It's crazy that I'm 20 now. When game grumps started I was 10 and didn't discove4 them unti 2014 when dan had joined. I really mean it when I say this, Dan and Arin are both father figures to me. I wish I could tell them how much they helped me be a proper person, with no father in my life they really didn't know how much their words would affect me.
Thank you for sharing that. You never know when what you do will inspire others and I have no doubt that someday someone will be saying the same thing about you.
What’s even crazier is that I bet 10-year-old you could never have guessed that over a decade later, by being such a kind-seeming and “proper person,”you would get your wish, and have your comment and feelings read aloud on a Game Grumps episode delivered by Paul directly to Dan and Arin. ☺️ I just love when the Internet, universe, and kind people receive that serendipitous karma in return. 🙂
I hope to have friendships like Arin and Dan's when I'm their age so I will still have that energy in my life when they retire
Stay strong, soldier, it only gets crazier after 20. Those past traumatic experiences always creep up to mind every now and then, but it's important to have a reason to keep going and goals to strive to achieve as well as internal moral battles to win. I believe we are chosen soldiers destined to walk this hard path to show others the good and beauty of life. Never give up.
I just hope you're not following Father Arin's health advice.
I have been listening/watching Game Grumps since 2018. Dan you have made a difference in lives. The lockdown sucked and you made me laugh and break my face smiling. I needed this so much, and still rely on you guys when I am down...long drive...can't get to sleep. I'm a 70 year old mom/widow. Feels like I have been hearing you and Arin grow/mature and keep it real. Can't say thanks enough.
Spoilers if you haven’t seen it, BUT you are now a part of Game Grumps history, and have an extra reason to smile anytime you need it, after the most recent Phantasmagoria 2 episode. 😉🤗 So cool how diverse, wonderful, and kind the GG community (and honestly, the entire Sierra Games family!) are. I love that you refer to the work you do as an oral history project, as an anthropologist who deals with oral histories on a regular basis, i sometimes forget that youtube vids and podcasts are just modern oral histories in a way. Loved the episode! You certainly have a voice for radio as they say

As someone whos been watching egoraptor and gamegrumps since the beginning, Danny has become my favorite member of the grumps. Just a down to earth, passionate guy.

He's purposefully trying to come up with bits and be funny 24/7. Danny could care less about that and just makes funny observations. Like em both but I just relate more to danny. I hate to admit that I'm probably in the (tiny) minority here that had no experience with GameGrumps. However, this was an absolute pleasure to watch and learn about, and I've already checked out the channel and subscribed. I know Dan Avidan did this on Paul's stream (obviously drawing a huge crowd) but he'll at least get that out of it. For what that's worth, that and a few bucks will get you a cup of coffee (just not one of those fancy ones, probably instant).

Came to check this out after watching your guest appearance on the game grumps channel because you seemed like a wonderful down to earth guy. Glad to see how much of a passion project this truly is for you and the wonderful intergenerational connections you can make through videogames. I was born in 1996 and being able to connect with people who were already industry professionals creating videogames the year I was born is one of those beautiful things the internet allows that I'll never get over just how cool it is.

I’ve been a fan of Dan’s for almost a decade now, it’s great to see him talk about the Sierra games he grew up with. As someone who didn’t grow with these games, I greatly enjoy learning about the video games of the generations before me :) it’s very enlightening and heartwarming to see 💚
He's the reason I found your channel, he had mentioned Adrienne's actress did a playthrough, while he was doing a Phantasmagoria playthrough this month on Game Grumps.
Exact way I found it! Watching that playthru right now and was shocked to see the most recent upload here is a video with Dan!
It's honestly thanks to Dan and his long solo playthroughs on Game Grumps that i rediscovered Sierra in my adult life, of course, including Phantasmagoria 2.
This was such a great chat, I'm grateful you guys could get together for this. I love watching Dan on the Grumps but it does feel like a totally different context when it's with Paul because he's got such a calming, almost fatherly presence that makes the chat feel so much more mature. I was one of the ones 10 years ago who loved the classic Game Grumps with Jon and could not accept the change. But I think it became something even better over time with Dan. :)

i came well after the Dan change, new nothing about the past but eventually left a few years ago, its nice to hear dan after a while
problem with original Grumps was that there was 2 guys screaming, it was okay but got really jarring fast. Now with Dan being the other grump it makes more sense that the other one is indeed not so grump, Darnel and Arnel really play well from each other
Both variations of the grumps were great for different reasons. Jon, and Arin had great chemistry together, although a bit chaotic. Dan fits for a different reason, more like opposites attract. Took quite a bit for me to come around, but I love Dan now.

I didn’t grow up with these games, but found them in the 2010’s and I love the charm of them. Really cool to see someone who DID grow up with these (Dan) get to meet some of the people who had a huge impact on him.
Dan’s like the older brother I never had, watching him play Space Quest was the best thing about Game Grumps for me. I still go back and watch all those when I’m needing a pick me up from the normal day to day.
Dan Avidan has been one of the most influential people in my life and how I conduct myself. Learning to be calmer and living better because I know what it feels like to feel bad. There isn’t anything little 13 year old me needed more than what game grumps had to offer and now that I’m a man, there’s nothing I could do to possible repay that.
Loved this show! Dan brought me here, but I think I'll stick around!

I started watching game grumps in 2014, and immediately fell in love with the comedy Dan brought to the show. Funny enough I found starbomb first, NSP, and then game grumps. All separately and it took a long time to realize they were connected.
Would love if Danny became a recurring guest like Ross and Noah!

It is... SO... surreal to see Dan here on this channel. I've been watching Game Grumps since the beginning, and when Dan showed to be a fan of the old Sierra games, I was SO pleased; I grew up with those games, too, and they were super formative for me. Him taking the time to explore those games on GG has meant a lot to me- with no one else around me who had played those games back then, with no one to talk to about them, and then the wider gaming community only really forming online *after* their heyday, finding someone else who loves them as much as I do is good for the heart. Especially when it's someone I admire as much as Dan. :D
I gotta say, it was a surprise when I first heard him talking about having watched you and Tori play through Phantasmagoria. Even more, it made me wonder if he saw my accidentally *phenomenally* well-timed donation over the climactic moment of the final scene. :D I really appreciated hearing the two of you chat for a bit, there was a lot of cool insight to be had here, and I'm *definitely* looking forward to the day you two (three?) meet up and possibly play Phantasmagoria 2.
What really brought me into GameGrumps was the episode where Danny really bared his soul and talked about his struggles with OCD and depression. It really cemented him as a role model for me, and I've never fallen out of love with everything he does.
I hope Dan would've seen it, but everyone should experience Spoony's playthrough of Phantasmagoria 2. One of the funniest playthrough series ever.

It feels like a lifetime already. I've been a NSP fan for so long now, and a Grumps fan for even longer. I was sad to see Jon go, but we couldn't have asked for a better replacement co-host. Danny and Arin never fail to put a smile on your face

100%. I never played those games as a kid, but I absolutely just relaxed into a puddle listening/watching Dan playing all those different games was so therapeutically relaxing.
I also never played them, but I've watched all those solo play throughs so many times. Like story time ❤️

But looking at the videos on the channel, I'm definitely interested in way more than this.
But, I guess, nobody really looks up Bret Mogilefsky because they like Grim Fandango, so the algorithm doesn't really know to share that with me. But really I'm just interested to hear, more often, from people involved with making games.

It's great to hear this conversation, as someone who's watched Game Grumps for nearly the entire time Danny has been on the show. As this is an outlet that he could talk about the show and his life in a way that he typically wouldn't considering his co-host already is aware of most of these things, so they essentially wouldn't need to even discuss these things. So, it's interesting to hear these stories that most likely will never be talked about on GG itself. So, this was a great interview.

A Guest Grumps with you and Tori would be lovely to see with Phantasmagoria 2! Now that Dan's chatted with you and mentioned it himself, I see no reason why this wouldn't happen in the future. I would love it to be for a Ghoul Grumps (Halloween vid's) for next year, but idk if you or even Dan & Arin would wait that long (unless they would want to film it extremely early and keep it in the reserves for next year.)

I saw this on my feed a while ago and queued it up to watch because I saw Dan in the thumbnail but it got lost in the miriad of other videos i ended up queueing up.
Cut to now, finished watching the guest grumps special for phasmagoria 2 and being surprised that that same video was Dan talking to someone who worked on a Sierra game. Then I looked at your other videos and my jaw dropped by how many titans of the industry you got on to talk with. I mean Steve Purcell alone had me dumbfounded. This is such a hidden gem of a channel and you deserve more subscribers and a larger fanbase, genuinely.

For the longest time, Dan has been an inspiration because at some point, I'm hopeful that I can become semi famous through UA-cam. Even if I don't, I continue on because I enjoy UA-cam immensely. It's what has helped me heal through my parents' deaths over the years and introduced me to incredible content creators and amazing minds.
This is awesome, always thought Dan would be a great guest.
Dan is one of my role models. His positivity and his dedication to find humor and laughter in life motivates me continually. *Obama voice* Danny and Arnold are two exquisite fellas

I started watching these guys in high school, and the show has always been a comfort to me throughout the years. It's introduced me to so many games that would have passed under my radar otherwise, and I would love to play Phantasmagoria II myself sometime.
When I saw the first GG thumbnail with Dan in it, I thought it was a special guest or a joke. Then I learned Jon left, and I was initially not down with the change. But Dan grew into the role pretty quickly, and knocked it out of the park. Now it’s hard to imagine anyone else in his spot, with all due respect to Jon.

As a game designer/systems developer in the industry, and longtime Game Grumps and Sierra fan, after the most recent Phantasmagoria 2 episode with you and Tori, I immediately had to come check out your channel and this interview. I often struggle with ADD/OCD, and can find it difficult to watch long interviews, but this one just FLEW by. I was also very inspired by this, from a game designer AND human perspective, as the insights were wonderful, and it was just…great. Been listening to Grumps since before Dan even joined. When he joined, it was a boon to the enjoyment of the show for me: I found a lot to relate to him on, from his taste for games, his outlook on life and experiences, and his brand of comedy. Since the moment I found your channel/streams, I was waiting DESPERATELY for the day this might happen - Dan has such a love for FMV/Point-and-click games, and Sierra as a whole, so it was such a huge hope that I'd eventually get a video with the two of you discussing that era.

Paul, I would love for you to play the original Deus Ex that came out in the year 2,000. It's more complex than the games you've been playing, but I think you and the audience would really enjoy it. It's a game that is highly praised. I would recommend playing on easy for your first time.
I listen to game grumps at night when im in bed and i had to stop because i couldnt go to sleep while my body spent all the effort to keep me smiling the whole time. The only time ive ever had to consciously be aware of my smile
