"at age six i was born without a PhD. that changed fast" - brian, basically
I could never imagine spending 20 years building up a career and then quit your job as a professor to work on NSP/Starbomb/Game Grumps. I have lots of respect for Brian even if he wants to murder everyone.
It’s literally the American dream. You build a career in something amazing and you just decide “you know what, I want to start a rock band.” And you fully succeed in both of those things. It makes me feel like I can succeed at anything. It seriously gives me so much inspiration.
Well, he didn't quit that stuff. He still did talks afterwards and it wasn't always "just gamegrumps/NSP/Starbomb". He still did other things.
A sadist interviewing another sadist. Brillant.
jihef03 wat u say
Its pretty sad.
WAKA WAKA!!!
They're my favourites :3
Jason Zabbidou a sadist walks among us in the comment section everyone!
It really couldn’t have been any other way
Ross began this interview like he was a fucking psychiatrist.
Le Ronan "Tell me about your school life. Was it traumatic?"
Of course Brian plays the sax.
All spicy hot older gentlemen play sax.
Kokobro Spice. XD
No wonder Bill Clinton had an affair.
Kokobro I read sax as sex help me
Kokobro And my mom. She play(ed) the saxophone.
Kokobro that sounds like good news for me. i play the sax even though im 18>
Danny saying, "So, tell me why you're out here again," legitimately made me tear up. NSP the movie needs to be a thing.
Danny: So, tell me why you're out here again?
Brian: B-Baka! Why are you even asking that? I mean, i-its not like I came here for you or anything! Baka!
Danny: Brian...
Brian: You better take responsibility...
Danny: I'm sorry...
And then the two kissed and lived happily ever after.
And then they had lots of Beej
And #buttsex
Jordan Durci a dramatized NSP movie in the style of the Scot pilgrim movie with NSP comedic attitude.
Not gonna lie, that part got me emotional. I'm so glad NSP's as successful as it is now.
I wasn't expecting the backstory of a band that sings about #buttsex to make me cry, but here I am
Lol
I want Brian to interview Ninja Brian next.
Support! It would be riviting
In a twist, he realizes the silence was because Ninja Brian was him all along.
And there Wecht sits, in an empty room crying into his hands.
_fin._
Interview will be like: *cue intro music* "So tell me abou-" *cue outro music*
That would be... quiet
Looks like Brian's life-long dream of sitting on a couch talking to Ross for 51 straight minutes has finally come true.
*cough* Who's your daddy *cough*
I forgot about that and now I kinda wish it was still forgotten.
8 months later, we've come full circle.
Wait, Brian has a PhD? Why did he never tell us that?
Colonel Wepler he always mentions it
S.T.V hes not being sarcastic at all
Connor Cooke Nope, I'd never be sarcastic.
Colonel Wepler Its just prepostorous to even consider
Connor Cooke it's you, hello person
If Brian has never started an e-mail with "Hey Bro," I can only imagine how his response e-mail started.
"My dearest Daniel..."
Dear Leigh Daniel Avidaniel
"Dear Sister..."
Dear one who is not as grumpy as the rest
"you know... i'd write stupid little poems to exchange with my friends or sarcastic essays about things" no Bryan i don't know, i don't think any of us know.
FullmetalPink I did once write a sarcastic essay and it was actually a pretty great time all around
FullmetalPink brian
Keep the like amount guys, it's perfect.
I did write a 700 word book review that lowkey talked about shitposting instead once. It was fun and somehow it got good grades too
I feel as though this is just an extension of the Who's Your Daddy? episode.
Yeah but without random outbursts about the game
We found out Who's Your Daddy, but until now we didn't know who your daddy was.
im the 420th like woot
Mr Stream Manager 449th!
Man, legit happy for Brian after listening to how emotional he got over Dan. He's legit one hell of a guy
i love how NSP survived bc Brian had a midlife crisis
4:27 "sex was really my main instrument" I heard, then heard "in college I did a lot of Jazz stuff". Ohhhhhh SAX.
"I came out here for us, bro"
and then they kissed.
DelinquentDJ and had #buttsex
the Danny and NSP parts of this interview were so emotional. just hearing about Danny crying over brian moving away and brian almost crying when he came to visit danny. and then Brian making that decision to move back. so heart felt
That was really cool. It really is crazy how many risks had to be taken to get Game Grumps and NSP to where they are now, especially for someone like Brian.
Also, the beginning of this interview killed me.
"how were your parents."
" 'How?' "
"mmhm."
"Jesus. These are some hard hitting question."
Whoa, I can't believe Brian has a PhD! I feel like he would've mentioned that on the show at least once or twice...
CRGaming he has mentioned it several times, they even made a shirt.
Brendan Bradford .... I think you need some sacarsm lessons
He was joking, lol
Luigi Linguine no he wasn't. Brain actually has a Ph.D.
Blade 31404 He was replying to the dude who didn't got the sarcasm... What's up with this youtube comments. They're not what they used to anymore, people have no awareness of jokes anymore. I have lost the faith on humanity again //_u
The sass is rising
Stephen Blackrose best comment. I lost it.
Stephen Blackrose more like the sax is rising
I'm glad we could all be part of this team-building exercise.
Kaya Diert there's still Brian-Arin to be uploaded on UA-cam
Kaya Moki Nice Boku-girl picture
I like how Barry is one of the youngest in the grumps and his interview is longer than Brian who's the oldest
The Fox Laboratory yeah. I thought that Brian's interview would be super long
+Kris Pierson He's a scientist to the core, straight to the point, no bullshit.
Well Barry has been involved with the Grumps significantly longer than Brian so I think it makes sense. But yeah, I would've thought it would be longer too.
wow this one is a really nice podcast to listen to late. Ross and Brian both have soft voices
Ross interviews his Brain.
what
A Player 69 Brian interviews his Ross
Sam_9000
what
Oh god, already salty. Absolutely loving it the first few minutes in.
I actually shed a tear about Brian’s decision to move to London because I have been in Dan’s shoes before, I when I was in high school I was in a band called Osco and we actually went full time until 2012 where my friends in the band were moving away for college and felt like I was in a depressive rut so once that broke apart I ended up moving to Columbus to be with my wife. With that move ended up meeting a friend that we started a band and now I’m in the same boat that Brian was at the time, still going to do music in fact doing the very channel this comment is coming from to hopefully get to that point some day
Careful, Brian. People might start to think you are a sweet person.
OMG Brian you taught at my high school! I'm sad you hated it though :(
This one made me feel emotionally. I love the relationship between Brian and Dan
Can't wait for Brian to go full circle and Interview Arin
What about holly?
JorellJoestar Brian does interview arin you can listen to it right now on souldcloud.
Holly doesn't/didn't want to be a grump.
That became a rather harrowing tale when the London portion came around. But you made it through.
Godspeed, Grumps.
"Danny poked his stupid face in the window so I flipped him off and he left" if this isn't friendship I don't know what is 😂
Brian is probably in my top three Grumps!
Eh, top six for me
just after byron and ninja brian?
Personally I prefer Ninja Brian. Or maybe Spyyyder
Barry's my fave, cause his whole life is just one huge "Why not?" and I can admire that.
Ninjas don't worry me...nor do spiders.
NINJA SPIDERS, on the other hand....
When talking about the potential break up for NSP I really started to feel it emotionally. This interview had so many levels.
37:31 More productive than you've ever... bean? My first glimpse of Ross's accent.
Yo, straight up, I did not expect that out of everyone in the Grumps that Ninja Brian would have the most emotion filled interview.
@Frogger I still think so 5 years later. Yes.
@Frogger Emotion doesn't always equate to struggle dude. You really trying to start an argument over Game Grumps? Like chill, everyone has their own opinion. Mine is this is the most emotional interview they did. I haven't watched it in a bit but *I* still think so, if *you* don't it's cool dude. Agree to disagree. It's Game Grumps for God's sakes lol
@Frogger Okay.
@Frogger [Insert Buzz Lightyear "You are a sad strange little man" Quote Here]
Oh man. I love NSP (and Game Grumps) even more after these podcasts. 😢 ALL OF YOU ARE SO GREAT.
Brian!! I love you!!
(Please don't get pissed with Ross).
(51m*60s)+21s=3081s
3081s * 1r/44s=70.023r
Any given yellow ray goes around the grumps logo about 70 times during the interview
Science is awesome.
These podcasts have been so great to listen to while doing Uni work honestly and it's so interesting to hear about the grumps' lives before they were grumps
just imagining he picture of Danny crying made me tear up
37:11 this hole part about brian moving to London really got me
I wish they had talked about creating the characters of Danny Sexbang and Ninja Brian
The teacher who inspired Ninja Brian's name was Barry......... I rest my case.
maybe it was, Samurai Barry!
Can we get an interview with Ninja Brian? I'm sure we all want to know the truth to his past.
Well problem being he can't break his silence
Either that or he'd kill everybody before the interview starts.
I think someone cut out his tongue.
+Tais Tai
They can try, although the interviewer won't be able to survive the first few minutes.
The best bit was definitely at the end when Ross was just like, "Dope as fuck..."
I really freaking love this series. I listen to it while I paint.
frankiegetup yeah, I listened to the full suite of interviews while animating once
Brian, you never told me you had a mother!
I'm only one minute in and can already tell how sassy this interview will be!
I just realized the whole grumps crew are like the friends group
The episodes acronym is RIB.
this episode is RIBbed for your pleasure
Rimming is Bliss.
Y'know, Ninja Brian's favorite spot to stab you!
Well, I'm 23 and I relate WAY more than I would've thought with Brian. Switch comedian with actor but keep the science interest. Does this mean in twenty years i'll be a grump?
Andrew Repka hell yeah, just gotta be introduced to a comedian with an animator friend
I love this "series!" It's really interesting to get a look at the intricacies of these people's lives, more so than we already do. It's eye opening to see what they went through. Plus Brian is sort of an enigma when it comes to Grumps and his roll in the grand scheme of things.
It just blows my mind that Game Grumps has someone of his intellectual caliber as a member.
I dressed up as Ninja Brian for Halloween!
Only one I will take my time to actually watch, Ross and Brian is a good setup for anything.
MrDajoto Yeah, but I remember the vast majority of stories Danny has told across the rest of Game Grumps, so it isn't quite as high on my To Watch list as this immediately were.
Ross is a great interviewer, he really let Brian take the helm.
So, Julie and Ross are the major factors that help combine NSP and Game Grumps respectively. That's awesome.
Being that my name is also Brian, i already had a natural respect for Brian. I'm so glad that this series exists, I looked forward to this interview and appreciate all of the decisions he's made and all that he contributes. And Ninja Brian.
Brian is my favorite grump. I love them all but Brian is the best. Hes smart and has dry sarcastic humor and then puts on a ninja costume and plays the keyboard while also stabbing everyone in their videos. This video was great, the only question left unanswered for me is, how did Ninja brian's personality come to be? the angry ninja that is friends with Danny but also murders him. Is that just an exaggerated version of their real life friendship?
So much drama towards the end with Danny.... (tear drops)....
man, I love this series XD
An interview between two of my favorite grumps. Yes
The bit when he talks about NSP's sad times actually brings a tear to my eye
Brian is one of my favorite things to happen to Grumps in like forever, plz do more Brian videos!
Yes yes yes!
Ninja Brian stop putting tears on my pillow...
Augh, it's so good!
Loving these interviews lol 😆😂😄
I 100% agree
I want to see ninja Brian play the saxophone.
As an English major, Brian claiming math is fun is hard to understand.
Some people just love solving numeric problems it feels like a challenge for them they like to ace
Feel Good Music yeah, some people like a challenge. Yet when I try to do any complex math, all I feel is mentally challenged >.>
Darrark lmao I don't like math either I'm more into History
Feel Good Music History's great, but I was always into English, that's where I exceeded at. aem the writer probably knows the feeling. (Unless I'm being presumptuous and you actually don't love it then whoops)
You're right; I love English. Mostly, I love writing.
Wasn't expecting to get emotional in Brian's story. But hearing him struggle with his commitments while in London really got to me. Especially when he almost cried hanging with Dan.
I love that Brian prefers the old-school academics over the "pop-science" ones, the fact that he says he liked Russel a lot, and didn't really read much from Hawking or Sagan is really really neat!
Good Guy Player2 k******
this interview was a solid 10/10
Brian studied with my professor’s husband at UCSD during both of their PhDs and they were roommates too. She said she remembered many times hanging out at their apartment with Brian eating breakfast in his underwear. At her wedding to her husband, Brian did the music for it and she said it was totally fun. It totally came up as a subject out of the blue. I made a NSP reference and she asked if I knew NSP and I said yes.
Brian is adorable.
I'm only like a minute into the video and I already can't wait till Brian interviews Arin.
4:30 ninja SAX party
Current PhD... hear Brian casually mention he got into the IAS.... shitting my pants
I love these podcasts and interviews! These really give insite into their lives. I didn't know too much about Brian before, but now I have mad respect for him.
Wait is Brian saying that he is Ninja Brian?
I don't really watch game grumps anymore, but these are really enjoyable to listen to.
I love it when there is Ross and Bryan.
Even ninjas can have emotions.
"i took over the social media" Brian out of context 2016 47:04
The way this started sounded like an interogation. XD
Brian is my favorite grump. Period.
I've watched most of these so far, and I'm a bit surprised to say that I think this one has moved me the most
I love how the auto-subs are so accurate with Brian's voice
Early in the video, proof that GOOD teachers can make all the difference.
I have been waiting for this one
One of my favorite things about being a NSP fan of 10 years is I got to slowly watch them climb to the kind of fame I knew they deserved since I first discovered them.
the bromance.... dude i almost cry . lov u brian . and nsp
heres Brian Interviewing Arin if you cant wait a day. soundcloud.com/beforethegrumps/gg-podcast-brian-interviews-arin-fix
i feel like there should be a movie for Dan and Brian.
Jesus Fucking Christ, I just realized how much I'm like Brian. Damn.
I've listened to this one four or five times now. Brian's story is great and he's a good listen.
My question is why the fuck is there a game grumps tour but not a Ninja Sex Party tour??? Fuckin A I'd love for that shit.
BaronUltros if you live by Chicago or houston there kinda is lol, i live in Texas so I'm pretty stoked ;)
Gotta love the sax. I play tenor and I never want to stop.
This is my favorite one, Brian is my hero
Ross interviewing Brian. Dear lord this is glorious.
damn....I love Brian now
