So I'm extremely new to pony restoration and right now I'm trying to clean up a G3 Rainbow Dash I thrifted earlier this week. She had pretty bad tail rust, and I managed to scrub the rust out of her body and replace her washer with zip ties, but then couldn't figure out how to get the tail back in lmao - this tutorial solved my problem, thank you so much
The hair I got was from dollyhair (website) in the usa. There are also European hair retailers. The hair to look for is 'nylon doll hair'. If you end up with wig hair, the strands are much too coarse. Hair specifically for dolls works best. DH has color-match to old g1 ponies, which was why I selected it for Dangles.
If you use the right type of glue in the head, and a good brand of zip tie, the hair will be just as strong as original hair. You can wet, wash & re-style it as well. The types of glue suggested are 'toothpaste ' consistency & not water based so they'll never melt.
If Fabrictack glue is a toothpaste type consistency, you can use it. (I'm not familiar with it) but 'pourable glues' like modpodge and especially crazyglue should never be used. Hot glue might work (very thick) but there would not be a good way to get the glue tip all the way inside the head (where the bangs go) to apply it and not miss hairs. It's ability to harden right away would also impede fixing missed hairs later.

All the tips you provide with a diagram is very helpful and useful for others who wish etc. to re-hair or re-(flaux) fur.
Excelent tutorial! I will definitely use it as a guide when I re-root an old G1 Minty I got!
I am subscribing to see more of your restoration vids =)
I want to try and customise a few, so this tutorial is great for knowing what to do. Thanks.
YAY! First view, your first subscriber, and so happy to see this long-intended video come into existence for us all at last!
This tutorial is fantastic! I finally understand it now. Thank you for sharing! :)
Turned out great!
Very helpful. I can use this to fix my G3 figures
Thank you.
This is so helpful! Thanks for sharing!!💖
Thank you 😊
This is really helpful! Thanks!
This was a great tutorial. Do you have any tips for white ponies that are yellowing ?
You can give them a peroxide bath or sun fade them. Google more tutorials for those.
Where can I get hair for them ? I have one without a tail!
Where did you buy the hair? I'm looking for small bundles of synthetic hair, but they're all coming in full wigs

Pony hairplugs
Will it fall out if you brush and braid the hair?

I am rehairing the same pony. What is the name of the colour you used for her? :)
Glad to hear you're fixing up a Dangles too! Her color is DollyHair's Water Nixie
@@ahorseofeverycolor8932 ok, someone else told me her colour is atomic turquoise. But you think this one is more near her original?
Can you use a hot glue gun or Fabric-tac?
