    thanks a ton for this video. I did my first brake job on my 2015 sentra today - I had never replaced rotors before. This video was great - I had a hard time getting the pads off at first, then realized I could just put a flathead screwdriver behind the top of the pad and pop it right off. My factory pads/rotors lasted 87k and were basically worn down to zero.
    this was super helpful and saved me about $800.

      Same ! I skipped that step tonight and had some issues when I did my test drive. Gonna go back and fix that part and hopefully will be all good

    Just got stimulus check, know i know what tools to waste it on. Hopefully im able to change the brakes on my own. Charging me 140$ for front & 170$ for back. The brakes are 40 dollars in autozone, you just saved me more than 200$. That's if i get the job done, Thank you.

    good video, I would add lube to the upper slider "valley" for the brake shoe. I understand there is spring metal assistance and, your in SoCal but, lube is always crucial for proper movement. Thank you for the specs, that was great, you provided me a heads up on a job I'm doing this weekend. Stay safe brother.

    Hey Oscar Ruiz I have a question at minute 1:21 What type of Impact Drill are you using because I have a 20 v Power Dewalt Impact Drill and mine doesnt have the torque to remove the bolt of the wheel or is it that I need to loosen them first by hand Thank you and I would greatly appreaciate a respond

      Hi max, it the milwaukee 1/2 inch impact 12v gun . It's not a drill gun, 250 ftlb of nut busting torque. 179.99 at ur local home depot tool only, battery are extra

    It’s easier to depress the caliper piston while the old rotor is mounted by sticking a pry bar or flat-tip screwdriver between the rotor and old brake pad and pry until piston is fully depressed.

    Very well detailed Oscar. I have a question though? I have been doing brakes over 25 years & had a issue with a 2010 nissan sentra 2.5 & changed the front as you did in the video & when I went to pump brakes & still no brakes. The pedal would be hard then it would go completely to the floor? It was spongey? But than I noticed fluid was coming out rear cylinders? Could this be a cause of sitting for 2 years & no movement? Master cylinder was very low as well. I put about 1/2 quart of fluid as well. I've never had a issue doing brakes just this one. Any input would be greatly appreciated Oscar & thank you.     Thanks for the detailed info there’s definitely a lot that I learned from this video that I didn’t do the last time I changed my brakes.     Hey man! Thanks for the great video. How essential is a torque wrench to put the caliper back on? Is white lithium grease an acceptable substitute for greasing parts?

      No, you have to use high temperature grease specific for break parts, or else the grease will cook and the brakes will seize onto the rotor.

      My vehicle is a 2015 Sentra and the OEM’s have the four clips

    Great video and well explain. I have couple questions. I'm attempting to do this on my wife's car how do I know if rotors can be resurface or not? If they do how can I find a local shop that would do this for me? Are those pads better than oem nissan?

      Good morning Eduardo, oem parts are always the best way to go if you can buy them but if your on a budget anything close to oem will do, remember when ur buying OEM parts your paying more but the your paying for the quality aswell. As for your rotors, use ur index finger and rub on the rotor surface ..it should feel evenly nice and smooth...if you feel some unevenness like warping or if you visually see a lip on the end of the rotor it's recommend to get ur rotors resurface for a smooth braking system. If you take it to your local auto store like orally auto parts the will charge you a fee of 15-20 per resurface rotor...depends if it's for a car or truck. Or any tire shop or autoshop has the equipment to do the job. They will check with the manufacturer to see the minimum depthness of how much they can resurface each rotor. Trust me they will tell you if they can not since they are liable for making sure they are safely doing the job right. I own a brake lath and I resurface rotors for my neighbor all the time but I check the car or truck recommend specifications and make sure I don't take too much off where the safety is compramis. I hope this helps you out.

      Also the rotor hav a stamp minimum thickness in it, you can also check when you get ur rotors back to make sure they are to spec.

      The procedure is predominantly the same, although the back pads themselves may be different.

    Hi we tried removing the driver side couldn't remove the bolts for the rotors do they remove the same way as the passenger side ?

      Hi Rachel, yes everything should be the same as the passenger side. Try spraing the bolts with some penetrating oil see if the help

      So the new brakes can be inserted in their respective slot otherwise you won't be able to replace them

      No the system stayed sealed and the brake lines didn't get air in them. Pressing the caliper in pushes fluid into the resrvoir (open the lid before doing this).

      @@slams777 yes the rears on my 2017 SR (non turbo I think same as SV) are disc. I replaced all 4 brakes front and back with no air in systrm and no extra fluid needed. This is my wife's work commute vehicle and she puts 25,000+ miles a year on it. All it takes is a 14mm and clamp or something compress the caliper. Super easy job.

    Why do people put the slide pin grease on the back of the brake pads? Your caliper slide pins need grease or they will stick. Put brand new brake pads on without greasing the pins will cause your pads to stay compressed against the rotor making them wear out. Most of the time it's one side. Then you got squeaky brakes. Eventually your pads will wear out sideways.

      Hi trail mix, great question, the type of grease I used on the video "Permatex" is designed for metal to metal contact as well as a great lubricant for internal parts. I used this type of lubrication for a quiter Ride.
