Torterra would probably have been so much more loved if not for Garchomp just existing. Poor lad just couldn't keep up with the funny land shark. Not to mention STAB Shock Wave shuts down all of Barry's Staravia Double Team shenanigans that I used to cower before as a kid. Levitate is the icing on the cake, removing it's Ground weakness and making it pair well in doubles with every earthquake user in the game. Just, er, until you get to Wake, and most of his Mon have Dark moves, and you probably won't be able to outspeed his Floatzel. Also Gallade slaps and I've only recently found that out for some reason
I've no clue why im watching this at 1 in the am. I haven't played any pokemon games and the only pokemon content i've watched are jaidens nuzlocke stuff
Lopunny is a really good Pokémon in early game. You do have to play around the 50% chance of Klutz and 33% chance of being level 13 in Platinum (thanks a lot, devs,) but if you do, you can evolve it into Lopunny right away, and it'll get Return at level 13 with at least 220 Friendship. That means that it will have 80 base power STAB out of the gate at level 13. For early game, it actually has pretty good stats. 76 Attack at this point is usable, its bulk is decent, and it will outspeed everything else. You can get Buneary before the third Gym in Black 2, but this is a lot worse since you'll need the Return TM to give it Return. But then in USUM, you can find it on Route 1 before you even do the second fight with Hau, and now you don't have to worry about when you evolve it, because it automatically gets Return on evolving. You can use it to nuke the early game of USUM and it'll keep performing about up until the trip to the Aether Foundation on its own. It also gets both Baton Pass and Agility, so that's something.
I think Lickilicky is A tier, because it has nice bulk and decent offense. He can be used as special or physical attacker, mixed, or tank, and has access to many support moves.
Simple Rotom,Simlpy because of the triple immunity(ground, normal, fighting), acess to baton pass/nasty plot/willowish etc etc and the fact that is a staple encounter if played properly, should be high A tier, atleast ingen 4 games.
Honestly sad to see Wormadam Trash cloak so low, but its understandable. But that steel bug typing is amazing for some early fights if you take the time to train it up (if I get it I usually get it to wormadam at Eterna gym). It can be used against Gardenia's entire team, and hard blocks Roserade who can't do more than 6 damage. Can be used against Jupiter's Skuntank to tank the big hits, (I used a intimidate switch Wormadam tactic so Wormadam would tank hits). But after that is done it kinda wears off like most early bugs, as it's metal move comes very late, and the next gyms aren't kind to it, even Maylene dispite it getting psybeam. But in that eterna section its really niche but good.
I feel like none of the pseudo legendarys should be banned because the whole point of them is grinding them until they are fully evolved, which usually happens right before the elite 4. So if you can keep that Pokémon alive until then, you deserve to have it. Same goes for gyarados or other Pokémon like that.
Well, unless you use Rare Candies like PC does, where you'll likely just keep it in the box until the level cap allows you to level it up to that point and actually use it.
Did my very first nuzzlocke before finding this channel. I used items (badly), didn't pivot, played on switch mode, and even used palkia. Gonna go again on set mode, cap items at 3 per battle, try and pivot more, and I won't use palkia. (If I get garchomp though i might use it. Cynthia's is so scary)
@@lunarmathemagics7881 you'll need to catch a female Snorunt and use a Dawn Stone. Not a guaranteed encounter by any means, I think it is like 10% in route 216 and 20% in 217 and acuity lakefront, only at night, so that's an issue. But if you find it, it is worthy
I would argue that Lopunny has a bit more use than you let on. It may not have incredible stats, but it's a great baton passer. For a nuzlocke I did, I used one in combination with my Raichu. Defense curl a bunch, then switch into Nasty Plot thunderbolt Raichu. It's perfect. Made Raichu hold the wide lens, allowing Sweet Kiss to become useful and iron tail nice for type coverage. One of my favorite combinations I've ever had in a playthrough before. I did lose Lopunny accidentally in the fight against Candice though. Woops. Also, I would argue that Pachirisu came in handy for a lot as well. Being able to learn sweet kiss, captivate, and charm made it perfect for stalling or softening for stronger members to come out. Some pokemon are more useful beyond their strength.
Honestly, Empoleon should be S teir in my eyes because of the fact that with its steel typing it basically resisted everything and I think pre-Gen 5 steel types were also resistant to dark and ghost. Empoleon can also learn flying and ice moves as well
Luxray is still too high. It's only barely usable as an electric type, and Rivalry can actually nerf it further. If you could consistently get Intimidate it would be great, but the fact that it can be even worse a fourth of the time in nuzlockes really hurts it.
Base form Shaymin has exactly the same BST as Shaymin S with a slightly different distribution. Shaymin S is a little bit fast with slightly higher attack and special attack while Shaymin Land is bulkier and far more balanced across the board.. Even in land form the stats are still very high, and it's like that for everything. It has no weak stats. Still has Serene Grace. Still has STAB Seed Flare. Still has Air Slash for absurd flinch spamming. Still is INSANE coverage with it's movepool. If you get a turn you are either 1 shotting with OPAF Seed Flare, or you are going to literally just flinch stun the opponent to death. It also gets access to Synthesis. This mon is nuts. There is no way you can look at this shit and not concluded that it is broken as hell. Because of Serene Grace Shaymin S makes a strong case for being maybe the most powerful mon in the entire series so far. Slightly less broken than that is still broken as shit. If you are nuzlocking with a randomizer, and this shows up in your run there is no way you aren't happy to see it and there is zero way you dont use it unless you banned it.
Gallade is actually much better imo, close to S Tier. Gets great moves in CC, Drain Punch, Psycho Cutand Leaf Blade, can learn Punches and other cute moves, does an INSANE amount of damage, has good typing and good SpDef. Carried my last Platinum run on it's back (since you can get him before Gym 4 in Plat OwO)
@O K There are so many worst starters out there tho. As long as you are aware of strong physical hits and have type coverage you should be fine. Gallage is especially good in Platinum, where you can get it before the 4th Gym and it helps against gyms 4 to 7 a lot. In other games you get it a bit later, so it's not as good, but in Plat he's S tier IMO.
@O K I speak based on Platinum. You can get Gallade before gym 4. It has type advantage over most of gym 4 and handles the neutral matchups just fine. It greatly helps in gym 5 due to Leaf Blade being a lv 1 move. It sweeps gym 6. It sweeps most of gym 7, with Froslass being the only inconvenience. It carries midgame alone thanks to stats only matched by a few pokemon at lv 20. It's one of the best fighting type available and one of the best psychic type available if you dont use Trade Evolutions (even tho it contends the spot with Infernape and Lucario later, but having 2 of them is just fine in a team). Has high physical attack paired with good stabs from early into the game. Has solid SpDef paired with a draining move, optimal for no item runs. Learns: Psycho Cut for early STAB Zen Headbutt early from tutor Drain Punch for STAB and sustain Night Slash Leaf Blade Earthquake Rock Slide Poison Jab Thunder / Ice / Fire Punch (most of the moves listed thus far extremely early) lategame Close Combat some decent support move (Screens, TWave, Swagger, Trick Room, Swords Dance, Substitute) Of the S Tiers available early and midgame in Platinum: I usually ban Gyarados, but while it has similar stats and a strong ability in Intimidate, Gallade has a much wider movepool I usually ban Blissey, but it's a completely different pokemon and there's no comparison to be had. I play without trade Evos so Alakazam is banned, but even then Gallade has comparable attack and more bulk agaisnt Alakazam's higher speed (even tho i'll agree, Zam is better) Snorlax is ridiculously unlikely in Platinum Lucario is a contender for sure, but while he's more versatile Gallade has much more atk and Gallade can be found much earlier Magnezone is completely different but even then, he's a later encounter and he has a far more limited movepool (but better stats overall) Crobat is amazing, amost ban worthy. Togekiss needs a lot of work to be good, but it's a bit better than Gallade as far as utility and coverage go (Gallade is still superior in the damage department). Gliscor is actually not amazing in Gen 4, he doesn't learn any decent move without important TMs or Tutors and is overall much bulkier but deals much less damage; he doesn't even learn fly .-. Mamoswine is available much later and has slightly better stats and a narrow (but strong) movepool. Uxie is available super later and he's a bulky pokemon, not much to compare. I play without Trade evos, so no Scizor (nor Machamps, just to mention him here, but Gallade has less physical bulk and more movepool than Machamp) I dont really wanna go into all the A tiers, but as you can see i have some arguments. And i could talk about how it's decent against half of Cyrus' pokemons or half of Cynthia's, but that's not where he shines the most. It's not amazing lategame, but if you get a male Ralts you can have a 518 base stat pokemon at lv 20, smacking everyone with 125 base attack for more than half of your run, and it's decent lategame. This argument is for Plat only, in other games you get Dawn Stone much later and it's not as good.
Yes, in most situations- Pachurisu is garbage. However, Sourkid the Pachurisu was actually one of my MVP’s in my most recent Diamond nuzlocke, for one simple reason: Pickup. While normally Pickup is very underwhelming, I was using the “no bought items” rule. Sourkid allowed me to circumvent this restriction, and when combined with discharge and super fang (along with cut), Sourkid played a valuable role in my run up until around the 6th gym. At that point, he just wasn’t doing enough damage, so I replaced him with Pichu->Raichu
Starting my first Nuzlocke with Pokemon Pearl (my first time playing pearl as well). Glad I found this video cause I know nothing about gen 4 besides the starters.
Why were people questioning a garchomp ban? hes literally banned to ubers in gen 4... after a swords dance he 2 shots every pokemon in the game including blissey, only a jolly natured weavile can 1 shot him, he literally has 0 counters as weavile cant switch into a garchomp, definition of an uber pokemon, the first non legendary mon except wobbuffet to be banned to ubers

I'm surprised you put Torterra so high, and also happy. That's one of my favorite pokemons and I'm also salty because everyone says it's bad just because it's slow.
I did an entire sinnoh run with bidoof and it did surprisingly well so I can confirm it's not that bad
Early game simple Bibarrel with defence curl and roll out might be gimmicky but i'd love to try that out
BIBAREL IS NOT SPELLED WITH 2 R'S!
This video just showed me there were a lot less gen 4 Pokémon than I thought lol
Torterra would probably have been so much more loved if not for Garchomp just existing. Poor lad just couldn't keep up with the funny land shark.
And while I've nearly always used Luxray, a friend opened my eyes to how good Rotom is, even in its base form because I never got the event to unlock it's other forms it's a really good special attacker.
Yay my favorite pokemon lucario is in S tier lets go.
PC gets to each of the pokemon I usually use in my normal/nuzlocke runs
Pc:"this thing is garbage" "you should never use this starter"
Kricketune actually destroys early game. It carried me through the first three gyms in Reborn
1:06 When he said “Best normal type so far.” my UA-cam crashed.
Lickilicky is fire btw. Attack is great defense and sp defense are fantastic and hp is amazing. Teach it rest and sleep talk and u got a champion
I've no clue why im watching this at 1 in the am. I haven't played any pokemon games and the only pokemon content i've watched are jaidens nuzlocke stuff
Pro nuzlocker reacts to pro nuzlocker reacts to pro nuzlocker
I love your ranking system because you don't rank like a competitive battler and rank like just a gamer
i don't care what the nuzlocke master says, ima defeat Cynthia with a kricketune on my team.
"God you fucking suck Pachurisu"
Pachirisu in VGC 2014:
That's where you are wrong.
Tail glow manaphy is straight up busted with its learn set
I think Lickilicky is A tier, because it has nice bulk and decent offense. He can be used as special or physical attacker, mixed, or tank, and has access to many support moves.
LICKILICKY IS AN IT, NOT A HE!
dont call me weird but i think challenges' voice is rly soothing, i like to listen to it in the back when im gaming
Staraptor: best normal flying
My Togekiss having serene grace equipped with kings rock and uses air slash
Simple Rotom,Simlpy because of the triple immunity(ground, normal, fighting), acess to baton pass/nasty plot/willowish etc etc and the fact that is a staple encounter if played properly, should be high A tier, atleast ingen 4 games.
We need the Part 3 of rants
Day one of asking pc to do a 3 team member nuzlocke
Yeah he disregarded it way too quickly
I feel like none of the pseudo legendarys should be banned because the whole point of them is grinding them until they are fully evolved, which usually happens right before the elite 4. So if you can keep that Pokémon alive until then, you deserve to have it. Same goes for gyarados or other Pokémon like that.
Well, unless you use Rare Candies like PC does, where you'll likely just keep it in the box until the level cap allows you to level it up to that point and actually use it.
Their stats and some of their abilities make them too easy to use.

"Dry skin is a huge gimmick"
Bruh it gives it immunity to water
luxray with attack and speed EV trained literally caries the game and is obtained early wtf
Bidoof is definitely underrated! Makes such a useful hm slave 😂
simple
Did my very first nuzzlocke before finding this channel. I used items (badly), didn't pivot, played on switch mode, and even used palkia. Gonna go again on set mode, cap items at 3 per battle, try and pivot more, and I won't use palkia. (If I get garchomp though i might use it. Cynthia's is so scary)
You can out speed and one shot her Garchomp with a Froslass pretty easily tho
@@thiagoveloso7610 i never did see one, but I'll remember that
@@lunarmathemagics7881 you'll need to catch a female Snorunt and use a Dawn Stone. Not a guaranteed encounter by any means, I think it is like 10% in route 216 and 20% in 217 and acuity lakefront, only at night, so that's an issue. But if you find it, it is worthy
How dare he insult Pachirisu!!! That little mouse took a Draco Meteor to the face like superman takes a bullet to the chin. Pachirisu is a total chad!
The funniest part is regigigas can’t even stall protect. He can’t learn it.
Can't wait for the Gen 5 list.
Some pokemon are more useful beyond their strength.
been waiting for this
I like Rhyperior for the better ability in Solid Rock and the ability to hold leftovers + slightly more firepower
compared to Rhydon
So happy to see Froslass on A!!
Honestly, Empoleon should be S teir in my eyes because of the fact that with its steel typing it basically resisted everything and I think pre-Gen 5 steel types were also resistant to dark and ghost. Empoleon can also learn flying and ice moves as well
Nice opinion, sadly it’s just an opinion
Cherrim needs to get the Galarian Linoone treatment
Luxray is still too high. It's only barely usable as an electric type, and Rivalry can actually nerf it further. If you could consistently get Intimidate it would be great, but the fact that it can be even worse a fourth of the time in nuzlockes really hurts it.
Wild that Floatzel is low B tier with its speeeeeeed and decent attack. Evolves early, bodies the Platinum Fantina fight.
Basteodon sucks???!!
Yeah he does but I still love him :(
Luxray is always my go to pokemon in gen 4...it’s in my team in gen 8. But what do you expected when it’s my favourite pokemon
@O K I speak based on Platinum.
Learns:
Psycho Cut for early STAB
Zen Headbutt early from tutor
Drain Punch for STAB and sustain
Night Slash
Leaf Blade
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Poison Jab
Thunder / Ice / Fire Punch (most of the moves listed thus far extremely early)
lategame Close Combat
some decent support move (Screens, TWave, Swagger, Trick Room, Swords Dance, Substitute)
Of the S Tiers available early and midgame in Platinum:
I usually ban Gyarados, but while it has similar stats and a strong ability in Intimidate, Gallade has a much wider movepool
I usually ban Blissey, but it's a completely different pokemon and there's no comparison to be had.
I play without trade Evos so Alakazam is banned, but even then Gallade has comparable attack and more bulk agaisnt Alakazam's higher speed (even tho i'll agree, Zam is better)
Snorlax is ridiculously unlikely in Platinum
Lucario is a contender for sure, but while he's more versatile Gallade has much more atk and Gallade can be found much earlier
Magnezone is completely different but even then, he's a later encounter and he has a far more limited movepool (but better stats overall)
Crobat is amazing, amost ban worthy.
I play without Trade evos, so no Scizor (nor Machamps, just to mention him here, but Gallade has less physical bulk and more movepool than Machamp)
I dont really wanna go into all the A tiers, but as you can see i have some arguments.
Glad to know my choosing of Rotom over Luxray wasn't in vain.
Lucario is my favorite Pokemon of Gen 4, no offence to Luxray and Garchomp
Eh, non taken. I'm more of a Riolu/Luxray guy, but yeah, Lucario's pretty solid too👍
I sure they don't care
Thanks for another video, cheers!!!
Gliscor is insane, especially in gen 4. Even better than garchomp imo
Mamoswine is my favorite Pokémon so I love that it’s an S
Yes, in most situations- Pachurisu is garbage. However, Sourkid the Pachurisu was actually one of my MVP’s in my most recent Diamond nuzlocke, for one simple reason: Pickup. While normally Pickup is very underwhelming, I was using the “no bought items” rule. Sourkid allowed me to circumvent this restriction, and when combined with discharge and super fang (along with cut), Sourkid played a valuable role in my run up until around the 6th gym. At that point, he just wasn’t doing enough damage, so I replaced him with Pichu->Raichu
DO NOT CALL PACHIRISU GARBAGE! THAT'S MEAN!
'Best normal flying type so far'
'I think Swellow is better'
Why does every UA-camr I start to watch blow up
Starting my first Nuzlocke with Pokemon Pearl (my first time playing pearl as well). Glad I found this video cause I know nothing about gen 4 besides the starters.
okay i’ll admit it, you got me with the clickbait rotom in S tier

Day 2 of asking pc to do a 3 team member nuzlocke
I watched this video to see where my favourite Pokémon victini would go
Thanks you for ending it when my hopes got up
Why were people questioning a garchomp ban? hes literally banned to ubers in gen 4... after a swords dance he 2 shots every pokemon in the game including blissey, only a jolly natured weavile can 1 shot him, he literally has 0 counters as weavile cant switch into a garchomp, definition of an uber pokemon, the first non legendary mon except wobbuffet to be banned to ubers

Torterra is super under rated. I think it's the best gen 4 starter. Good stats, stab earthquake, stab leaf hammer, stab Frenzy plant and leech seed. Torterra's a beast.
