@@ashmoe7 Was it me or was there two closets in that bathroom? Maybe steal some space from that and move the toilet and slide the shower into that area to open up the door.
I actually loved how the dining room turned out! Being partially separated from the kitchen makes it look so much more elegant. But being also partially open space makes it very functional since it is the only dining space.
In the master bath why not swap the double vanity and shower area-it makes more sense for the toilet to be near the sink, provide more space near the toilet, and allow the doorway to be widened. (It might be cost prohibitive, but can’t be too bad since you already have water hooked up to those spaces) Plus, you could have a cool double shower head or something like that!
What a beautifully done book ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxo4aMFkUegBx-KHPIJlfwKPHu7kQXAR9N ! The text and the photographs are brilliant. It is thorough and genuinely informative. Joseph Truini got another winner! No one does it better! Love the Cape Cod Shed with the Blue door!
Amazing! The only thing I would have done differently would have been to borrow a few inches from that shower to make the doorway bigger. The shower still would have been HUGE. A narrow bathroom door makes it hard to sell to folks with walkers, etc. Still, overall a great job. Would love to see what they did with that front patio up close.
I don’t love mixing metals as much as I love mixing woods in my decor, but believe that the right balance & mixture of them can look really beautiful in a house, just like it does in jewelry.
I love how everything turned out! My only thought here, would be, if the ceilings in the kitchen are level, then maybe the cabinets could go up to the ceiling height for more cabinet space. Might make the height of the kitchen appeared taller even if it actually is taller. But again, I do love the transformation, great job guys! :)
Yes. I agree, extending the cabinets to the ceiling would make the ceiling feel higher, drawing the eye up, as well as bringing that updated cottage feel from the outside to the inside. The refrigerator placement us not functional. Putting the refrigerator in the "L" would develop a standard working triangle.
The kitchen cabinets only come in a little short as they should at least match the height of the windows. Though I love the open top above them as this allows for some very large pieces to be displayed in an open shelving concept.
I would have switched the location for the toilet and the door into the bathroom. The door can be in that awkward angle nook and the toilet can be on the other side of the shower (keep the original wall) and add a pocket door for actual privacy. I like the glass for the shower though, versus a curtain.
I would've done a barn door, easiest or access thru the closet if it is walk-in wide enough, and use linen closet for more space. Then install shelving to where bathroom door is for linens. That toilet makes you want to tear it all down + start over, but budget...
🙅🏼♀️ “X”on end of island = husband didn’t find wife’s “G” spot last nite so X = no food being made in this kitchen any time soon. 🤔👇🎤 Sounds like a math equation.
I’ve watched like 5 episodes now and the production value of your show is really good. Questions I have, approximately how many houses do you guys flip a year? What is your estimated time frame working on each house?
Horrified to see the mason dry-cutting the stone without wearing any sort of PPE. Poor bastard is going to get silicosis in no time if he keeps doing that. :(
The next generation of house flippers will be all about putting walls back up to provide privacy to the kitchen. They'll be all like "ew can you imagine trying to watch a romantic movie to the sounds and smells of frying fish? Let's put some dividers up!"
it probably would have been more expensive, but couldn't yall have just swapped the location of the toilet and shower in the master bathroom? move the shower into the little nook, moved the toilet and then just opened up the door more?
This is exactly why I would NEVER buy a remodeled house. When things are done for a profit they aren’t done well nor functional. You’re always better off buying the old house and remodeling yourself.
I know you have completed this project, but I would throw out an option that I would have considered. The Kitchen. It would have been so darling to just open the wall up where the slant was facing the other room. ( where you had originally taken down the sheetrock.} That way you could angled a large Island angled the same way. You would have had wall area for the stove. and room in the corner near the main entrance for a corner pantry. I would have totally transformed that bath. Move either the tub or shower to where the vanities were. Put a smaller vanity where the shower was. Definitely widen the doorway and remove the offending wall in front of the toilet. Homes should not target just 1 age group or the ideal norm. They should be accessible for all ages and abilities. ca disabled person absolutely could not reside there. There is NO accessible bathroom. Did you have the fireplace inspected to be sure it was worth keeping and spending money on. Probably at that age it is not. So who is liable if it burns the house down the first chilly night? Light brass is like shiny gold...soon passes. Looks not planned just accidental. Actually I would loved to have been in charge of this remodel.
The house looks beautiful with the clear glass, dark surfaces, and windows. Loving everything except for the awkward bathroom, X dust catcher and the mixed metals.
This was a big project. I love before and after shows. Great job. Again. I wish you could come to my house in Florida and do your magic. I'd keep the house.
I love watching your videos! I hope to be able to flip houses one day I’m recovering from a third degree burn from my knuckles to my elbow and I’m 6 months pregnant so it’s put a hold on my plans to one day be able to do this but anything is possible with goals!!! Keep up the amazing work.

Idk why I’m so impressed with your sponsors. You usually need millions of subs before getting these big name companies to open their wallets 😂 obviously you guys are getting amazing views and your cpm is high but still! Good job and keep it up! Your production quality is amazing, even a year ago when you started! I love that you’ve taken criticisms professionally and improved gradually, as well!
Could you please do insta vote for stove/cooktop in the island or outside it ? I prefer the island neat and clutter free and always image it without stove. And that gives the opportunity of putting beautiful hanging lights instead of vent hood. Your thoughts 🧐🤔
Love mixed metals, but must be high end looking to pull off! You missed an opportunity on those kitchen cabinets, I would have ran some custom cabinets to the ceiling them top them off with crown molding to make that kitchen look bigger and storage to look massive!
Great job. Loved the grey and white theme throughout. Good choice on the floor, placement of the island, and the glass shower stall in the master. Overall....well done. Good luck.
Just saw this conversion. Not going with the whole grey/modern stuff, but that is what is trending, so ditch the picket fence out front. Doesn't fit the modern vibe. Mixed metals - nah. In the kitchen, should have left a full washer dryer set, not stackable. Not big enough for a family. The existing pantry could have been converted into a semi walk-in corner pantry. Cabinets definitely needed to be taller. Not going with the X on island, either. Agree on the master bath. Really couldn't move the shower to the corner, with the windows right there.
My mom bought a stacking washer and dryer in 1972, it washed and dried for the 7 of us for the next 30 years. My brothers were all school athletes too, with practically a whole load of dirty smelly clothes a day just from that.
I just bought my first home for $35,000! 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 stories with about 2,000 square feet. I’m super excited to get the process started! Could you possibly tell me an estimate on how much i can save by doing the demolition on my own. I also live in Texas.
The way that glass shower is "in your face" when you come into the bathroom through that narrow door would bother me. I would of had a smaller shower or left the wall. Seems like an accident waiting to happen.
Ohhh the subscribers told you to paint the brick white. I really hate painted bricks but 🤷🏼♀️ guess everyone else liked it. Love the inside except the kitchen bench shouldn't have that wooden cross thing on it, would look better plain white but again, subscribers picked it 🤣
I like that fireplace and mantel. It looks great. The contrast on the island is great as well. Something more was needed on the backsplash or cabinet color. It just didn’t have any wow to it. Love the tile in the bathroom as well.
Okay so I discovered your channel yesterday and I’ve watched a LOT of your flips and I can honestly say this is my favorite! I absolutely love your style! Very modern and chic. I was a bit hesitant when I saw the antique cabinet because I’m generally not a dark wood fan but when I saw how you purposed it I was so impressed! The roof that you put over the outside furniture- I won’t lie I’m not a fan of the colour (because dark wood). But really this place was beautifully done! And I’m so thrilled with the fireplace! So glad you kept a bit of the original charm without making it seem old fashioned! And the beams in the front of the house tied in the fence so well. Okay I’m done now 😂 Lockdown got me ACTUALLY commenting on a video for the first time in years. From 🇿🇦
I clicked on this video because you painted the brick and im so glad to see there are no comments of people complaining about it. I own a brick house and we are contemplating painting it white but not sure how many people would be mad we are ruining the brick that is 77 years old.
Love the kitchen! Probably wouldn't mix metals. I prefer everything to be cohesive (matching bathroom floors, matching color schemes, matching hardware) but i would give all that up for that kitchen!
Hind sight is always better than foresight, but . . . . again, 40 inch cabinets are THE way to go in a kitchen. And I would have angled the island. . . and not boxed in the refrigerator area . . . it looked a bit narrow for the modern sizes. And definitely widen out the master bathroom doorway. The switch up of the shower and the vanity would have been awesome!
Y'all need some different painters... I can see SO many spots that need touched up. If I can see them in a video, you can be sure they're noticeable to people walking through the house.
Beautiful transformation! I don’t mind the kitchen being semi-open. I’m not a fan of super open concept so the fact that it’s tucked a bit on the corner is ideal for me.. Anyway, you guys are hilarious & fun to watch! 😅👍
I just found your channel and I am loving it!! There some design choices that I love and some I don't, but that's okay. We are all allowed to have our own opinions. Personally I would've stolen some space from the shower to make the primary bathroom door wider. As a larger person myself, it would be a major downer to not be able to comfortably walk through my own bathroom door. Not trying to be a "hater", just my personal preference. Again, I love your channel and I can't wait to watch all of your amazing projects come to life. Keep doing what you are doing!
Great video! But...... didn't Instagram vote for a stain on the island? Love the two-tone precisely what I said when the choice was given and "noooooooooooooooo" when the stain won the vote!
This house is amaaaazing. The windows were actually so beautiful! And oh my gosh, that master... I would move right in! Thinking it will look soo beautiful when that big tree in front of the house is all green. Cant wait to see more projects from you! also, could you somehow update on what you have sold for so far, like the most recent houses? can't find the numbers on IG! x
Austin Flipsters I didn’t catch it in the end result, could you please leave the time stamp? I was commenting as the video played and half watching as I cleaned haha but typically those are the kind of things that catch my interest! It definitely does depend, though 😄
I love your channel! I hope your channel keeps growing so you can keep making content for us. I feel like I’m watching hgtv but much more genuine/real!
Have you ever put kitchen cabs all the way up to the ceiling? I luv the way it makes the kitchen look taller, plus more storage. This would have been a great house for it. I really like this house. The thing I would do different is to move the stove right across from the sink. But maybe there wasn't enough room to open the oven door if you put it that way.
I recently found the channel, and watched quite a few videos. The only thing is that after so many episodes of just using the exact same things in the renovation to me it became a bit predictable and boring. I get that using the cheaper options pays off more, but in all the episodes that I watched most of the elements are exactly the same: subway tiles, counter tops, taps, the furniture, kitchen elements... I personaly dont like that the coat closet next to the entrance is converted to a fridge space on the other side. The kitchen was huge and had enough space to put the fridge elsewherey while I think that a coat closet is nessesary since there is no other hidden place to store your jaket and dirty shoes because you enter directly into the living room area. The shower was also pretty huge already so I think that a better choice would have been to steal those 10-15cm from the shower and have wider door and more comfortable space while entering the bathroom.
It’s looks fantastic but do ever worry that you are over improving the property. That’s something I think about when renovating. I totally get the desire to fix ugly
Yes! It’s a fine line. It really depends on the area and the comps. This project is definitely the nicest in the neighborhood. So probably a little overbuilt. But it does help them sell quickly.
Just a word of caution with putting laundry facilities in the same closet as food storage; I had that arrangement, and it took us by surprise that things such as boxed potatoes, never been opened, tasted of Tide. I suggest putting all that laundry stuff in another space, maybe under the sink?
I would have LOVED the island angled to match that angled entrance. The square look that she went for was awkward for that space. Kitchen cabinets should go to the ceiling. They looked minute in that kitchen. Are tubs in masters going out of style in Texas? Also, the small paint mistakes were driving me bunkers! Attention to detail goes a long way.
That master shower is massive! You easily could have stolen a foot for a wider door and still had a spacious shower
They could’ve swapped the sink and shower area
@@ashmoe7 Was it me or was there two closets in that bathroom? Maybe steal some space from that and move the toilet and slide the shower into that area to open up the door.
Or keep the size and add a bench.
I actually loved how the dining room turned out! Being partially separated from the kitchen makes it look so much more elegant. But being also partially open space makes it very functional since it is the only dining space.
Thanks Nina! ♥️
that was the formal dining room, there was a breakfast nook in the kitchen.
There’s a missed opportunity with the kitchen cabinets! I wish they were all the way to the ceiling it would allow for more storage
I honestly hate how they angled the island. I feel the the stove shove been back to back with the sink. It just looks awkward
lol. I kept pausing the vid on the kitchen and staring at the island saying it is angled wrong. It was bugging me immensely!
Wow you have a good eye I didn’t even notice !!! 😞
It’s horrible. How does it make sense to have to walk around the island to cook?
Honestly you can buy your own fixer upper and angle an island however you so desire

Is a door that narrow even allowed? I thought there were required widths..
Thought about switching the the placement of the shower and toilet. I always thought that showers were better in or near corners.
I really love the partial wall between the kitchen and dining room. I think that’s what I’ll do to my house as opposed to completely opening it up

Great video! But...... didn't Instagram vote for a stain on the island? Love the two-tone precisely what I said when the choice was given and "noooooooooooooooo" when the stain won the vote!
I get some great ideas from you guys! I have an older house built in the 1960's in Windsor Park that I want to flip!
Love these videos. I'm currently in the process of designing my bedroom. Love how funny you guys are! 😄👍
You can do it! Tag us in some instagram pics of your project!
It'll probs be a while before I carry on working on it again though due to it being harder to get to the shops now 😕
Yes!!! Thank you when things are not level it creates an array of problems !
So true!
Production value is going up, good job guys. I already liked it because of the content but it’s always an added bonus.
Thanks, Alex! We try to make the production value better each video. I'm glad it shows!
Austin Flipsters For sure! I’m partial to Lincoln dad’s jokes too since I make them all the time haha
@@ronaldo19832 YES!!!!!
This house is amaaaazing. The windows were actually so beautiful! And oh my gosh, that master... I would move right in! Thinking it will look soo beautiful when that big tree in front of the house is all green. Cant wait to see more projects from you! also, could you somehow update on what you have sold for so far, like the most recent houses? can't find the numbers on IG!
x
Thanks for watching! The houses are on IG. Scroll down on the feed. They are pictures with a big "sold" stamp on them in red.
The kitchen design is to die for!!
Thank you! ♥️♥️♥️
The mixed metals look great! It adds character, not everyone has good taste 😌
I agree with Lincoln on the angle! I think complacency kills and it pays to be forward thinking!
I think we both agreed that Lauren was right! The angle would have been weird! LOL. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Austin Flipsters I didn’t catch it in the end result, could you please leave the time stamp?
I was commenting as the video played and half watching as I cleaned haha but typically those are the kind of things that catch my interest! It definitely does depend, though 😄
A lovely remodel although I would have made the door wider to master bath and lose some of the shower. Take care and stay safe.
50k When you dropped this video and now you're at162K a year later ... Take it in. ♥
Best video...great personalities. Will binge watch.
I love your channel! I hope your channel keeps growing so you can keep making content for us. I feel like I’m watching hgtv but much more genuine/real!
♥️♥️♥️ I hope we can keep making them too! Thanks for supporting us!
I hate having a stove in the island and the interfering vent hood. I love a big island with nothing on it. Love the brass fixtures.
I never took geometry but I really like angles.
Can’t wait for your next flip!!!
Love y'all & your Audible personal endorsement!
You two are funny and I enjoy the show very much.
Just a word of caution with putting laundry facilities in the same closet as food storage; I had that arrangement, and it took us by surprise that things such as boxed potatoes, never been opened, tasted of Tide. I suggest putting all that laundry stuff in another space, maybe under the sink?
But but I loved that chandelier!! Lol had the exact 1 in our house when I was a kid Awwwww
My parents packed up the chandelier from my childhood home and brought it all the way to Colorado from Illinois! They paid for it themselves, too.
@@Karrambide ♥️💕♥️💕🙌 Love it!
I really can't see the difference between the two counter tops😂
Me either
Food closet, love it 😂
