They Most likely Praise Samsung and Apple. There we're reviewing a nexus 5 when it barley came out and they were comparing it to the iPhone that came out that year (iPhone 5s?) He compared Google Chrome to Safari and even said multi-touch was slow and unresponsive.... lol
fhhh yeah, but at least they didn't fully disband the good sound quality, it probably sounds better, considering it has a woofer, but also be a little quieter. Most people use headphones anyway, so couldn't care less.
LG's G5 this year is what happened with Samsung's S6 last year so yeah they're phone may be drastically different this year and not be loved but next year every problem they here will be refined and the LG G6 will be INCREDIBLE

Not yet sure how I feel about the 2-way speaker vs. stereo front-firing but at least one of the speakers is firing forward. A 2-way setup actually makes a lot of sense which I had not considered before for a phone. So yes, I will buy it but not yet. I'm going to wait until it's price dips to 700€ or below in Finland. Current 749€ from HTC/799€ from carrier is just too much considering it is the 32GB variant. At least you lucky Americans have that 100$ discount available for the preorder! 599$ plus taxes for me would be under 660€'s. For that price I'd order it in a heartbeat! 700€'s is where I draw the line for a flagship with only 32GB of internal storage and not even a cent more. Sure it does come with the supposedly OK in-ear headphones and the QC 3.0 charger, with which you could try and justify the price: a) most people already have good IEM's/headphones, like I do, so no. b) that should be standard in the box if you're advertising that feature, the cost of the charger in BOM for HTC is peanuts...so no. And that's about it. But, like I said, I will buy it but not yet. I'm not in a hurry, my M7 thankfully still has life left in it.

From what I hear right now, HTC might have produced a phone that's actually solid in every aspect. Great performance, good battery life, nice look, great cameras, stock-like software (which is also supported for a while), beautiful display and consistent speakers. If you don't really care about those extra features then the HTC 10 might be the best option for you!

Dennis Thorsson Of course it is positive haha. Apart from battery life, the GS6 was the best phone of the year (at least for me, I don't like big phones). I own a GS6 edge. What I meant was, last year, I fell in love with the GS6, and it was truly something new from Samsung. This year, Samsung only adressed the complaints about the GS6 with the GS7, they didn't really do something new. The 10 is really something new for HTC, thats why it's the GS6 of this year :D

Great review (as always)! I'm not sure if this is the phone for me because I'm still using the HTC M7 roll-out model (the model in which the sensor in the camera heats up and causes a purple hue around the edges of the shot) and am looking for a different experience with Android (more than likely the S7 Edge). On a side note, just wanted to say great job to the whole TechnoBuffalo team for making another awesome vid!!
The HTC 7 was my favorite phone for the longest time. Had the G2, S6, and now the S7 Edge. It took 3 iterations too long for them to fix it however this could be the option for those who want a premium non glass phone.
You've got a winning formula here htc, just make sure the audio performs well, the battery is enough to get through a day and the camera isn't trash and you're back in the running for me. So far this looks like my new phone to be.
Great review. Definitely a comeback. I was using the One, M7 and now M9. The 10 is a great upgrade. The perfect number for a perfect comeback. Wish we can get it soon.
I am from Thailand and I have using HTC for about 3-4 years now. The marketing here is bad; little people know of my phone and its brand. However, due to my personal experience with HTC, I am loyal to it. I have recently bought the HTC 10 from a local store that imports devices from abroad. I believe the one I'm using is from Taiwan and I love using it as my daily driver. Everything seems great so far...except the fact that the HTC Thailand seems rarely active about such great devices on the global market!

Always loved HTC devices, using the M8 Google play for almost 22 months now, probably buying this one, tried S6 edge for over an year now. Nothing wrong with the Korean major, just that I prefer something that's close to the native Android. glad HTC SenseUI shed those apps.

TB is the only tech site I've seen so far that praises the HTC 10 camera. Most tech sites said it's the best of HTC to date, but still behind other flagships.
I've always been a big fan of HTC and can't wait to get my hands on this one. Hopefully this will help them gain some ground in market share and continue to be relevant going forward.

On previous HTC One flagships, the notification light was only green or red, but does the HTC 10 notification light change color based on the notification? (this is an important feature for me)
Excuse me because I don't know the term but when you zoom in after taking a picture with the M10 and its fuzzy can that be fixed with a software update?
I have one question that hasn't been answered in any of the reviews yet. With the case covering the screen and in the sun does it make the screen easier to see and less reflective? If it does that would really make taking pictures much better. It's always difficult to see what the camera is taking in direct sunlight.
The HTC 10 is impressive. I've never used HTC so I asked some friends that use HTC (or at least used to). One told me he "discovered" the beauty of Samsung's screen and never looked back. Another said he just might upgrade (from the M8). The other is still mulling it over but if he does upgrade it will be the HTC 10. So HTC does have its loyal followers. (I'm waiting for the Samsung Note 6)

I was leaning towards the Nexus 6P and Moto X, but I will consider the HTC 10 as well given the review here. I have a Moto G LTE released June 2014(don't judge me) which works well, but I want an upgrade in screen size, display resolution, ram, processor, sound, and camera.
yeah the 10 is astronomically superb, i agree with john, its like one of the berst, if not the best smartphone out there. well its almost the best, its like one number off 100. i say that because if it was perfect, there wouldnt be problems, but even the best of things have cons. Im most likely not gonna wait in october for the new nexus, cus the 10 is all i neeed.

I've been a long time HTC fan but I finally gave in and bought a Nexus 6p in November 2016. I previously had a HTC one m8 and didn't feel like I would have gotten much of a upgrade with any of the newer models HTC had at the time. if I didn't already have a top of the line phone i would definitely buy this phone. great job HTC!
I had the M8. Then the M9. And have always been loyal. Yesterday I was so close to switching to an iPhone. And that's tough! The camera is the most important thing to me. Do you really think this on par with the Samsung's and iPhone's of the world?
Thanks for the review! My last three phones were HTC (Desire HD, One X and One M8) and I loved them. Only issue was the cameras and I was hoping HTC would improve it or I'd switch to Samsung for my next phone. If the camera is as good as the reviews so far are saying, I'll stick with HTC.
I am a long time HTC fan. I have had several phones, and pretty much exclusively buy from them. I am buying one at launch, I am very happy they give me a reason to continue purchasing HTC phones.
Hey Jon, first off I wanna say i've been watching your videos since you reviewed the M7 and you're by far my favorite, and the first reviewer I always look for when I phone comes out! That being said I wanted to give a couple of observations. No doubt that this phone is an awesome culmination of design from HTC, a company who's reputation is built upon their design, but I can't help but think its not going to make as big of a splash as its predecessors the M7 and M8 did. Would you agree that the competition at this point is so good that its difficult for HTC to stand out as much as they did back in 2013 and 2014? I just get the feeling that objectively this phone is an amazing device thats leaps and bounds better than its predecessors, but when put in the context of todays market, its just a good phone, solid would be the best way to describe it. I guess my question is, do you personally feel as excited about the 10 as you did the M7 or M8? Thanks!!

Not an earphone guy. Removing stereo speakers and exchanging them for mono killed the deal for me. I canceled my order. Other UA-cam reviewers have said that if you liked the previous boomsound speakers that you'll find these disappointing (add lower volume).

this will definitely be a buy for me. my only gripe would be that I wish they went with an amoled display instead of the LCD but that's a small gripe. thanks Jon for an awesome review and I can't wait to get mine.
TB is the only tech site I've seen so far that praises the HTC 10 camera. Most tech sites said it's the best of HTC to date, but still behind other flagships.

I've always been a big fan of HTC and can't wait to get my hands on this one. Hopefully this will help them gain some ground in market share and continue to be relevant going forward.
HTC eliminating bloatware and using more Google apps on the 10 kind of confirms the rumors from a few months back that HTC will be making this year's Nexus.
definitely will buy it unless i don't buy it till autumn cause then it might be htc Nexus 5x(2016),who knows!
pretty compelling device... after watching many reviews I have grown to like the design of it as well. everything else about this phone is perfect. Might get it when the price drops in Canada
1:51. How did you get the Google Now widget to expand again? All I get, regardless of size, is two cards and then a button that says "more cards".
On previous HTC One flagships, the notification light was only green or red, but does the HTC 10 notification light change color based on the notification? (this is an important feature for me)
Excuse me because I don't know the term but when you zoom in after taking a picture with the M10 and its fuzzy can that be fixed with a software update?
I have one question that hasn't been answered in any of the reviews yet. With the case covering the screen and in the sun does it make the screen easier to see and less reflective? If it does that would really make taking pictures much better. It's always difficult to see what the camera is taking in direct sunlight.

The HTC 10 is impressive. I've never used HTC so I asked some friends that use HTC (or at least used to). One told me he "discovered" the beauty of Samsung's screen and never looked back. Another said he just might upgrade (from the M8). The other is still mulling it over but if he does upgrade it will be the HTC 10. So HTC does have its loyal followers. (I'm waiting for the Samsung Note 6)

I'm still using the HTC M7 for about 3 years now...... awesome phone, I've honestly just been waiting for an HTC phone that is worth upgrading too, and it looks like its time now with HTC (M)10.... getting it soon!!!

I was leaning towards the Nexus 6P and Moto X, but I will consider the HTC 10 as well given the review here. I have a Moto G LTE released June 2014(don't judge me) which works well, but I want an upgrade in screen size, display resolution, ram, processor, sound, and camera.
yeah the 10 is astronomically superb, i agree with john, its like one of the berst, if not the best smartphone out there. well its almost the best, its like one number off 100. i say that because if it was perfect, there wouldnt be problems, but even the best of things have cons. Im most likely not gonna wait in october for the new nexus, cus the 10 is all i neeed.

wondering if htc gallery app is availabe on htc 10. from what i understand, google photos app replaces the gallery app on htc.

I like how he said that the edges look a lot different in real life. They look ugly in videos but I looked at it in a Verizon store earlier today and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I've been a long time HTC fan but I finally gave in and bought a Nexus 6p in November 2016. I previously had a HTC one m8 and didn't feel like I would have gotten much of a upgrade with any of the newer models HTC had at the time. if I didn't already have a top of the line phone i would definitely buy this phone. great job HTC!

I had the M8. Then the M9. And have always been loyal. Yesterday I was so close to switching to an iPhone. And that's tough! The camera is the most important thing to me. Do you really think this on par with the Samsung's and iPhone's of the world?

Thanks for the review! My last three phones were HTC (Desire HD, One X and One M8) and I loved them. Only issue was the cameras and I was hoping HTC would improve it or I'd switch to Samsung for my next phone. If the camera is as good as the reviews so far are saying, I'll stick with HTC.
I am a long time HTC fan. I have had several phones, and pretty much exclusively buy from them. I am buying one at launch, I am very happy they give me a reason to continue purchasing HTC phones.

Hey Jon, first off I wanna say i've been watching your videos since you reviewed the M7 and you're by far my favorite, and the first reviewer I always look for when I phone comes out! That being said I wanted to give a couple of observations. No doubt that this phone is an awesome culmination of design from HTC, a company who's reputation is built upon their design, but I can't help but think its not going to make as big of a splash as its predecessors the M7 and M8 did. Would you agree that the competition at this point is so good that its difficult for HTC to stand out as much as they did back in 2013 and 2014? I just get the feeling that objectively this phone is an amazing device thats leaps and bounds better than its predecessors, but when put in the context of todays market, its just a good phone, solid would be the best way to describe it. I guess my question is, do you personally feel as excited about the 10 as you did the M7 or M8? Thanks!!

Not an earphone guy. Removing stereo speakers and exchanging them for mono killed the deal for me. I canceled my order. Other UA-cam reviewers have said that if you liked the previous boomsound speakers that you'll find these disappointing (add lower volume).
