This man has ZERO arrogance about himself. One of the many reasons he is my idol.
Same. It's also why he's been successful with his business and been able to make good money post bodybuilding
Exactly I love jay cutler his battles with Ronnie Coleman and his mindset. Zero arrogance didn’t think he was better than anyone else like rich piana rip. When you have a rival to push you there’s no limit how big you can get both physically and in life. I am going to be like jay cutler and my rival like Ronnie Coleman one day you have to lose before you can win it makes it that more meaningful. Yeah finishing 8-0 or winning 6 Olympias in a row would be awesome but overall overcoming adversity and winning after losing means more which is why I probably will be like jay. Winning 4 Olympias overall will be more meaningful because I defeat a legendary bodybuilder like Ronnie Coleman at his peak means more than winning 6 in a row like Dorian Yates.
Stop idolizing other men
@@maximusprimus827 Make me
Idolatry is sin
"My mom helped me a lot. She helped me buy chicken." That's what's up
😂😂😂
Jay never sugarcoats it. Always giving credit where its due
I love my mom she’s always there for me regardless.❤
Jay is the epitome of 'Don't talk about it, *be* about it'.
Nah that's ronnie
Dorian Yates.
Finally a video without that f*cking dramatic too loud ''motivation'' music in the backround. This is real.
Ikr,that's annoying. The true motivation comes from listening to his story and the work he put in,not the dramatic music.
"I benched 315 in high school and didn't even lift weights" Genetics of fucking peace right there
Of course, but make no mistake working concrete and on a farm. He is lifting way before he lifted at a gym.
@@danesessethank you lol
His speech just flows and you just get compelled to listen to the whole thing. This man has some charisma.
It's a subtle charisma. He's not Rick Flair, but he talks and we're all listening.
Bob Jenkins Gofrphi
Yeah I met him earlier this year and right off the back he made you feel welcoming. He didn’t act like he was tired of talking to his fans.
Dude you have a point.
Meh idk about charisma but he’s a legend no doubt
If it wasn't for Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler would be like a 10 time Mr O now. Or maybe he wouldn't train as hard since it was Ronnie who pushed him to bring the best package every year
well thats what a motivation is after all.
Jay should have had 5, he always looked better than ronnie imo
@steroidsR4losers if winning Mr.O is as simple as taking steroids, can you go and do it for us then I wont laugh at everything you say since its so pathetic.
@steroidsR4losers No one is disputing steroids doesn't enable bigger growth than natural limitation. But that doesn't mean it doesn't take dedication and insane dieting ONTOP of steroids to get there. At the end of the day, you've achieved fuck all and is an irrelevant nobody cluelessly preaching in the comment section. Take a fucking seat idiot.
@steroidsR4losers 😂😂😂😂😂😂 this touched me on so many levels 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Most humble bodybuilder ever, love his calm and grateful approach
check out dorian yates on the joe rogan podcast. most of the olympia winners seem to have the quirks.
From yates to cutler they all seemed pretty chilled dudes
He mentored Phil Heath, encouraged him, supported him even when they were competing against each other for the Olympia and was the first to congratulate him when Phil finally beat him. Jay has helped shitloads of guys and having met him on 3 separate occasions and talked more than what would be considered "polite" with him, I can say he is genuinely a good dude. He can come off as arrogant I guess because he has a pretty mellow, dead pan personality and is pretty blunt, he doesn't do all the fake stoked to see you bullshit some of the other guys do
Very humble. I really respect him and ur story will inspire a lot.. go hard never back down no matter what..
@BalticFin are you humble?
"My mom helped me alot, she helped me buy chicken breast" ❤
Also mom helped out with some titie milk...
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't get it he said that he got his chicken and everything from the commissary but in his older video he talked about how he grew up on a farm so he always had fresh protein and that's why he was successful. 🤔
Funny, your mom helped me with the same thing. Heyooo! :)
Neet: Mom, wheres the tendies?
Jay: thanks for buying plain chicken breasts mom :)
Jay has a golden personality. He’s not arrogant or cocky or cheesey. He’s really honest and very down to earth.
Jay Cutler is so mellow and laidback...seems to be a genuine athlete...BEST ADVICE that everyone needs to listen to, that Jay said NUTRITION IS KEY TO STRENGTH AND SIZE from WHOLE FOODS ..plus recovery..BEST interview I have seen in along time...
So you don't like roids? That's fine, but why be a homophobe about it?
but then wats wrong about gay 4 pay ???
steroids*
Reality Programmer good point....tip or whatever
Crazy...this whole time I thought it was the drugs
My favorite bodybuilder. His work mentality is *superb* .
Baldons worship a steroid cheat. Worship a real athlete
@@killap3nguin or don't worship no other man there's that.
@@killap3nguin steroids in bodybuilding is not cheating. Unless you're perpetrating in natural bodybuilding.
I dont even lift weights but I like these bodybuilder videos for some reason.
Jay was the most impressive Mr O I have ever seen. Especially when he came in right. The mass, the cut and the symmetry. He had the trifecta.
You couldn't be more rite
Those feathered quads even blew Ronnie's mind
Man, I appreciate the fuck outta Jay. He's straightforward and doesn't fear sounding pompous. He literally just speaks facts and you gotta respect an athlete that can be so transparent.
Country kid from a military family and brought up with values of hard work and moral backbone - even without the titles it's an instant thumbs up.
23:45 "it took a toll on his body, he had a few injuries since then"
understatement of the century.
@steroidsR4losers stfu you fat fuck
This is the man who got me into bodybuilding. Jay, you are one of my idols, thanks for the inspiration.
Always saw Jay as the "Enemy of Coleman" during all those O's...at least in my young high school eyes. However...over the years, he's been nothing but a class act and a huge role model to me. Humble, never complained, showed up year after year. You don't recognize it immediately...work ethic defines itself by showing up and working hard year after year. I feel privileged growing up with a guy like Jay.
I met him once at the Gold's Gym in Venice back in 2010 and he was very nice. He was in an intense training session and I interrupted him by telling him how much of a big fan I was. He was exhausted and out of breath but he still shook my hand and told me it was nice meeting me. He was super cool. Other celebrities would have been douchebags but this man is a class act.
Don't interrupt professional athletes in their work man. What a poor sense of judgement
Jay is very articulate in this interview it kinda blows me away how quick he answers
He’s looking healthy after all those years of beating up his body.
He was always very strategic in his training
Probably his diet. He eats fairly well. He also didn't push the envelope in terms of the amount of weight he lifted, unlike Ronnie Coleman.
@@Protein33 that's not how it works
@@arronbatchvarov5035 that is exactly how it works I have done my homework not just saying it out my ass.
@@@Protein33 yeah i think you need to go back and do more homework, thats not how the science and biology behind it actually works buddy, your words 'fake water muscles' and 'shrink in less than a week' kinda give it away
Always liked and respected Jay, he could be a cocky bastard with his accomplishments but he's a chill dude, calm and collected.
Mark Bell is one of the only people in the industry who actually deserves to interview Jay Cutler ! Im 2 years late but thank you for this
Literally every bodybuilder interview I have watched..
Bodybuilder: I started off making money by being a security guard.
He's a great speaker and I'm sure that's going to give him continued success in his post-bodybuilding career as an endorser/spokesman.
Jay was amazing, gotta respect the one and only bodybuilder that regaine his Mr Olympia title and one of the few that defeated top shape Ronnie Coleman
igor4246 it’s because he is still on a lot of steroids
Jay Cutler himself said he didn’t beat Ronnie Coleman in his prime.
Arnold and Franco both regained Olympia titles.
Matthew D those were both fixed lmao
19:02 His chest tries to get a word in.
Lol
lol as fuck
I could watch Jay Cutler interviews all day. His perspective seems genuine he’s knowledgeable about the competition and business side of the sport.
Jay Cutler the most inspiring bodybuilder.
The first pro bodybuilder I ever met. Really nice guy, didn't give negative vibes and waited till the line was done.
Great series, Mark. Jay has always been one of my favorites. He's so humble, gracious, and respectful. Love hearing his stories from the 90's and early 2000's era of bodybuilding.
I dropped weights by jays foot in 2009 at the golds on flamingo and sandhill, I almost took his out his ankle but he was super cool about it. You can read about this in the June 2009 flex magazine, pretty funny story.
LOL really? did you drop a plate or a dumbbell?
Lol 2 45 pound plates, I see sawed the barbell
steroidsR4losers try steroids and you will see nothing magical happens fuck face
+Tanner Henrie This guy +steroidsR4losers is just mad cause he's been molested by his father since he was 3.
Tanner Henrie jesus, I remember that story
Prolly the best interview with Jay iv seen. Heard things iv never heard him say before. Very cool
yeah in the older interviews he seemed depressed good to see him happier
Aaron Carpenter probably
Anywhere I Go thanxs
i remember working out at golds in worcester back in 1993, and seeing this teenager with super-wide shoulders and great lines doing shrugs on one of the flat bench machines. i was in my mid thirties at the time and when i saw this kid with arms 4 inches bigger than mine and structure that made me look like a walking pencil, man i was ready to give up. ....even his tan was super and a cute blond girl was helping him change the weights!
Working hard whole life and staying humble is what jay cutler is all about
When I discovered bodybuilding, it was Ronnie and Jay. I eventually competed at local shows...weight lifting has been a big part of my life. Following Jay throughout his career will always been good memories. Had plenty of posters on my wall of this guy.
Its impressive the amount of sacrifice these bodybuilders have to put in, huge respect.
Thanks for this
Jay always seems so nice and polite, Ronnie too. Those are the real traits of a champion. I'd love to meet him someday
I met Jay in Melbourne Australia during the Arnold and he was so cool. We were getting a workout in at Dohertys and he came through saying hello to everyone. I’ll never forget how down to earth he was and still is to this day.
Grew up a few towns over from Sterling Mass. I Also worked concrete floors. Wow, this man accomplished so much.
Man Ronnie and Jay Cutler is what got me into fitness and body building back when I was 18! Thank you for this video it was awesome!
Listen to what he said kids. He sat, he watched, he learned. Learn from those that came before you, just because you look at UA-cam videos doesn't mean you have a clue as to what your doing get in the gym with people who have been doing it along time. Just because you have a fitness Instagram account doesn't mean your an expert, stay humble and be a student of the game that's the way it worked for everyone that came before you that's the only way it will work for you.
Exactly.
I see young guys all the time doing the most wasteful dumb shit and god forbid you try to steer them right they claim "So and so UA-cam video said this was good".
Amen.
I’m supposed to listen to my local gym rat who’s been on the same busted program/diet since the 80s instead someone like Smelly just because he’s on UA-cam?
+Seven fair point some UA-cam channels are GOLDMINES and offer more quality content than any personal trainer could ever give you, the only problem is that the fitness community is EXTREMELY oversaturated, and it can be hard sorting through all the nonsense
I’d like to translate to the young bucks what this dude is trying to say without pushing anyone’s back against the wall... You can have all the information and knowledge. You can even learn about programming in a weekend binge watching powerlifting informative videos on UA-cam. What you lack is the training hours. The hundreds and thousands of hours perfecting a bench, squat, deadlift, etc technique. Technique takes time to learn
Jay is one of the greatest of all times ! Really enjoys his fans and the sport . Another great video . Thx .
I’m not a body builder and somehow ran into this video, glad I did - man Jay is a great orator/story teller -knows how to draw people to listen - I’m a fan. I remember Ronnie Coleman and Kevin Levrone from my era..opening up FLEX..memories.
This guy is a lot more humble than ever thought.
It's great to see with how much respect and admiration he talks about Ronnie Coleman.
Thank you for doing this jake!!
Really appreciate your tips!!
And your time to share it with the world!!
Long live the jake !!
Long live the jake !!!
This is insanely inspirational. Props to Jay-a true champ.
The concrete work is one of the best things you can expose a child to.
This is one of the best interviews I have seen with Jay. Great job!
so much respect for this guy. Really love the work ethic and honesty.
Legends King Jay Cutler . Lots of respect n love for Him . From India always
arguably the most humble guy in bodybuilding if not the best. thank you for this love from Philippines
Bicep looking like a hamstring 😮
Synthol
@@ceroandone yet the second he moves its striated haha
That's the one he tore.
Favourite Bber of all time next to Dorian!
“I benched 350 in high school and didn’t know how to lift weights”
That’s a real thing
He has the heart of a champion. I am truly genetically gifted, longest stretch I worked out was 4 months, 6 days a week, and gained a solid 25 lbs, I am 42 now. But this guy. dedicated is not the word, he tested his limits tweaking everything he humanly could.
Jay’s traps look like someone’s hung him up on a coat rack!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Dude. Jay's traps do hack squats. How do u think they got so huge. Not curls, yo!
Then the coat rack broke and fell...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This man is the epitome of strength. What he said he was lifting (315lbs) in high school isn't impressive, it's scary. Definitely chose the right path.
He approaches his craft like a meticulous scientist, breaking down every little piece.
How we not gonna talk about how this guy is literally real life All Might from my hero?
4:10 "I watched how everybody did most of the lifts wrong. Cuz that's how everyone trains at most gyms." ABSOLUTELY !!!
We did have the Pudzainowski and Savickas 1 2 in World Strongest man. In their prime everyone knew they would be either first place or second place.
5 minutes left in this video and I'm satisfied with the content. Its badass to hear great folks share their stories.
Jay will always be my favorite all around bodybuilder. Going through middle and high school watching him and Ronnie go at it is embedded in my brain. Watching their training videos pumped me up so much. It doesn’t seem to be the same in bodybuilding anymore, but I could be biased.
what an amazing story----talk about hard work and sacrifice---wow, Cutler gives me fuel
Jay Cutler is an inspiration. He is a humble human being. We can learn a lot from his down to earth nature.
that iconic black & white Muscular Development cover photo of Jay (facing front with open arms and flexing his absurd quad) is still, In My Opinion, the most complete, insane human physique ever created to date
so awesome, thanks for this
I love all these comments pushes me further to lift the bar every day.
I met him last month. He gave me some of the best life advice I've ever received.
What did he say?
keep it to yourself why don't you
This was great. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed this interview.
Jay Cutler was one of the first pro bodybuilders back when UA-cam first came out to record his day to day life and training and upload it on UA-cam. Nowadays we call that vlogs... Jay Cutler paved the way for so many fitness UA-camrs
This is SO inspiring. Thank you.
GOOD INTERVIEW , THANKS JAY FOR SHARING THE DETAILS OF THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR JOURNEY TO THE TOP !!
Great interview
Fantastic interview. Cutler could be a news host he's so eloquent and articulate.
A truly great educator and intelligent man with the best training videos online
Great video. Always great to hear the human side of things and what people go through while climbing the ranks.
Jay I lived that life, I lived on a farm and worked for my father’s company couldn’t do anything but work . Guy you did great, great job
Thanks Mark !
That raw fanaticism. Man, I remember just pushing the limits with the boys. Lifting, martial arts, and partying, hours and hours. Definitely overtraining, but to taste that obsession, and not be broken from it, good times.
Jay got me into bodybuilding. Some girl I knew posted a pic of him on Facebook from an expo, and thought that's insane someone can look like that. Probably would of never learned about training and nutrition if it wasn't for him.
youre the man mr jay cutler thanks for uploading this video from iran
Big fan of Jay, such a chilled guy.
Best Cutler interview ever!
Great interview, well done, thanks jay
Awesome content. Thanks guys!
Great vid
Great interview!! Show both sides of success!! Great Jay Cutler! Sympathetic
Businessman - Role Model!
Most humble bodybuilder
Jay were on of the best and he knows it. He is proud of it i can tell, and he should be absolutely! Great storyteller
I could listen to Jay all day. Such a cool honest guy. No BS, just the truth.
awesome content. thanks Jay.💪
Excellent and inspirational. Thank you!
I met Jay back in 2009 and he's one cool dude! Very down to earth.
So good, watching it again...
Great interview! Jay is one of the greatest
