Hey I'm new to C4D. This was the first thing I decided to create! Loved this tutorial but would really like to know how to take it further and look like the end result in the shot you used as the thumbnail. Basically how to make these float and maybe how to make more of them so they all float along side each other. Great work!
hey there EJ.I just want to tell you that I really appreciate the hard work you do for us. From the shooting of the videos, editing, thinking about what content to make, thank you very much and I hope that you will always have the strength to continue to deliver such quality content to us
Wow thank you so much for the awesomely kind words - it means a lot that you appreciate all the work that any tutorial artist puts in to make a video! :) Comments like this keeps inspiring me to keep doing them so thank you!
Hey ! Thank you so much for this tut and for all the other ones haha, I saw it month ago without doing it but now I need to make mylar balloons so... Thank you !!
Thats a cool thing brother I kinda trying to do the same, I do it in cinema and them I try to replicate in blender aswell, why not learn both programs right? :D
Hi E.J, thanks for your super tutorials, I've been following you for years! Do you know if there is a way to use the technique you use in the tutorial (Baloon > mix Animation > Map > Vertex Map) but at the same time be able to use forces to move the whole object: It seems that no force can move the parts of the cloth excluded from inflation with the vertex map thanks
@@eyedesyn Please don’t give me wrong and all the respects to you and all 3D artists. This days most of the artists are making ballon’s , pyro and ropes. I don't care about any balloons, but the meshing is insane. My mind is stuck in C4D versions from 10 years ago, where all the cool stuff didn't exist yet...
My letters have weird bumps that extrude out far more than the broader letter when the balloon animation pumps air into them. Any solution to fix this? Thank you!!
excellent tutorial! When I render video using redshift all the frames come out black. In the Redshift viewer if it renders well. Do you know why it may be happening? thanks bro
Very nice tutorial! I have aproblem though when I change the letter in the text spline, it does not update the mesh but it does when I look at the vertex map?
eyedesyn, greets!! 1. Why does my text mesh wiggle or bubble when simulated? This is my fourth time going over it 2. Mesh is not shown in red in Vertex Map.
I'll need more info to help! It might be the scale of your object and you may have not setup the vertex map correctly if you're not seeing nay red in the vertex map
I was wondering, so why do we have to keep the text centered at the position you mentioned earlier in the tutorial? Can’t we put the object for this affect anywhere in our scene? Thanks for this amazing tutorial man!!
That's done for correct work of zremesher with Z symmetrical option on - faster calculation as a result. But you may check this option off and place your spline wherever you want,
@@fixable Ahh okay, that’s very interesting. Thanks for clearing that up for me! I was super confused. So if we turn off Z symmetry for zremesher but use zremesher, we can still place it wherever?
@@HAJJ101 yes, that's right. Z symmetry works from z remesher origin coordinates, so turning off any symmetry option you may place spline where you want. We are talking about changing spline position. But this symmetry option is really helpful - your mesh would be symmetry along z axis and calculation would be faster. So I suggest to make all of preparations along with this tutorial and then change position of Remesh object. So you will not brake remesh algorithms and everything should work fine. Test it 😉
@@fixable Ohh okay. Will do! Thanks for taking the time to break this all down because I was lost when he did that. Much respect and love🤞🤞🙏!! I will take this knowledge and have a lot of fun with this tutorial finally :)
Hey there.Question? How do you add a texture to a plane in cinema 4D say a building front. then you want to move around edges to match teh building front to extrude..However the texture stretches when you move edges or vertex. what is the setting where you can adjust edges and vertex without moving the texture. IN Blender its the correct face attributes but I cant find an answer for cinema 4d....Can you tell me if possible?
I would wait to texture an object until you're done modeling. At that point to get textures mapped accurately you would need to learn how to UV unwrap - so def check out UA-cam for UV unwrapping tutorials!
@@eyedesyn thanks for responding but I have an image of a building front and want to slide the edges to match windows and extrude them it’s in other software like 3Dmax and blender I’m missing something in blender u just check the box correct face attributes
Great tutorial (as usual)! One question, though: what if I want those baloons to float using gravity/wind etc? Since "mix animation" is used, that affect those forces as well and thw whole simulatiuon does not behave realistically. Is there any way to tell "mix animation" to affect only baloon inflating and not the "external" forces?
Thanks for the kind words! :) I would honestly just bake in the wrinkles, etc so at the end of the day you got the balloon mesh with seams/wrinkles and apply the sim tag to that
You can apply Bullet Tag/Rigid Body to the Subdivision Surface group. Gravity may not working properly but wind/turbulence should work. Also you can export as alembic, import again and apply Bullet Tag/Rigid Body to it. Gravity works that way. edit: You can apply Bullet Tag/Rigid Body to the Subdivision Surface group and exclude gravity from balloon tag.
For some reason the vertex map colours aren't showing for me, when I apply a vertex map to a different object I can see them but on the remesh there is no colour, any ideas why?
I want to apply some forces to this but seems like the ballons stay on one place and just one part of them gets sucked into the force field. Anyone knows whats the issue?
When i go to drop drop menu and hover on simulation tag, i cannot seem to find the balloon tag in the list. I can only see rigid, soft, collidor, ghost and cloth simulation tags. Can someone guide me on whether there is a hidden checkbox i need to enable or is that a plugin? Thanks

it woud be great if we can have a follow up on how to explode these balloons.
Very nice tutorial! I have aproblem though when I change the letter in the text spline, it does not update the mesh but it does when I look at the vertex map?
If anyone has this problem. I found a very simple fix. Simply drag your text spline out of the extrude and back onto the extrude and it should update.
Sometimes the Remesh, etc doesn't update so you can also try toggling the Remesh/Volume Builder, etc on and off and see if it'll update!
can you buy from gumroad in the uk? its only dollars

love your tutorial! How long does it take to render this? I am trying to render a whole word and each letter is taking a really long time
