This is another great example of the huge reach Grumps have, introducing me to really cool and passionate people. Paul is such a wholesome guy and I'm glad he's getting some more recognition for making delightful content. Always a pleasure to see Arin talking with someone about the things he's passionate about as well. He gets a different type of happiness when he's able to share himself with new people. Thank you Paul for the conversation and I hope you guys have a lovely day

its weird to see people grow in front of your eyes! hes come a long way from his edgy teenage humor (i still love it) to his more insightful but still goofy self who has life experience and is being a true success without becoming an ass. yes luck was involved, but so far he's been able to make the best out of it! him talking about returning copies of elite beat agents to walmart so he could afford groceries still hits me in the heart.

I remember going to Game Grumps Live and Arin was playing a game against a couple audience members and people were rooting against him. The audience started chanting, "Arin sucks." and Arin, laughing still, said, "My whole life, I've worked hard to get to this point where an entire theater full of strangers tell me I suck." I hope he didn't actually let it get to him at all. Everyone there (well, I imagine everyone) loves Arin.

Regarding Paul saying that he has a reputation for being bad at games: That's precisely what I like about the playthroughs, lol. I have 30 years of point & click experience, so I already know seasoned players' perspectives on the genre; what's exciting is seeing someone dip their toes in for the first time and hopefully eventually growing a passion for it.
Also, I love this interview. Grumps and CwC is a killer combination.

This whole interview makes me want to see a full play through of Phantasmagoria 2 with Paul and Tori even more.
I find those types of play throughs have great re-watchability because the funnies are so wholesome and it’s great to see people get to know each other and bond over a game. The same can be said with other guests such as Ben Swartz, Sneegs, Roberta Williams and Value Select.

The "birth timing" thing hits home. My Grandfather and my great aunt were 11 years and one month apart, my mother and my uncle were 11 years and one month apart, and me and my sister are 11 years and one month apart.
Also, it's so surreal having grown up with "Egoraptor", and then "Egoraptor/Arin Hanson", and now just "Arin Hanson". I know he has his critics, but Arin has had almost the same longevity as Rooster Teeth (RIP), and has seemingly maintained success throughout that entire time. Not only that, but he really seems to understand how the online landscape evolves, and how to cater to new viewers while still retaining the old ones. (Making less vulgar content for younger viewers like TMPH, keeping Grumps going for the old fans, etc.)

Something not enough people acknowledge Arin Hanson doing, is introducing people to old games, both good and bad. I dunno if Game Grumps still does it, but between 2012 and 2015 i was just starting to collect stuff and both of them, especially Arin, were always talking about a certain website or another youtuber where he heard of certain games.
That was hugely helpful because he really made me find some places that had and still have tons of information about old games, a lot of times even where to buy them on the cheap.
Plus all the stuff that i had accumulated from the 90s till then, so i will always thank Arin for helping the discovery of my now beloved retro world.

I love how passionate and ecstatic Paul gets when Arin tells passion-driven stories. His eyes light up with awe and amazement; it’s beautiful. His excitement resonated with me during the Guest Grumps play-thru of Phantasmagoria 2 as well. Great energy.
I love this interview. I love how it just feels friendly. This is the kind of content I look for. Thank you for creating it.
Paul, I mention the two testimonials you shared during the GG play-thru all the time when talking to friends. (One from the widowed mother, and one from the young person who grew up watching grumps.) They’ve helped provide a platform for me to stabilize my own mental health and well-being. I can always tell when things aren’t going well and I’m needing extra comfort, because I turn the Grumps on. They’re the friends I always wanted, the businessmen I’ve always wanted to work with, and excellent life coaches. They taught me how to be silly again after years of destructive depression destroyed it all. I’m very grateful for what they’ve given to the world.
Thank you for this video production. I’ve subscribed and have bookmarked this video for future views when life feels a little too lonely. Please, keep creating! Thank you!

This has been very insightful. As an almost 5 year old Let's Play channel that used Game Grumps as the bar for video/audio quality, I've really enjoyed watching watching Arin's brain get picked (by the excellent Paul Morgan Stetler no less). Having started a Let's Play channel after the field has become insanely over-saturated and devalued in the algorithm, it's really just a labor of love for me. Like Arin says in this interview, we just get out there and make the best, highest quality content we can make. And if that only gets us 10 views, we're okay with that, because at the end of the day, I got to play video games with my best buds and after we're done, I have an end product that I'm proud of.
Thanks for the inspiration, Arin, and thanks for the really weird but super fun 90s horror game, Paul!

I remember when the Grumps started, I only "watched" LPs through Retsupurae. I was also following Arin through his cartoons and gave the Grumps a shot. I remember slowbeef addressing the idea of doing a commentary over a Grump video as unlikely since it was more a comedy commentary over video games than an actual LP.
(For those not in the known, slowbeef is generally acknowledged as the first to do video LPs over the internet through Something Awful. Retsupurae was a series of edgy commentary reactions to what they considered bad or boring LPs)
Dunno if Paul will read this comment, but I think it could be interesting to interview slowbeef at some point, I know he played a lot of fmv and point and click games, plus he's worked in game development and fan translation over the years, even worked on a horror game recently.
