If you don't see it as a racing sim.. but more like a racing game... what they are doing with the 3 is not that stupid. I mean to be honest.. most people don't see pCARS 2 as a "complete" racing sim. But to make it a better game they maybe do the right thing... the best games out there just use what they need from reaility.. fore some this is an evolution over trying to copy all aspects of reality. I felt the same way but I bought it at the early access price because I heard such good things about the first one. I was not to excited about the cars/tracks either but as I played the game I realized that it is actually really very good. They are planning on adding GT3 cars later. There are a few cars that I do really like to drive at the present time. But those few cars I usually end up driving a lot. For me, I don’t regret the purchase.

Cars still behave weird when you get to the limit. It's like there's an imaginary aid that stops the car from getting sideways, then if it does go sideways it looks really unnatural and like the car doesn't respond to the driver's inputs properly. You can easily see it's using the Project Cars physics engine. The car does a lot of weird movements that don't look natural at all.

I have the same problem with AMS2 as I had with ACC. Either the cockpit really moves up or down over hills and crests, or when I set world movement the other way I get extreme camera shake over bumbs (high speed camera speed is off) in stiff cars getting me very motion sick. For ACC I use the Real Head Movement app to counteract it. Is there a RHM app in the making for AMS2 or does anyone have good view settings for me that my cockpit stays more or less in the same place when going up or downhill and not shake so much over bumbs?
Honestly great video and good to see people playing aussie tracks as well. So it all means alot. Cheers. Fyi I also love kart kraft with the above equipment for the same reason.
A helpful review should let anyone watching make an informed decision on their potential purchase and you delivered that, and then some. Excellent content. For me, I'd love to own this game for the well thought out car classes but the elephant in the room here is no career mode or online rating system means it'll just become a lap practice mode for me. The game itself is also relatively well priced but the season pass makes it hefty. I'm on the edge and their next major update will secure my purchase I'm sure.
I bought early access around a month ago and looking forward to downloading the V1.0 Release! The platform seems truly exciting but right now, as someone else said, the track and car list seems so bare. I will definitely try some of the new tracks but I just wish it had some content I already enjoy from other sims
It's really not as bare as people make it out to be. It's just uncommon content, so our minds tend to overlook it. If you break down the list, there's actually quite a remarkable amount of cars in the game already!
@@Ermz that's a great point come to think of it.. Although it doesn't have tons and tons of content just yet, content that is included is very unique, which I guess is a USP... Be good to see more variety in DLC in the future so we can have both familiar content and these hidden gems most of us haven't had a chance to appreciate just yet.. I'd better get that download on now ;)
Excellent review really enjoyed it I’ve liked and subscribed I am definitely going to try Adelaide track and I know Bathurst is a hand full. Oculus Rift s with headphones on so real you can almost smell the rubber One thing look at Monaco the tunnel V10 the sound 😀😀😀😀
Was all of the content in this video included in the base game? I see the price for the game with all content is very expensive but if there is some decent content in the base game like the tracks and cars shown in this video that would be worth it for me.
Yrs ago there was a nascar Hall of famer that was chauffeured around the track at high speed and he couldn’t take it, he begged not to go another lap !!!
I haven't play ams2 since beta form. I did last night with 1.0 and wanted to do a championship. My issue is I don't know how to change vehicles for championships, and I don't know how to change the ai difficulty. Am I missing something?
What I love about this generation of gaming and developers, is that you find the non AAA sims are vastly superior in everyway compared to the ones that are being released by major studios. If I get a steering wheel, i'll have to give one these racing sims a go.
This game looks amazing... graphics, gameplay, effects etc... hoping it comes to console sooner than later or for the ps5 launch 2020 or early 2021. Great vid. Keep them coming,.. what’s night time and rain like in this game? Any future vid for that coming? ;)
It looks really good, but i don't know what was happening with the rear view mirror in the race. The sudden (and honestly annoying) blur is something i don't understand. Hopefully it gets changed
How well can you play it with a game pad? Unfortunately I have neither money, nor a table usable with ffb (at least I think so), so my only option is a pad.
great video, great review, i love this game the force feedback and the car handling are amazing, Now if we can just work out something regarding the DLC/Season pass LoL
Looks really promising. I'd say the only potential disappointment is in the sound/audio department. Anyone else think it sounds a bit last gen? Maybe I've just been spoiled by raceroom
ya its not raceroom for sure, it has potential though, not as bad as some say it is. It has a long ways to go imo, calling it a 1.0 seems a little bit ahead of itself.
Well I can confirm it's Raceroom lol. That game nails even the simplest sounds like tyre lockups. I've been going back and forth between these two sims. If ACC had better VR implementation, it would also be my go to sim.
ye, sound doesn't seem great. Raceroom is good, but i feel like people underestimate DR1 sound. It's a tough comparison because of the different car park, but when it comes down to, i think it beats everyone. The brilliance, the detail, the mix, especially low rev, is just a class in its own. Havent played Dr2 yet, but i fire Dr1 up just for the sound sometimes.
When you punted that Lotus 7 off the track, (assuming it was A.I.?) I saw no damage to your car or suspension. Was the damage turned off, or is it not much there in the game. Pretty important to me to have realistic damage as much as it is to have great force feedback. Saw a couple more car to car contacts in this video with NO visible damage. Is is turned off or not there? Dealbreaker for me.
Having said that the single player AI physics is somewhat arcade feel and unfinished. AI cars have too much grip, they constantly glued to the track. Noticed every collision with AI cars they simple continues driving off , you can hardly make them spin out of control. Simple no fun at all . You can keep crashing into them then continue to drive as if nothing happened.
Assetto Corsa 1 and AMS1 both let me configure everything about a race. I can mix and match as many different types and classes as I want. I could, if I wanted, have Formula Truck, SuperCart, F1, GT3, and road cars from the sixties all on the track at the same time. My favorite feature of those two sims. I love "what if". Please tell me AMS2 will let me. It's the only thing that I gotta know before I buy. Thanks for the video, Ermin!
Hi Mate, nice work on the video. Encouraged me to give AMS 2 a go after a bad experience with AMS 1. Could you please share your wheel FFB and in-game settings for your DD1? I'm experiencing pretty vague FFB on and around centre. Cheers!
Thanks for this review Ermin, great video. I bought rfactor 2 and lots of content over the weekend mainly from your videos but also since its the only sim i did not own previously. I fear AMS2 will suck up all my simracing time.I spent a lot of time in early access and had a blast, so far in 1.0 its been absolutely phenomenal.
While the FFB is great, I still don't think I feel as connected to the road as I do with RF2 and AMS1. It still feels a bit ... "floaty" ... for lack of a better word. I hope they can get it there, but I'm wondering if it has something to do with the engine. Thoughts? Do you agree?

A helpful review should let anyone watching make an informed decision on their potential purchase and you delivered that, and then some. Excellent content. For me, I'd love to own this game for the well thought out car classes but the elephant in the room here is no career mode or online rating system means it'll just become a lap practice mode for me. The game itself is also relatively well priced but the season pass makes it hefty. I'm on the edge and their next major update will secure my purchase I'm sure.
Car racing in the Southern Hemisphere is underrated. Another positive of the game is the simplicity and intuitiveness of the user interface.
Cute dog!!!!
I'd better get that download on now ;)
Aye I immediately picked up that NFS High Stakes menu music in the beginning
Jumping back into this game immediately after watching this. Got me real excited haha.
tbf i have no issue with the release content, switches it up a bit and then gets me super hyped for the new stuff coming, and keeps me playing imo
That Adelaide circuit looks amazing
Playing for the first time tonight on pc. With sim setup
I buy it because of your review :) . Txz for sharing your experience :)
Nice review and racing Ermin... Reiza will work on the AI as that is just the way they are.
Excellent review really enjoyed it I’ve liked and subscribed
I am definitely going to try Adelaide track and I know Bathurst is a hand full. Oculus Rift s with headphones on so real you can almost smell the rubber
One thing look at Monaco the tunnel V10 the sound 😀😀😀😀
Was all of the content in this video included in the base game? I see the price for the game with all content is very expensive but if there is some decent content in the base game like the tracks and cars shown in this video that would be worth it for me.
did u just call me legend? :O ^^ what a nice welcome
Nice review!
This game looks amazing... graphics, gameplay, effects etc... hoping it comes to console sooner than later or for the ps5 launch 2020 or early 2021. Great vid. Keep them coming,.. what’s night time and rain like in this game? Any future vid for that coming? ;)
7.35Of the nostalgia of that music gives me shivers
Very good and well-rounded review. This makes me wanna try out the game quite a lot. Thanks Ermin. What the song on 7:46
It looks really good, but i don't know what was happening with the rear view mirror in the race. The sudden (and honestly annoying) blur is something i don't understand. Hopefully it gets changed
old nfs sountrack in background. Nice :)
That Bathhurst lap looked so much fun.
Bathurst ;)
@@2ndLastJedi Typo, Aussie here. :)
it´s basically Project Cars 2 but focusing on Brazilian tracks and cars and its not shy about it.
Lord Park III yeah acc is the only sim i dont play in vr :(
ye, sound doesn't seem great. Raceroom is good, but i feel like people underestimate DR1 sound. It's a tough comparison because of the different car park, but when it comes down to, i think it beats everyone. The brilliance, the detail, the mix, especially low rev, is just a class in its own. Havent played Dr2 yet, but i fire Dr1 up just for the sound sometimes.

that music in the background tho..
it brought back memories
EDIT

more nostalgia
What about the damage model? How is it?
There is definitely damage, and the performance impact is brutal. Touch a wall in an open wheeler, race is done buddy. Damage is off by default.
Thanks for the video, Ermin!
yes you can configure multiclass racing!
Awesome! Thank you so much.
What do I buy for the best simulator experience? AMS 2 or Rfactor 2?
rFactor 2
Thanks mate. I’ve been using PC 2 for the last couple of years. Would you put Rfactor 2 ahead of PC 2?
I have an Oculus CV1 I can tell you compared even to PCARS 1 and 2 AMS VR is just awesome!
While the FFB is great, I still don't think I feel as connected to the road as I do with RF2 and AMS1. It still feels a bit ... "floaty" ... for lack of a better word. I hope they can get it there, but I'm wondering if it has something to do with the engine. Thoughts? Do you agree?
