Feraligator in HG/SS has really good moves with Crunch and Ice Fang early on, gets superpower later and its waterfall destroys a lot. It's not as bad as many people think
It still has the same problem as every water starter with the exception of Swampert(who's the best starter for a gen 3 nuzlocke since only one trainer threatens him really), there's just plenty water types available and several much better, especially in the remakes with gyarados really being able to shine and being guaranteed with the shiny one.
@@valen9835 shiny gyarados exists in the original johto.
Everyone forgets he learns ice punch
@@---oq5kb It exists, but it's before the physical/special split, so it's not as OP as it is in Gen 4.
Yeah. But unfortunately, he was talking about the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal where it doesn't get Ice Fang, on top of Water and Dark moves using its slightly weaker Special Attack stat instead of its Attack stat.
Scizor actualy learns bullet punch at level 1. So either get it as a starter if randomizer or just get a heart scale. And bugbite and arial ace become 90 power each as physical moves. Dont even get me started on dual wing beat. Imagine a brave bird without recoil, thats what it is equivilant to
Actually with STAB they become 135.
Dual wing beat is good but you can only get it from a move tutor in the Isle of Armor so it is not an option for most games
@@gravyhero1 And the one game it gets dual wingbeat is a game that isn't even worth a conventional Nuzlocke due to how easy it is
I used a Scizor in HGSS, actually was just broken and strait my mvp
Dual Wingbeat has 40 base power hitting twice, it is not the same as a Brave Bird.
I love how the unknown sprite was the "F" unknown. It was destiny.
Its the funny pokemons unu
unown*
Should’ve been L
He completely got me with the “unown” 😂
Destiny would suggest it was a coincidence rather than a choice. Pretty sure he picked the F out intentionally
I played with a Scizor , bullet punch didn't require egg in HGSS and it was absolutely my mvp. Technician and some sworddance set up was disgusting
The dismissal of Dunsparce breaks my heart. Fun fact, Dunsparce is the only pokemon that can naturally learn Roost by level up and is not a flying type. Which means that the "downside" of the move literally isn't one when you're using it with the derpy little guy.
It's more of an upside than a downside against the AI, no? Since they'll try to hit you with moves you're weak to as a Flying-type that'll then become neutrally-effective (or worse) after you've roosted.
@@athath2010 AI yes it's good but against a person or even an AI that reacts to your moves like in the older gens, not so much. If you have something like Zapdos or Moltres use Roost and they use EQ, it's lights out
ikr, Serene Grace + Headbutt, Glare, Defense Curl, Base 100 HP and base 70 Att and Def? yes it's slow but that doesn't matter when it's hard to kill.
It can also be an upside to get rid of some weaknesses for a turn
How is not being a Flying type anymore for 1 turn after using Roost a "downside" tho? Isn't that a good thing for an incomming Rock Slide as a Pidgeot using Roost for example?
Lanturn really is good. He’s been blowing up in ADV OU here lately.
True, his great typing and only two weaknesses are what make him awesome.
LANTURN
Actually Thats Interesting
The ADV OU Lanturn squad is here !
@@ZokProf Oh It's Now OU?
umbreon I get the thought process behind it being quite conditional but every single time I have used an umbreon it has felt crazy and getting it in a few games and it being amazing everytime I'd chuck that bad boi in A tier. I don't even have a bias to its design if I could use my fav eeveelution it'd be leafeon everytime.
I've had the opposite experience with umbreon lol. Every time i try and give it a shot it is incredibly underwhelming. It has decent pvp utility but in pve it is not a very good dark type nor is it a very good eeveelution. Most useful ive ever had it was toxic stalling and there are so many pokemon that can pull that off that its really not a particularly coveted niche. Vaporeon is the most useful in pve from my experience due to great bulk with decent offensive capability, moveset, and speed. Jolteon sould be next for typing and great offense but frail af and ive had many die on me before they get good electric type moves lol. Espeon is very good but the games are already abundant with very good psychic types tbh. Leafeon is an awesome design but honestly not good moveset, especially for a grass type. Glaceon is not too bad on paper but is ice type. Never used sylveon but i assume its great.
Point being umbreon is rarely the best thing to evolve your eevee into
I've never used one personally but everytime I fight one its annoying as heck its bulky and has alot of status moves
@@x54xHantamachine
Umbreon is a bit weird in that it's a great wall with an interesting typing to use defensively, but it hits like a wet noodle so it's overly reliant on Toxic to a rather boring extent.
@@x54xHantamachine honestly, Umbreon is probably consistently the best eeveelution behind Sylveon and maybe vaporeon
@Pott Rott I kinda disagree, I’m playing thru Black2 rn and he helped tank a lot of hits from opponents while I healed up other members of my team. Having charm also helped w set up strats against physical attackers.
I think Ursaring deserves to be low A tier, because guts STAB facade with 130 base atk one-shots anything that isn't ghost, rock, steel or an insanely physically defensive wall like cloyster. Its just held back by its well below average speed.
Bellossom is my favorite Pokemon and watching it go from F to low C made me happy
What a mood.
The same, like, we know it's bad, but... Hurt to see on F.
In first ever nuzlocke my bellosom was carring hard killing juan and wallace basically alone
Stantler underrated imo. Has a great movepool and can pull off a mixed attacking set. So good for filling in blanks on teams since it's rather versatile. Stab return, t-wave, hypnosis, eq via tm, dream eater if you're using hypnosis, great shadow ball user (especially in early gens) since it can safely switch in on ghosts. Wild charge in later gens. Intimidate of course. List goes on. I tend to find both it and Girafarig are very slept on. Both very versatile.
I've also used serene grace Dunsparce in an HG nuzlocke before and while it's not nearly as good as stantler, i do think it's underrated. T-wave/headbutt with serene grace is not to be slept on, and morty becomes pretty much a walk in the park with it. Definitely trails off end game, but it is very usable in early/mid. Hustle is pretty bad until it gets coil in later generations (where it hardly makes an appearance anyways unfortunately). Still underrated
A lot of fairy types suffer from the same issue that Donphan suffers from. There is not physical type fairy move other than play rough, so if you want to use a mega mawile in gen 6 or a mimikyu or a galarian rapidash you have to stick with moves like fairy wind until your 40’s in terms of levels( rapidash doesn’t even get play rough by level up)
Like really.. Special Fairies get Fairy Wind, Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast, all pretty good 100% accuracy moves.. Play Rough is a Moonblast that can miss and doesn't lower Attack, and you get it super late by level up
I think the reason why is because there aren't many physical fairies other than the ones you named, but hopefully in future generations we'll get more physical fairy moves.
@@WolfyGamer99 Xerneas has usable physical attack and Swords Dance?, granbull, Slurpuff and Clefable get Belly Drum and have usable Attack and good Physical movepools, Grimmsnarl is a Physical Fairy as well (tho it's signature move is better than Play Rough imo) .... Physical Fairy types should have a mid-term move with like 60 power because Play Rough is soooo late in their movesets.. Also Play Rough not being 100% accuracy suuucks.. Lost quite some battles in Showdown for Play Rough misses 😂
My boi Luxray has the same problem, if it had an eletric physical move with like 80-95 power would be one of the best eletric types ever
@@thedancingguy828The Electric, Fire and Fairy types are horribly unbalanced in regards to Physical moves.. They are either not as good (being weaker or Innacurate) as the Special ones that are available for the type and the better ones are either signature moves or not too widely available to Pokemon that would love to get them.... The worst offeender is Fairy with only Play Rough as a Physical move besides Grimmsnarl's signature
Azumarill is honestly amazing from gen 3 onwards. If its huge power you can basically just win the game if you ev train it. It can ace some key battles with a single use of Rollout.
Azumarill also in fast exp. group, honestly broken as early as gen 3

@@marcogypaetus9607 u right i thought it was the other way around for some rzn
and when azumarill got the fairy type in gen 6 it was just broken beyond repair
I'll never forget my Noctowl in HG/SS. That bird carried my team all the time!
Miltank (with "scrappy"tho) and its fast, bulky and give it rollout and milk drink! free pass on ghost pokes, can heal team for less potion use, stab headbut or body slam flinch or para hacks. Very underrated poke im my eyes especialy in nuzlocks.
Anyone who underestimates Miltank clearly hasn't faced Whitney nearly enough.
Underrated along with girafarig and stantler imo
This man doesn't know the power of Dunsparce, the one true God.
Amen
I think that spot is where slakoth is, I think dunsparce is one of his angels
This but unironically
@@x54xHantamachine I actually wasn't being ironic either. :D
@Geisel Matches Dunsparce sees no other gods.
Because Dunsparce's eyes are closed.
BUT IF THEY WERE OPEN THOSE EYES WOULD SEE NO OTHER GODS.
In Johto Heracross is actually not that hard to come across. You get it via Headbutt and between Azalea town and the Route to the East, it is almost a guaranteed encounter (Spearow is a gift so can be duped out)
Yeah you can get a guaranteed heracross which I will be doing.
Murkrow broke my heart. Its very bad in gen 2 but bro it has prankster. Its also my 2nd favorite mon so im super biased but i love prankrow shenanigans
It's a god in hgss thanks to its evolution.
I think Umbreon is actually really good for Nuzlockes, at least pre gen 6. Its insanely high defenses make it a good Pokemon to have in front of your team if you don't know what you're up against. Its offensive stats are low, but with physical Dark moves in later gens, that doesn't matter as much since most Ghost and Psychic types have low Defense. In gen 2, despite a garbage set before Kanto, it's still useful since its weaknesses are rarely used (and there weren't many good Fighting or Bug moves anyway).
Girafarig might be underrated. It completely walls Morty minus Curse strats. Its offense is decent. I think it's good mid-game.
Electabuzz is underrated imo, more so in gen 2 though. It learns ALL the elemental punches and Psychic. You honestly get it too late though, unless you luck out with the mystery egg in Crystal. Oh, and it can learn Psychic. It's basically a weaker Kadabra.
Feraligatr is actually pretty good. It gets good coverage with Ice Punch and Earthquake. In HGSS you can teach it Swords Dance, which is always nice. I actually think it's a bit better than Blastoise, since there aren't many other Water types with that coverage (I think only Dragon Dance Gyarados, which is definitely better). I think all the gen 2 starters are good. Typhlosion is ludicriously good in HGSS because you get access to Flamethrower and Fire Blast before the third gym. Oh, and you can give it Choice Specs too. It doesn't have much variety in moves, but it doesn't really need it.
I agree with your take on Umbreon. I remember how much of a crap Pokemon I "thought" it was in Gen 2.
But replaying the Pokemon games and adding certain rules, I'd take Umbreon over Espeon anytime. Especially if it's a Nuzlocke.
Girafarig great point.
For Electabuzz I did not know all that. When you say "basically a weaker Kadabra" do you mean just using Psychic in general? Or Electabuzz overall compared to Kadabra? What you just described is I'll take an Electabuzz over Kadabra if it's a Nuzlocke.
>Feraligatr is actually pretty good.
For a starter I would rather pick Typhlosion in Nuzlocke rules. Point is because of Lapras/Gyrados/Lanturn/Vaporeon.
@@FuDDEX420 Electabuzz and Kadabra can have the same set in gen 2: 3 elemental punches (although Electabuzz gets Thunderbolt) and Psychic (although Electabuzz has to wait until Kanto for that). Kadabra is honestly better; it's faster and with higher Special Attack, although it has even less bulk. It doesn't generally *need* the bulk because it OHKOs most things.
Agreed on the Water types; I prefer Lapras or Gyarados for sure. Feraligatr is still a good choice though, and has no gym weaknesses at all in Johto, aside from Magnemite (hopefully you have something else to deal with those at that time) and Dragonair's Thunderbolt. I actually have better luck with Meganium for some reason. I do think Typhlosion is the best, although it's the worst against Clair.
@Pott Rott
He explains it in the first minute of the video.
If you are playing a nuzlocke, no items in battle, level cap, there are better water Pokemon in Generation 2 than Totodile.
Im currently doing my first nuzlocke (doing SoulSilver)
Bugsy ATE my team, but i found a good mon that could take out that mighty Scyther... Dunsparce! (of all pokemon!)
I used Defense curl and Rollout combo. I could set up some defense againts Kakuna/Metapod, and then trigger some turns for rollout to swipe.
This strategy worked very well againts Whitney, as Dunsparce single handedly took out Clefairy+Miltank.
Im on my 15th badge right now, and has never dissapointed me with serene grace+headbutt+glare combo, and it naturally get roost. I think the little guy deserves some love... (C tier?).
Yes he got rly great learnset aswell i had a serene grace ancient power dunsparce in a rom hack(he was not buffed but still he was helpful af)
Gen 3 Defensive Thick Fat Azumarill owns Flannery and is pretty useful all around if you don't pick Mudkip, but it definitely loses relevance late game and devolves into an HM slave
I'm scared of your profile picture where can I get it?
@@theonlyshinyumbreon If you image search "dank mudkip" you should be able to find it pretty quickly
I like how Kingdra ended up next to Dragonite, while Seadra got a spot below Magcargo even though it's nearly identical to Kingdra, save for the dragon typing and special def.
yeah besides its redeeming qualities its absolute trash. dumb.
Magcargo is slow and takes quad damage from Ground and Water moves, so using it's not exactly easy. It also evolves from Slugma (a terrible Pokémon) rather late and, in Gen II, it's also not available until the postgame.
Think that due to the dragon type Kingdra has no weakness except to dragon and fairy, and there are 5 gens where Fairy doesn't exist.
Kingdra also learns ice beam and blizzard, so most of the dangerous dragons can get oneshoot by it
Girafarig kinda destroys the ghost gym, but it falls off so quickly, used one on a playthrough and ended up replacing it
You can't get Girafarig in Gen 2 until after you get Surf though
@@maninthetrenchcoat5603Yes, you can if you go through Mt Mortar to Mahogany Town.
Ledian gets screens lvl14, baton pass lvl24, swords dance (TM75) , and agility lvl36 (HGSS). He's very underated imo and can even be usefull in the late game
Feraligatr and Totodile are good for so many reasons in GSC I don't understand how you don't see any use for it. Totodile can beat every single battle without items up until Ecruteak City with zero optional battles whatsoever from Lv 5. No other Pokemon can do that. That pretty much makes it as good as Typhlosion at that point which is stuck relying on Flame Wheel and Fire Punch.
I think it’s at least partially because all the water types are just so good. I mean they just hand you a Gyarados! Free of charge. Quagsire isn’t hard to come by, the event lapras makes Lance look like a joke, they’re all good but when all of them are good they all kind of look average.
Personally I usually choose Totodile just because between that and the event Gyarados I can have all the water HM’s spread across 2 mons rather than shove them all into one and cram its move set with one type.
Like In my current HG file my Feraligatr has surf so I could free up a move slot on Gyarados to have it know both earthquake and avalanche, along with waterfall and... oh god what’s its last slot I can’t remember. I was legit playing earlier today why can’t I remember??? Point is the only thing my Gyarados shouldn’t switch in on is an electric type that out speeds it, cause it wrecks house if it gets a single hit in and he’s my baby and I love him 💜💜💜💜
He doesnt play official/base games, only hard hacks. I think he should mention that this is influencing his decisions.
pokemon silver was the first game I had on my GBC years ago, I thought the pokemon were cool and useful. After watching this I've realized that was all a lie and the gen is almost useless.. lol
My HG slowpoke just died to a pursuit I didn’t know the opponent had. RIP Gumby you will be missed :(
I'm really happy lil' Wobbuffet is given due credit for being quite good
In Sword and Shield it's an easy S you can kill a Gigantimax Pokémon for free
I’m a big ol’ fan of Adamant Guts Ursaring with Facade.
Make it hold a Toxic Orb, use Protect the first round, Poison and Guts kick in, wreck house with Facade.
@@cgdavidson You mean Flame Orb? Toxic Orb is inferior to 6% with no ATK decrease
@@Budew-ef6tr does it not decrease ATK when burned by the Flame Orb? If that's the case, then absolutely, that's the better option.
@@Budew-ef6tr thanks for that! Good looking out, my Budew-y Bro.
@@cgdavidson Of course! I'll always help a amigo out!
Hey @PokemonChallenges you're one of my favorite youtubers, I love your mathematic and encyclopedic knowledge of pokemon! Do you ever consider smogon mega stuff or just solo type pokemon?
I do think there is a reason to pick Feraligatr. And that reasons is my interest since I was six:
HUGE ALLIGATOR.
A lot of people thought Skarmory is Gen 3. I knew. But I thought Lanturn was Gen 3.
I tiught it too i don't know why i even plsyed gold and silver when i was a kid
@@Ghost0fDeath1 I think that was because Skarmory was a lot more prominent in gen 3 than it as in gen 2.
Skarmory is a very prominent encounter in the Dusty route in Hoenn. As well as it being the leading Pokémon of Champion Steven.
We al remember the Toxic's this thing spread on our mons.
I used to think magcargo was gen 3
so many gen 2 pokemon only became relevant in gen 3, really bad distribution in johto
"Very ok" "so niche" "so bad"
Wobbufet eats Claires Kingdra in Stadium 2(rentals)
Top tier
I think that Girafarig had a very Powerful Niche.
It learns Baton Pass + Agility, and possibly CM. For Late game can win you Elite 4 Fight because IA can't deal with BP Strategies.
@@iconictrash6023 baton pass
Suicune isn't just super late-game in HGSS.
It's post-game. You have to find it in Kanto, and it's still level 40.
Ariados with sniper imo is pretty useful, learns shadowsneak at 19 and evoles at 22 plus can learn dig which is great for making AI waste a move, idk I think he should be ranked a bit higher?
Bullet Punch isn't an egg move. Can be learned by move reminder and gets upon evo. It can't have it as an egg move.
Shuckle is op for nuzelocke you can stall with rest and can prevent your better Pokemon from dying since it has insane defense stats.
NUZLOCKE IS NOT SPELLED WITH 2 E'S!
In Jotho games skarmory destroyes the elite four, steel resisting dark, ghost and Psychic is 100% busted
THE H IN JOHTO SHOULD BE BEFORE THE T, NOT AFTER THE T! AND DESTROYS IS NOT SPELLED WITH 2 E'S!
@@Amelia4111 Oh great. You again.
Clicked on the first video of yours that popped up in my feed. Trying to confirm that Crits do not bypass damage-reducing berries before finalizing my E4 strategy for Bruno. Also no joke, Lanturn and Quagsire are literally carrying my run right now.
8:29 And that's how TTar beat the insurgence nuzlocke
Dunsparce is awesome bro, I had it on my team as a meme mon throughout a Black 2 locke and all of my team members died except for it during my elite 4 challenge so I pumped it with all of my rare candies and swept the rest of the bosses with coil + return, drill run, and wild charge
@Pott Rott I'm not surprised considering how overlevelled that is lmao
Feraligatr is broken in hgss it has really good coverage and evolves super early you get it at level 30
And it's a god HM slave
Feraligatr is a titan.
It makes the other starters look like piss ants dude. Waterfall ice punch/fang/ dragon dance/ crunch/superpower. It absolutely fucks up claire, destroys lance in e4, rivals meganium is garbage anyways, overall feraligatr makes everything it’s bitch, just set up ddance and you can sweep everything and anything...
@@itzsquishy3712 i don’t think you get d dance but regardless your right gatr just shits on both johto and kanto
Fuck yeah he is. Waterfall/Aqua Tail, Earthquake, Ice Punch* & Crunch. You can cover more and hit harder with Superpower but I don't care for the stat decrease.
Jan: uploads a stream I watched
Me: It’s even better the second time!
Pretty decent tier list but there's two things that I disagree on:
1: I think misdreavus is not F tire Worthy. It would be below or around sneasel's ranking. And here's why
It's pretty decent In hgss because you can get it right before Chuck and can easily wall his entire team and gym as a whole, and if you're ranking sneasel just for Will's fight alone then it's a bit hypocritical not to do the same for chuck.
though it's takes a while before you can get a dusk stone in hgss so that is a bit dampening, and if you're playing Colosseum with partial nuzlocke rules it is fantastic throughout that game with synergies with double battles. And is already considered one of the best Pokemon in that game's meta.
(IDK if there is any eviolite strategies in gen 5 and onwards?) And In pearl it's okayish while you wait to get a desk Stone
And do you really think Togetic is worse than Farfetch'd when if you're playing a johoto game you'll guarantee have a To have one on your team while Farfetch'd you have to go out of your way or be unlucky with your route encounter to obtain?
I think everything else is pretty on point but those two stuck out to me.
"In hgss because you can get it right before Chuck and can easily wall his entire team and gym as a whole"
He doesnt really play canon/official games. So no cheesing of entire gym fights is taken into account here.
@@mars.unreal that’s why his opinion is sort of hard to go with, because he trashed on moms that are able to be used just because he can’t use them in his rom hacks.. either way no one would come out happy when he shits on some favourites lol
@@mars.unrealNot to mention you can't wall Chuck in HeartGold and SoulSilver because Primeape gets Rock Slide and Poliwrath gets Surf. So either way Misdreavus is getting hit hard there.
Forretress gets bug bite early on even as Pineco which can eat gym leader Sitrus berries and does decent damage, But Steelix gets stab EQ so it has more of a direct offensive presence.
Forretress gets toxic spikes with heart scale tutor which is pretty decent.
In HGSS you can buy dual screens for Forretress at the Goldenrod department store.
Against pokemon with fire and ground or fire and fighting moves, Foretress will always bait fire from opponents while Steelix might bait a type you don't want.
Forretress has higher attack than Steelix but just barely.
Basically Forretress has got to be at least as good a Steelix overall imho...
I disagree with your assessment of shuckle
Provided you are committed to longer battles it's consistently safe to switch in and stall 90% of the time, and I'm not familiar with its pre gen 5 learnset but after that, it's actually pretty decent, power split when you get it will often allow it to actually kill things while maintaining its stupid high defence
For Nuzlockes I consider it an easy A tier given its raw consistency and with emulator speed up the extra time battles take isn't an issue (I've used it in about 3 separate Nuzlockes and it never died on me once)
Mr incredible : pro nuzlocker is pro nuzlocker
Twin man man : i know
I’m not the best when it comes to which Pokémon is better than others, and I was still confused when you said unknown was a tier for a sec
When they make a Johto game again they need to buff:
Jumpluff
Noctowl
Stantler
noctowl has seen some improvement in more recent gens but still not enough
Probably been pointed out by every commenter already, but the people in Twitch chat telling you Bullet Punch was an egg move on Scizor are wrong. It's a level 1 move, so you just need a Heart Scale
Seeing Feraligatr called garbage as my favorite starter :( understandable though
ikr
Nah Feraligatr gets sheer force and has an amazing moveset it’s far better than lanturn he just ranked it low because water types are common and because he factored in that the special physical split wasn’t until gen 4 which is dumb
@@Scruffy3870 ok I'm a big totodile line fan but theres no way it's better than lanturn. Volt absorb for free hp after pivots and slow volt switches for damage as well as decent defences make lanturn better imo.
@@deccs6548 Feraligatr has overall better damage and a really good level up moveset plus laturn is quite difficult to get and is usually obtained later on into the game plus volt absorb isnt a guarantee since only 50% have volt absorb and volt switch wasn’t introduced until gen 5
All of Feraligatrs stats besides HP are higher than lanturns too
The main reason it was probably ranked lower was because it’s a water type starter not because it’s actually weak
@@Scruffy3870 the same way that only 50% of lanturns get VA, sheer force gatr is incredibly rare since it's a HA. And yes while feraligatr does more damage, lanturn has a better typing and is special which is great pre gen 4. Coupled with volt absorb/water absorb (its hidden ability) giving it free switch ins to two prevalent types in many games just makes it better imo, even without volt switching. Then again, this is my opinion and you did bring up some good points about feraligatr, I just think being a bulky dual type with more resists makes lanturn slightly better..
You're sleeping on Politoad, got him as my starter in my first nuzlocke and he carried half the team Perish Song, Muddy Water, hypnosis and ice beam.
I agree you absolute Chad, I played gen 1 nuzlocke myself and got muk with sleep, toxic, acid armor, minimize.
There is no A in Politoed!
Bro the octillery disrespect is unreal, solid bulk, decent spatk/atk, and an insanely deep movepool, I use that thing all the time
I love the way Jan pronounces pokemon names
Watching this after EK is amazing
Dunsparce in early hgss sweeps the first four gyms and provides early sleep and para with a massive early game hp pool and stab headbutt. Unironically the best early game encounter
If you're talking about gen 2 then Feraligatr is cheeks. If you're talking gen 4; it hits like a fucking truck, has good bulk, isn't the slowest thing in the world, has good coverage, and isn't a fat rabbit.
Typhlosion,Ampharos,Heracross,Lugia,Steelix,Celebi,Entei,Suicune,Raikou,Umbreon and Espeon are my favorite Gen 2 Pokémon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A while back I used an Eeveelution Baton Pass team to take on Ultra Necrozma. My game plan was to give Umbreon a couple Roto Boosts so it wouldn't be in danger of dying to Dragon Pulse, then nerf its SpAtk with a few Snarls so that Espeon could set up Calm Minds on it. I wound up ditching that plan after seeing that its +2 STAB Snarl was a 3-hit KO, and just soloed Ultra Necrozma with it.
I think if you got Magcargo around level 25, it’d be a lot better
Yes, and if you could catch Slugma in the Burned Tower rather than in Gen II's postgame.
I think that shuckle receiving both sticky web and stealth rock is really overlooked. Having both of those on a defensive pokémon makes it really great as a lead, especially vs flying gyms or bug gyms. Slap on rock slide and toxic, and it’s actually pretty usable; high B-tier. Of course it’s power scales with the number of Pokémon that your opponent has, so it’s pretty bad early-mid game, but it’s really worth for the elite four, for example.
It’s good enough to have been used in gen 7 anything goes, for fucks sake.
Boi did politaod dirty
Yay! Houndoom's my favorite mon! So happy to see it highly rated haha.
In my casual nuzlocke's I straight up cheat and pretend he doesn't get KO'd if, you know... he gets KO'd.
I still quote 15:22 on a daily basis in a variety of contexts. It's such a good line
13:01 You can only get Sneasel before Will in Crystal. In Gold and Silver, it's locked to Mt Silver.
I'm interested to know how these change with randomizers, especially pokemon like Feraligator.
Bruh Feraligatr is maybe the most efficient pokemon in a GSC playthrough?
He doesnt play official games. Hes pretty underwhelming when playing harder roms.
Not in GSC, but def in HG/SS. He gets baller physical moves.
bug stone ground were completly forgotten till gen 4 in case of usefull moves without tm
"Never mind, fuck Piloswine."
Lmao
Revisiting the tier list, that murkrow stonks going up a lot lately
the fact that all your chat didn't tell you that Suicune is a story line stationary legendary in HGSS just like in Crystal was sad to me. but I loved the video
I’m a bit surprised that charizard and typhlosion are that far apart just for pflying type
Girafarig is definitely a bit underrated, in the gen 2 games at least. Immune to ghost while still being able to hit back gengar and haunter with stab psychic is good, can completely walls Will and can hit hard with shadow ball. Koga can be tricky with the bug types but I don't think they have any great bug moves to hit girafarig. Bruno isn't too bad even with neutral fighting damage since girafarig can outspeed everyone except his hitmonlee. Walls Sabrina and destroys her with Shadow ball. It's not the best, I'm sure other pokemon can do what it does better, it's just underrated imo. In the other games i have no idea, this is just gen 2.
Uhhhhhhh this channel is uhhhhhh amazing
Wobbafett countered freaking Giratina in the Anime, fear the Wobbafett!
Awesome lists! Would be great to have a text version to more easily look at.
When u gonna do gen 3
Wobbefett is incredible is Sword and Shield
alright Dunsparce is NOT an F tier, it's really bulky and has good STAB moves. Also gets Glare for speed control+Paralysis.
In gen 3, Azu shits on over half the gyms, huge power or not. Send it out, defense curl + rollout and you sweep basically 6/8 gyms.
If it's huge power then you can do the same thing to multiple E4 members.
Look at the other 'bad' Pokémon from Gen 1 & 2 that got some love in the form of regionals and new evos. When we compare Ledian to them, I have full confidence in something huge coming for it. It just makes sense to have something like a fighting regional form...or final evolution that solidifies it's role.
Been in my thoughts for a while - I seriously think its in the works. Especially now that pokemon like Dunsparce and Forretress got some help! 😁
Politaod and kingdra da manz
Is it weird that watching these really makes me want to try and do an F-Tier nuzlocke? Like HGSS, no dupes, maybe route restriction removed, but only allowed to catch what PC ranks as F-tier. No evolving above them either so no Ambipom/Honchkrow/Steelix/etc. Just seems like an interesting way to force some VERY tight team crafting.
if you can somehow manage to get ice fang before the first gym in HG/SS, Crocanaw is the best starter for the first two gyms. Then again, raising any of your pokemon up to level 21 before the first gym will sweep them all anyway lol.
Sad Piloswine noises
After this video the F tier Will be full I feel that
Quaggy Boi Approves
Mantine is A tier and I’m tired of pretending it’s not, water type blissey
Azumarill is way to good that he didn't even know where to put it
Poliwrath is ma boi. Maybe not for PvP but his stats are buff for a regular playthrough
Ye. Marcargo and Coalossal...destroyed by two of the most common non-normal typings.
Scizor should be in S tier cause I used one in a hg/ss playthrough and it destroyed everything with technician bullet punch+swordsdance and even destroyed red ohko'ing every mon except charizard
Dragon Roost Island
Nice, very nice.
Putting that Stantler above my boy Azumarill broke my heart D;
Dude Umbreon with Foul Play is spicy
Hey, Smeargle with Spore, Belly Drum, Baton Pass and especially Explosion makes this Pokémon the ultimate destroyer even for rock and steel types but ok, admittedly, in Nuzlockes using Explosion is not the best idea.
Good luck trying to sketch these moves
Can you make a video explaining EVs and IVs please
1:08 HE CAN WALK!
