yooooo this isnt what happened for me, for me everyone turned on orin and the butler declared her a traitor and usurper, butler screamed "VENGEAAAAAAAAANCE" and the temple followed
That's the power of hubris. Based on the writings you can find, The Dark Urge was overconfident in their abilities, which allowed Orin to sneak attack them while they were distracted. I'm surprised Durge would even make her second-in-command of the Temple and bring her along on important missions like the one to Moonrise, but there's that hubris again. There's also probably some nepotism involved as well.
After Durge died, the rest of the party entered combat with Orin and her cultists. I left Durge dead for the remainder of the battle because I wanted to see what would happen. Once my party defeated Orin and her cultists, that was when Bhaal appeared and resurrected Durge.
So I just got this outcome. But after the cut scene, he’s still there just standing. If i get close to him, he moves slightly, but he’s in the same spot.
I don't believe this. The Butler scolds you for being a Loser. Then he dies, not of a broken heart, but of a broken everything. The "Stranger Things" Way.
The butler is made to care for the durge. I doubt he has his own feelings. He's just an extension of bhaal's will and when there is no use for you, there is no use for him. Not to mention, I'm almost certain each butler is a new version of the last. So the final one was programmed to be less than nice
They're like the family steward that got exclusively hired to make sure Durge becomes what Bhaal wants them to be. He does actually care to some degree but Durge succeeding and fulfilling Bhaal's wishes takes precedence over everything else. Durge failing in the video tells us exactly this. The Butler was ashamed he lost the duel because he believed Durge would win.
How do you even trigger this? When Orin killed me she just kept attacking my party members. If they all die - it's the end, if they kill her - they resurrect me with a scroll and the game thinks I won, no extra dialogue or anything. 🤔
You need to be playing the Dark Urge origin character and duel Orin one-on-one to trigger this. After you lose to her in one-on-one combat, the rest of your party will then join the fight. I left the Dark Urge dead for the rest of the battle rather than reviving him because I wanted to see what would happen. If you do revive the Dark Urge, things might play out differently 🤷🏻
@@callmeraeak This is exactly what I did, I revived my durge after the battle because nothing was happening. And then the butler talked to me as if I won. It's either a bug or I'm missing something else.
@@kawaty Strange. My guess is it's probably a bug then. I'm not sure if that makes you lucky or not, since this is definitely the worst fate for Durge.
Whether Orin is easy to beat or not has a lot to do with your class and who goes first. This character is a bard and Orin went first. She nearly wiped me out in a single hit and finished me off on her second turn. With a different Durge, a rogue who went first, I had no problem taking her down. I could have loaded back to try again, but I wanted to see what would happen if I just left him dead.
Bards can be one of the better options against her. Hold Monster followed by upcast Scorching Ray or Slashing Flourish (Ranged) is hilariously effective if luck has her fail the Wisdom save.
@dennyAyard_ as a sorlock, hold monster was my only way of beating her. I also had to go into the fight with sanctuary on so that she doesn't kill me in 1 turn
@@callmeraeak that depends rather on build than on your class specifically. If you have low AC and low HP pool, combined with low initiative, that is something that you need to fix.
@@callmeraeak My Durge is a Bard and I just got to act 3. I have the Slayer form though, so she can't use it. A shame its DCs are bugged so it's bad if you're a Bard.

With well-executed backstabbing.
Not in a direct combat approach.
@@callmeraeakmaybe LUST;) I would keep orin as scretary for you know what
@@sadsworth4605Considering she's a changeling...
But yeah, just that I could do without the gore fetish!
@@sadsworth4605 Incestuous!
His only regret was that he had... bone'itis
There's no way to cure the dark urge if you follow that path ?
As a berserker human barbarian, I obliterated orin in 2 turns.
I was a TB Monk and coincidentally drank a 27 str and just annihilated her with topple flurry
as a human wizard, i did not
I did it in 1 on my warlock/paladin. Just pre cast haste, not much survives 6 smites lol
damn it took you two turns? our paladin did it in one
@@boxforusa8970 paladins are a more damage oriented class so it makes sense
I wanted to be redeemed Dark Urge. But... Sceleritas was so nice to me :(
So… how does any epilogue turn out with what fel stated would happen to you when the parasite was removed?
You get the epilogue where you're standing at the edge of the party, waiting for everyone to fall asleep so you can kill them.
I want to know what happens if you then take the crown in Bhaal’s name
What happens with Orin in this situation?
After Durge died, the rest of the party entered combat with Orin and her cultists. I left Durge dead for the remainder of the battle because I wanted to see what would happen. Once my party defeated Orin and her cultists, that was when Bhaal appeared and resurrected Durge.
does this just default into the urge ending where you go the party but have lost your mind?
So I just got this outcome. But after the cut scene, he’s still there just standing. If i get close to him, he moves slightly, but he’s in the same spot.
You're not the only one: he's still hanging out in my camp too. I have a feeling this issue is further down on Larian's list of bugs they need to fix.
@@callmeraeak makes sense, not a lot of people play as Durge, and I'd imagine even less people loose (and don't save-scum)
Do you have to fight Orin again or how do you get her netherstone after this
I don't believe this. The Butler scolds you for being a Loser.
Then he dies, not of a broken heart, but of a broken everything.
The "Stranger Things" Way.
Poor dobby
Wait so what happens next? Do you go back to fight her and the entire temple to get the stone?
When you die, the rest of your party joins combat and you fight Orin and her cultists to get her stone.
@@callmeraeak ah ok, thank you!
So does the Butler actually care about Durge?
Nope.
well kind of, the butler cares about durge in the sense he is the only person he wishes to serve.
So if Orin beats you does that mean your other companions need to fight her like normal or where does she go
so is there no way to reject bhaal if you lose?
No
Geralt?
I fought her with a way of hand monk. I didnt even know she could attack...
Bruh I’m bard in my first play thru, all I did was just drop alchemist fire 100x
Wouldve been cool to see if I didnt stun her every turn and layed the dirtiest combo on her like its Tekken
DAMN!
Durge one shot sorcerer. Kinda trivializes the fight.
It must feel especially bad, since Orin is so weak 1v1. Losing to her and get humiliated. Uh...
Only played on normal so far, but the Orin Dark Urge fight was by far the easiest one for me in the entire game. I was a Barbarian and she didn’t even hit me 😂.
I wonder if (spoiler below)
if you become an illithid, you prevent yourself from going bhaal crazy
Unfortunately, that does not prevent it. I had thought it might so I made that choice, but alas...
Wow! It's so hard to lose and even if lose I would reload the moment I got KO.
The fight with Orin was pitifully easy though
His one regret is he had Bone-itis
