What do you mean, brother? The Blood Ravens have always had this Terminator armour. Please ignore the wet paint, we recently had our serfs give it a new coat, out of sheer respect for the amount of years that we've had this. Yes. Long amount of years. Do not ask for documents, for it was unfortunately purged from our database on accident, but specifically only about this Terminator. Truly unfortunate.
@jocosesonata of course brother! I wouldn't dare besmirch the name of a second founding chapter. I'm sure that suit of Terminator plate has had many years in service to your chapter. It's a shame about those records though, perhaps one of my watchers in the dark could take a look?
The crazy thing is as durable as terminator armor is it was the equivalent of a haz mat suit in mankind’s golden age imagine what they’re actual military suits were like
you'd think the emperor would have taken better notes during the age of technology. Makes you wonder how much of his backstory might just be hype and propaganda.

Common misconception is that terminator armour was basically just civilian hazmat. They're not. They're hazmats templates that were modified into the current terminator armor iteration specifically for combat. Same with how baneblades were "scout tanks" which no they weren't, a scout tank of that size would be impractacle and suck at scouting because they would get spotted almost immediately. This "fact" also has no source and is basically the imperium's equivalent of orks being able to shoot sticks if they believe hard enough.
My bad I may not have been clear, but yeah didn't mean to imply they were just a copy of the Hazmat suits, more that they took the levels of protection and technology from those suits, scaled it up and added more for the final design
My favorite piece of wargear in all of 40K. The heaviest armor plating short of being stuck in a dreadnought. The most advanced motive and sensor systems you can pack into a suit of power armor. Strong enough to wield with one hand the same kinds of weapons you’d find in fixed emplacements or mounted on armored vehicles. You can’t hide from it, you can’t outshoot it, you can’t overpower its strength or firepower. In the words of Kyle Reese… “It can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel PITY, or REMORSE, or FEAR, and it ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT STOP, UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD.”
@@Scaevola9449 yeah. I agree. I don’t care if the tyranids are hyped up to be some hyper-evolved super predators. As an Iron Hand, to me, they’re just more meatbags to pulp.
One side note is that the armor does come with a few disadvantages, it was shown in Master Of Sanctity were a Terminator falls through a wooden floor and has to wait the get hoisted out because the stairs are made of wood, the massive weight must feel quite sluggish for the user. Then we have worst cases like saturnine armor that approximately weighs more than a ton.

Buried somewhere in the Rogue Trader lore, the name Tactical Dreadnaught armour comes from the fact that they were literally small Dreadnaughts. They had half-dead soldiers inside who were sent on suicide missions in highly toxic environments. This allowed them to have a warrior's death.
From what I know, back in the day, terminator armor was invisible and indestructible, as well as originally ment to replace standard power armor back when they had the emperor around

The Terminator armor was intended to enter mass production, but not totally replace the standard power armor during the Great Crusade. Mainly because it didn't make for a versatile fighting force. Before the heresy, there absolutely was no question of if the Imperium could manufacture them. Even by the time of the heresy, at least 50,000 of these suits already existed, and that's a VERY low estimate. 18 legions with 18 first companies who all would have been issued terminator armor in full = 18,000. Every company, regardless of first company status, during the GC were also issued Terminator armor for Captaincy bodyguards.
It is probably from the fact that gw supposedly wanted to replace the termis whit gravis but found out that gravis wasn't as cool as the tank boyos and wanted to support this in lore and in rules just think that the new gravis not only had duble the fist and the guns as the termis but a grande thingy on top
