I really appreciate that people like Jeff Bridges and Gary Ho are stepping up to the task of making new film cameras from scratch. I feel like if anyone would've made the move to save pack film it definitely would've been Heath Ledger since he shot so much Polaroid from a young age.
Thanks for your thoughts Ben! I always joke to my friend of how good a salesman you are but truly you’ve helped me enjoy this little passion of mine even more and managed to spread it to other people with your fun videos and everything else you do
100% agree with your take on instagram and the other apps, it’s refreshing to here that I’m not the only one who doesn’t want to create just for other photographers.
#1) Of the domestic locations to have an SX-70 converted to 600 (or even to I-Type), do you recommend one in particular? #2) I have been shooting with a NONS 660 for almost a year, and I gotta tell ya... I LOVE it! It has given me something that neither Polaroid nor Fujifilm has been able to give me: lens selectivity. Also, the Instax Square size is great, and the color process is much better and more consistent than Polaroid. And given the speed of the film, I can still use my iris-adjustable FD lenses with an adapter. Why am I mentioning this? Because I first saw the camera on your channel. So THANK YOU!
600 film conversions are where it's at! Especially with things like the SX-70R PCB upgrade being available now It's often cheaper in store, 4x better in low light, produces sharper photos in the sun and is far easier to find But best of all it allows for the further adaption to I-type film when you run the camera off of external batteries There is basically no disadvantage
I dug out my Toyo View camera and put the Lomograflok to it. It' been years since I used it and it just worked again. This is the closest I would think anyone would have a "pro" system to use with Instax. Just another option.
@@AnchorTH because they are too expensive. A niche product from a small company doesn't have the resources. Fuji can make something with sub $500 with some comprises.
My dad gave me his old Polaroid 210 and it’s unfortunately been a really cool looking display piece I would love to be able to shoot with it at least a little someday! 😭
600 and SX-70 film is 99% the same anyway (SX-70 just has a built in ND layer) so send those SX-70's to your favorite shop, get it refurbed and upgraded...it's the best thing I've done for my Instant film workflow since buying my first SX-70 Sonar in 2007
Ok. So it is really that much different to print using standard Instax square (or any size) film and using the black and white filter on a printer compared to the monochrome film which easily costs $0.50 more, $15 for a 10 pack compared to around $10 for the standard color film?
@@wesleyarnold6326 I agree, the film quality went drastically down once it neared the expiration date. Imo there is no other format that could replace it, the length to width ratio was something very unique and the cameras were also super fun to shoot with (provided that the film didn't get stuck between the rollers)
Crazy fact from my trusted sources, due to a "technical limitation" there will be no Black and White Go film. :( They really want to make it, but for reasons not disclosed to me, it's just not "that simple". Getting color working was way more complex than they let on.
Hopefully you are still watching these comments. I keep forgetting to ask you. I understand new Polaroid now has all of the patents from Old Polaroid, why are we not seeing Time Zero film? That stuff I was shooting in the 70s and 80s would develop in 3 to 5 minutes max. Just like Instax today?
Hi there! When Polaroid went bankrupt in 2008, there was a massive collapse in their supply chain as well. As they were previously “grandfathered in” to modern environmental regulations, Impossible Project was also handcuffed to use entirely new chemicals in their formula, and negative. Recreating TZ or 600 film from 2008 and prior is not possible to do 1:1. In the 60s, Polaroid could have billions of dollars invested into developing fixes for these sorts of problems, now they have a fairly small team and finite resources limited by modern regulations to pull it off.
Definitely appreciate what New 55 did, and sad that it didn't quite lift off like we all hoped it could. I am looking, really, hard at Polaroid and Fuji. If certain battery powered car CEO doofuses can fly to space, one of them should just splurge the money on packflim or they can pay fair taxes.
You should challenge China to make inexpensive SX-70 film and they will counterfeit it within a few months and sell it for one American buck for 10 photos.

Preach baby!! (Angel investor when???)

Thanks for your thoughts Ben! I always joke to my friend of how good a salesman you are but truly you’ve helped me enjoy this little passion of mine even more and managed to spread it to other people with your fun videos and everything else you do
Thank you so much for the kind words!! The one thing I hope to sell the most is love ❤😍🤘
For those looking for advanced cameras for Instax, MiNT and NONS cameras can be among the options

1) I recommend Brooklyn Film Camera - full disclosure I do work for BFC so you could call me biased there.

A Fuji "pro" line of cameras would be dope. Partner with a company like Mint. I think enthusiasts would love it.
Mint already has "pro" Instax cameras and they barely sell.

thanks for taking the time to answer my question
POLAROID\INSTAX DROP A NEW PEEL-OFF FILM AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
AGREED - TAKE ME NOW
My dad gave me his old Polaroid 210 and it’s unfortunately been a really cool looking display piece I would love to be able to shoot with it at least a little someday! 😭
We will Miss you at OG Polacon this year! But don’t worry, I will keep the kids in line. 👍😬👍
Thank you for your service 🫡
I was one of the people that asked about packfilm, so I'd say that counts as making it into the video 😎
Count it!!!
Love your Q&As! If your coffee is too hot- try bourbon!
This idea just makes sense
As they say, more film more fun!
I’ll get a Go the second the bring out B&W for it!
i am extremely depressed but bringing back packfilm would make me slightly happier
bring it back

When will more 8x10 b&w and color be available from polaroid ?
rb
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Fuji could do soooo much good stuff....

Since there's a "Bring back FP-100C" comment, I just have to...
Bring back Polaroid Spectra
AGREED
I miss it so much…it was such a bummer that even properly stored expired film was nearly unusable in my experience

I would love to get a proper adapter for Spectra cameras.
I SECOND THAT

I'm thimking about getting a new model Instax mini LiPlay. The new model has the same lens and sensor as the Mini EVO. What do you think?

It's funny because just this week I noticed that there is an actual warning on the top on Instax Mini film saying not to put it in your mouth...😁
And yet here it is extending my life

Agree!! #AngelInvestorVibes
Will there be a giant Polaroid film the size of a big picture frame to look like a conventional polaroid film?
Yes, it is called Polaroid 20x24 and the amazing camera and film are currently touring the world for the Polaroid Foundation.
What if there will be a Polaroid and Instax collaboration?
Amazingly, that did happen once. It’s called the “Polaroid Mio” - arguably Polaroid’s lowest point, true abomination 😂
❤

I hereby CHALLENGE CHINA!

The AI has your location...
oh god oh no please no
I volunteer in becoming the angel investor pack film needs for its resurrection
Now i need an angel investor for a small loan of 10 million dollars 😂

asking instagram AI how many polaroids per day I should put in my mouth
did they answer yet
I lava u.
No meeee ❤❤❤
SX70 is ISO 100. Image is much sharper and pleasing to the eye. So no, don’t convert your SX70 for an ISO 600 film.
I KNEW you’d have a good opinion on AI images!! 🎉🫶✊
