I had one back in the day... Loved the small size, the Boomsound Speakers, and that amazing DAC that worked magic on a pair of pro cans... Downside was you couldn't get it wet, the LCD screen as opposed to AMOLED, and the awful battery life... I only got about a year and a half out of it before the battery had some serious issues with drain that I could never lock down, and then I swapped it for a refurbished Galaxy S7 which lasted me twice as long until the screen finally went! I think that if you root an HTC 10 and do something about that battery, you probably could run it on the current version of Android, but I not going through all that now... I'll either stick with Sammy or a Pixel these days...
I loved mine. Probably my all time favorite phone. HTC was always pushing into experimental areas, and were routinely punished for it by the tech press. The spirit of HTC lives on with the Pixel “a” series since Google bought the HTC engineering division to create the “a”

Your comments about the “audio quality” were actually about the speaker sound. Which is different from the audio signal produced by the dac. Which is also quite good. You missed a major selling point of this phone.

I definitely learned something. Fingerprint sensor seemed solid. Yep, i was totallly cool with one camera at the time. Great vidoe as always.
I didn't have any experience with the HTC 10, but my personal trainer had the One M8 and the audio on it was great. The rest of the phone wasn't, but the audio was great. HTC cameras, however, just weren't good for the price they were asking (which, of course, today is the price of a mid-ranger but back then was the premium price). And they, much like every other OEM, lived in the shadow of NOKIA who simply had the best cameras on the market, even without Android (unfortunately). And in 2016, when this one came out, NOKIA was gone...but LG and Samsung had taken its place as camera monsters with the G5 and S7 and Huawei was already lurking. I can't say I would care for a modernised version of any old HTC phone (HTC is still making phones...apparently). But a modernised version of the S7? Oh you know I'd be on that in an instance! Samsung could even keep everything the same and just update RAM, SoC and base internal storage to 128GB. I would buy that in an instant.
Well don't know about the one series cause about that time I have an HTC HD2 which was able to install custom ROMs and remove Windows about pictures and videos I was able to capture in good quality
Some friends of mine believe that HTC 10 was begin of the end of HTC domination. I had M8, 10 and U11. 10 was the king, sound specially. I can remember that listening music via headphones (wired) was so loud, so crazy experience with me! Camera had an issue displaying warnings when IR sensor is covered or finger is 2cm from it and it was iritating. All in all I wish the new wersion of HTC 10. I would buy it! Regards. Nice video!
I think the 11 was indeed more torwards the downfall, they started to look at others instead of doing their own thing. And of course they always had 1 weird thing about the phone! The U12 for instance those buttons that weren't buttons where just not nice to use at all! then of course a very low resolution in the like of the M7 didn't help either.
ah HTC 10, i still have it and its still the best looking phone i have till date. The free earphone were actually REALLY good. I miss HTC but i guess nothing last forever.
I still remember how much I wanted to have an HTC 10 because its characteristics were similar to the HTC One series but unfortunately there was no chance to get it but I can get the opportunity to own the HTC U11 which is much better in terms of specifications and cameras. 😂 Fun fact, The HTC 10's front camera is very special because it is the first and perhaps the last smartphone to implement OIS on the front camera. 😁

Bro where did you get the red model, I disagree with your opinion on the vibration/squeeze features on the 11 and 12 models. It just made sense with quick gestures to open any app and or program with different variation of squeeze pressures. I love HTC devices, I can't explain it but why does my HTC 11 camera just look so crisp and fluidband better than a few flagship devices I've owned.
Re-bought one last year for just £40, to use it as an MP3 player. With it's original headphones (that you can still buy) and built in DAC, the sound quality using the those headphones blows away 95% of all phones released since IMO and I use it most days. Great video👍🏼
The M9 is the last of the classic HTC phones for me. The 10 is just like stock android. You buy an HTC for Sense UI which this seems to be stripped away on the 10 and going forward. Also, no front facing speakers and aluminum wrapping around the front top and bottom. M7 thru M9 was the last of that generation and their peak for design IMO.
Think the main reason battery still works well is from since new, I only charged it up to 80% and never let discharge below 20%. Sure it's been to 100% from time to time and only once did I ever let it go to 0% where phone "died".
Absolutely I would want one . I really wish HTC would still be around and have the Same HTC10 but with 5G network. I had the 1st Galaxy then got HTC One , then HTC 10 , Moto X , Moto Z3 play (this one was fun with the Moto Mods. then a Moto G Stylus 5G (worst phone I've ever had thinking being new , 5G ... But BLAH) . Through my carrier I got a Pixel 8Pro , did not feel it was much better than my Stylus G5. Probably was but camera would not focus faster and would not see more stars in the sky , even when there is no moon glare. Anyway I returned it and bought directly (for the first time , not through a carrier) A Motorola ThinkPhone !!! I love the ThinkPhone Price vs overall performance . Impossible to beat !!! But before that my HTC 10 was THE Best I've ever had.

I would never buy a HTC phone every again. Back in the day i loved them then i purchased a new HTC and it continued to heat up and crash. Took it back to HTC and the service to fix it etc sucked. I avoid their phones like the plaque. They skimped on the epoxy and it ruined them.
Come on you're talking about a phone from long ago don't expect high resolution like today's HTC creates many features that even iphone uses today and to HTC fans boys we still waiting for a newer version with and old sense UI
Funny enough, I used to do a lot of concepts, animated a video for them a long time ago, but even more so... I was in talks with them about re-designing a new school mix between the htc m7 and 8! Sadly turned into nothing.

I skipped the m9 but got the m10. This was my last htc. It was sad. I lost a good friend when i had to ditch htc.

i got my my Verizon HTC 10 in May 2016 and it is still going strong. The orig. battery still lasts me a day in a half.
