    The original floor - Was very Nice.

      Some people like terrazo but it wasn’t to our taste.
      It wasn’t “original” as it was put in maybe 15 years ago.. and also unfortunately had big patches of concrete filling some gaps and cracks. So we decided to get rid of it 🙃

    Thoroughly enjoyed it and subscribed can’t do more as I’m an 80 year old pensioner that has to watch her cents as yes I don’t live in the UK but in Italy coming here way back in 1969 when I was 25. Keep the good work up it’s all looking great. It’s also a big achievement having a young baby to look after too.

      Haha. Some love it. Some hate it. But unfortunately it had cracks and random patches of concrete all over anyway, that the previous owner had used to patch up work. So it had to go!

      I love it when they work with the history and patch the patches with like materials. The landlord reno bummed me out too. Airbnb vibes. Edited to say, to be clear the house looks great. Just the bathroom bummed me out. lol

      We didn’t mind how it looked but you couldn’t see anything on it bc if the pattern… bad for baby cleaning. Also there were random patches of concrete in it 😬

    The house has a solid foundation and well-built. Good decision in buying it. So glad that they kept the original works. Both of them are so skillful in rebuilding their beloved home.

    The bathroom seems a little lost. I love that you went the more natural/original look for the walls, but then a sleek, modern mirror and fittings... I would have gone with something more rustic to fit the era of the house

    • @lindamounts2193
      @lindamounts2193 Місяць тому +1

      It's kind of soulless.

    • @SmithsdaleFarm
      @SmithsdaleFarm  Місяць тому

      It’s a shame you both think so.
      But we mentioned in the full length videos that this is not actually going to be our final bathroom fit - we’ll probably redo the bathroom properly in a year or 2. We just wanted something to freshen it in the meantime without spending too much money. Something clean and bright until we can do the full reno in the future, while we work on other rooms in the house first. 😊

    Can you please tell me the name of the product that you used to go over your tiles in the bathroom walls shower area as I will be able to see if they sell the product here in Australia.

      The one we used was called “Masilla cubre azulejos en pasta” by the brand TOUPRET. It is a fine paste material designed specifically for covering tiles.
      Hopefully you can find something similar for your project 😁

(On dit chez nous « des ramasses-poussières 😊) . En fait cela pourrait être un fameux nid à acariens et préjudiciable à la santé de l’enfant qui dort directement dessous; ne croyez vous pas?😮

      For any major renovation or adaptation to the house (for example, in this case changing our windows and building a new kitchen). We’ll be making a video very soon about it, as all the info can be a bit hard to find and piece together. We’re going to share what we’ve learned from 4 years of off grid and town based projects so far
