The bathroom is adorable. I love the tile. Flooring throughout is also really pretty! Not sold on the garage conversion from the outside... But I'm from KS and that's blasphemous here. Maybe it's more typical to see that there. I would have made it back into a garage!
Yup. Here in Kansas if you make a garage conversion like that you might as well have used a page from the bible as toilet paper as you have basically signed your own ostracization warrant 😂
Way too dark in the heat of Texas. And you missed out on using those beams sticking out of the roof line to bring the eye up and accent the midcentury-modern style.
I love everything you did on the inside! The tile is beautiful! I really hate how garage conversions look from the outside. I wonder if you could add brick, where the doors used to be, to make it look seamless. Personally, I'd miss having a garage, so I wonder if it would have cost less to convert it back to a garage. Spending less on the remodel and getting less for the house because you lose a bedroom and bathroom might be a wash. I think the outside definitely needed to be painted, but I'm not crazy about the dark colors. Maybe if the roofline and accents were white, it would balance it out. I'm sure the new owners will love the property and I'll bet the neighbors are so pleased to have that eyesore updated and breathing new life into the neighborhood! Nice work!!
I actually like the dark exterior, but I was wondering about those garage doors as well.. I thought they would comment on that, but surprisingly they didn't..
You should put a cardboard fridge! And a demo TV as they have in Ikea. In Europe some of the more bulky pieces of furniture like a bed are just constructed out of cardboard and then covered with a blanket. This way you don't need to haul big heavy or expensive pieces into the house to demonstrate how you'd decorate it.
I am not a fan of the outside colour but I LOVE the ones you chose inside. When I see videos like this, people tend to get dark wood and dark everything, it makes me cringe so much... I LOVE the minimalistic style you went for when staging it. A bigger window in the bathrooms would have been nice, more natural light, but not bad. Now to the staged bedroom: I really do not understand why Americans always need such huge rooms. You only go there to sleep and change clothes, why so much room? Anyway, great flip. I think this is the best one I've seen so far.

That cookie...totally through off the symmetry in the staged jar. Do you have ANY idea how long that took to stack? Next time buddy take one from the back. Sheeesh. 🤣
The dark paint looks awesome on the outside but some shades of white or light gray mixed in there would’ve looked pretty cool too in my opinion. Great job y’all
Can you show more of the construction process in your videos? I wish you could have shown the process of filling the concrete dug put for the plumbing and the raising of the floor in the garage. I’m from New York State where we have wood framed houses with basements and I find the concrete slabs really interesting and I’m curious to learn more about the process!
This house has a great floor plan. I like the dark exterior and the Reno was beautifully done. The only thing I would have done differently is gone back to the original 2 car garage. People in Austin drive high end cars. Love your channel. It’s addicting!
I so love this house, and what you did to it. It is my fav, so far, of all I've seen yet. Austin properties are simply outside the realm of people not living in Austin.
I’m not sure I’d like the patterned kitchen tile after moving in. A white tile and go all the way up the walls might work better for more potential buyers...(opinion).
As an Interior Designer, I would have suggested: (1) taller cabinets, run all the way to the ceiling, as the upper shelves could be used for storage of those seldom used (but important) trays, bowls, etc.; (2) eliminate the patterned tile and use a soft dove gray subway tile from countertop to ceiling; (3) use the same dove gray color for the island cabinet color to create a unified theme; (4) use a microwave oven hood above the range, as the current wall-mounted microwave is oddly placed, lacks visual balance in its current location, and it is incorrectly mounted to hang lower than the adjoining cabinet; (5) the island light fixtures do not complement a single design element in the room, neither in shape nor metal finish. It would have been an extra bonus if you had installed a counter-depth refrigerator, allowing for a shallower cabinet above. This creates a more spacious floor area between the fridge and the island. A ceiling-height cabinet above the fridge would also provide extra storage.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and I'm binge watching all of your videos. I must say the end project of each house is fascinating 😍. My favorite part of each house to see is the kitchen. 😊
The garage addition still looks like a two-bay garage from the front. I would have knocked out that center brick divider and made the wood more seamless across the front. And, maybe given it more texture with putting the wood in a chevron pattern instead of just horizontal. Or high windows to match the other side of the house would allow light in, but still have privacy. But first preference would be turn it back into garage. To afford that much for a house, I wouldn't want my car out in the weather. If codes would allow, even a sleek carport would work.
Kept me from going to bed. But the Light touch helps me to go to sleep. Well done, you two and your team. Bold tiles, colors are so good. Proud of your accomplishments. So how much time did it take to sell and did it come out cost wize as you wanted? You improved the neighborhood!
I'm not crazy about the color scheme outside or all the wacky tile, and I would definitely have went with a backyard deck.. but obviously it's all a vast imporvment from the start.
I really don't understand what is going on with UA-cam, this channel deserves millions of subscribers. The quality of videos is amazing, and you guys are always doing stunning work, my favorite channel 😍❤
The house obviously looks better. Everything is clean and new. The bathrooms are great. The materials and colors used in the kitchen are nice, but the kitchen is way too small and looks like an apartment kitchen. It could have been quite a feature had it been larger. In addition, the pieces staged in the dining area and the master bedroom were not the right scale for the house. Rather than make the rooms seem spacious, the furniture became a distraction. I echo the comments about needing a garage and about choosing an ill-advised exterior paint color for the climate (although it looks great).
I thought I was the only person that hates garage conversions!. I absolutely think it’s tacky. I understand that it’s cheaper than buying a larger house but it looks like what it is. I want to be able to park my vehicle in a dry place. I live in a house that is 60 years old and the next project hopefully that my mother plans on tackling is the plumbing. It’s the same type of plumbing. Hopefully you will come out on top with this project.

I loved the transformation and the before & afters were amazing... until you got to the primary bedroom staging. Please please please never use inflatable mattresses. You can obviously tell it's inflatable and that ruins the illusion and defeats the purpose of staging. I'm a professional home stager in Dallas and I would highly suggest you invest in folding box springs instead of inflatable mattresses. They take up very little space to store, they're easy to set up (just unfold and place) and they look exactly like a normal bed. Put some fluffy bedding on top and no one would ever know. They can't deflate and they're very affordable. You can even pick them up at Walmart. We use them in all of our stages. Just a friendly tip for future flips.
I’m glad you were able to sell the house so quickly. All the paint, tile, and wood choices seemed aimed at a small niche market. I know every state is different, but we’re the choices typical for Austin?
I bet the neighbors are really happy you updated it. Sometime these things just stay in a dilapidated state. You guys rock!

@@robertlambert1786 it's about translating someone else's trades into your own account. trick is knowing who to mirror. i've had bad luck doing it with some etoro traders and stayed in the red. these days I've stuck with Josephine Guevara Laporte. she seems to know what she's doing seeing as my account has done some ten percent in growth monthly. been with her for over two years now and have not seen any reason to complain. would highly recommend her to you
@@robertlambert1786 You really don't sound like you have the drive to do all that it takes in RE. i will go with the algo trading guy. it's quite popular these days for most people who cannot get into the nitty and gritty of the various markets owing to full time jobs
@@joshh6078 I am interested in this. what is Josephine's fee structure like and is there a minimum amount required to use her services
I liked the white brick. It's good for the climate in Austin. Helping the reflect the heat.
I am loving the tiles, in the kitchen AND in the bathroom 😍😍😍😍
The bathroom is adorable. I love the tile. Flooring throughout is also really pretty! Not sold on the garage conversion from the outside... But I'm from KS and that's blasphemous here. Maybe it's more typical to see that there. I would have made it back into a garage!
In Kansas you have basements.
@@kvogel9245 true, we have that extra square footage. But we don't park in the basement.
Yup. Here in Kansas if you make a garage conversion like that you might as well have used a page from the bible as toilet paper as you have basically signed your own ostracization warrant 😂
I've been binge watching you guys for a couple days and your sparky, sarcastic humor is life!
This is not the first house they painted black, and I am not a fan. It looks like a haunted house
The upside to it lasting a year is it probably appreciated a lot 🤣
You should put a cardboard fridge! And a demo TV as they have in Ikea. In Europe some of the more bulky pieces of furniture like a bed are just constructed out of cardboard and then covered with a blanket. This way you don't need to haul big heavy or expensive pieces into the house to demonstrate how you'd decorate it.
The inside is OK, The outside looks like a place where you'd meet Freddie Krueger. Gruesome.
I think the colors are great, just not in the Texas heat.
Hahaha
Yes! A bad choice for energy efficiency
with that outside you’re going to look like Freddie Krueger after the first summer.
I think this is the best one I've seen so far.
the tile in the bathrooms aren’t my favorite but the house came out so beautiful in the end 😍
Please post more videos like this. Love watching your videos.
Man, I don't get why this vid isn't getting more views! You always have top-notch production YT vids. Keep it up Joey!
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, I love that they have jokes and it isn’t all serious ❤️
♥️♥️♥️
Too dark ! No cheerful feeling 😞 there. I think wooden shutters would have brought it up
I finally subscribed. I discovered you guys last weekend. Great show, I watched all weekend. You guys are very classy, love your style. I don’t always agree on the layouts but I’m learning great stuff. Blessings to your staff, your families and your audiences.
I’m SO excited you guys are filming again! Even though I am only half way through the video, I know it’s going to be beautiful. ❤️
Hello, hope you’re fine and staying safe?
I love how they mention haters in the comment section and every time I scroll to read through comments it's ALWays so insanely positive lol! Love this channel
That cookie...totally through off the symmetry in the staged jar. Do you have ANY idea how long that took to stack? Next time buddy take one from the back. Sheeesh. 🤣
😂
The dark paint looks awesome on the outside but some shades of white or light gray mixed in there would’ve looked pretty cool too in my opinion. Great job y’all
You would need a full on ladder to reach the upper cabinets if the went to the ceiling.
Hello you 2. Love the before and after videos so much. Addicted!!
Thankssss
Bold tile choices and no garage equates to cutting your buyer numbers in half.
This house has a great floor plan. I like the dark exterior and the Reno was beautifully done. The only thing I would have done differently is gone back to the original 2 car garage. People in Austin drive high end cars. Love your channel. It’s addicting!
Hello, hope you’re fine and staying safe?
Color is much better on this house! Great job guys! Like to see some more recent flips. We’re near the end of 2022.
„Keep your orchids fake and your cookies real“ haha I love this 🍪
I Loved the house overall.
I'd expect a double sink in the huge ensuite bath though.
It turned out nice, but the process to get there ... wooo!
😳😂♥️
I am in love with this house. Nice job!
Great choice for the kitchen backsplash.
I love how open it is inside
Omg I get to see Lauren again!!!
❤️
Thank you for driving up the housing prices in the Austin area!
They saved a dilapidated house
The tiles in the bathroom and kitchen are so beautiful 😍😍😍wow!!!!
You improved the neighborhood!
this channel deserves a million subscribers 🥺
Love all the tile choices. Definitely inspiring
Love the wall color! Off-white are the best. Can you please share the name of the paint colors for the interior?
I was actually on board with the funky tile.
Aww thank you!! ❤️
Love the exterior paint. Totally stealing it. Thank you for resolving the family debate on paint!
Hello, hope you’re fine and staying safe?
Even if you guys didn't make the profit u wanted it's still a great job!!! Nice home n one more family gets 2 enjoy it!!! I'm happy... The open concept is fabulous!!!
Oh wow! That cost a lot of money in a first place for such a bad house ! It turned out great though! It is so weird that you guys think 1958 house is old haha! I live in the UK and I have lived in houses that were from 19th century and still were not considered old or historic haha!
This always gets me- no house here is old unless it's at least 100 years +. I've never lived in a house less than 70 years old!
The US tends to use lower quality materials that don’t last as long, hence “old”
@@AderuMoro you are missing the fact that the US is not that old to begin with when it comes to traditional housing.
It took a year to sell. They usually sell within 2-4months
@@jadebear0717 I thought they said it took a year to renovate it not that it took a year to sell it
I love the rational component you all added. Now everything makes sense
I prefer the exterior trim lighter than the main color of the house. I also prefer the front door to always match the shutters.
