Great tutorial and super useful for a project I'm working on. Is it possible to have different materials for each layer? It only seems to apply the material to the volume mesher
You might be able to use a vertex map with a spherical falloff to make a mask for each section or colour it with a ramp - I can help you set it up, are you one of our members?
@@CGShortcuts Thank you for replying, really appreciate it! I ended up duplicating the volume mesh and adding the builds that I wanted to have a different material over to it. Not the cleanest solution but seems to have worked. Thanks again 👍
Cheers Carson, you can get the random pattern by adding a random field to a vertex map and plugging it into a gradient within your Redshift material. You can see the exact setup in the Redshift version of the project file.

Hello, wonderful tutorial! I am having an issue with rendering though. The first mesher renders fine but once the second is in the hierarchy it renders as a smooth sphere. I've tried playing with render settings, where it is located in the hierarchy, making a duplicate of the initial hierarchy etc...Any thoughts? Thank you either way!
Hi, I have one question. When I start render in c4d, The deformation shape will render out together. How can I render like yours? Just only show volume builder shape. Many thanks.
Hi, I was trying to add the materials to the spheres, but when I use the RS Render View my objects do not show any material, do you know how can I fix this?
Hi. thank you for this beautiful video. I tried replicating this, however even after I cache all the volume by ticking animation, I still cant scrub through the timeline. Please help.
if your voxel size is super low and your mesh very dense, you might always struggle to get fast playback depending on your computer. Just turn things off while you work, it'll still render fine
Hey man, will you ever have an updated version of the redshift settings for r 2023? Unless you have an file ready to download so u dont have to make a video, heh
This will bring your computer to it's knees :)
Yep it can do if the voxel size is too low

Great tutorial!! Can I replicate this in Blender, following the same logic of the modifier applications?
Cheers! I cant say regarding Blender, I dont use it;)
Brilliant tutorial! 👍
Cheers Aliona;)
1:30 Hi master, How did you call out the pop window for searching effectors?
Just hit SHIFT + C to bring up the commander and start typing what you need
Thank you!!
No worries, loads more tutorials and C4D resources at cgshortcuts.com (you can also get help directly with your projects).
You should try recreating our Keyboard shot next ;)
The shot with the bubbling keys?

Thank you very much
No problem VanPhuc. Loads more tutorials at cgshortcuts.com
Amazing thank you! What were your steps for materials and rendering?

@@CGShortcuts thank you so much! This is my favorite tutorial I've completed :)
Nice! it can be baked Volume mesher? to make files lighter.. what pc you use for c4d ? cpu and graphic card?
You can cache it but it will take forever. You can also find my pc specs in this video ua-cam.com/video/CcIjZZX5DPo/v-deo.html
Brilliant

Sorry figured it out. Just put an object tag on the inner and outer spheres and set them to invisible.
No worries Nick, you can take a look at the project file as well to see how we set it up in Redshift
I can't see it appear in the redshfit render view when I place the Volume Builder :(
needs to go into a volume mesher so it will show up as a mesh;)

if youre using redshift add a redshift object tag and set it to be hidden from the render

Hard to say, could be a number of reasons. Maybe take a look at the project file and compare it with yours so you can see where you went wrong

How can i increase the length of the animation?
extend the timeline

This project file uses my usual Redshift Settings, we'll do a Redshift Rendering tips video soon too
Project file not free.
The Free Project File is Free, just make a Free account to download;)
this task is not for my laptop :)
Yeah this one can be pretty heavy on the CPU
I have 13th Gen Intel i9-13900K, 64gb ram and a 4090 and i cant open the project file for some reason. Crashes instantly
Weird, Maybe try updating your drivers and C4D?
