+Brian On Gaming true, they are no longer in depth, i remember the days of the Nexus 6, 6P S6 and Note 5, al of those are over 15 mins with very insightful info, the new ones S7, G5 & HTC10 are absolutely garbage !
+Enrique Perez I don't think so, he moved long time ago. I think MKBHD is just shifting his target audience to more mainstream users, you know, people that are less tech savvy. There are lots of people out there that only care about camera and screen of a smartphone but don't really care about internal specs. It's kinda sad but thankfully there are still some channels that do detailed reviews of smartphones like pocket now and android authority.
Fantastic review Dave :) I've been considering getting the HTC 10 over an S7 but the slightly smaller size of the S7 is more comfortable. Currently what is your daily driver?
+HardwareCanucks Seems like Dave just appreciates better software over those couple points where the S7 beats it, like the screen, size, water resistance, etc. I agree with him, for me, if I don't enjoy the software, then I don't care if I'm holding a gold-plated, 8k, bullet-proof phone.
+Team Android Canada The issue isn't features vs features. It's that Touchwiz has and will always bloat and slow down the phone. Their software inevitably puts 'jank' on the phone. Early reviewers always describe it as 'snappy' and 'fluid', but they don't follow up on how it holds up a couple months later, or how future updates affect the experience. Samsung destroyed the performance of the S6 last year with one of their updates. Samsung is also one of the slowest out there for updating software - the s6, last year's flagship, didn't get Marshmallow until February (almost a full 6 months late). I owned the S6, so I know what it's like and it's why I'll never own a non-Nexus phone ever again.
Dave's style, pace, length of video, and in-depth information keep me coming back. I am also a sucker for his voice. He could pod cast his reviews and I would listen. Like many of the comments below, we hope he will never dumb down his videos or cave to commercial sponsorship and have it adversely affect his true opinion of the product he's reviewing. Keep up the good work Dave. More subs will come.
Your reviews are so good that even though I've watched like 3 reviews of the HTC 10 already, I still enjoyed watching your review. Keep it up you'll be at 1 million subs in no time. 👍
this is the best review of the 10 I've seen so far. Far better than MKBHD's, which was SUPER bland. This was honest and really puts forth what an amazing phone the 10 is.
Dave - you sure about that white front? I have a silver US model and a carbon gray US model, and both have black fronts. Is yours an international version?
i plan on getting htc 10 hows the silver vs the carbon grey? i really want to get carbon grey from the photos it looks impressive but my provider is only offering silver right now wich has a very bright clean look( from photos ive seen) not bad just different then the grey? wich would u recomend?
+Guy Prieto Honestly, between the two I think I like the silver more, but that is only because I'm betting scratches and nicks won't look nearly as bad on there as they will on the darker model.
It is interesting that you liked the battery life. My HTC 10 as of 2018 overheats and the battery's screen on time is around three hours. How long have you used the phone and has the phone overheated?
I'm just between picking the s7 or the htc 10, which one should i buy? I have a 6p but for me it's too big for my hands, so i thought about a smaller device.
the design looks in real life better nad the performance of the hardware and software is very good. many additional software features and even water resistance on a high level. i held both phones in my hand and i simply couldn´t lay the S7 down. i played with the htc for a few minutes and then i wasn´t interested anymore but with the S7, i was amazed by design and sexy OS. I rate the phone 99% because the only downside is that the plastic part over the flash got scratched really fast (cheap plastic) and no dual speaker.
My first ever comment on UA-cam ever, is to let you know how much i loved your review. Keep up the good work man. You have original opinions, and for one, you've taken some nice shots for the camera comparisons :) I love this phone too, and i'm just waiting for it to be available in the Singaporean markets.
Sean Miranda nainly its just inconsistent for me. i will hold my finger there for 10 seconds and nothing will happen, or sometimes i just rest my finger on home button and im logged in simultaneously as my phone unlocks.
I'm a recent sub and I've started to love your videos. The instant your intro plays im relaxed and your informative voice is very interesting to listen to. Keep up the good work man!
Nice refreshing review. I'm torn between the Nexus 6P & the HTC 10 as daily driver. I'll sometime switch between the two within a day or so. I can't wait for the Pixel announcement and go on from there. Keep up the good reviews
An honest and genuine review. I'm a Samsung fan and user but I can sure appreciate a well built phone from HTC and the quality they have put into the "10". In regards to your opinion and review, I agree that earlier channels rushed their first impressions on the phone rather then spend at least a month or two, to truly give not only the phone a chance but also HTC to refine and tweak the software before doing a solid and UNBIASED review. All in all keep up the good work.
I dont watch review videos often, but man you have not fallen off at all with your quality. And if I remember correct, UA-cam isnt your full job. I dont know where you find the time but props to you. I like HTC, but its camera always lets me down, especially in low light, but overall great phones.
amazing review Dave. I was thinking about changing my s7 for the htc 10 and after watching your review that makes me wanna do it even more. hopefully I can review the htc 10 on my channel soon!
Great video as usual! Nice to see I'm not the only person in the "the 6P is too big and the GS7 still has touchwiz" boat. If I'm not impressed with what comes out of I/O this year, I'll definitely be picking this up.
i love the way this guy puts his videos together there just something which makes me want more ......great video bro keep the videos coming and id like to see a razr core review.....
sheldon leslie It's slow, has ram managment issues which were supposedly fixed but still showed up in Phonebuffs speed tests and super slow Android updates. And a little personal thing...the bloatware.
The big factor to consider is always price. It seems like Samsung flagships are always the most expensive Androids on the market. For that premium price, you're largely paying for brand, so you typically don't get the best value.
I'm a long time MKBHD subscriber. I just subscribed to you after watching this video. Excellent review. Brief in a good way that holds my attention, and encompassing. I'm listening on Senn IE800's and I'm not sure if it's just my earphones excellent sound or not, however I would recommend toning down the volume on the background music just one notch or so. It was fine for the most part but slightly distracting at certain times.
My apologies but I couldn't help notice that when you talked about the HTC camera shortcut and referenced Street Fighter combos...it should have been SF5 up on there on your screen, not SF4. That said it was a nice review but sadly HTC just doesn't have the sheer availability that Samsung Galaxy S7 does(over where I am, it's a Bell exclusive!), which is a non-starter.
+Dave Lee I agree with you 100% (except for the fingerprint scanner, I think it scans pretty fast since I don't need to press a button). The phone is just all around great, it has no major bad things about it. It isn't the best at EVERYTHING but it is top 4 in everything and the best at certain things. Wish it had faster storage speeds though. However, you didn't mention the adoptable (not just expandable!) storage which I think is an awesome feature! Or the OIS on the front facing camera.
Nice review as always Dave. Enjoyed watching your reviews. Just to share my experience here. I own an M8 and it's still kicking ass with Marshmallow update. Bought an S7 Edge (Exynos) 2 months ago and hands down, great phone with awesome battery life. Touchwiz is not really an issue for me here because it has been improved drastically over previous gens Touchwiz. The animations and transitions are buttery smooth. I have to agree that the speaker is a bit muffled but since I use headphones more, it's not a deal breaker for me. I haven't have a chance to try out the 10 yet, but i'm pretty sure it will be the best S7 alternative like what you've said. HTC has convinced me with the M8 and the 10 is not an exception. Can't go wrong with either S7 or the 10.
Fantastic review, although you mention that the fingerprint sensor isn't instant but in the video it looks pretty instant to me. Idk why people keep saying that the S7 is one of the fastest sensors out because the sensor on my S7 Edge is not as fast as this and I get "no match" or "make sure your finger covers the entire sensor" errors a lot.
Love the way you do the reviews, very pleasant experience. As for me the HTC 10 falls under that "Jack of all trades" BUT it doesn't say "Im the best that could be". I've used all these brands and quite honestly, despite TW having the bad rep that it has, I find it the best when it comes to features, features that stock Android don't have but trying to implement.
Thank you for this video. It's the first video I've seen that addresses it from a "stock-android guy" perspective. I've been considering making the jump from my Nexus 5x (have used Nexus devices for quite some time) but was unsure if it's be able to handle the skin. This video helped put me at ease
Great review of a really underrated phone, Dave! Hope to see more stuff like this. Htc 10 really is an amazing device that people rarely notice. It gets a lot of the little but very significant things right. I wish htc was a bit better with marketing and pricing.
Fair and quite honest view on the 10. I've had the 10 for about 2 weeks now. I came from the M9 and previously owned the M8 and Sensation XE. I'm very pleased with this one. The camera is truly the best one HTC has ever implemented, maybe not the absolute best on the mobile market, but one of the best. Yet for me personally, a great trade-off in combination with the clean Sense-8, against for example the S7 and its touchwiz. In case of design the margin might be getting smaller, but I still just love HTC's designs above all the rest.. Call me a fanboy, and perhaps I am. But I'm rooting for the underdog. I hope HTC's numbers get better now with the 10 and Vive
I actually do like black fronts on white phones. With white phones the camera, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and speaker grille just add visual burden. Wish we had both options at any rate.
This HTC 10 review was better than MKBHD's review. Keep up the good work man,
Agreed
Mkbhd review is getting worse
+Brian On Gaming true, they are no longer in depth, i remember the days of the Nexus 6, 6P S6 and Note 5, al of those are over 15 mins with very insightful info, the new ones S7, G5 & HTC10 are absolutely garbage !
+FalconFX Take into account that MKBHD is in the process of moving, at least at the time he filmed the videos.
Concise and fantastic as usual sir!
Fantastic review Dave :) I've been considering getting the HTC 10 over an S7 but the slightly smaller size of the S7 is more comfortable. Currently what is your daily driver?
Hey finish building that refrigerator! :p
+Leowulf Ganks XD
+HardwareCanucks Seems like Dave just appreciates better software over those couple points where the S7 beats it, like the screen, size, water resistance, etc. I agree with him, for me, if I don't enjoy the software, then I don't care if I'm holding a gold-plated, 8k, bullet-proof phone.
Exaaactly

I've owned the M7, M9, M9+ and now I getting the 10. There is literally no phone on the market that satisfies my needs other than HTC's flagship.
Soooo true.. HTC Only , Once you Start you can't stop.
The legacy of great smartphone flagship continues with the HTC 10... That's a perfect 10 literally...
i switched to a Note 5 after my M8, the biggest mistake ive made.
+Adam George The M8 was a beast... I'm holding one right now. Almost due for an upgrade.
+Anthony R The M10 is over powered. So juicy. You will love the transition in between.
+Brett Boughton Couldn’t say better.
Been waiting for your review. Now I can purchase with full confidence. Thank you!
Your reviews are so good that even though I've watched like 3 reviews of the HTC 10 already, I still enjoyed watching your review. Keep it up you'll be at 1 million subs in no time. 👍
Dave, you could sell me on a potato.
Beautiful video on a beautiful phone. Great work!
this is the best review of the 10 I've seen so far. Far better than MKBHD's, which was SUPER bland. This was honest and really puts forth what an amazing phone the 10 is.
I don't usually comment on UA-cam, but you are doing a great job, keep it up.
Most people who "review" phones online don't test the phone for a month like you do.
yeap I really appreciate these type of videos especially with Pocketnow who started this " After Buzz " series and UA-camrs started following it!
+MrLalasd SO TRUE lol
Absolutely true!
It is interesting that you liked the battery life. My HTC 10 as of 2018 overheats and the battery's screen on time is around three hours. How long have you used the phone and has the phone overheated?
I subscribed when you had 70k subs. I didn't know it at that time, and I still don't know why you don't have at least one million subscribers.
Claudio Lavacca December 2017 I'm in b4 a million, too, right now. Great quality vids.
I'm just between picking the s7 or the htc 10, which one should i buy? I have a 6p but for me it's too big for my hands, so i thought about a smaller device.
htc
I went from the s7 edge to the htc 10 with no regrets.
I wanted the htc10 so bad but when I compared them at the store, I had to go with the s7 and it's the better decision yet
the design looks in real life better nad the performance of the hardware and software is very good. many additional software features and even water resistance on a high level.
i held both phones in my hand and i simply couldn´t lay the S7 down. i played with the htc for a few minutes and then i wasn´t interested anymore but with the S7, i was amazed by design and sexy OS.
I rate the phone 99% because the only downside is that the plastic part over the flash got scratched really fast (cheap plastic) and no dual speaker.
asking me 4 months later and me responding within 6 days, i couln´t know.
that background music grows on me... so ambiently peaceful. also, great review!
Just recently found this channel. Already a fan of the vid production, especially the spec rundown with outline animation of techs you review. subbed!
more reviews from this guy please. fantastic mate
Such a great review, I can't believe I'm just now finding you. SUBSCRIBED.
+Paolo Chacon thanks for the support! =)
+Paolo Chacon u read my mind man
+Dave Lee am subscribing too where have you been hiding bro

My first ever comment on UA-cam ever, is to let you know how much i loved your review.
Keep up the good work man. You have original opinions, and for one, you've taken some nice shots for the camera comparisons :) I love this phone too, and i'm just waiting for it to be available in the Singaporean markets.
Happy to see your subscribers go up :) This is another great in-depth review, keep it up!
Dude, you have the most enjoyable smartphone reviews. I appreciate that you keep this positive attitude towards devices.
+Dominik M thanks for watching my stuff =)
I am so happy dave has over 150 k subs! He seems like a genuine guy and and I love to see that flourishing on youtube where so many people are fake
dude the iphone finger scaner is slower then htc
+Mario Darnadi its so bad in my experience
Dmahmoud17 what ?
+Mario Darnadi Definitely right, Finger scanner on HTC 10 is extremely fast
+Dmahmoud17 yeah the fingerprint scanner on my 6 rarely works
Sean Miranda nainly its just inconsistent for me. i will hold my finger there for 10 seconds and nothing will happen, or sometimes i just rest my finger on home button and im logged in simultaneously as my phone unlocks.
Thank you! Been hoping you'd do a review for the HTC 10. D2D is becoming my favorite tech review channel.
I'm a recent sub and I've started to love your videos. The instant your intro plays im relaxed and your informative voice is very interesting to listen to. Keep up the good work man!
Dude you have such a pleasant demeanor and voice 😊
Nice refreshing review. I'm torn between the Nexus 6P & the HTC 10 as daily driver. I'll sometime switch between the two within a day or so. I can't wait for the Pixel announcement and go on from there.
Keep up the good reviews
dude you are just amazing !! And you are spot on about the camera update that most people missed out
An honest and genuine review. I'm a Samsung fan and user but I can sure appreciate a well built phone from HTC and the quality they have put into the "10". i cant wait almost 200,00 subs nice work Dave!
I still don't get how some people hate TouchWiz. I think it's better because it looks more pleasing and fluid compared to the older versions.
+Vincenz Lee maybe its better compared to older touchqiz versions, but its still worse than htc sense, at least for me.
+dimos k touchwiz is android n
Anmol S touchwiz is what it is. It's a UI for android, just like htc sense or LG UI. Nothing more, nothing less
+Vincenz Lee Touchwiz affects performance in the long run, much more than sense ever did. Let alone Sense 8.0. Best Sense to date
+Martijn S have you owned a s7 yet?
Hands down my favorite tech review er on UA-cam
I've had both. HTC 10 is better.
I really enjoy watching your reviews, and you seem like a great bloke. Hope the success keeps coming, and all the best from Australia.
I dont watch review videos often, but man you have not fallen off at all with your quality. And if I remember correct, UA-cam isnt your full job. I dont know where you find the time but props to you. I like HTC, but its camera always lets me down, especially in low light, but overall great phones.
really love ur videos! Considering getting the HTC 10
i like your reviews man. they seem honest. don't change your style! will alway stay subscribed.
Dude your reviews are soothing! LOL I love it! Keep up the good work! :)
dude....you should have SOOOO many more subscribers. your videos are pretty solid
Hardware Canucks? That channel is very good too.
Cool video man! Nice to see you talk about the pros when many don't consider them as one! :D
amazing review Dave. I was thinking about changing my s7 for the htc 10 and after watching your review that makes me wanna do it even more. hopefully I can review the htc 10 on my channel soon!
Love your reviews! I can't wait for my HTC 10 to come in the mail!
Great video as usual! Nice to see I'm not the only person in the "the 6P is too big and the GS7 still has touchwiz" boat. If I'm not impressed with what comes out of I/O this year, I'll definitely be picking this up.
I love how you show the song you use in your intros at 2:18 when you're focusing on the soundcloud app :P
Toronto! Didn't realize you were from here. Good review, can't wait for an HTC made Nexus!
+Gabriel Lawrence 6! same here. i'm pretty excited for that
Great review as always! :) can't wait for the razer core review!
i've waited for this review dave,, and i like those references to street fighter combo :D
100% agree with you, best review till now, wish you further success, stay unbiased ;)
peace man :)
Hi Dave, I really enjoy your reviews so keep making them :)
I fucking LOVE your reviews. They're nice and simple and it feels like you're actually talking to me.
best all-rounder of 2016 indeed. thanks for the review dave!
i love the way this guy puts his videos together there just something which makes me want more ......great video bro keep the videos coming and id like to see a razr core review.....
so the whole review basically says that the s7 is better in every way unless you listen to music without headphones often.
Well even with headphones on, it sounds better than the S7 but otherwise...apart from touch wiz the S7 is better
+fireflame608 what is wrong with touchwiz?
+fireflame608 what is wrong with touchwiz?
sheldon leslie It's slow, has ram managment issues which were supposedly fixed but still showed up in Phonebuffs speed tests and super slow Android updates. And a little personal thing...the bloatware.

first time watching one of your reviews, really concise and to the point and great editing as well. subscribed 👍
One of the best and most objective reviews of this phone around, if not the best actually: well done!
Glad to see HTC back with the great phones. The M8 is still the phone I loved the most in the time I used it.
Hi Dave. Great video. I really like your delivery style and how you present your views. Very well done. Keep up the great work.
+d0k0night i actually recorded sf5 footage at first but sf5 has way more generous frame timing than sf4. hence... sf4 footage =)
Hell yeah! I'm rocking the HTC 10 with you bro and it's ducking incredible 😀
your vids are quite unique and different from other review videos and they are brilliantly edited as well.
I like black front on the phone, cuz it hides all the sensors making it more seamless and sleek trough out the whole front panel
Yet another great review. Nice work Dave!
Short, straight to the point and solid review. Great work!
do you wipe fingerprints off for every shot? it's refreshing to see clean reviews
Are you gonna look at that new super cool HP spectre?
you are doing such a good job with your reviews. keep it up and you'll surely become just as big as someone like mkbhd!
Always great reviews here. Cheers!
Fantastic review. The most honest and authentic review of the htc 10 yet!
Great review. I have a 6p, and it too feels too big for me. sorry for a random question, but what was the jacket you were wearing in this vid?
Love the new Intro!
Loving the videos Dave, keep it up!
Well done on the review. It's really professional and clean all around. One of the better phone reviews I've see recently. I really like the HTC 10.
solid review! you deserve a few million subs dude.
Another great review Dave! Keep up the vids!
Dave, your one the best reviewer that i ever watched! keep the good work up bro :)
You are doing great job.....hope you will do review of every techs....good luck buddy!!!!
Really great review as usual, though I'll probably wait for the HTC Nexus and see how that goes. Thanks Dave!
Im getting this phone tomorrow.... so excited! :D Thanks for this great review -Top notch :)
Straight from the hip dude!! Love your videos man, thank you!
You sure just earned a subscriber! Nice review buddy loved it!
Please review more phones! Best HTC 10 review I have seen
Really great review and video! Never heard of you before but I'm subscribing! :)
subbed after just seeing this video. Well put together review.
I actually do like black fronts on white phones. With white phones the camera, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and speaker grille just add visual burden.
Wish we had both options at any rate.
I prefer black front with silver
glad i subscribed to this channel a while back
great review. subscribed immediately
+JamAudiox thanks for the support =)
+Dave Lee i have a nexus 6p should i change to htc 10?
+Luigi Puno yes !!
Luigi Puno yes you won't regret it
nice review, Dave. as always.
hope you do review iphone SE next.
Great comparison! I have no choice but to subscribe after that fireball FADC combo!
Another great review/video. Easily one of my favorite tech youtubers.
Are you having any wifi connection issues with this phone? people are complaining about that.
What kind of computer do you use to play games? And can you make a video about AlienWare 17R3?
