repeat the mistakes of their predecessors, making them complete failures and their actions pretty much useless in the grand scheme. Also, I don't remember the expanded universe having time travel to save beloved characters from crap writing like this show so yeah, screw the new canon!
Rebels would have been a lot better if Ahsoka remained their leader for all seasons and was one of the main characters. Ironically some of the best things about Rebels was the Clone Wars characters, yet Maul did not get nearly enough screen time, and Ahsoka just appeared in six episodes or so as a side character (despite being the literal leader of Bail Organa's resistance movement) without the ebullience or optimism that defined her in Clone Wars and just kind of disappeared. Captain Rex should have also played a more prominent role. He just kind of appeared out of nowhere (if Ahsoka knew where he was living out his retirement, why didn't she or her other rebel friends just recruit him) and only appeared as a side character in a handful of episodes, even though his few appearances were totally awesome. He was a very humorous and spirited character who cracked jokes and didn't hesitate to embark on dangerous missions. Should have seen a lot more of him! The show did Hondo justice however - he was probably the funniest character of all and I loved every episode he appeared in.
Pretty sure they took out Ahsoka because they didn't want her carrying the show, they needed Ahsoka to hook the audience then toss her out so Ezra and his team could eventually carry.
You know, he might not be dead, as Ezra was also warped, and well obviously he isn’t dead. And with the First Order being founded largely by former Imperial officers and aristocracy, maybe Thrawn returns in 9, as a secondary villain?
When you blame Disney and realise Dave Filoni made most of this shit and people complain about Ezra coincidentally being found and so powerful completely forget that he would of been found for being force sensitive and not randomly by Kanan if the empire didn’t take over since he was born when it got established in a middle time
The time travel crap pissed me off because it was a cop out to bring Ahsoka back. Her death in season 2 was a perfect end to her character arc that began in Clone Wars. I agree with everything you said though (except the comparison to Phantom Menace) . Kinda makes me question if Dave Filoni really is a creative genius without Lucas to supervise him...
lol she never died it was just made to look like that even without the time ep i know Ahsoka didn't die then , Ankin and Ahsoka are linked to their deaths meaning they die at same time they are blood brother and sister (The Ones) from Clone Wars.
@@Revilod No, but she only survived because Ezra pulled her out through the time travel portal. I don't like this at all. Also, the terrible sequel trilogy might use this as their final resort in Episode 9. Bleh :(
And the world between worlds, more Thrawn, the entire plotline with Kallus, pretty much everything will Maul. The interactions between Ezra and the Emporer, Kanan, Kanan and Herra's relationship, the vast amounts of lore and character development, several duels, Ahsoka, The clones, Loth Wolfs were sick af, Inquisitor action, Vader, Hondo, several planets, a plethora of cool space battles, Kanan's lightsaber hilt is absolute fire, some of the music from time to time, etc. But of course your small "I haven't actually watched rebels" energy radiating brain can only go "bad animation, me no likey stick sabers, helicopter saber brrrr dumb, character look annoying, ooga booga" and so on.
@@maultron2051 I somehow highly doubt you actually watched it if you'd place it at "the worst show you've seen in your life", unless you just don't ever watch TV like literally ever.

I wish instead of the whales coming out, I wish the remainder of the CIS fleet attacked the empire. (Reason why, is an Droid general survived in season 3)
Brilliant. One of the best things to come out of the entire Star Wars franchise. I LOVE the mini-series usage of sound, efficient dialog, sense of pacing, visual flare, and small touches - I love how the clone troopers are almost hilariously stoic and we are never shown their faces to imply a disconnected humanity about them, which is a good payoff for those who prefer the Clones to have turned against the Jedi out of conditioning and choosing to side with the government over the Jedi.
I agree 100% about Lothal. I didn't care about it even the slightest bit. There was nothing visually appealing about it and I didn't care about anyone on it. Like geez, you'd think after tattoine and jakku we would be done with barren planets that have nothing appealing about them
It’s a such an ugly boring planet with boring people. Even the wild life is boring. “Oh yeah, here’s a Loth-cat and a Loth-Wolf. Get it? They’re like wolves and cats from Earth, but on Lothal.” Idk why they couldn’t make this stupid planet more interesting. At least Tatooine has cool aliens and a multi-system wide crime family
And literally the whole point of Tatooine and Jakku in the movies is that they’re depressing, desolate planets that the characters either can’t wait to get off of or have some impactful reason to feel like they need to stay in spite of their miserable lifestyle there. Literally the opposite of what they should have been trying to accomplish with Lothal but
@@akorn9943 It probably would’ve worked better if they made the planet beautiful like Naboo. I would hate if anything happened to Naboo but I don’t give a crap about Lothal
I think that's a very fair statement. Hopefully, the team that worked on Rebels learnt from their mistakes so they can produce a better product in the future.
well, it doesnt have to be for you, its not like Ezra is gonna show up and start dry humping rey just cuz he "technically exists in the same universe" i mean its interesting to see how they will use darth maul in the kenobi series now that the maul and kenobi arc was ended in some garbage episode in a kiddie show, cuz he has been teased in the end of Solo and their is no way they can not have him as a main antagonist in some form during the kenobi move
It shouldn't tbh. And here's why. If you have large enough fan base ,which Star Wars has more than enough, some fan-made things are bound to be better than the official stuff. That doesn't prove anythng about the quality of the official product.
It’s easier to see something and say how it can be improved than make something from scratch. I’m not saying all writers are great but writing something new is harder than improving something
@@XDogeGamingX I am going too stop you right there, character development was not only superior in everyway, but we actually gave a shit to what happened to the main group, we know the empire is defeated but we don't actually knows what happends to the jedi, we fight with villains that we can actually simpatise, in rebels we have a funny skinny and fat looking dude as main villains that were designed in their core to be embarrasments, in the fallen order we actually can simpatise with the stormtroopers that were normal people and would comment on how fucked up their situation was or begging mercy, i could go on and on, Rebels Just like the resistance were trash because of Disney
@@fogareuaquelecaradaportari3386 Ah yes, the skinny and fat dudes, Kallus, Grand Inquisitor, The Inquisitors in S2, Vader, Maul, and Thrawn. They're all either so skinny or so fat. I highly doubt you've watched enough of Rebels to think that the skinny and fat Imperial dudes (if that's what you're even talking about) that worked at a children's academy were the villains of all 4 seasons. That's honestly embarrassing to think that. I cared a lot more about what happened to the crew in Rebels than I did the crew in Fallen Order. The Crew in Fallen Order is literal garbage IMO compared to the Ghost Crew. And they're just different types of villains. The development of characters was also 30x better. Please don't try to convince me that Cal grew more over a 15 hour story than Ezra did over 75 episodes, or even Kanan for that manner, because it's a waste of time. I loved both FO and Rebels but I'd much rather watch Rebels any day of the week
@@XDogeGamingX he probably forgot the names of the characters because of how bad those inquisitors. The inquisitors in Fallen Order can actually do their job, unlike the three inquisitors in season 2 who can’t even kill a padawan but claim to kill other Jedi Knights.

The Grand Inquisitor, Vader, and Thrawn were all fantastic and done very well. I think they all complemented the main crew as well

Is really depressing.
zillafire101 Oh snap they really fucked him up.
Right though? I wish they hadn't touched the EU characters at all. Just leave the separate canon alone instead of bringing things back just to ruin it and appeal with shallow fan service.
zachanikwano Anytime they bring up EU content it fails at times or didn't developed as much. Like how they mentioned the old republic once.
zachanikwano I’m starting to agree with this statement more.

Dude I made this comment
Yess, man I hate Sabine, rebels is basically this the "force of the friendship " that saves all and everybody 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They kill her entire family anyways.
Right after he gets grogu back
“It’s a grey ninja... and this governor... lady.” Great way to describe these villains😂

The Last Airbender has tonal shifts ... You have Airbender genocide next to Sokka getting fish hooks stuck in fingers. Yet it works. What makes that work versus here. Not disagreeing by the way. I also feel Rebels is off balanced. But what’s the difference.
Funny
This is the same question I asked myself for year's
Antoine Bandele yeah.
I think what made the tonal shifts work in ATLA was that they were logical and driven by the differing well-established personalities of the characters involved, whereas in Rebels its much more random and more obviously driven by the whims of the creative team
oraha
lok comes of as a little more childish then atla, even though it's creators said they wanted to make a more ,,mature" storyline and characters
Stop having good ideas!
Zangster
That sound.... pretty cool!
Nathan-DTS. The Rebel Alliance didnt exist yes, but there were many independent rebel groups fighting the Empire.
Agreed. It looked pretty strange seeing the thin blade coming out of the wide blade emitter of Obi-wan's lightsaber hilt.
9:09 Has anyone talked about how pathetic this part looks, you expect darth’s lightsaber to be intimidating but the way they angle it makes it look like he has a light knife, not a Sabre.
light noodle
Carnage yeah but that's not how they look in the movies so why retcon it for some bad kids show that no one will watch
Rebels: OMG SOMEONE DIED LETS MAKE AN ENTIRE EPISODE ABOUT HOW GOOD THEY WERE!

YoshiPlaysMC my prediction was Ezra dies and no one goes to find her because he didn't tell anyone
She stayed in hiding until the war was over, then headed to the unknown regions with Sabine to find Ezra. It's completely possible they just haven't come back yet, if ever
Joshua D But why was she in hiding until the war was over? That's what I want to know. Why not come back sooner and help everyone?

Jslicer13 maul episodes were absolutely boring, I still think he should of died in TCW. They've stretched him out too far.
I thought this show would give Captain Rex a chance to see Commander Cody, however, that great opportunity was squandered for space whales.
I didn't mind the space whales, but not seeing Commander Cody, and possibly having him fight Rex, was missed potential.
I'm not entirely sure but I think there's a comic that says cody died before the events of this show.
How could you think that? Judging from Rex, Cody would be way too old to serve in the Empire at this time

Producer: "That doesn't sound very good, this is a kids show."
Show Writer: "Oh don't worry, he doesn't really hurt anyone, and the main characters beat him like he's a scooby-villain every other episode."

The animation in rebels really bothers me. Everyone looks like their made of a soft plush clay or cotton, like maul who had these firm jagged edges to his face and whole body was replace by this oval face with NO marks or depth on him at all..really its a disappointment.
The fingers are another thing that bothers me, all lady hands.
“It’s suppose to look like that because it pays homage/tribute to old artwork”
It was an excuse for the lower budget really. Clone Wars was Lucas’s pet project and he poured tons of money into it.
Rebels: 4 seasons (no one wants a season 5)
Clone Wars: 6 Seasons (everyone wants more)
Verdict: Clone Wars
Honestly it would've been dumb for Disney to do a fifth season of REBELS glad that it didn't happen.
Packers Nation should’ve stopped rebels at season 1 tbh
Eh nah no season 6 for clone wars. I think the 12 episodes they’re gonna release to conclude the series should be the end. I just hope the end is as good as the show was

Worth a mention that Thrawne only lost due to plot armour and his subordinates disobeying him.
And not being prepared for a giant fungus moose that could become a storm and space whales, the only contingencies he was not prepared for.
Thrawn lost because of poor writing :(
Man those Rebels in all actuality would have been defeated by Thrawn I mean he literally almost defeated the New Republic in his Heir to the Empire book series.

Though I'd like to add that Ahsoka should have died there.
I posted this elsewhere, but I'll post it again:
Ahsoka should have stayed dead.
BattleUp Saber honestly though. It was such a cop out to bring her back. Just feels like blatant fan service

@@joegreen3802 I never liked either versions of the post-episode 6 galaxy (I thought legacy was fun tho) but at least the expanded universe allowed Luke and his friends to grow and change. Also, I don't remember the expanded universe having time travel to save beloved characters from crap writing like this show so yeah, screw the new canon!
Ashoka forsake her Jedi status and chose to only be a badass force user. Thus opening the title for Luke to take.

Rebels is a decent kids show at best. Clone Wars is an awesome anthology series with deep themes and awesome characters!
I think that's a very fair statement. Hopefully, the team that worked on Rebels learnt from their mistakes so they can produce a better product in the future.
SassyAssAhsoka tbh i don't think kid would like this show either i bet they rathet watch the clone wars
Well, you're not part of the younger audience. So I think it's fair to say you can't speak for them.
The worst part about this show is that its canon
well, it doesnt have to be for you, its not like Ezra is gonna show up and start dry humping rey just cuz he "technically exists in the same universe" i mean its interesting to see how they will use darth maul in the kenobi series now that the maul and kenobi arc was ended in some garbage episode in a kiddie show, cuz he has been teased in the end of Solo and their is no way they can not have him as a main antagonist in some form during the kenobi move
@@madaboutit2306 yea but thrawn is in this show
It hurts just thinking about it 😖
@@skelling5991 and he can't beat a bunch of idiots
@@madaboutit2306 Well seeing as Kanan and Ahsoka's voices appeared in Rise of Skywalker, its a bit hard to ignore its canonical status.
The only thing in the show that I could actually see making the audience have an interest in it is probably Maul and Ahsoka
True
Yup
im glad im not alone on the whole lightsaber thing cause the thin lightsabers make me really uncomfortable
Yeah I hate the thin lightsaber
Season 7 of the Clone Wars is coming... Disney has officially announced it at comicon or something yesterday and there's an official trailer too
Yep and you'll have to hate it because all disney star wars is shit regardless of quality apparently
@@KevinReijnders93 nah be careful they could still disneyfy it with some sjw feminism bullshit.
It amazes me how simple people on UA-cam know how to do a better direction for a show than billion dollar companies.
It shouldn't tbh. And here's why.
If you have large enough fan base ,which Star Wars has more than enough, some fan-made things are bound to be better than the official stuff. That doesn't prove anythng about the quality of the official product.
Buddy you’re on a platform where people fucking talk.
It’s easier to see something and say how it can be improved than make something from scratch. I’m not saying all writers are great but writing something new is harder than improving something
Ikr, I’ve met a dozen Star Wars fans that have come up with better series and movie plots than what Disney has actually given us.
Money doesn't always mean creativity.
If someone wants a good story in this area between episodes 3 and 4 they should just play fallen order.
Rebels is far superior to fallen order
@@raafeyplayz7015 he wasn’t talking about the inquisitor, none of the inquisitors were fat. One of them was also female so not a dude. The season 2 inquisitors are shitty yeah, but inquisitors are pretty shitty overall and they’re only actually defeated by Ahsoka and Maul. They were not the main villains of the series. The Grand Inquisitor, Vader, and Thrawn were all fantastic and done very well. I think they all complemented the main crew as well
