A little talk between Dan's two boyfriends
Granny Sexbang: "You goin' out with ya boy(friends)?"
Saskia Viking Dan is my boyfriend
Arin is my waifu
Laurence Hammond im close to arin my name is arian (air e n)
Timothy Mortinson is that right Timothy?
DAMMIT, they didn't make Brian interview Ninja Brian.
Anonymous Panda
Brian: so what made you intrested in music and also assassination.
*Brian changes cloths to ninja suit and changes side* Ninja Brian: ....
*changes back*
Brian: this conversation is feeling really one sided.
Brian was tooken to a mental institute weeks later.
C O L E *taken*
Only one would make it out alive.
It would be 15 mins and it would be Brian asking questions when Ninja Brian saying nothing and flipping people off then Ninja Brian kills Brian.
Anonymous Panda lol
I wanna send Arin the warm happy feeling of getting a hug, because he deserves hugs but does not deserve the uncomfortable experience of hugging a stranger who you don't want to hug.
Anya Thurmes You're funny 😂😂😂
I feel like Arin just pointed out that I have no idea why I'm going to college right now
Agreed. So much agreed. I'm in engineering and don't give half of a shit about any of it.
my best friend is in civil engineering and is absolutely miserable.
you guys have to remember college isnt for everyone. you can go to a 2 year trade school and make just as much or more. and the jobs are actually needed
If you can figure out what you wanna do, do it. Chase that dream yo. Even if you fail it's better than wondering.
PaulWall for something like civil engineering, you kind of have to go to college to learn it. however, when he is graduated, the payoff with be totally worth it. it's just that right now it's a grind that we all gotta get through first.
ARIN KNOWS "you kick my dog!" I USED TO FUCKING LOVE THAT VIDEO!
neyoBear hey guys didn't expect to see you here
Marthboy Haha hey man. Never thought we'd see neyocubs on another video
Goddamnit. I was hoping that shit would stay buried.
JamBear never!
Yoooo I fucking quote that to this day!!!
I haven't watched anything from game grumps for almost a year at this point, but this series of podcasts has been really powerful. Hearing about Danny's struggle with his music, Suzy's relationship with Arin, and Brian balancing entertainment with his passion for science--there's something here that's relatable to anyone.
You guys are a great group of people, never stop being you. Making content constantly can be a real grind sometimes, but those few moments where you really inspire and connect with your audience make it all worth it.
I'm 20 years old and my brain still hasn't turned on yet.
BCvertex how about now?
@@nickb8507 or now?
or now?
Now?
Are you feeling it now?
So, in short: Arin didn't like Barry, Ross use to think that Arin was a dick, Danny ignored Ross' message, Suzy and Arin had a break up, and Brian moved to London... the fact that after all the six are toghether is impressive.
nik700 Late reply but he didnt say disliked Barry as a person it was more like Jon was his cool new friend and he didnt wanna share him with Barry.
OKAY SO it takes about 58.36 seconds for an orange ray to make a complete revolution and the video is 1:18:32 or 4712 seconds so i'll just round the 58.36 seconds to 60 seconds
4712secs/60secs= 78.5
Therefore one orange ray goes around 78.5/79 times during the whole video
Hoesay236 thank you for this
Hoesay236 thanks
Hoesay236 I really needed this
Hoesay236 why😂
i was wondering this actually, so thanks
for killing my sense of wonder, nobody needs that shit, i got shit to do later
(the first line was genuine, the next was sarcasm)
these are the oldest grump and the oldest grump. think about that for second.
XTclips Oooohhhh. I get it
XTclips took me a minute but I got it
kblitz so do I😊
Also the youngest and youngest, right?
arin isn't the youngest
And here I am, waitening for Mochi interviews Mimi, but Im sure most fans have a bigger expectation for Mimi interviews Mochi video.
Masuo15 Love that the cancer side of their fans never disappoint when it comes to shit jokes and fishing for likes.
Woah nice newgrounds comment
soulreaperx7x did you know that if you don't like a joke you don't have to call someone cancer or insult them and you can just continue on with your day without commenting? If you didn't know that was an option, now you do.
soulreaperx7x u mad bro
soulreaperx7x Im actually a Grumps fans to be honest, and I dont mind the interviews since this is an "extra" from the main channel. But if every grump is going to interview the others. We might as well have the cats on Aprils Fools day for Grump Out. Im actually looking forward to that video.
That feel when you get a Wendy's ad on the Arin interview
As a journalist, Arin Hansen TERRIFIES me. Especially since I was taught to start interviews off on small questions that CLEARLY the answer is out there, but it's to get the interviewee more comfortable and also make the narrative fit within the media so that you don't have to source outside of your work.
Also I thought Arin's appearance on Philip DeFranco's podcast was great. It was an excellent time.
Its written Arin Hanson
You know who the real nightmare for interviewers is?
Tom Waits.
If you looking for a person who is good at interviews, The True Geordie Podcast is a good one, The questions he asks are really good, IMO his best one is with Robbie Williams

THE CIRCLE OF GRUUUUUMP
AND THEY INTERVIEW US AAAAALL
Y'know, I listened to this on Soundcloud when you guys first posted them--when I listened to it then, I listened really closely to what you were saying about creativity and doing what you want because you like it. Arin, I know it's a subject you again mentioned in your Megaman X playthrough. I gotta say, I can't think of a single person whose views on creativity and just...living resonate with me more than yours. It feels really good to hear someone saying this stuff, it really does. Thanks, Arin.
hey ive seen ur videos!!! ^.^
It’s actually insane how familiar it all sounds. The Dan interview was the one that got me, him talking about his college life sounded exactly like how I’d describe mine. It feels really nice knowing someone went through something I went through and him talking about how they got through it.
"It's easy to feel ashamed when people are CONSTANLY shaming you". Nice
Brian interveiws Arin. Only question asked "so why didnt get your PHD?"
Brian is just Dan with a deeper voice.
+Burgie The Burger
And also a PhD
69 nice
I relate deeply to Arin on the subject of creativity. When I was clinically depressed (but didn't know it), I wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote. But I didn't eat, I didn't sleep, and everything was really terrible. Now that I'm in remission, I don't write as much, but now I'm happy. And I'm okay with trading one for the other. I'm healing. I'm allowed time to heal. I don't owe anybody anything. I'll create when I want to create--not just because I'm desperate for love and attention.
Yes, keep going, man.
The bane of every artist is that (generally speaking), your "best" works are always from the worst places in your heart and mind.
Ugh, so true. I don't know why though...
Thanks.
Man, I wish I had done anything productive when my depression was really bad. Instead I just sat around like a useless piece of garbage.
i love arin he is so humble and honest this is so wholesome and cool
@Frogger i agree actually
I honestly already respect Arin for all he's done and this just makes me respect him more.
you can rearrange brian's name to say Barin, or Arin B. , or Brain
Alphis did you conclude?
Brian the Brain?
AY! you stole my joke!
TheBrutal95 no brain the brian.
Big braaaaain
Can we just petition to have the Grumps air the lost episode with face cam? That'd be such an experience.
People in the comments are saying stuff like "oh man remember when Arin said he was working on Metal Gear Awesome 5?" Like... You guys do realize animation takes a long ass time to work on? I went to college for 3 months majoring in Digital Media and Animation, and when I finally got to animate I only ever worked on 2 things: a stop motion abstract animation and a stop motion clay animation. It took me around I'd say 2-3 hours to animate the abstract animation, which was 12 seconds long. The claymation was about 42 seconds but the animation itself involving clay was 18 seconds long. It took like 4 hours to make it. The thing is Arin is so fucking talented and experienced. You know he's going to make the backgrounds and probably color it unless Suzy does that for him. He has to make a storyline and write the jokes and record voices, which granted voice acting takes much less time but it just adds to the process. I've done almost all of the stuff involved in an animation and it's very time consuming. He's doing all of it. Just because he said he started working on it doesn't mean oh man one week later it's done. As much as I wish he would make animations I know he hasn't been as interested and Game Grumps is like a job now. Give the guy a break.
Watchman5 Preach, brotha
God yeah. I'm in college for games design and a big part of that is animation and It's fucking hard. Especially to get started in, settling into an art style, finding software and hardware, it's fuckin hard
Also he has a pretty full schedule, he does many projects and has many commitments outside of animation and grumps.
Good point,please dont swear
Garry Ghastopulous did you really tell someone not to swear
I listened to DBZ and Pokemon in a nutshell almost every day in high school. Thanks for them, Arin!
Sygmus6
now that i think about it im sure i remember downloading invader zim does dbz back in like 07 on limewire,an holy shit IT WAS ARIN :D
Same, my brothers and I had that saved on our mp3 players as "Invader Zim Gir Dragon Ball Z parody" for the longest time. It's the coolest thing to find out that it was Arin the whole time 😊
Been looking forward to this one :)
A+Start You a cool guy
cool
aaaw son of a glitch!!
im lonely please help...
it's nice to revive the memories of how game grump came to life :)
Arin's voice is so soothing. I could fall asleep just listening to him and Dan talk.
This aged well
Can I just say that these podcasts have been beyond inspiring and truly life changing. I came here from the new Resident Evil lets play and I gotta say these have helped me get through a lot. I know you guys don't read the comments but I beyond appreciate you taking time to make these.
~ Love Sam.
those tapes need to be released

My dad told me that I would be accepted as I am... as a true man. Little did he know that wouldn't be the case. He didn't lie, he just didn't know.
I missed an opportunity to meet you once Arin. Back in West Palm, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to meet the guy behind DBZ in a nutshell/metal gear awesome. I dismissed him and told him there is no way my friend knew someone so famous and talented from newgrounds. Great interview! Thanks for all the great content.
I can't imagine people being mad at UA-cam content creators for making any amount of money! I mean, it's not like we pay to watch UA-cam videos (for the vast majority). I'd be overjoyed that someone can make as much as possible doing something they hopefully enjoy, for hopefully little effort. That stigma and resentment just doesn't make sense to me!
fucking feminist
I'm sorry don't kill me 😓
I think it mostly comes from people who on some level are maybe jealous of those creators being successful. Or maybe it's from the exact culture you mentioned, that the viewer doesn't directly pay for the content, so they don't understand why anyone would. Or maybe it's the mindset of "it's fun therefore you shouldn't get paid for it". Lots of people in the world, lots of haters
I can get it... It's when people start doing stuff for money that the soul comes out of everything they make. It's made to make money rather than because they wanted to make it.
Arin even says this in the interview... It's not FUN anymore and some people catch onto that in the work being released.
For example, i LOVE metal gear awesome. The awesome reach episode was fun and all but not even close to the comedic quality that metal gear awesome had.
And it can be seen in GameGrumps too... Videos are constantly being "sanitized" and made into exactly 10 minutes and change episodes. They don't play games to the end but constantly change games. There's a lot of sponsored shit going on (albeit, pretty funny but still) and it's not just two guys playing games raging at the game and each other any more... It's more a "Here's our professional goofy channel... Please subscribe".
Sometimes i do miss the old GameGrumps days when it was more from the heart... Even though i hated Jon.
crashinator1 Well, people can change their mind. Subscribe banners are part of the UA-cam culture, and it works. It's no wonder they incorporated one.
I'd say you're right about the minimum wage/low paying jobs part. Low paying jobs obviously require you to spend more time doing the job to make decent (if not still terrible) money. While Arin and danny I find funny, I can't help but chuckle a bit when painfully uninteresting let's players and streamers throw up their patreons asking for people to tip them so they can keep playing games for a living. but hey, who am I to say no?
DBZ in a nutshell was the first thing I heard from Arin all those years ago, and I only recently found out it was him who made that about a year ago, pretty crazy
MsDBZbabe just realized that today. Even watched it a couple weeks ago for the first time in 10 years. Turns out Arin was inspiring me behind the scenes for years.
Brian nailed it. Some people just hate. Im glad when people who provide hours and hours of entertainment for me make a great living from it. Everyone in GG should be in Forbes if I had it my way.
It's crazy just how much Arin's childhood parallels with mine and my brothers. Everything he talked about I was like, "oh shit, me too!" or "My brother did that, or like that, too!"
Brian: "So are you a big Iron Giant fan?"
Arin: "I never saw it."
*immediately shoves myself back in a rolling chair, hand over my heart* How!?
It was very cool to learn how it was made though, interesting that he knew the story of its creation.
I had almost the EXACT same reaction. Put my hand to my chest and said out loud " Oh ARIN, you HAVE to watch it."
No wonder Arin became so successful as an artist, and specifically starting with animation. The way he would get so emotional over Little Witch Academia and the Power Rangers show in Japan really speaks volumes about his passion
Challenge: try to keep your eyes on one stripe as it spins for the whole interview.
no
No, I'm too busy playing Dishonored 2.
Uchuma aah my eyes
impossible
Uchuma every time I blink I lose track of it fuck this
this is a brilliant video/podcast. I think Arin is just about the single most inspiring youtuber I can think of. he's brilliant, well spoken, candid and some own to earth. I can relate to so much of his story. it's really inspiring. thank you so much for doing these and showing us the people behind the personas.
As big of a fan I was of egoraptor on newgrounds, I NEVER knew he did the 'in a nutshell' audios and I had them all, THANK YOU ARIN
sometimes i think of Arin as a cool grandpa for some reason
The one thing I like about arin and the game grumps in general is that they attract more than just people who play video games, they attract artists. Alot of animators mostly and that's what makes it really unique for this channel and I love it.
Brian was the best interviewer
Ricardo Sato Hes got a few years on all the grumps. Whatever thats worth, he has more life experience. He interviews real nice tho. XD I personally enjoyed this one the most though.
I really like how these have been doing, honestly i like how i can relate to Arin's want to create things. Its really interesting to me see where people started off as far a content creation, but also where they first got that creative spark.
It's crazy that Arin has almost always been interested in animation. It's so inspirational that that's his thing even now, and I'm really happy for you Arin👍 being the slim chances you'll see this😅
Spoiler: Arin yells _"THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT"_ whenever he fell on hard times.
I can't believe it took me 5 years to discover this interview. Arin has been such an inspiration to me throughout most of my life from when I wanted to do hand drawn animation as a kid, to having the confidence and drive to pivot one's hobby over to something different and leaving the old hobby behind as a fun memory. I feel he's one of the people I have to thank for helping in someway shape my hobbies and career path to where I am today.
DBZ in a nutshell was one of my favorite things. I didn't even know Arin made that until this year.
I personally love these because I can do my schoolwork, while listening to the grumps interview each other. In fact I almost wish they do all of em because I only know pieces of how they all met each other, but I would like to know for example suzzies history, ross, brent, etc. Overall I loved hearing about how dan and arin got into gamegrumps and what life was like before it
Honestly learned so much about different aspects of life through these interviews. Interesting to hear about the drive and passion you each have for what you do. Glad you guys did this!
I like how Suzy's interview was like all about Arin and how much they love each other and in this Suzy isn't even brought up
She realized it and now there relationship is ruined. Thank you *makes that one hand move*
Ralf Stein Jr arin, what are you trying to tell us?
Ralf Stein Jr Suzy's was very personal life based and Arin's is very career based. I honestly wished it was a little more personal in this one, I would've liked to hear more about Arin's life
Ralf Stein Jr This isn't a knock on either Suzy or Arin, but I think Suzy's is more personal because she seems like she had a tougher early life than Arin did.
Nick94956 Yeah I absolutely agree actually, just thought it was funny is all
My heart--I am freaking out. Arin made my preteen hood. When I was about 12ish...I downloaded the DBZ in a nutshell and I burnt it on CD. And then looked for more and downloaded all of them. My family listened to them repeatedly. Again, this was my childhood...and to think it was Arin who made it. Holy shit. Wow. I am just stunned. Thanks for creating it.
29:00 Arin is my spirit animal. I'm the exact same way about school, I was incredible at tests, but I got by with C's because I just hated school, but I have a great work ethic at jobs even if I hate them.
I'm also ADD, so that probably has something to do with it, I'm just glad it's not only me.
These videos were super interesting, thank you for posting all of these, love each and every one of you so much
I love these interviews. It's so interesting hearing how you guys came up. Very inspirational :)
“Fuck it. I’ll just do it.”
Is something I’ve always had trouble with. I’ve heard many a variation of this and always thought “hey yea I’ll just do it!” but then get struck with all kinds fears and doubts :(
I’m glad I listened to all these interviews though ur all really amazing and inspiring and I’m gonna try to hold on to this bit of motivation I’ve gotten from listening to all these interviews~
@Frogger as long as you try and give them a chance right? Wishing u the best 🫂
I haven't thought about "You kick my dog" in years. Goddamn.
This was one of my favorites when I listened to these like 3 months ago.
These interviews took me to a deep place. Thanks
I love these interviews. It was really fun to sort of dig into their minds and learn more about them. Especially Barry, Ross and Suzy as I didn't really know much about them. I'd followed Arin since his Newground days and watched a lot of his panels so I felt like I had a a good understanding of him. Danny opened up a lot during his early days and was always very candid.
It's great they feel comfortable opening up and letting us in. Makes us feel like one big dysfunctional family. :p
I'm loving these podcasts 👌
Arin, you recorded some voices for a script I wrote way back in the day, for an animation I was going to do. I never did get around to animating it and the jokes I wrote would be very dated today. Still, it was a pleasure to briefly work with you.
These were fantastic! Love all of them!
As much as pokeawesome is improvised I can still quote it in entirety.
Brian is a very good interviewer and I always like his and Arin's interactions. Love ya!
I've been waiting for them to do a podcast for FUCKING YEARS
These interviews were very cathartic to PBS viewers like me. Thank you!
Arin! No matter what anyone says, you are awesome! owo Keep up the epic work man
Goosebumps? Goof Lumps? GAME GRUMPS!?!? *mind explodes*
this is the biggest and best pep talk i have ever heard in my entire life. i honestly love this more than anything and to anyone who wants to give up needs to just listen to this and realize it is a matter of sticking it out. maybe im looking too into it, but this really hit me hard.
I have been waiting a long time for this.
I want to know about Arin Hanson a.k.a. Egoraptor's farts. TELL US.
TinStar Right?!? this needs to be public knowledge
28:02 Shit man, you just described me. I also have ADD; I think there's more to it but I think that definitely plays a part.
I still remember the awesome series and looking for easter eggs such cool shit back in the day. Love you Arin
thank you for sharing these stories, Arin. I relate to a lot of yours and Dan’s feelings growing up, and certain aspects of your personalities. it means a lot
"i dont much care for talking" right at the begining of an hour long video thats only about talk
Hearing how Game Grumps came to be is so refreshing!
VGM Studios right lol. shows that you can be anything you want as long as you stay positive and keep moving forward
This is the best interview yet. It seems so natural. Just two guys hanging out just chatting.
This is such a good interview, I'm so inspired by your story
I just realized Brian is an anagram for Arin B.
What woulkd the B stand for?
Matt Barron Buttsex?
Michael J Who's Brian? The guy interviewing Arin is named Ninjab Ryan???
@@AAC-qd2vn Is he? I can't tell since you added a question mark at the end of a statement.
Arin made DBZ in a nutshell!? I had no fucking clue!! I loved that shit as a kid!! What the fuck!
This makes me so sad. After watching Suzy's interview and how much she talked about Arin, I looked forward to hearing Arin's side of the whole thing. I know this is his interview, but Suzy really put off how much her life is centered around him, but he talked about animation the whole time and made me want to cry.
This series makes me adore each of the grumps more and more. I feel like I'm watching a TV series but using my imagination and these audios. They all interlap at some point even though the stories are told by and through different peoples' perspectives. It's like a whole movie... The Grump Movie.
I also feel like this interview thing serves almost as a catharsis for them. It's something that may or may not definitely change how they now see each other in a good way.. I dunno... it's just an eye-opening experience I think, to have someone you trust listen to anything you have to say and just, learning about each other..
I miss Arin's one man panels they were super good
ARRRIIIIIIIN RELEASE THE LOST EPISODES PLEEEASE!!!!
I wish there is a 2nd part because Arin has a lot more to say, like, we heard everyone else's life but we barely scratched the surface with Arin, I think Jon has to interview him again and Arin should interview Jon. That would make me incredibly happy.
I love you Arin Hanson.
So much, adore you. Thanks for existing.
So Arin may have helped invent "in a nutshell" comedy?
bro
I feel like if "just do it" wasn't a tagline for Nike, it would be Arin's tagline
I really hope there are gonna be more stuff like this in the future!
This is the best interview in Before the Grumps. Brian does a masterful job playing interviewer and Arins responses are candid and insightful into his past.
Aaaahhh my goodness, this was so enlightening!
One of my early inspirations to pursue animation telling how he got his start, and surprisingly in more than a few ways it was similar to my path this far, though I haven't really made it big yet.
And the origins of the best gameplay channel on UA-cam too, which was ever so awesome to hear. :'D
Thank you so much for making these interviews!
o_0 Oh my gosh I had NO IDEA Egoraptor did DBZ in a nutshell! I've had that saved to my computer for YEARS!!!
Awesome ppl all of you love you guys
Man, I'm getting such a nostalgia trip over hearing about these old videos. I've lost count how many times I've watched and quoted Metal Gear Awesome over the years. Making me feel old as hell too, haha.
I don't get how ppl say that creators are sell outs, if ur not a sell out then u can't make money so ull end up a homeless person
it only made sense to me with musicians. But thats when people take music too seriously.
Crunchy Tatters I mean there is always patreon...
I know, right? Well, it depends on the thing sometimes, some brand deals it's like 'but it's THAT company... why would you support those dicks?' (For example, GAME the UK version fo Gamestop are doing a thing literally called Sell Out, which is getting people to do brand deals. And they have a reputation as the slimiest brick and mortar game stores here already...I guess EA and Origin can be another example, but we don't always know anyone's exact financial position so even then it's like yeah, maybe they do know but need the money) On the other hand, how do you expect them to make money, with a 'real job' like what Barry mentions in his interview, that's the same preconception that Brian also mentions his colleagues having in his interview when he finally up and joined Grumps, and if they have a different, less creative, day job when the heck are they going to be making the things we love them for.
Yeah, I've never gotten that mindset. Like,,,,, people have to eat and pay rent and shit.
Arin, please let me make you guys tea. You guys are so sweet, you deserve tea and such all the time.
The introspection part really hit me close to home, teared up big time.
I really like this. I relate so much to Arin's childhood. I was so creative and loved making things. I also love LOVE doing voices and creating characters on the flip of a coin and knowing that he put so much effort into it and made something out of it.. Man. It hit home with me. It's been an inspirational, emotional ride with this interview. Thank you Grumps!!
